Very nice staff. My visit was very pleasant, other optical companies seem to push you in and out without showing care and compassion. They all seemed to really care about my wants and didn’t get frustrated with my indecisiveness. I also noticed that when other customers walked in they were greeted immediately with the utmost professionalism. I would highly recommend if you are looking for people who care and are not just there to get your money.

Today was my first appointment with MyEyeDr. It was absolutely a positive experience, from the first phone call with Matt, until I left the office. They were busy when I checked out, but no one showed frustration. I didn’t feel rushed. All of my questions were answered. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the young woman’s name who did the tests before the exam, but she was also friendly, knowledgeable and explained what she was doing. Dr Harris was very patient and explained everything to me.I appreciate you all!

Firstly, after reading the reviews from past I was skeptical. I then found out that there had been a change in management, so I gave it a shot. I will say that I have never had a better experience with an optometrist than with the staff at the Kernersville My Eye DR. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, from the person greeting me upon arrival, to the tech working me through exams, to the doctor himself. The picking out of frames was an easy process, I wasnt rushed at all and was given ample time to find what I actually wanted. I had a chance to chat with the new store manager Matthew, and what an outstanding person he was. I found out that like me he was a prior veteran, and you can really see the pride he has in his store and making people happy. I would recommend this My Eye DR to anyone and everyone 100 times out of 100.

Me and my wife purchased glasses in December as Christmas gifts for each other, well we picked our glasses up in January and we understood with covid going on things happen. Well last night my wifes glasses broke we called them and all they would say was you should have purchased a protection plan, and the would gladly sell us another frame. I am very upset the only reason we went there is because my insurance said they are a preferred partner and they garuntee products for a year.

Dr. Harris is wonderful. Staff response over the last several years is not as good as it was before corporate take over. It takes over 3 months to get in for an anual exam. They also do NOT stay open til 5 if you want to just pick up contact lenses. Twice now I have come to pick up lenses before 5pm.and doors are locked. Not a good attitude for customer service. I have been giving this place chance after for five years running and I think next year I will take my business elsewhere. Signed, a 20 year customer of this location.

My eye exam went fine and precautions are in place for covid considerations. Temperature is taken and a fresh mask provided. The doctor was thorough, took time to answer questions and was helpful. The staff member (a man) who helps people pick out their glasses was horribly rude to us, however. When you try out glasses, it is difficult to see if they will work with the shape of your face without dropping the mask for a moment...FIRST MAKING CERTAIN NO ONE IS ANYWHERE NEAR YOU, i.e. way more than 6 feet apart, and just dropping it for 2-3 seconds. This man made a big deal of it when I did this twice. Realizing that it would be difficult, if not impossible to choose glasses under these circumstances, I said we would pay for the exam and leave without choosing glasses. While sitting down to wait for my bill, he proceeded to lecture me. I told him he could stop and just prepare the bill and he got very mouthy with me telling me hell stop talking when he wants to. He then left and had someone else finish. I will not be back here, nor will my husband to whom he was also quite rude.

I remember when this office provided the best eye care service in Kernersville. Over the last couple of years, they have consistantly been on a downhill slide. In July I scheduled a much need eye examine with Dr. Harris. The earliest they could see me was November 11th. They called today, November 11th to tell me Dr. isnt available and theyll have to reschedule me for January! After my protesting, they agreed to schedule me with Dr. Day with an appointment that only had a 10 minute time difference. Now, four hours later, they call back to say there was a miscommunication, Dr. Day is not available until JANUARY!! What? I didnt cancel... YOU DID and the best you can do to accomodate me is over two months away? I was already unhappy with the customer care they provide. Dr. Harris was the only reason I tried to continue my eye care with them. I asked to speak to the manager and was told they dont have one. The Regional Manager from Winston-Salem would call me back.... No thank you because based on your response time, Id be looking at March for an appointment. I was then told Cindy, the GM would call me back. here I am, still waiting. TERRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The longer you stay with them, the worse the service gets. Dr. Harris, if you ever get out of this office, let me know.

I am only giving three stars because I liked the actual eye doctor and the gentleman that helped me pick out new glasses. The front office staff was downright rude starting with the young lady who came to get me from the parking lot. She seemed fully annoyed to be bringing in a patient. The actual front desk staff completely ignored me. The tech who came to get me from the lobby and perform the preliminary testing called me by the wrong name, even after corrected. I am not sure that I will be returning to this location. I switched to this location after my longtime eye doctor left the immediate area, but I think it might be worth driving further away to be treated better. It is a shame that the front office leaves such a bad taste in my mouth because Dr. Culler and the gentleman in the optical shop could not have been nicer.

I am a long term customer of this practice (over 35 years due to acquisition of Garber Eye Center). I first must say the ONLY reason I have remained a customer post acquisition by MyEyeDr is due to the outstanding service I receive from Dr. Harris. Unfortunately the service stops with him. The front desk staff is a disaster and seems to have a high frequency of turnover. If you call in with a problem, do not expect to get assistance, instead be prepared for resistance and reasons why your problem is not their problem and a prompt hang up without even a goodbye. I do not understand how this location stays in business with the ongoing poor customer service antics allowed to be delivered by customer facing employees.

I found the interactions with the tech that prepped me for my eye exam to be annoying. I asked a few questions.....and what I got in response was borderline argumentative with them telling me how competent they were and short circuiting the exchange with an I dont want to argue with you about it! Given the present situation where so many people are out of work and sinking into debt, I would think that anyone with a job would be pretty happy and extend themselves to make sure they keep their job. There are skilled and highly personable people that would fill that spot in a NY minute. The exchange lit my proverbial fuse. Then there was the relentless attempt to UPSELL me on frames. The associate pointing me at one rack in the entire store and telling me dont worry about the price....it wont be much at all out of your pocket. I requested to see something that wouldnt require me to out of pocket anything. I picked a couple of frames and was disparaged on my selection. Personally, if someone is going to judge me on the glasses I choose to wear than I can only hope the result is a continuum of unforgettable relentless nightmares featuring my glasses selection, and leading to therapy. I was even told that it really didnt matter where I bought my lenses and frames, b/c I was ultimately going to pay the same out of pocket anyway. Begs the question as to why there are over 9 stores doing the same business within a 2 mile radius....maybe they are competing! With so many options at ones disposal I suggest you go where you are treated like a valued customer, where no one is playing you to buy product they are trying to push and where youll likely get a better deal price wise.In closing I encourage you to note the trend on the reviews. Bad review then a good review, then another bad review, then a good review.......starting to see a pattern here? Defies coincidence and is a pattern that is highly unlikely given a random selection of customers. Based on a sample of about 30 reviews, the tally shows about 66% are really poor reviews. Given all these options at your disposal do you really want to risk doing business with a store that has the vast majority of their reviews being so poor....as judged by your neighbors and friends.

Had a yearly appointment in June. Was turned away because I had a fever. Funny, I didn’t feel hot, nor did I feel sick. Rescheduled for 2 weeks later. Came home and checked temperature with oral thermometer- normal. Went back in July ( checked temperature BEFORE going - normal). But when I got to office was turned away AGAIN because of fever! Went to car and checked again -normal! I told technician this but she said she could not take my word. BTW I live 45 minutes away. No guarantee I’ll pass test next time so I’m going somewhere else. They were fast, friendly, did a good job and after a day on the drops my pink eye was clearing up. Every person, we encountered, from check-in to check-out, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. At every step, it was made clear to me what options were available and exactly what my insurance would cover. I never felt pressured to make one decision over another and was grateful for all the information, recommendations and time provided. My daughter really struggled to learn how to get her new contact lenses in and out and the staff members were all very patient and encouraging. I have also gone to this office in KernersvilleNC since Dr. Garber opened it (and before he had this office). I have been pleased with Dr. Harris. When I picked up my sunglasses in June, I was outside, under the front door awning on a cloudy day. Normally I would go inside (I know these are not normal times) and had a sit down visit to go over the fit, etc. When I picked out the glasses I asked if they could be tinted darker, the lady helping me said yes. After picking them up I noticed that the lenses were more of an amber color, very light. The frames are brown and the original lenses in them, which they gave me, are darker than the prescription lenses!! I made an appointment to go in at a later date to have them corrected. John met me at the door, took my temp, had me change to their mask (I already had one on) and use hand sanitizer. When we sat down John was very short with me and condescending. He acted as if he didnt want to listen to my complaint, and told me nothing could be done to make them darker since they were polarized. I told him my eyes were sensitive to light, and he said that black lenses would have been better for that. I was agitated with him and went to my car to retrieve my old pair of sunglasses which I purchased from there. I went back to the door to show him the lenses were darker. He informed me that they were older and that the new ones were the color that they are and again, nothing could be done. I do not believe he was interested in making my purchase right for me at all. He has no customer service skills and should not be at the front of the office. I have also sent My EyeDr patient relations two emails with no response. I will call the corporate office next. When you pay as much for glasses as this, an attempt should be made to please the customer.

I have been a patient with this practice for many years and before it changed its name. I have always had good experiences with the doctors. Today I took my mentally disabled brother who is also a senior citizen for his check-up. We ran a little late & I called ahead & told the girl I was almost there. She said if I could get there within 3 minutes they could still see us. It was raining & I told her that. I hurried & dropped my brorher off at the door & told him to give them his name while I parked the car. I walked in & they turned us away because we went past the time. I only missed it by 2 or 3 minutes maybe closer to 2 minutes since my brother was already inside. So they rescheduled for more than 2 weeks away. I rushed & tried so hard for nothing. As his care-giver, there are challenges getting him ready & he is a little challenged walking sometimes so it slows us down. I am so angry by how little they tried to accomodate us. Turning us away when we were so close to making the time frame is hurtful and unreasonable. I spent $400 on my eye care a few weeks ago & I feel so unappreciated. My poor brother could not be helped & he was turned away & I had to explain things to him.

The eye doctor I saw was professional and courteous, as was the office staff. The problem for me came when I went to pick up my glasses. These were frames Id bought from them previously, and I was having new lenses put in them. I never received a call or message that they were ready for pick up, so after two weeks, I called them. The person I spoke with said they were in, and I could pick them up, but when I went to get them, I was told I had picked them up the Thursday before. Really? Because I didnt have glasses, and hadnt been back by there since my appointment. I have no idea what happened to them. Ok, a bit strange, but things happen. I was asked by the manager to give him some time to see if he could find them, and he would call me the next day. By 3 pm, Id still not heard from him, so I called. I was informed that he was on the phone with someone about the issue right at that moment. Sure. He finally calls me the next day. Of course they couldnt find my glasses, but if I would come in, he would give me a selection of frames to choose from for my replacement glasses. The selection I was shown was, of course, the discount frames. The frames they lost were quite a bit more expensive. I was not happy with the this arrangement, and he agreed to look up the record from where I had purchased the frames and replace them with the same ones if he could find them, otherwise, it would be the cheap frames. I decided to let it go at that, though I think I should have been allowed to choose from a similarly priced selection if he couldnt find the same ones. I waited a week and a half, but still hadnt heard back from him, so I called. The young lady told me that they had just been ordered the previous day, and it would be up to two weeks before they were ready. By the time I was able to get my glasses, a over month had passed. Additionally, when I was called and told they were there, he also said the lenses didnt fit correctly, so they were having them remade, and when the lenses cam in, he would call, and I could bring the glasses in and they would change the lenses out. That call has never come, and I picked the glasses up three weeks ago. At this point, Im done waiting for him to make this right. I will not be returning to that business, and I would tell anyone looking for an eye doctor not to bother going there.

The only thing that has kept us there this long, is Dr. Harris (who is great). But after today, that may not be the case much longer. I recently had eye surgery, and needed to make an emergency appointment. The office manager, John Smith came on the phone and said the Dr. Harris didnt have any appointments available, and refused to work me in, even though it was an emergency. He offered another appointment with another doctor at another location. If I have to go see a random doctor, somewhere else, I prefer to pick my own, and it wont be at a MyEyeDr location. I had been going to garber eye care ever since I was a child and I loved it. When ever an eye exam came up I’d always come here because of previous experience. This time I had an appointment for 2:00pm and was there and waiting early at 1:45pm. I waited till 2:39pm in the waiting room while which three different people who had arrived significantly after me filled their forms and were taken in. I decided to talk to the receptionist and informed here that I had set aside my time and made an appointment well ahead of time and wasn’t being taken in. She responded that due to a limited availability of rooms it would still take a while for them to take me, meaning I would have to reschedule if I wanted to get out of there in time. As a business in the service industry they should understand that even their customers’ time has value especially since they charge us for a portion of the doctors and the nurses and the staffs time. When this practice was privately owned and went under the name of Gerber Eye Care one of the reasons I was a loyal customer was due to their punctuality. As soon as I checked in I would be taken to the room and the doctor would shortly see me. After My Eye Dr bought over the practice, service had steadily but surely declined. I understand part of this is due to the fact that large corporations rarely have consideration for their loyal customers and are more interested with their bottom line than ensuring quality of service. I am sure that soon I will definitely be in the market for a well managed, locally owned and operated Eye Clinic

I have never had a bad experience at MyEyeDr until I went to the Kernersville, NC location last month. I should have read the reviews on Google prior to making my appointment. The experience was fine until Dr. Ellington came into the room. He immediately started bad-mouthing his staff and was visibly angry with them for having not documented on my record that I was both a glasses and contact-wearer. He then pointed out to me how they had spelled my name wrong. He made several comments to me about their incompetence and his displeasure in being owned by MyEyeDr. How can he expect his staff to work hard or even care when they work in that kind of environment? It was so profusely inappropriate that it made me very uncomfortable. The eye exam was then fine, and he did a good job explaining things to me and reviewing the photos of my eye with me--but I was so shaken from the start that it did not matter. He then left the room to go get me a new pair of contacts to try on--I thought he was coming back, but I guess he asked one of the staff to come back with the new contacts. So he went on to the next patient and never closed things with me. Then I proceeded to wait in the exam room for 20 minutes for the contacts (I was under the impression that it would be less than a minute). I ended up opening the door and asking someone for help because I thought they had forgotten about me and was worried about being late to work. They then told me that they had been having trouble locating contacts in my prescription--well, they could have at least stopped by to let me know they were looking. By the time I was out of the exam room and back out front to pay, I was in such a rush to get to work that I had no interest in looking at new glasses, even though I could actually use a new pair.

This place has completely gone down hill. My family went to Garber for 15 years. Now its so loud in the office. Ladies at front are laughing and gossiping. This is the 2nd time Ive been here for my sons yearly eye exam to get contacts Rx. We have to wait way way too long. One person just walked out. There isnt anyone in the office now but us so Im not sure why there are so many cars in parking lot. Ill be looking for a new eye doctor.

I paid $$$ to get glasses so that I could see. They are only good for reading. Cant use them to drive, watch tv, or look across the yard with them. I cant see with them but only to read. What about other than reading. I should had went andgot reading glasses for all the money I wasted.

Bought my first pair of glasses here earlier this year, and I had a great experience. Everybody was friendly, my doctor was knowledgeable and, thanks to my new glasses, I can see well for the first time in fifteen years!

I ordered a pair of glasses from them a year ago and they kept giving me headaches. They said it was because of my right eye astigmatism getting used to the glasses. Turns out I didnt have an astigmatism in my right eye, it was in my left which explained all the headaches. (Found this out from a different eye doctor) will not be going back there.

People at the front desk are extremely rude! My family had been going to the old Garber eye for 10+ years, seems like things have gone down hill since they were bought out by a big corporation. Dr. Harris and Dr. Ellington are the only reason my family and I are still patients! Not sure how longer that will be enough though.....

If you expect the great service you received from Garber Eye Center then you are going to be very disappointed with My Eye Dr. in Kville they have gotten rid of many of the people that truly cared and replaced them with a bunch of hustlers especially in the glasses center. Watch your wallet and compare online before making a purchase.

Not Garber for sure. I loved Garber and the customer service, but when they got bought out by this greedy company, I feel like they only care about making a sale and adding on stuff I dont need. Im going elsewhere.
