Love it here. The Evanston team is so bubbly and warm, and always matches the customers energy -- theyll chat with you or leave you alone, depending on what you seem to want! And somehow they keep this local feel while still serving coffee (and other drinks!) at reasonable prices with a large network of consistent franchise shops. Oh, and -- the coffee is great!

I really like this spot. Their signature ice tea is very pleasant and I love the turkey bacon breakfast burrito. Its a plus that the barista always puts just the right amount of sweetener.

Excellent coffee here. You choose your blend and its fresh ground at that moment. Coming from my partner who is a bit of a coffee aficionado, Probably the best coffee in Evanston. They do have outdoor seating here too.

Great casual coffee place. The beans are freshly ground for each cup ensuring smooth deep flavor. They also offer some pastries and teas. The staff is also really friendly and awesome to hit up for custom coffee blend suggestions.

The coffee has great flavors. I dont know if its a combination of coffee beans or added flavors. I think its selection of beans. Each cup individually brewed. A little pricey, is my only complaint.

The mission cold brew is the best cold brew Ive encountered. Go out of my way to get it.

Here for vacation and just decided to have coffee here. Had the Philtered Soul and it was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had.

I wanted to like this place but at the end of the day, its okay. The space is large and seating is plentiful. But the food choices are just okay. Coffee isnt bad. But I was hoping to find a more interesting environment. It feels very functional with bright lights, etc.Its worth trying out. Hopefully the food choices get better!

Highlights: unique coffee, no espresso-based drinks, brewed “one cup at a time” pour over style, expensive. I do love the taste of a hot Philz Coffee. They do not have espresso based drinks, but what they do have is very tasty. I normally prefer cold brew or iced coffees, but I would recommend hot here. I like the tesora. You should expect to pay top dollar though. A medium (and remember non-espresso) drink is over $4.50. If you get one with muddled mint or some other addition you can expect to add another $1. A lb of beans to take home is $18. Because of the price it seems unlikely to become most people’s morning coffee stop, but it is a wonderful treat for a coffee connoisseur. Download the app and order easily for contactless during COVID. A lovely treat and not your typical coffee house selection. Some will feel excluded by pricing. 4 stars.

Good coffee but Really Hipster

Honestly, I just wanted somewhere to sit outside and play Brigandine: Legend of Runersia, but it felt immoral taking up seating without ordering.Im also an introvert, so instead of just ordering a drink, I downloaded the app while in front of the door and ordered that way.I sat down and played. Wasnt a huge fan of a pair what seemed to be beggars asking for money - actually startled me because they approached from behind.Oh yes, I ordered the Philz tea. It was good. Im going tomorrow.

Loved the coffee and the staff was absolutely amazing and so sweet. After getting my coffee, they asked me to try it to make sure it tasted right and even let me sample one of the drinks that I was thinking about. Really listened to my coffee preferences and helped me chose my drink! Highly recommend the iced coffee rose!

I walked into Philz for the first time last week for a business meeting. The staff was friendly and the environment really nice and comfortable. Each of us ordered a coffee. As it happens, I did not order well and was not pleased with my request. Everyone else was raving about their drink. To be honest, my favorite drink is warm water. I brought my drink back to the barista, did not request or expect a refund and just asked for warm water. She was very apologetic, for no reason, offered my anything else, which refused and I returned to my meeting, happy. I looked at my credit card bill today and they refunded my card without my asking or knowing. How impressive! Definitely a place to add to your cafe stops.

Do yourself a favor and try this place once if you really appreciate a good cup of coffee.

If you like good coffee this is rge place for you.... they only serve drip coffee, but there is a huge selection of coffees and teas.... there are some baked goods to go with your coffee. The people who work there are really nice and helpful.... and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a coffee shop in university town.... bunch of young people with techno gadgets.... so I dont stand out drinking my coffee while writing emails on my cellphone 😀

Ive ways heard good things about Philz Coffee from folks who have easier access to them. I was delighted to see that a new location opened up close to where I live. The turkish coffee was delicious and very enjoyable along with the avocado toast. Absolutely coming back again.

Love the chai, coffee, and the non-dairy milk offerings. I wish they had agave. Super comfy chairs. Bring headphones if you plan to study. A few Vegan eating options. Good vibes and environment.

Ok where do I even start..coffee continues to keep getting worse at this specific location. About two months ago, I went to this location since I found out there was a different location besides the one in Lincoln Park. The Lincoln Park location was the first time I got Philz coffee and it tasted GREAT! Then, I drove by this one and was happy to know that they had more than one location. This is where it gets bad. I ordered aromatic and it tasted nothing like the one I got from Lincoln. Coffee tasted old, acidic and on top of that..it had cream that looked like it went sour??? Please help me understand this because I dont. About a month, later my friend wanted to give it one more shot..she and I ordered two hot drinks this time. AND what do you know!? Tasted again old, acidic, sour, gross. Then, it gets better..the cup was leaking hot coffee and it spilled all over her car seat. It was very unfortuate, and she had to pay 80$ to get her car seat cleaned because the coffee leaked entirely through the cup and she couldnt get the stench/stain out. After I left her car, my coffee cup also started to leak through the cup. Ok, since I felt that I only had 2 bad experiences, I was thinking maybe my third experience would be fine..and it wasnt. Again, I ordered hot coffee and once I got in my car the coffee leaked right underneath and directly on the car floor. The coffee tasted horrible. Then, 2 months later I tried it again and the coffee just keeps getting worse. I purchased the toret coffee flavor and it tasted nothing like the description. I would NOT recommend this place just because of the bad experiences I listed above. I think this place needs to stop overheating the coffee or they need to buy durable cups. Im very shocked this location has good reviews when I know some people who have had similar experience
