I normally use the south side store, but remembered there’s a store on 1st Ave, which is closer to home. This was my first visit to this location and it was great! The store was clean, organized and welcoming. Nicole assisted me as I was selecting frames for my recently updated prescription.The reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars (and my only suggestion for improvement but really it’s not a big deal) is the south side store can have the glasses ready in an hour and this location can not.As Nicole was reviewing the quote of service with me and mentioned my glasses would be ready in about two weeks, I was surprised and assumed both locations provided the 1 hour service. Nicole was very kind and professionally explained that the 1st Ave location has an emergency repair service in store, but not the full lab services like the south side does.I’ve used LensCrafters for years and plan to continue going to them for my lenses and frame needs. Thanks Nicole for the great service today!

Customer service for me is a HUGE deal with regards to where I take my business and spend my hard earned money; and without question the wonderful folks at this location went above and beyond! Not only did I receive top notch service-I also, saw them treat others with the same level of excitement, knowable; and friendly service! I will for sure be back! I believe the two young ladies that assisted me with my needs were named Sam and Ashley. Will highly recommend to my family and friends! Keep up the fantastic work!

Very helpful and friendly staff at LensCrafters on First Ave. Ive been coming to LensCrafters for many years, and have always had great experiences with the staff. They are always up front regarding their prices (no bait and switch like some bargain eyeglass stores, glasses for $40 but when you get all the options on the glasses you would want, its more like $340) and I have never felt pressured to buy ever. They take the time to go through all your options and make sure you are comfortable with your choices.

Dr. Burr and Staff are wonderful. They are kind, caring and make the experience of eye care fun. You know you will be in good hands!

The ladies at this location have always been extremely helpful, especially with my protection plan. I have had to use it several times and each time Ashley, Sam and Nicole have made it seamless.

Sam and Ashley saved the day! My French bulldog had tried to ruin two pairs of my nice sunglasses. I brought them in here and within 15 minutes they were fixed and ready to go.Thank you

From the exam with Dr.Burr to picking out glasses with Nicole, it was a wonderful experience! I have been going to the eye doctor since I was in the 2nd grade, never have I EVER had my eye doctor ask about my eye care health, if I might have allergies, educate me on the do’s and don’ts with eye care and relieve me of my dry eyes I’ve battle with for yeeeears! Nicole helped me pick out some pretty nice frames that actually look decent on my face. I have a bit of a crooked nose so it’s sometimes hard to find a perfect fit. But, Nicole was patient, eager and super personable in helping me find that pair. Seriously, schedule with LensCrafters for your next eye exam, your eye health will drastically change and for the better!

The Dr was fantastic so no complaints there. I arrived early bc my car was in the shop, 40 minutes before 10 so I walked across the street and got a bagel and coffee. I came back and sat on the curb for a while and then 10 minutes until 10 I asked if I could come in and was told I’m not technically allowed in yet, even though I have nowhere to sit outside and when I said my car is in the shop the response from the lab manager was, “well it’s not freezing rain or cold” excuse me. I’m a new patient, here to fill out my paper work so if your first patient is at 10 open the doors a bit early since they all saw me outside over 30 minutes early. When asked in a friendly manner if I wanted to buy any glasses I walked out and said no bc why would I support poor customer service? I’ll be going elsewhere in the future for my frames. The Dr. was amazing, though.

Came and shopped for my first pair of glasses about a week ago, shopped around a little bit after the visit. Came back today and ordered them expecting them to take about 1-2 weeks to get finished. They literally took the frames back to the lab and did them while I was waiting! Fantastic customer service, clean store and nice people!! If you need glasses come to Lens Crafters off Edgewood rd by Pancheros!!

Rachel was amazing! She helped me pick the perfect pair of glasses as well as a really cool pair of sunglasses. The sunglasses are totally outside of my comfort zone and I love that!!

Lense Crafters needs to update equipment but everything else is spot on. No problems.

We scheduled the appointment a couple weeks before. Informed eye dr receptionist the insurance was the same as her dads who goes there. They stated they would look it up. We got to the appointment they had not looked up what insurance it was. Since it was a Saturday they didn’t verify with insurance so it would be a co-pay. We have eye insurance that is 100% paid . They said if we didn’t pay they would not see us. Cancelled appointment. We went somewhere else. Staff was quite rude.

What lacked the most at this store was the customer service. The competency of the eye doctor and staff was also in question.When I walked in to first get my eye exam I had to ask the receptionist if there was any paperwork to fill out beforehand. Apparently something on her computer screen was more pressing than a customer standing idle 2 ft from her desk trying to figure out what to do next? I arrive 10 minutes early as requested and I still ended up waiting 15-20 minutes after my appt time: 4:30 before I can get in to see the doctor. I felt that there really was no justification for this- its not as if there was a waiting line since I was literally the only one there and there was no one else ahead of me being examined.I finally get my eyes checked by a doctor who by appearance looked to be fresh out of optical school with very little experience since he had to go through a paper print-out checklist of symptoms I may have had.After the exam, the technician/specialist was somewhat hostile/irritable. I understand that 5pm is probably when the individual/many of the staff may have been scheduled off of work, but there really is no reason to drop a 300 page OSHA guideline book on the desk in front of me while the customer is trying to decide what pair of glasses they want. And, more to the point, to see if their lens are safe to use on the job. What could have been a good learning experience for this technician on products that LensCrafters offers ended up being approached with an awkward, tired, and semi-hostile attitude.Overall this place is a solid 1 star. Would not recommend to anyone.

Came in Saturday morning with family very busy short staff and the staff made it a priority to make sure we were greeted and knew a rough wait time. Which in my opinion is all you can ask for! Destiny made it a priority to make our wait time as pleasant as possible. This location had a decent variety of frames especially in comparison to local competitors.

I came home from two weeks of travel to find a voice mail tellling me that my appointment the following day would require me to pay in full because their office manager was on vacation for a week and they wouldnt be able to verify any insurance. What?! Our family has been customers for 12 years at that location. Utterly rude manner to treat long-standing customers. Recovery plan: I called Dr. Peterson and Vision4Less on Blairs Ferry Road and guess what? They got me in right away, took my insurance without any drama queen antics, they were super friendly and were significantly more cost effective. Lencrafters can kiss my business and my familys business goodbye.

Rachel the general manager is amazing! I have been having issues with my insurance going through their system and it’s been a struggle trying to get my glasses with this hiccup but she was so patient and worked with me trying to do everything she could to get me the glasses I wanted at the best price she could. She was so sweet and tried every option and we finally got my glasses with my insurance!!! Yay!! I very much appreciate her time and kind efforts for me!

I dont usually give businesses bad reivews but this has been the worst Lenscrafters experience Ive ever had. I have been going to Lenscrafters for over 10+ years. My Dr. retired a few years ago and I moved so I decided to go to the one closest to my house. They refused to see me with out an insurance card. My vision provider Metlife does not give out insurance cards. Lens Crafters gave me 3 pages worth of Dr.s to see and rushed me out. I did not yell and continued to be polite. I got all the way home and received a call that they can see me but it would be out of network. I was off work for presidents day so I agreed. When I got there they told me the person who worked with me came from a eye clinic, was not familiar with the area and was unaware that I worked at one of the largest employers in Cedar Rapids with good benefits. Fast forward to purchasing my contacts. They told me the would not sell me them to me for my out of network price. I did some research and discovered that they were not covered by my insurance at all, So I was forced to pay full price or be seen again elsewhere. DONT GO THERE
