This is a small, eclectic bookstore with a wide variety of books and genres. What you wont find is a great deal of mainstream authors, but rather books for the more discriminating reader. In other words, books by authors you might not have heard of but who have carved out a niche in the literary world for excellence in storytelling. And that is not a bad thing.There is also a good selection of childrens books for the next generation of readers.We could have stayed much longer just looking over the titles and authors Id never heard of to find my next new favorite book. Alas, time was not on our side. A repeat visit is necessary to discover the next treasure.

Marvelous place. Many books and authors Id never heard of, but in glancing at few pages, were wonderfully written. Treat yourself to a stop, you wont be disappointed. FYI: The sink in the bathroom also well worth a stop. I washed my hands 3x just for the experience.

Id love to give a better rating but i have attempted to go 5 times during business hours and each time the door has been locked and open sign is off. I wonder how bookstores survive in this day in age but when they arent open for customers....... lucky for Amazon and 2 day delivery I guess.

Very nice and helpful staff. always have local writers in to do book signings and they support local and Independent writers. great place to get books. its small but pleasant atmosphere. great energy.

The people were friendly and made sure that we were served. There was a decent variation of series, genres, authors, and age ranges of the books, there is also little trinkets you could buy. Overall was a fun experience and a nice place to stop and explore.

What a great addition to the Ankeny Community! I wonderful spot for kids to learn and appreciate books and for adults to pick up a new book whether its fiction or non fiction. When I need a book for my nieces and nephews, I always go to Plot Twist.

Ive had great experiences in this store. The staff is friendly. Theyve been able to reserve and order books for me. They have a good selection for a small store.

Plot Twist is my favorite book store. They have a great variety and can order anything you want. All the employees are wonderful and its fun to chat about books with them. My only complaint is that the store isnt closer to my house.

This place is an amazing little treasure of a bookstore. Every time I visit, I find something I dont expect! And they have events for children quite often, too. My son loves the place, too.

It is a great place to browse for books if you arent sure what you want. The inventory changes frequently and the staff are happy to give assistance and recommendations.

Small, local bookstore, owner operated, offer to order you anything you dont see, and suggests other stores for items they dont carry. Very nice.
