Rude staff and unfriendly atmosphere. Can’t ask a simple question without getting a condescending demeanor thrown back at me like they’re afraid of questions or don’t want to deal with it. Why are so many local hobby and game stores run by people like this? I don’t understand. I want to support more local shops like these but the people that helm them are just insufferable and treat strangers so poorly.

This place is a great old shop, with some history to its stock and great people to chat with. Always good to see what theyre up to when I visit. Support local game stores!

Awesome little shop located in beautiful brunswick maine. Ron, the owner/operator for damn near 25+ years, and his assistant kate are very knowledgeable about the products they carry. I will definitely recommend to others. And will be a return customer for a long long time. The trade day he has put together over the last few months is going good and have had nothing but a pleasant experience!

Profoundly unfriendly staff, the least welcoming business and worst customer service Ive ever encountered in this town. I wish I could rate higher for the sake of supporting local small businesses, but their refusal to follow COVID masking protocols and overt hostility towards customers who are not personal friends sealed a 1 star review. There are better game stores locally—try the courteous and friendly professionals at Game Box in Topsham instead.

Worst customer service ever!!! I come up for vacation to Maine every year from New York and spend $100+ on Magic the Gathering product at video game box on Topsham so I wanted to see and support another LGS (local game store)... Walked in and asked the woman if they had Magic the gathering cards.... she responds with an abrupt “YUP” before I could finish saying “gathering”... I then asked if the had strixhaven collectors packs... before I could finish saying “collectors”... she again abruptly interrupted me with a “YUP”... before I could even say 1 sound of my next question I get a “YUP”... so then I ask if I could buy strix haven collectors packs. She gets up out of her seat from watching her IPad likeI’m inconveniencing her. She get behind the counter and shows me a “bundle” 1x collector pack 1x Japanese pack and one regular pack for $30.. I asked if they had solo packs and she sighed and said yes and pulled out an unopened box and slams it on the counter... I ask if I can get 2x cus I wanted to spend only $50+tax not $60. So she is angry that she has to open the sealed box. Then turns around and angrily puts the box away and proceeds to pull out the loose packed from the bundle (which I didn’t want because I wanted packs from a sealed product so I know it has t been tampered with) she looks and me and I just walk away. She should be fired! I will NEVER give this shop my business. Go to Video Game Box if you want to be treated like a customer!

The owner was amazing. I had not bought any cards in 30 years. He explained everything to me clearly and was a genuinely nice person. Just a good experience.

Owner spends too much time complaining about other places & people. His prices are as high if not higher then ebay and he freely admits he buys out target and triples the prices . Today he told me he hates cards . I think he needs a new line of work. Not going back, he should just close up . Oh yeah and they refuse to wear a mask. When I was there a customer asked Ron to put one on and he said hes not falling for government BS and refused to put one on. 3rd visit was far from a charm.

Nothing spectacular about the shop but the owner was warm and welcoming. Insufficient sports card inventory but complemented well with gaming cards and supplies. Worth the visit

None of the store personal was wearing masks. They had the card game I was looking for. But not following Covid state guidelines will prevent me from coming back.

The owner was nice and opened the shop up 2 hours early just for us, we just pulled into the parking lot to see what it looked like since they werent open yet, but he was very friendly and let us shop!*Updated 1 star review*Finally got around to visiting for a second trip just to see if they had any Pokemon since you cant find any anywhere, they did have 1 set of pokemon cards, and it was more expensive then other locations. So while I debated buying some, the woman running the place was a bigger grouch than Oscar. She had absolutely nothing positive to say and was very non inviting and not friendly at all. Her attitude was hostile and made you want to get out the entire time you were in the shop. So I left and will never ever return.

Great shop. Very welcoming to new comers and veterans. Several events a week, including D&D and Magic.

We have never had a good customer service interaction here. Weve been here to buy Magic cards multiple times and each time the staff acts as if we are wasting their time, and provide as little help as humanly possible. I am not sure what sort of customers they are looking for, but seemingly not card buyers.

There are two managers. One is abrasive and accusatory in how they interact with customers, the other is kind and helpful. They have all the essential tcg products at good prices, but if the wrong manager is running the store that day, youre in for an unpleasant experience.

Not sure if she (Kate) was an employee or the owner, but I found her to be very helpful and very informative. Talked a lot about cards, kids with cards, caring for cards...........Found the prices very competative with other card shops, and even wal-mart! Ill do business there again - believe it! - Gary

Ive been here a number of times, because there is no local alternative. I really wish I had some other options, so I could stop supporting the existence of such a hostile and judgmental environment.They warm up in whatever way they can only after they can confirm that you subscribe to a certain set of cultural expectations. Its barely worth mentioning that its the worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

Might not be the card shop you walk into if youre not in the loop on what youre specirically looking for, but Ive always had a fantastic experience and the selection is surprisingly great for such a small and out of the way card store.

While visiting up in Brunswick, we decided to have a look around for any local card shops, and found this one. As soon as we stepped inside the store, the atmosphere became tense and hostile. The woman who works at the store was unkind; her rudeness was just sickening. I asked if she had some certain cards since they sold singles, but without even looking at the binder she just said No. There was no eye contact, she never said hi, and she was blunt. I was so disgusted/insulted that I just left the store without buying anything.
