I bought my mom and her friend a pottery class for my moms birthday. They did the class in June, and they just now received their pieces just under 2 months later after she had canceled on them 4 times. Half of the pieces were cracked and broken. My mom ended up taking the other pieces to a different studio to finish. I would not recommend going here. Pictures posted below. In response to the comment made by the owner below: she says “3 hours was only about them having fun for three hours not about them walking away with products” I would have paid more for them to take the products home if I would have known it was not included. What kind of studio has people make products and not take them home?? For example if you go to an art class and paint a painting you would take the finished product home? Why would my mom and her friend come take your class and make a bunch of pottery and not take it home?? Were you trying to sell it?Also there was on many pieces broken due to “workmanship of people who were not proficient in wheel” If they were not proficient maybe you could have helped them more so so many pieces were not broken? This was supposed to be an easy birthday present for my mom that turned out to be a huge mess.
I have been going to Clay Habit Studio for years! My home away from home! The person that left the unkind review obviously has never been to the studio or has met Mia in person. I seriously doubt that she has any knowledge of the experience required to successfully use a pottery wheel. This is certainly a skill that cant be learned in three hours. Mia is an exceptional artist and a very giving person and an amazing teacher. If youre lucky enough to get to attend one of her classes youll have a great time and youll learn so much about pottery and Mia. I also know for a fact if there was an issue with your mothers pieces Mia would correct it herself. She would also make sure your mother knew what mistakes were made so that your mother would learn from that in case your mother wanted to pursue a new passion. Mia is very passionate about her art and giving people a wonderful learning experience. Personally I feel it was very unfair of you to post such a review before speaking to Mia privately about your concerns because Im quite certain if you had you would have posted a positive review.Be kind and be well .
I have known Mia Lindbergh since 2008. I am an artist in residence who rented space in her studio for approximately 7 years. I have an Etsy site (RobinRoseWaves.Etsy.com where you can see how she fires my work) I trust her implicitly with all the firing of my Art. I now work out of my home studio but continue our working relationship to this day. Im sorry to see such a negative review. She is an amazing artist with a huge heart of gold. She takes very good care of me and my ceramics. I highly recommend Clay Habit Studio.
