I have used this salon about half a dozen times in the past 4 years. They have gone through a lot of stylists in that time. The service you get is very much dependent on the individual stylist. Some are awesome and others... not so awesome. Its hit or miss. Natasha is currently my favorite person there and probably in all of Flagstaff! She is very kind and professional. She didnt make me feel bad about cutting my own hair or using box color kits. She is an extraordinary person, a very real and down to earth person in a world otherwise inhabited by divas and drama queens.

Stopped in briefly for a trim! Harriet did an amazing job! I told her what I was looking for and she delivered! My hair is a little thick and is sometimes hard for stylists to cut. The staff is very friendly as well!

I had a hair disaster that was set right with an outstanding cut and a stylist whose words and skill were absolutely the best! Overtime, appointments here have always been fun and exactly right.

I’ve been coming here for a few years and I’ve never had any problems with any of the haircuts or the people until recently. I came in for a standard haircut and what I got was the worst haircut I have ever received. Because of this I will never be coming back to this salon. My hair was pulled and my scalp was hurting after the hair cut. I went to a different place the next day to get a better haircut and she showed me the 3 inch difference on the back of my hair. I had to get an extra 2 inches off all the way around for it to look alright. I will not ever be coming back to this place. I am not one to complain and I feel terrible leaving this review but it is well deserved. I believe the stylist’s name was Ivan.

Bad experience. I got my hair cut yesterday at this Fantastic Sams location. I always just get a very basic scissor cut each time I go here and give the hair cutter the same instructions, which is simply to leave the length in the back alone so my neck is protected from the sun, and take off one half inch on the top and sides. The back of my hair went down to my shoulders. Yesterday I gave the same instructions, but by the time I left there I was pretty much scalped. My hair hasnt been this short since I was a kid. Instead of taking off a half inch, I have places where the hair thats let is maybe only a half inch long. Itll take months to grow it back to where it was!!

Well I have to say that stylist was very well! But have a issue with this Salon! They allowed a woman to get her hair done after I asked her to please put on a mask due to me being extremely High risk! I know the owner would flip out if he was aware! But he lives out of State! Shame on the Stylist who not only cut her hair but Greeted the unmasked woman with a hug and a Smile.

I got an amazing cut!! She did exactly what I wanted.

Didnt need a shampoo because just washed my hair an hour earlier but was never asked and yet charged for it. Sides were never cut, burns not trimmed. It was my b-day so I just paid the cutter and wanted to get out before I lost my cool. If I was back home, CA, my cutter does a better job in half the time and cost.

I’ve been here a few times due to being on a budget and having a crazy schedule that makes being a walk in almost necessary. I’ve gone back and forth on what to put as my review because I’m not really picky, I just want to be some shade of blonde rather than my natural brunette which I feel washes me out. I’ve come away from this place satisfied at best, but mostly I’m at least a bit disappointed. The last experience I had was pretty bad though to the point I created a makeshift scarf to go around my head to hide my hair and redid it the next day. I just can’t bring myself to ever go back here because I know it’s just not quality.

The new stylist Stephanie is amazing! Ive never looked better! Ill definitely be back to see her

I am heading there to get a hair cut now..going to give this place a second try...first time I went there the lady who did my hair was older and cut it in like 10 minutes... I felt like I was an inconvenience to her the way she was sighing..I didnt have the guts to say anything then, but we will see...how I am treated today and what my hair comes out like...first time was not good...sloppy second hair cut...like I said I felt like my business was not wanted there....

Ive been to the Flagstaff Fantastic Sams many times, and while not all of the stylists have been as good as others, Ive always had good to excellent service here and no complaints about the cuts and highlights. My most recent visit for a haircut and highlights was the actually best ever here, so thats why Im giving 5 stars instead of 4. Ive been quoted up to three times as much for the same services at other local salons.

The stylist didnt want to cut my hair the way i wanted. She made me feel like SHE knew what was a better. Cant go shorter than my hairline. Ugh. I got stuck with an ugly bob.

If you are known well by stylists here then youre usually going to give a good review. But if its been your first time here.... hit or miss. Some of the stylists are arrogant and rude like they are too good for your time, energy and money, but others are a bit more friendly after awhile. 4 out of the 10 times Ive been here I would say my hair was styled to my liking. 2 out of those 10 times customer service was friendly and helpful. Im going in again this weekend and am hoping to get exceptional service but who knows? Like I said its hit or miss.

Honestly I would have given them 0 stars if I could. The prices on the sign when you walk in is incorrect for one because on the sign it had quoted 13$ for deep conditioner treatment, after the service was done which had felt just like water splashed over my hair, which I just wanted to pay and leave I was told the total was 25$! The service was honestly not good enough to be 25$ let alone the workers seemed like they hated their job and wanted everyone to leave, and another worker was dyeing her own hair during work hours.. I called and complained that I had soap in my hair still and was told “well what you want me to do about that? Rinse it out for you.” Honestly no? I’m not driving back to have you splash more water on my hair when I can just wash it myself.. Not worth the money and service is horrible, prices are incorrect on signs. Not coming back again unprofessional business.

Terrible service.No apologies, no effort to make this right from staff. As it stands now Fantastic Sams has stolen money and is making me jump through hoops to get back what was taken.Very happy to take your money...twice in fact. Caught them at time of service, charging my card twice. I told them, and they said they would fix it.Then bill comes, charge is still there. I call and they said, they cant fix it over the phone and I have to bring in proof of the double charge...ok...Great now burden of proof and expense of time is on me. Fine.I come in with my bank statement with highlighted double charge. I am now told our manager in not in so we have no way of accessing the computer system for a return....HOW MUCH MORE TIME DO I HAVE TO WASTE!!!! I have been a customer for over 10 years, that ends today!No apologies, no effort to make this right from staff. This establishment should be avoided and I will encourage everyone else I know to do the same!

First time at a chain salon after long Covid-19 shutdown and in desperate need of haircut. Surprisingly excellent job and nice folks.

The employees are very rude right along with the management! The lady who checked us in was a bit snobby and kept rolling her eyes. I wanted to voice my issues so I asked to speak with management but the lady who was checking us out said she was management and had attitude just like her employees. Very unprofessional! Maybe it’s them being racist, but everyone else seemed to be treated fairly there!

I was in desperate need of a trim. I decided to stop in here for a quick easy trim, HUGE MISTAKE! Chasity was the stylist that I got and she did a horrible hack job on my hair. I showed her a picture, and told her where and what to trim. She turned me around when she was done to show me the back and my jaw jaw dropped! Her response was, I did the best I could. If this was her best, I fear her worst! She shaved my hair off, and chopped it beyond any kind of style I have ever known. If you take a chance to go here, take my warning seriously! You should be safe to get a mens cut or a very simple trim, NOTHING ELSE! This was a cheap hair cut that will take months to grow out! These people are supposed to be licensed!

Fiancé had an appointment for 1:30. The lady that checked her in had told us we were checked in, clearly we weren’t, she just changed the music and walked away. We waited for another 35 minutes, all while other walk ins and appointments went before her that were scheduled for later. We were then asked if we had an appointment, AFTER sitting and waiting for 35 mins and being told that we were checked in. Terrible service. If they can’t handle walk ins and appointments they should choose one or the other. Waste of time. Don’t recommend.

I am part of their rewards program. The special for this month for guys is a haircut and shampoo for $13. I was never asked or offered this promotion when in store and the text indicated no need to ask on my post. I paid the $16 plus $4 as a tip. This is my general behavior for getting my hair done. Now had they given me the special for $13 I wouldve still paid $20 after tip. So under most circumstances jobs that get tipped get a much higher percentage of tips than the services charged. Potentially the person that gave me my haircut screwed themselves out of an extra $3 just from me alone. Dont go here. The quality of haircuts and overall attitude of the workers has dropped over the years Ive been going here.

Had an appointment and came early. They still took another person before me. The stylist working were just giving an attitude of which didnt want me to be there long.One of them had their child in the salon and was getting pretty annoying bugging her mom as I was getting my hair done and washed.In the end my hair color looks a mess and made me regret coming here.I told them my concerns and the problem I had with it and they both told me that, thats what I asked for. Highlights and full color are two different things.I dont recommend anyone coming here. There are other salons and shops in town that will probably give you better service and a better job with your hair.

I had the best experience here! Mattie did my hair and he gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for! I had messed up my hair trying to tone it myself to an ashy tone and clearly I needed to get it redone. He worked with my budget and was so much fun. He even got me a water from Starbucks when I had a coughing fit! Super sweet and if anyone needs to get their hair colored or cut, I Highly recommend Mattie and the people at Fantastic Sams.

Ive went here somewhat regularly since I was a kid for haircuts and have always had great service: quick, professional, and friendly. They definitely live up to their name, and Ive never had a bad experience.

I have been here many times, gotten perms, color and many cuts.My daughter gets her eyebrows waxed & color all the time, always happy with her results. Never had an issue with employees, service or price. Its an affordableclean salon, bang trim $5.00, cut & shampoo for $15 seems very reasonable. Personally Shelbys our gurl but all the employees seem very nice.

Came in to get a full head of highlights. I was not rude in any type of way. It was 6 hours before closing. I asked if I could get it the cashier turned around to ask the girls who could do highlights. One said No, thats too much for me to do and another said No I dont want it. I felt very uncomfortable and bullied :( like your really gonna talk like that in front of your customer. I will never come here and I will never refer this place. If anything Ive been telling people to avoid this place.

I had gone here before and saw Lydia, who is fabulous! However, she changed what hours she works, and I can no longer see her. I came in today to get a basic trim, and I swear this girl walked in off the street, picked up a pair of scissors, and started styling hair. My hair looks like it was chopped using square scissors! There are parts that were cut 4 inches above the rest of it! She didnt get my part right, my bangs are uneven, and my hair feels worse than it did when I went in! Do NOT waste your time and money here! Spend a little extra and go to someone who actually knows what the hell theyre doing!

They dont listen to simple instructions. She maybe spent 10 minutes cutting my husbands hair. I could have done better with a pair of dull clippers. My advice would be to spend a few extra dollars for a professional. The difference between a good haircut and a bad one is about 2 weeks. So be prepared to ware a hat for a few weeks.

I have had great cuts here. Ive been coming up from Sedona for about 3 years. You cant beat the price.

Been going here since I moved to Flagstaff and after Cici left Ive had non-stop issues. Last time I had my stylist leave mid color because she didnt plan on staying as long as I needed and today I had a set appointment at 11am but by 11:50 I hadnt had anyone start my cut and color. However, while waiting multiple stylists passed me or said they didnt have the time or wanted to, so itll only be a few minutes. I left because I wasnt going to wait over an hour while other walk ins were taken before me.

I got a beautiful balayage. It looks very natural. Perfect. The team is really nice and there is a good atmosphere in the salon

Do not go here for an eyebrow wax. I took my daughter there on Sunday and the minute the employee was finnished her eyelids were red, sore, and swollen. It is now Tuesday and her eyelids have scabbed over, they were puffy and a violent shade if red on Monday. We suspect its a burn. We havent the slightest idea what happened.

The stylists dont listen and they dont care. They also dont know what they are doing. The lady cut my bangs in a way I specifically told her not too, and she didnt even style my hair the way i had asked her. When i went back to get it fixed i found that they had closed the store 3 hours before their closing time. They are unprofessional, overpriced, and awful at styling hair.

First time I went there it was great service and I was happy about my haircut but the second time I went it was awful the woman didnt go into detail, I asked for my hair trimmed and thin out she did it awful I asked for a bang trim she cut it any, and it was awful .I didnt like the service, I wasnt happy with my haircut

For what you pay for $15 a cut. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Dont recommend them at all.
