Went to buy a textbook the first Tuesday of classes and there was a huge line. Saw a sign that said, In a hurry? Order for pickup and, given that Amazon said they couldnt deliver the book until Sunday, I decided to order here for pickup.Not only was my book not ready until Sunday, but once I came to get the book the person helping me went into some backroom to grab the book and was gone for 5-10 minutes.I expected my book to be ready for pickup within a day and for the associate to have it right behind the counter to hand me immediately. Would not order for pickup again.

I think its a little overpriced but it is a university store. It had a good atmosphere as well.

Will NEVER EVER answer phone calls. I called 5 times every day for the past two weeks. Placed an order for a text book over a month ago and still isn’t ready. Went in for help didn’t get any answers

When on or around campus, stroll over to the bookstore & pick up a few of the college essentials. We picked up window decals, NAU attire, game day goodies, a slee of stickers and a few other non-essential essentials 😊 The service is always friendly & quick.

Of course my main gripe of any college bookstore is the outrageous pricing. Anyone who knows basic computer specs can walk into the laptop section and see the blatant scam bookstore laptops/tablets are.HOWEVER, I have always had a pleasant time with the people who work there. Even though my wallet hurts leaving, the NAU bookstore has wonderful people working there.

The employs do not know anything. Every time I need to go get something for school they either do not have it and or are really rude about it. The last encounter was when I needed a new computer since mine is broken. I went in on a Saturday and they told me to order it online even though they had 2 of them in the store already. They told me I can get it the same day. That was a lie. 3 days later and they were still in the process of getting it ready. With classes all mostly online now I kind of need a computer that works....

So far, I ordered a book online August 6, 2020. Paid extra for fastest delivery, checked on status and has been ready for UPS since then. Called several times no answer. Left message and waiting for call back. Is this an actual store? Very disappointed. Waiting for this book for an exam.Received my book on August 12, according to UPS, the book was not picked up until August 10, even though the UPS label was created on the 6th. Not sure where the break down was.

Its a nice and organized bookstore with lots of school supplies, books, clothes, electronics, and more. Its mostly student run which also gives on campus jobs for attending students. The staff is friendly and helpful and always ready to assist. Overall one of the best campus bookstores Ive been too.

I had not been to the bookstore in years since I left NAU. Its changed ALOT.

Very obvious that this bookstore is run for profit. Poor handling of the pandemic and social distancing guidelines on campus. Mostly a clothing store to take as much of the NAU parents’ money as possible. Can’t wait to never have to purchase a book through this bookstore again.

Really poor and unresponsive customer service... I’m not huge on leaving a one star review unless it’s really just a horrible experience, but I have a book access card that is useless I paid a lot of money for and am unable to use. They have ignored me entirely about issuing a refund. Almost $200 of my money down the drain.... I am not an unreasonable person and would much rather be told they can not issue a refund than be totally ignored, that’s just shady and really.... really disappointing. I paid a lot of money for something I literally can’t even use, I am owed at least an apologetic refund denial. They have my money and that’s all that matters I guess.

Visited NAU in mid summer during the coronavirus. The campus was very empty but the campus book store was open. The hours were 10 to 3 during that time. They have a large assortment of NAU stuff. Like any college book store the have clothes, hats, office supplies, and general stuff. Very helpful and friendly staff. I highly recommend.

This place is the epitome of Public Institutions with the primary objective of educating the public overcharging students for a profit.Want overpriced books, more than any retailer will sell you wholesale? They have it here!Want a terrible renting policy where the cost of the product is $45, but they will rent it to you for $42? They have it here!The only reason this place exists is to provide easy access for students, not rob you blind.The staff are very friendly, which is this only saving grace about this place.

Very clean and organized. Visiting with my daughter a future student. We were very pleased by our visit. Areas available to sit back and read or study, a charging table where you can set your devices down to charge, a pretty vast array of items for sale. If there was any criticism I had it would be to lower the cost of University swag so that people could actually get items to wear without breaking your budget. I mean branded swag is advertising so why not make you school advertisement more vast by allowing more people from more areas actually afford stuff. Even with that I am leaving a 5 star because of our experience and the friendliness of the student staff.

Purchased a spanish ecode book based on what the bookstore told me was the correct license, no way to verify the book until the code was activated, found out it was not the correct book. Bookstore refused to refund the purchase price which was over $200!

Great customer service

Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Could use several more mirrors about the clothing floor, we found one after looking for a while. That seemed a bit excessive. Cozy couches by the fire place made for a great spot to nurse my daughter after she was worn out from shopping aka running around like a crazy toddler. Lol This would be a great hangout in the winter as a local student, especially with the Mac store on site! ❤️

I pre ordered a book for the bookstore for one of my classes and there were a few girls behind the textbook counter who were really unfriendly to me and they made me feel like they didn’t want to help out. /: and today I picked up my textbook and one of the girls on the previous day was really rude. Next time I will buy my books on Amazon.

Go to Amazon. It is actually affordable. They attempt to do this price match thing but it is in the form of a gift card for the bookstore. You are then forced to spend the money there when you could just as easily buy them else where and pay your utility bills instead.

Im a proud NAU alumni and I always stop by this store whenever Im back in town. Always organized and full of great University products. Im honestly putting four stars for only one reason: Its still as expensive as (if not more than) when I attended.Go Jacks!

I spent more time trying to find someone to check me out than I did looking for my textbook. Not impressed. Amazon has everything for cheaper any way. The only reason I was even here was because I was with a man with autism that I aid for. He likes getting his books from the schools bookstore.

Ordered a book online. 3 weeks later hadn’t left shipping area. Went to the store in person - said it was coming from a 3rd party seller and they didn’t know why. Said they would cancel my order, refund me, and offer me the ebook which would be “cheaper”. Spoiler alert: I get to register and it was not cheaper, but I was desperate for the book. 2 weeks later I get a call that I have a book here. I tell them it was supposed to be canceled and I want a refund. They say no because “the return date has passed.” How can I return a book I never got??? Their employees don’t do what they say they will and don’t care, they just want your money. Do yourself a favor and buy all the books you can on amazon.

My sister has come here maybe one too many times while she was attending NAU and her closet shows it 😅 We have gotten her so much merchandise from this store over the years that we may have been their main source of income. Great quality clothes, and its helped her out more than you guys could think. Thank you all so much for your help, Go Lumberjacks!

Great bookstore and friendly

This place is terrible. Wont buy a book without an ID which is not known until you walk a mile all the way there, just for them to tell you even with all of your info pulled up. So you go back the next day, walking another mile, just for them to tell you your book they were going to buy for 20$ yesterday, is now valued at a very high amount of 1$. Just for them to turn around and sell it for 60$. This school makes a mockery out of its students and I would recommend going anywhere but NAU.

Lines are long and go very slow, over 1 hour right when the bookstore opened.. Staff never takes the phone off voicemail. I cancelled an order with an employee, online and through email and I still got charged. There needs to be more staff and more organization to help the students in a timely manor.

DO NOT buy from here!!!!! I had to order a textbook and its taken 3 weeks, received an email today saying it will be ANOTHER 3 weeks. I have an exam in my class and Im pretty much screwed because the bookstore cant get anything right. If I could give lower than one star, I would.

The selection of NAU gear is excellent. I paid about $100 for 4 shirts in various styles. Some local entrepreneurial alumni that owns an ice chest company should supply you with badass ice chests.

Organized store with a simple layout, making it easier to find what exactly you are looking for. Course textbooks and materials are plentiful and staff are really helpful and kind. The only problem is always how expensive the store is in general

I enjoyed shopping at NAU bookstore for 4 years buying merchandise and browsing Lumberjack stuff.For books, I used to buy/rent online from Amazon and other websites if it wasnt exclusive version for NAU. All bookstores are overpriced so prepare early and shop online.

Took my daughter to NAU for a tour and was very impressed by all aspects of the campus. All the buildings are well maintained and the grounds are pristine. I have been on several college tours this year and this is the only one where NAU paid for my parking. The book store is one of the best organized that I have seen also. Flagstaff is a great college town, like what San Luis Obispo use to be 20 years ago.

Every time that I have gone in they have told me they didnt have my books even though the email said I did. They cancelled two of my books and I had to reorder them.

My son is a freshman at NAU. Not only do they a vast variety of school apparel, supplies, laptops and books for purchase, you can also rent textbooks right in the store. No need to order rental textbooks online and wait a few days for them to arrive in the mail. Thats a great perk!

On August 26th, I ordered the book Can I Use? online through the NAU bookstore website. The following day, I received an email saying the book was ready for pick-up. Today (August 28th), I arrived at the bookstore at the Online Pick-Up line. Once I had shown the worker my order receipt she replied oh, yeah we are sold out, given that I already paid for the book days ago. You would think they would put x amount of books on hold for the students who already paid for it?!?!

Be very aware that the book store is possibly scamming students or are poorly trained. My daughter went in today to get a price match on a book she found for less money on Amazon and instead of crediting the credit card that was used in the original transaction they issued her a “gift card” and proceeded to charge her bank account for the gift card. So now the ridiculous $200 book has cost close to $300! Buy your books from Chegg or Amazon and save the headache.

I stopped in today to try and purchase a textbook for a class beginning this month. The price of the textbook listed online and on the shelf was $90, so I brought it to the register to buy. Upon checking out, they informed me that the book now cost $136, they had forgotten to update the shelf prices. Between July 31 and August 8 the price jumped $46, and they would not honor the price listed both on their website and on the shelf. The staff were unprofessional and expressed a not my problem attitude. Skip this dump and shop online.

Incompetence at its finest, Ive never had problems with the bookstore, until now. I came in the 1st week of school within the refund period to be refunded a book I had ordered and not yet received, and was told that it would be refunded. September 30th I receive an email saying my book was never picked up and that it will be put into inventory, meaning I was never refunded. The boss Lauren said that there is nothing she can do because it is now past the refund period. Saying that it is my fault, even though I came in after I had received emails about the book. So, according to Lauren Im responsible for her poor training of her employees, since she is the boss, that cannot put through a refund properly. Sad to know that this is what NAU has employed, a boss with rude and condescending costumer service, who poorly trains and manages her staff. My advice buy books through amazon, or chegg theyre cheaper and have reasonable return policies, I usually try to go directly through NAU that way they get the revenue, but I do not tolerate incompetence and mismanagement of staff.

Went first thing one summer day and it was dead, but I wasnt bothered by the staff and was allowed to do my own thing. The prices were high on some newer items, but there were some sales worth paying attention to and good service overall. I mean it is a campus bookstore, the prices are going to be what they are going to be, but the selection was good and I feel I found fair prices on what I was looking for.

Over priced but that is to be expected

Handles crowds relatively well, has many things inside like basic convenience store items like snacks and medicines, as well as school supplies and lots and lots of nau merchandise. They have a large tech department as well. My only complaint is that a large portion of merchandise is only accessible by getting in line, which is really annoying if thats all you want. Overall a pleasant experience, but dont go during rush times like beginnings and ends of semesters unless youve got an hour or so to spare.

Never buy books from the NAU bookstore. Always use amazon. It is much more affordable and you never have to deal with the policies the bookstore uses. They dont refund books that have not even been picked up yet. The NAU bookstore only cares about making more money for the university at the students expense. That is why it is so overpriced and why they have outrageous policies in place. USE AMAZON!

Avoid during a new semester start, its a zoo. If they would add a few more registers and not allow returns until after the rush that would be great. Staff are nice.

Because the google review system is garbage, I have to give this place a star in order to post this review. The NAU Bookstore deserves 0 Stars. I have had 3 interactions with the bookstore and all 3 ranged from bad to terrible.My first interaction was over the phone. I was out of town 2 weeks before the semester and wanted to know the ISBN numbers for my class textbooks, any normal business that sales books would say, no problem, what are the book titles? Well, apparently it is a school policy to not discuss textbook ISBNs over the phone. So I said one word, fine and hung up.The next time is when I realized the place doesnt care at all about you as a person, just a walking dollar bill. Heck, they need to have a credit card number on your account in case you loose the book or it is damaged. That I can understand, but the money I use to rent the book is suppose to be the collateral for the textbook. The workers at the time had to be new, with no supervision, and they didnt know how to use the efollett card reader. So multiple times they just wanted me to hand them my card so they could enter the card number. I do not think I was being a little paranoid when I would rather scan my card instead of having 3 clerks look at the card to type in the number when I am literally forced to. I am already paying NAU a stupid amount of money for the education, the textbooks and all the nickel and dime fees. I do not see the reason why NAU needs more money, except for raising employee salaries (including the NAU presidents 22% raise).Another time I was their was to exchange a book because the professor changed it at the last minute. ON THE SHELF, It said the book has a listed used price to rent, which is half the listed price to rent the book new. But guess what, all they had was new books. I finally got in front of a manager or supervisor after 30 minutes, and she basically said tough luck. No other business or store manager would say or do that. I agree that the customer isnt always right, but business 101, customer service is a huge part of any business, except in NAUs case.I try to rent textbooks from amazon and other places because I do not want to give money to the bookstore. I would recommend doing the same if you can. Renting from amazon is overall cheaper if you dont wait until the last minute.

Poorly run. Went there mid day on a Monday and spent over an hour just waiting in line. Prior to this I had never spent more than 3 minutes in line. They should hire back the old management team. Would not recommend until they clean house.
