PADI 5 star shop with 8 boats. We had a great time diving the reefs around Key Largo. Captain Michelle was calm and in control. She took great care of us. Dive guide Brooke made our dives fun and educational. Shes an excellent instructor so you should sign up for her classes if you are in the area.

Well organized, easy to check-in and rent gear, and especially good prices on dives when you do a week’s worth! Special shout-outs to these guides: Indie who kept a close eye when the motion of the ocean was plaguing me; He got me geared up and in the water before I needed the VIP section! Faith pointed out lots of little things on the dive! Bianca was friendly, kind, and remembered us from a couple days prior! Every mate was helpful, offered assistance with switching over gear, and made sure we were safe getting in and out of the boat. Spin the wheel at the main store and you can win free dives or merch discounts.

Due to out of country travel issues with covid I decided to dive the Florida Keys with Rainbow reef divers. If you are an experienced diver do not make this mistake. This dive operation is a complete disaster. First we could not leave for our scheduled dive because the boat needed to be fueled. Next, when we reached the chop of open water a heavy, plastic torpedo buoy slid from the boat cabin roof striking me in the head. Later in the week I was issued a wrist tag incorrectly identifying my breathing gas. When I went into the office to cancel any further diving, they could not provide me with my bill due to computer failure. That night heavy weather moved in and I was glad my diving was over. At 7:45 AM my cell phone rang notifying me that my dives for the day had been cancelled. If the Florida Keys is a must, do yourself a favor and go to Islamorada.

A great place to dive! Staff are a blast to dive with. We just returned home after diving with rainbow and already booked our next trip in 114 days… but who’s counting…

My husband and my mother-in-law scuba dived and my father-in-law and I snorkeled here. We had all of our own equipment, except for the BCDs and air tanks for scuba diving that my husband and my mother-in-law were able to rent.We rode out on a boat to Molasses Reef, which was about 30 minutes, 8 miles they said. We let the scuba divers get in first before we got in to snorkel. The experience was amazing! I would highly recommend this location if you have scuba divers and snorkelers in your group. The visibility was amazing. We saw many schools of fish, a sea turtle, coral, nurse sharks, Caribbean reef sharks, and so so so much more.The crew and captain were so kind! We went to two locations in the reef, and I got pretty sea sick after the first location, so I sat on the boat during the second location dive. The crew on board was so kind to me and told me where to sit and where to look (the horizon or the clouds) to feel a little better.This company is great, they allow divers, snorkelers, and even passengers to come onto the boat.

Had 3 days great diving trips with Rainbow Reef. Captain John is as good as they come, Bianca also great guide, large operation with many boats. I felt safety awareness was important to them which I like very much. Office staff did a nice job setting up al my dives before I arrived. I would recommend them to any level of experience divers. I will return to them when in Key Largo, you can’t go wrong with these guys.

Awesome company. Very easy to work with and they keep you informed on changes way in advance.

Good service but this dive center is a large enterprise. Bigger boats lead to more people on board and kind of crowded dives. Very commercial feel. The stuff was overprotective. I had two dives and both times they told me that I was going to loose the tank and insisted on fixing it. I did multiple dives in that BCD with tank fixed the same way every time and never had problems. That was embarrassing that they kind of singled me out. After the first dive I asked another person to double check my tank but this did not help. I was stopped again. And all may be because someone complained about five lost tanks in an earlier review and I was kind of used to prove that they are doing their work. I was the last person to leave the boat for a dive. I think may be manager is harassing the stuff, demanding good reviews and making the stuff nervous.On a good side they are full service (but only upon request). And yes, they do have a fully functional marine toilet on board but you cannot use it because they do not have a place to pump out. But, to be fair, every captain at every dive center I visited starting his introduction speech with similar statement about the toilet. It’s not like I always need it but the attitude itself is disappointing.

This was my first diving experience. The trip to Key Largo was booked because my boyfriend loves scuba diving. Our instructor, Cameron, was funny, patient and very observant. I would recommend this company to anyone visiting the area interested in diving.

Rainbow reef was awesome! My friend and I had a great dive! This was our first dive after our certification and the staff and crew were so helpful and reassuring as we asked many questions! The check in/ gear rental process went very smoothly and I was so happy that once we boarded the boat we almost immediately took off. Rainbow reef makes sure to work quickly so you can maximize your time in the water!! Our dive guide Grace was awesome and pointed out eels, rays, tarpon, crabs, shrimp, conch and lots of cool fish! We will definitely be going back!

Great place for diving and getting certified. Did my open water last year with Jesus and now completing my advanced open water with him. All the staff are awesome! My dive master Jesus is very knowledgeable and helps you remember important names with cool abbreviations. Made the class easy and I get very safe in the water. Definitely recommend him if you take a certification class or if you are just going out for a guided dive.

Maybe the best dive shop in the keys. Don’t dive anywhere else if you can get a spot on one of these boats. And dove the Spiegel Grove if you have an advanced cert. I’m from Scuba Adventures in Plano and they even took a cool picture for my staff back home!

Superior sales hotline. You were given enough patience and great suggestion by the reservation people in the office. Then a smooth check-in and boarding procedure were very efficient. In the ocean, the enter crew was so friendly, attentive and helpful. If the crew could have prepared some sea-sick medicine to help those who couldn’t deal with the strong shifting, it would be a perfect experience.

I want to thank Rainbow Reef Dive Center and especially their instructor, Eugene L. Clingan for an outstanding experience while getting certified as a PADI Foll-Face mask diver. Eugene is an excellent instructor, very knowledgeable and experienced. Thanks to Eugene I can say that this was one of my very best training experiences. I look forward to more training with Eugene. We had a great experience completing the scuba diving open water certification course. We were lucky to have an amazing instructor Chad Harris. Chad was patient, methodical, well-informed, and had a great positive vibe!

Although we had good dives, the staff is quite unfriendly. We felt like rules changed depending on who you talked to. Our tanks got filled last and delayed our departure an hour and a half. Some staff seemed to be empowered beyond their station.

My girlfriend and I finished our open water courses with Rainbow Reef to get certified. Brooke was an amazing, really relaxed and thorough instructor! We saw some really cool wildlife with great visibility, sting rays, barracudas, moray eel and a nurse shark. We will definitely be back now that we are certified divers! Thanks again.

A fantastic experience. Our home dive shop recommended Rainbow Reef for our trip to Key Largo. They take an annual trip to Key Largo. Easy registration and check in. Our dive guide (Bella)was patient and helpful. This was my 11 year old daughters and my first saltwater dives so we were a bit nervous. Got to see Spotted Eagle Rays returning for the summer. Also saw moray eels, barracuda, yellowtails, lots of coral, the Christ statue, and much, much more even a couple of manatees in the canal as we waited to board. We were on Tropical Legend for the dives and Tropical Destiny for snorkeling. The captains, mates (Chad was awesome), guides, and staff were all great. My wife and 6 yr old son joined us for snorkeling the next day. The reef safe sunscreen is available on the boat. Their retail shop is right down the street and worth the visit with your boat wristband. Definitely recommend and will use them again for our diving and snorkeling.

This dive shop was by far the best one I have been to in Key West. They give detailed explanation on everything from tanks to the dive site. The crew is very knowledgeable and is willing to accommodate any diver. The best thing about the boat I was on was that I got the state provided snacks after every dive and made sure we were hydrated.After the dive they have a clean up station so you can rent and wash your gear. They also have showers for you if you decide to take a shower before getting back on the road. I would definitely recommend them if you are coming to dive in Key West.

Came down to key largo with family to complete my advanced diver class and could not be happier. Was fortunate enough to have 4 dives with two separate instructors. Both instructors Zac and Indy talked me through each dive and made both dives comfortable and safe. My favorite dive without a doubt was to Spiegel Grove. I had never done that deep of a dive but my instructor Indy was right by my side! We talked about each step of the dive prior and made a very clear/safe plan. Diving down my instructor was right with me and even able to point out a shark bellow I would have missed!! That dive now stands out as one of my favorite dives ever! If and when we come back to Key Largo I will be coming back to Rainbow Reef for all of my dives. Captain and crew helped out non stop, they work non stop in near 95 degree humid conditions moving hundreds of dive tanks. Beyond impressed with this crew/company!

We originally were going to book with Rainbow Reef. The first time we called they were nice and informative. When we called back we were spoken down to when we tried asking a lot of questions... they didnt seem to care or try to help out. We went with a different company and were happy with the selection.

Rainbow Reef is by far my favorite dive center! They have amazing customer service, awesome staff, and captains and staff are always super helpful. The boats are clean and everyone is so friendly. They take you to the great places to dive and if conditions are not good in one place they will take you to another. Could not recommend them more!!!!!!!!!!

Great crew, the dive agency my wife and I go to used Rainbow Reef for our AOW. We did Five Caves, Turtle Ledge, Spiegel Grove, and Benwood in two days.Would love to go with Rainbow again in the future.

We came to Key Largo to do a Coral Restoration dive with another dive group but wanted to get a recreational dive in beforehand. We chose Rainbow Reef since they were another group that does the coral dives and figured if CFR goes through them, then they must be trustworthy. We were not at all disappointed. They have a pretty large operation which can be a little intimidating at first, but once we were on the boat with a much smaller group, the entire dive crew was so attentive and welcoming. They did an amazing job keeping everyone informed and safe. Sadly, our coral dive was cancelled, so we booked another dive with Rainbow Reef, which was also ultimately cancelled. However, the next time were in Key Largo, well definitely choose to dive with Rainbow Reef.

Dove the 25th and 26th of September.25th was a morning deep dive on Speigle Grove with Captain “Sharkey” Mark and his crew Duane, and Trina. Great dives with no current and beautiful weather. The crew operated like a well oiled machine.And then we had an afternoon dive with Captain Michelle and crew at French reef. Great timing again with weather and great communication with the crew for both dives.Diving the 26th we were lucky enough to have Captain Michelle with crew Jeff, RJ and Dani. Shallow reefs to enjoy our last dive of the weekend.Everyone on the Rainbow Reef team we encountered was friendly and eager to help. I look forward to more trips with them in the future.

Best place for diving in Key largo. We were a group of 4 who wanted to get open water diving certified . Mustafa was our diving instructor who is amazing at what he does. he doesnt rush you to learn things and instead is very patient and answers your questions. Nate his co-instructor was also great and full of energy. while in the ocean two of us fell extremely sea sick and couldnt dive but the whole crew was there to help them and had no inhibitions helping them with anything . Mustafa known as Moo is the best guy you can work with and we are going back again. make sure you check the weather before diving as they dont take the boat in windy conditions. Also the gears like fins,maks etc are not shipped by them to you but they can be taken as a carry on if you are flyiing in to Miami or any other airport. lastly, try to get your gears a day before your course starts so that it doesn;t eat into your swim lessons in the pool . Be patient and dont rush the pool lessons, they are everything. TAKE DRAMAMINE befire boarding the boat, it helps. Its an awesome experence, do it and try getting Moo and Nate as your instructor and thank me later .

Very unprofessional!!!I am a padi Master instructor who have more than 9000 dives, Dived and worked world wide, i had very bad experience and very unprofessional attitude from Monica the manager… she was very rude and couldn’t accommodate my dives while knowing that i have very limited time in the city…. If a dive center cant communicate well i would not trust them to dive..also rude managers such as Monica should learn how to be more professional and accommodating… Will definitely not recommend

They can definitely get you to some of the best dive spots in the Keys. The staff is very friendly and courteous, and quite enjoyable. I went on 4 dives, and I am a bit concerned about the judgement and safety checking of the equipment handlers (5 of 16 divers lost their tanks due to improperly installed latches.) The site condition checking was inadequate and put people in harms way...the current way way to strong for people to dive in .

This is the best dive charter operation in Key Largo and maybe in all of the Florida Keys. I did an excellent deep wreck dive this morning (the Bibb) followed by a shallow ace therefore much longer reef dive in the afternoon. The charter cost is the most reasonable in the keys I think especially if you take advantage of the multi dive discounts. I stayed at the courtyard hotel which is next-door to the boats and extremely convenient.The crew were very professional and friendly as were the lovely check-in girls. Their shop technician helped me change out a gauge and gave me some excellent gear maintenance tips for free. I bought the new gauge at their shop a couple miles up US1 for a very reasonable price although those guys weren’t quite as friendly. They let you spin a wheel after your dive for up to a 50% discount on any item and other freebies which was nice.I’m driving to Duane wreck next tomorrow morning then another shallow reef and I can’t wait!

Quality and professional dive operator in the Keys. Several boats and experienced dive guides. Safety is first with these folks which is how it should be. Our dive guide Diver Dina was professional, fun, and really took her time with us. I also saw experienced divers being given more freedom. So from newer diver to experienced diver you wont go wrong with Rainbow Reef. Highly recommend!

The wife and I dove with this shop on 6/21/2020. We dove the Benwood wreck and part of the French reef. Both sites were amazing do dive. Our guide, Jeff LA did an excellent job of showing our group some beautiful things on both sites. The swim thrus in the reef were a blast. Will definitely be looking to dive with this shop again on our next trip down their way.

I got to say this was one of the worst dive experiences I have had in my 10 years of diving. I got the the location early and filled out my wavier, got my gear. Everything was normal but then it wasn’t. The boat was out of order due to Covid “excuses” 1 year later that they can’t allow us to use a bathroom on a 2.5 hour trip. My elderly (61) mother was told she had to use the restroom in the water it was all they could offer. I do not recommend this company. There are many others to choose from. Do your own research. Don’t support business who give every excuse to do LESS while using Covid as an excuse. If this were the case you could at least wear gloves and a full body suit and a face shield. Mask are also required by this company, they like to enforce this rule when it’s convenient to them. You would be better off snorkeling in the channel at least you would see more marine life than the horrible reef which we went to with little to no marine life. I have seen more marine life in a sushi restaurant fish tank.

I must say... this dive operation was the nicest and had then best customer service I have ever experienced in key largo. And I have been to largo dozens of times. They took care of my family and I. My son was newly certified and I hadn’t been diving in a while. Never felt more welcome! I highly recommend and will be back. Thank you guys!

Excellent Service! Friendly staff. Scuba diving and snorkeling here is great when you are on vacation mode and want to have excellent service and be taken care of - they help you with all gear, set-up and break downs, etc. They do a lot of the heavy lifting of scuba diving. You can rent all gear or only the parts that you need. You can schedule dives in advance, and change them last minute if needed. You can have passengers on the boat with you (for a small cost) if they have room. They even offer night dives a few times per week.

We did our Advanced Diver Certification and Nitrox at Rainbow Reef. Our instructor Mustafa was AWESOME. I learned so much from him, and he helped me to become a more confident diver. The dive sites were amazing. Our deep dives were awesome. We dove Spiegel Grove.The staff is super friendly, really helpful, and they pay attention to make sure you have a great experience.I highly recommend Rainbow Reef and especially Mustafa if you are thinking about getting certified

Nice operation, know what they are doing and get the job done. Only thing is that they cap each dive at 1hr back on boat, which had me returning with 1500+, but otherwise I think this operation is pretty legit. Roll calls in and out.

I’ve seen a guy putting his hand in every hole he found to trigger crabs and lobster. I would I hope the guide told him to stop. Other people were literally sitting on reef and my husband made them go away. And there’s a lot more...Maybe the crew could be more strict about the divers behavior to preserve the beautiful Florida reef. 😊

Best and largist scuba dive center in Keys. We dived 5 trips and very satisfied at the discounted price of 5 trips package. We had dive trips of 2 Molessas reef, 1 Christ statue, 1 Spiegel grove wrack and 1 Spigel grove+Benwood wrack. Among the trips, I recommand the spiegel grove and benwood wrack. You can choose a point, but it can change depending on the weather or captains opinion of that day. They said Not guarantee at booking. I think that the dive at Key largo is better than Key west because of the problem of the visibility and the current.Very kind and professional staffs. The reviews are right! This dive center is the best around! We went on two dive trips with them and I couldn’t have asked for a better crew! Our first dive was out to Christ of the Abyss and Benwood Wreck! ASK TO GO WITH A GUIDE! The dive guides know what they are doing. We had Jeff and AJ who were absolutely great! The captain and (i think her name was Jo) were also fabulous! I always felt safe and comfortable! The second morning was just as great! We went out to Molasses reef and did a guided dive again! Anna ( i hope that was her name) was also such a great dive guide. She showed us tons of life underwater while keeping us safe. One thing to remember to do is to Check the swells before you head out and book your dive trips. Especially if you get sea sick like me. The The gear you rent is nice and well taken care of! Choose this dive shop if you wanna dive in Key Largo!

If you are on a spontaneous trip and not booking well in advance I would suggest that you avoid this place like the plagueFor being such a big outfit their website is so antiquated oh it uses words like real time live quotes and rates are valid but that is complete bs then their trips arent even real time i was doing a spontaneous trip checked their site to see if there were rooms available and it said I was getting a real time quote and it showed availability so I booked a flight and rental car then only to find out they had been sold out forweeks I called and talked with john he apologized and said if I could find a room some where to head on down and I would get half price dives to make up for the confusion so I had to move the trip back by 2 day cost abit but no biggie I was going to get to dive or so I thought I got down there sunday night their web site showed 2 boats had openings and the others were full I was calling them at 7am to save my spots only to find out that isnt real time either and they were full and booked out till the 22nd if June so I asked the guy how in the heck was I supposed to get half price dives all week if they were booked out for the next 2 weeks john called me back but to be honest I hit the fu button that is no way to run business just shows me they dont dare about the individual personNever again I will stick with the smaller awesome charters that care about the individual

Super well trained and lovely instructors, ours was Luke and he did an amazing job of teaching us at the pool first and then taking us for two separate dives in the ocean. Once he saw that we were comfortable he also gave us a lot of autonomy which was great! Exactly what we needed to decide that we want to definitely get certified.

This company appeals to the lowest common denominator customer base and values quantity over quality in every way. If youre used to good vibes and professionalism at dive shops, this company is not for you. There is no chill at Rainbow Reef Dive Center. They will cancel on you last minute for minor swells. Then they will cease to tell you that you HAVE to prove that youve dived in the past two years and then proceed to kick you off the boat if you dont. Take your business elsewhere.

We spent 3 days diving with them. Our group of 9 people, the Zoo Crew, had an awesome time! Our boat Captain CC and dive guide Corey are highly recommended

I tried to book a dive trip with these guys today for a trip in a few weeks, but they said they could not guarantee a private dive guide for my wife. She sometimes has problems equalizing at the beginning of the dive, so I wanted a private guide for her so she is not rushed and can take her time. This also prevents slowing down others who would be in the group who are not with us.They said they would try but if they had a class or something come up last minute, they would have to pull them. Keep in mind we are talking two weeks from now so there should be plenty of time to schedule a private guide.So, I called another dive shop, 4 minutes down the road, and they were happy to guarantee a private guide for my wife.Its a shame because we are staying at the Marriott right next to Rainbow Reef and diving with them would have been really convenient.Oh well, still looking forward to the trip.

Great dive operation. From the very knowledgeable and friend staff in the retail store, to the great staff who work the many boats in their fleet. Very easy website to navigate as well.

Good inexpensive diving in key largo！ they go out on multiple boats everyday ranging from shallow to deep dives. They offer a free guide with your price, Ive used the guides before and also dive without. If there are beginners straight out of open water I recommend going without guide, otherwise you may have a slow and short dive.

The staff on my 2 tank dive to Molasses reef yesterday (Rachel, Maddie, and Adam) were extremely helpful and informative. We knew where we were going, who we were with and how to get the most out of the dive while operating safely. The rental gear was in nice shape and easy to use. If you are thinking of heading out in the water with Rainbow Reef then book it! ...you wont regret it.

My wife and I dove with these folks all week. Great experience with professional crew and captains. They are flexible and accommodating with schedules. We have our own gear so I don’t know about rental equipment quality. Our boats only had 5-10 divers (we dove during covid times) so I’m not sure how many they take out normally but our boats were great and safety was there priority. Thanks DM Noah and Bob and Capt Melissa.

Rainbow Reef saved our dive vacation!! Broken button on my bc threatened to ruin it. They replaced the button, found other issues that also would have caused problems and charged us only $2. They are the best!!!!

A good friend of mine who is both an advanced diver and rescue diver recommended this dive shop as one of the best in the Keys. When I entered everyone was pleasant, and it seemed like a top notch shop. Padi certified across the board.On first impression my Padi instructor, Jeff, seemed pleasant and was clearly experienced and knowledgeable. I was told when I made my reservation that I would be professionally fitted for a mask, as my friend who dives regularly explained that this could make or break the experience, and during my online Padi modules, comfort in diving gear was reiterated repeatedly in multiple sections.So I held off on buying my own mask, and opted for the professional fitting, which basically consisted of Jeff pointing to a wall of masks, discussing narrow versus wide faces, and stating “pick one.” I picked one and in short it basically glued right to my face creating intense suction, and Jeff stated, “yeah that looks like a good fit.” That was the extent of the professional Padi certified mask fitting. Not too mention the mask was $125, but I was more worried about comfort than cost, and relied on my dive master’s experience in choosing the equipment I was purchasing. I ended up spending a total of $740 for equipment and a first dive course.We then proceed to the pool to begin our training. A little background on me, I’m a doctorally prepared Emergency and Family Nurse practitioner (20 years in Emergency Medicine) I only note my credentials because absent my medical background I likely would have ended up with more serious medical issues had I progressed with the training versus what I ended up suffering.As stated previously Jeff was clearly knowledgeable if lacking in the personality department, but I personally prefer the experienced and knowledgeable a-hole vs the incompetent nice guy any day. However, while proficient in most areas, he clearing has never dealt with a condition called mask squeeze.Throughout the training my mask was either leaking and coming off of my face with any type of movement or breath, or squeezing so tight that it felt as if my eyes were being pulled from my orbital sockets, and this was only at 12 feet. I mentioned my issues to Jeff via written tablet at depth and on the surface. His response was that I just needed to relax, and the mask fit just fine.By the end of the 3 hour morning session of training the peri orbital regions of my face were so swollen that I could barely see, I suffered from bilateral subconjunctival hemorrhages, with sclera chemosis, pain and throbbing with extra occular movement, and petechiae covering my face. I told Jeff that I thought something was seriously wrong with my eyes due to my improperly fitted mask, and his comment was (and I’m not paraphrasing) “oh that’s not bad, I’ve seen worse, it’s basically a big hicki, it’ll be gone in an hour.” “Be back after lunch to do your open water”At this point, I was pretty upset, because no one else was suffering from these symptoms. I was concerned that if I went to lower depths and at higher pressures, I could suffer more serious damage. I called my diver friend who also has a medical background, explained my symptoms, and he agreed with my impression that I was suffering from mask squeeze, and told me I needed to stop diving. Which he explained was something that every Padi certified master diver should know. He also said that he could not believe a Padi certified instructor would allow this to happen in a 12 foot pool, and that this should be reported. Needless to say, but I didn’t dive the remainder of my trip.I returned to the dive shop to request a refund, and was told by the dive clerk at the desk that there were “no refunds.” But after seeing my face and eyes agreed to refund me a little more than half. With 2 full days of rest coupled with oral corticosteroids, abx drops with corticosteroids, and constant cold compression the symptoms are resolving. Totally unacceptable from a Padi certified dive shop. Also, Padi should review with Jeff regarding mask squeeze s/s.

Truly an incredibly well run company. From the safety precautions, covid precautions, knowledgeable instructions, and great rental equipment. We had the best time diving with RJ, AJ, Dena and many more that we canceled our plans and came back the next weekend to dive with Rainbow Reef again. The staff become your insta friends, and have a lot to teach you! We can’t wait to be back to dive with rainbow reef and their awesome staff! PS thanks for getting us comfortable on Nitrox!

Very professional dive center. My wife and I were thrilled with our experience with Rainbow Reef! I spoke with a couple team members on the phone prior to our visit, all of them were helpful and happy to answer questions. Once we confirmed our registration for the refresher course they informed me our instructor would call us the night before. That was a nice touch to receive the call, check in with our instructor, and ask a few final questions before our dive day. The instruction was top-notch, our instructor Shayna was very patient with us and thorough in the pool as we completed our skills practice.For the open water dives, all of the crew on the boat were friendly and helpful. You could tell that the staff genuinely cared about the participants experience. The dives on Molasses Reef were fun and offered lots to see and explore. I will definitely set up more dives through Rainbow Reef when I return for future vacations!

Best dive shop in the keys, I had Brooke as a instructor and she was absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Great facilities, gear, boats, and excellent staff. Ive seen a lot of dive operations and these guys are at the top of the quality and safety list (maybe tied with Scuba Junkies). Will definitely dive with them again.

Outstanding attention from everyone we met. Office and support staff helped us set up our dives well ahead of our trip, boat staff could not have made the trip more convenient, and dive instructor (Seanna) was patient and supportive. We have already started planning a return trip for April and will use Rainbow Reef for all of our dive activities again!
