Word of Mouth is right. I heard from many friends that Dean is the guy to go to for your car. I had many past experiences taking my car to other shops where the mechanics missed steps I had to go back for to correct. It was a real inconvenience.I took my car to Dean for routine maintenance. I was extremely happy with his professional, knowledge, communication style, and rugged good looks. He even offered to pick my car up for service the next time I needed maintenance. The best part is when you drop your car he has two of the cutest and friendliest dogs that greet you through cut outs in the fence, like they are the gatekeepers to Oz.Dean is the best!
The owner is super friendly and does quality work with a fair price tag.
I have had several friends recommend this mechanic. Dean is very thorough in explaining the repairs both before and after the work. He is also clean, organized and honest. I will use his service again!
Word of Mouth Mechanic is great. Dean is easy to work with and does professional work for a very fair price.
BEWARE OF THIS MECHANIC!! If you want an honest mechanic, Dean IS NOT YOUR MAN!! I had my car towed to Dean because it would not start. I chose to have my car towed 15 miles away from my home, simply because someone said he was a good mechanic.Besides my car not starting, I also asked Dean to repair my heater. I have been without heat in my car all winter. After looking it over, he told me that in his opinion, I needed to replace the fuel pump. That with his experience that it was usually the fuel pump that was causing this issue. He told me that my car also needed minor brake repair. He said he was too busy to take the time to fix my heater though. Which really was disappointing! It’s difficult because I work full-time and it’s not easy to be without my car.So, I paid $680 for minor brake repair, a fuel pump, labor and “diagnostics.” Wanting to help support a small business owner, I paid him cash. Big mistake! I even tipped him.I drove my car back home. After driving it only three times, it wouldn’t start again? So, I had it towed back to Dean. After looking at it a second time, he told me that he thought it was a “security issue under my steering wheel.” But, that he was unable to repair it and that I should take it to the dealership. I couldn’t afford to take it a dealership. So, I had it towed again, for a “third time.” I decided to take a chance on a mechanic closer to my home instead. (Richins Auto in Draper) I told this new mechanic everything that Dean had told me. He called me back within minutes of looking at my car. He asked me if I had the chip to my key fob for my keys. It had fallen out and I had it inside my glove compartment. He put the chip in and called me back within just a few minutes and said: “I put the chip back in your key fob and it started right up.“ I was shocked! He just laughed and told me that; “IT WAS AN EASY FIX!?!”He said when the chip is not in the key fob that it may start up a few times. But, that it will always end up going back into security mode and not start the car until the chip is replaced back into the key fob. He didn’t charge me a single penny either!!!(Just in case you’re wondering, the chip was not in my key fob when I gave my keys to Dean either. It was in my glove compartment the entire time.)So, I contacted Dean back, by text. I also personally spoke with him on the phone. I told him what happened. Every single time I have interacted with Dean, I have been nothing but respectful! I told him that I didn’t expect him to have to pay for the fuel pump installed. But, that I felt that I should get back what I paid out in labor and for diagnostic fees. He was very defensive. Never one time did he offer even a brief apology for this situation, nor did he ever admit to any fault.Instead he complained to me about how he should be paid for his time, because “he spent so many hours trying to figure things out.” I expressed to him that I didn’t feel that it was right that I had to pay him so much money to try and figure things out, considering how truly simplistic the problem was and how quickly the other mechanic figured it out!! Not to mention, I also had the big expense having my car towed “three different times” over this?!The only thing he did offer me, once, was that he’d refund me back $95 in labor for the fuel pump, that I didn’t need. So, I told him that I didn’t feel that he was being fair. I explained to him, that I am a single mom, making $15 an hour and that I couldn’t afford to throw so much money away. I have never heard back from him. Even though I have made several attempts. Nor have I received a single penny back. So, sadly all I can do now is spare someone else from “throwing your hard earned money out the window!”
Dean is fantastic. Takes time to explain.
Dean was great. He took the time to explain everything in detail.
