Gloria is a great woman and very helpful in every aspect. She is a true blessing and you would be hard pressed to find someone as caring and committed to her customers. I would give 10 stars if allowed. Awesome awesome awesome woman.

They were helpful but watch your card with them. They like to change prices on you. I was able to block what they did and got my money back from my credit card because it did not match the agreement.

Ive only been here to purchase boxes (I have not rented storage or trucks). The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Unlike the old location, the new location has a large parking lot which is much appreciated.

Nicki was very pleased and understanding. She went out her way to make sure the customer situation was solve. The guys was very helpful provide care with returning and picking up they followed all protocol rules and the manager was outstanding even though she sick she was able to help her employee out with question and concern.

I dont know that I have ever written a review like this, but this place saved my day a couple weeks ago. I had a great experience with help from Gloria (the owner) Devon, and Jean.I came looking for a trailer to put a golf cart on - I needed a 5x9 utility trailer and was driving a 2017 GMC Acadia with factory pre-wiring but needed the adapter for the standard 4 wire system. I looked in 3 different auto shops but they didnt have it. I was in a bind because I needed to pick up the trailer and hit the road that day and I simply wasnt prepared. I got there about an hour before closing and tried to splice the wires myself. At about 7PM, closing time, Gloria came to check on me. I figured the business was closing, she was probably coming to ask me to leave. I was out of luck. All that was fair.Instead, her and another employee (turned out to be a district manager) came and helped me for 40 minutes and had the wiring adapter that nobody else had in stock. The owner of the business, Gloria, got on her hands and knees and worked on the wiring which I had mangled myself in order to help a customer in a bind. They saved the day and provided customer service that was so much better than fair or reasonable. They truly went above and beyond.If youre in or near Lakeland and need a truck or a trailer, dont waste your time anywhere else. They have what you need and just opened a great new shop on US 98.

This place is awful save yourself time, heartache and money by renting elsewhere. We had issues with our unit and the staff was super unhelpful. The truck we rented leaked and damaged our stuff. The process to report that has been a nightmare as well. The place is infested with bugs and I dont just mean in a Florida way to expect bugs. They were inside our bags and boxes all over my daughters clothes too.

I came to this uhaul location in search of a trailer wire harness connector for my 01 Ford Ranger, I had what I thought was the right part, but there was an issue with my wiring. Gloria came out and took a look and saw the issue, they were able to wire up a new harness connector junction for me and I was back on the road ready to tow this weekend. Awesome people at this location!

My complaint was filed through the Better Business Bureau in an effort to resolve my horrible experience with them. The company didnt bother to respond to the BBB, so my guess is they simply dont care or have so many complaints that they cant keep up.This companys management is in Tampa, FL. Never in my life have I experienced such incompetence and lack of responsibility. My advice is to run away from this company as fast as you can. I gave them one star, but only because I was unable to assign negative numbers!

Theres only one staff attending customers and she is also answering calls. It takes quite some time for her the process a single customer and we waited quiet some time. While she was attending a customer, she is putting all calls on hold and because she has few customers in line waiting for her, the calls are not being answered or routed. Why I know? I called after I got my rental to ask some question and I was on hold more than 30 minutes until I gave up. The good side is, they have good selections of truck, Vans and trailers.

Good location and quick if you do things online.Not very organized at times dont really have signs saying hey if you ordered online you can pick up outside. But after you learn super quick and easy.They have everything you could need for packing and moving and prices are reasonable.Order online and save yourself the time (usually, 30 min even if youre the only person).

The man who helped us return our Uhaul, Devon, was so nice! It took him no time at all to get the trailer off our truck and he answered our questions with a positive helpful attitude. Awesome service!

Dont come here for propane refills. I had to wait for over 45 minutes so they could send someone from a different store to refill my tank. Poor customer service.

We rented a U-Haul last week and were charged the appropriate rate of $84. Yesterday there was a new charge on my account that was fully processed (not pending) of $77. I brought a receipt in today to the store to show the manager that the charge posted to our account. I spoke to the owner who informed he was not the owner, only owned shares (which would make him an owner, even if only partial). The GM was also there along with an employee. All three showed very little concern and said there was nothing they could do. When asked if we should handle it through corporate, we were told we could but that the reply would be the same. My dad has a thick Dutch accent. I am not saying this is the reason we were treated so horrendously, but they made a mockery of us when all we needed was help resolving the issue. We have now paid twice the price, and will not let this issue go unresolved.

Horrible. They sent us to a different location to get a larger sized trailer they didn’t have at their location. However the new location didn’t exist. The address was wrong and the phone number didn’t work. Very disappointed. Ended up spending more money at a different place. Waste of time.Just tried to return the trailer and was charged a fee for returning it to the wrong location, even though they said we could return it anywhere. Never using Uhaul again.

Rented 26 truck in Port Charlotte, Fl. At around 10 a.m. Uhaul offers a free month of storage with the rental. The salesperson I here called the Uhaul location in Lakeland on North Florida Ave. To see what size storage unit would be available and the girl there said she would check with the manager and call me back. I received no call by 1:30 and so called them. I was told they were having technical difficulties and she had customers in the store so could not answer my questions. Said she would call me back. Associates should know what their promotions are and be able to answer. Also the first time I called them the phone was picked up and then hung up. Not a good experience.

I must say out of all the places that I have been to I really like this place. I found the dynamic duo of Chris and Norberto to be a force to be appreciate these two individuals were very accommodating and displayed the utmost professionalism. Thanks again for your service. You guys are truly an asset to the company. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a hitch installed or for all your moving,storage and traveling needs.

They were nice and helpful over the saying it would be fine to drop off a dolly there and not were it was rented from after having the hitch break on the vehicle trying to keep U-Haul equipment safe. By only taking it a mile away rather than 10 miles back to original rental location. They did not at rental location or on phone or in person at new drop off location give details about an extra charge till after dolly was unhooked and they said one amount at drop off station on n. 98 in Lakeland, it was offered to be put back on vehicle and taken back to original rental location. They said that wasnt possible because it wasnt safe. Then got home to find out they took 25$ more than quoted price for fee at drop off location. I do not recommend them this is not the first time to be ripped off of by U-Haul.

I rented a 15 van and was overcharged for fuel and mileageU Haul rep had me sign MANUAL PAPERWORK verifying mileage and gas but did not provide a copy. I LEFT with 1/4 tank and RETURNED with a 1/4 tank and got charged $16 fuel charge?!? I drove 4 miles to my destination, moved the contents from one apartment to another in the SAME COMPLEX (300 feet away from each other) then returned drove the 4 miles back. MAXIMUM 10 MILES as I estimated. Got charges for 22 MILES??! Called the location and they say they cant find the manual paperwork?!?My rental was for 10AM I had to wait 40 minutes even though I did the online checkout. They advertise being open until 4pm; I arrived 3:25 NO ONE THERE! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!

Update: this location has now updated their security which now includes 2 extra steps just to access you own belongings. You now have to: park, go inside, give them your drivers license, go to a security keypad, enter a number you didnt chose, then you are given a key that unlocks the Uhaul redundant lock, and finally you are able to unlock your own unit. It didnt used to be this difficult to get your stuff. Because of all this and them increasing the monthly rent accordingly Im out, I will simply take all my stuff home.

Smooth to deal with through and through, from the moment we secured the truck via phone, we picked the truck up, moved, and returned the truck in the parking lot without ever having to go back into the store! Great prices and courteous service! Thanks! :)

Ive used this U-Haul location for three separate moves. Theyve always been helpful and courteous. The equipment is standard U-Haul fare and is often a little older, but the service is good and the prices are reasonable to rent a truck.

Supposedly a 24-hour drop off location. Equipment return center was locked off. Another customer was there, just as confused as I was. Customer service sent a rep out there who was over 20 minutes late and took his time in the office before attempting to leave on bike. If I had not said anything, he would have left, despite making eye contact. He would not give me his name and told me to leave the truck outside the gate - leaving the utility dolly and back of truck unsecured. Showed me the key drop which was NOT labeled because people would try and stick their hands in there otherwise. Man at the location was rude and even had the audacity to charge me a CLEANING charge the next day! I mopped out the truck before I returned it! What a joke!!! AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!!!

Always use this Uhaul location because Mike is the best. Any problems I have had I ask for Mike and he does his best to fix/correct. Youre the best Mike

We moved from Metro Detroit to Lakeland, FL in July. We dealt with a few U-Haul places along the way. Including one near Mammoth Caves, KY that let us store our trailer in their lot so we didnt have to tow it as we drove around town. U-Haul has great customer service.

Im pleasantly surprised at just how great of a service I got w edit th Michael! Everything went swimmingly and he even did his best to make sure I got the best deal on the rentals. The trucks were in tiptop shape and drop-off was a breeze.

Everyone was helpful when it was time to pick up my rental. When it was time to return it they checked me in right from the parking lot. If you have to spend money renting a truck its great that they make everything so smooth.

It is almost an hour round trip for me to get to this place. I took 4 propane bottles to be filled. Was told State shut them down to fix something. Would have been nice if they had that on website.

Terrible service. Wouldnt allow me and my husband to rent a car dollie for our worker who was stranded in Tampa because it didnt have the capacity to tow that much weight. We have a 2010 Titan XD that was built to tow. Unenthusiastic about helping us. They lost a great sale because they were inconvienced by us coming in 15 minutws before closing. Do not recommend. UHaul is good as a whole but not the Lakeland location.

I recently rented a trailer and they hooked it up for me. I get down the road and the lights dont work. I bring the trailer back and the give me another one and hook it up. I drop the trailer off at a different location and they say this hitch has a dent. Im looking at the guy dumb founded because Im clueless.. The location that received the trailer files a claim and I get a call from the adjuster advising that I need to pay $135 to cover the hitch.Im giving a 1 star because I have called numerous of times to talk to the GM to get this matter resolved and no one is taking the initiative or calling me back.I keep getting tossed around and put on holds for 30+ minutes or better. If I damaged their trailer, I will be glad to pay. However, I shouldnt have to be responsible for a dent that was already their.Heres the kicker, Im flagged now so I cant rent from Uhaul until this bill is paid or the claim is with drawn. I went to go pick up a trailer so I can move and I was advise that I cant.. All the people behind me in line are whispering about whats going on and embarrassment is starting to set in.I just want to be Great and have a pool one day like Kanye 😊

I called for over a week trying to make my payment and no one every answered the phone. I finally tried their corporate office and I went through the same thing. I tried to use the website and so it wants to go Id sign you up for auto pay. I was also charged a late fee for being a day late. I work out of town and everything is paid by phone or online. Im getting my stuff out of here.

Everyone that we dealt with had a very bad attitude and was made to feel like we were a nusence to bring our business to you so we will use a different dealer next time.

I went in to buy boxes and was in a very bad mood. By the time I walked out I was in a much better mood. And had what I needed to get the job done.

I called ahead for a 5x5 and verified the sum total of my bill would be $55 plus tax, period. I specifically asked about administration charges and the like and was told it was that price only. I arrive to move in and all of a sudden, BAM! They hit me with extra costs, from the minimum required insurance amount ($10) to the lock they forced me to buy from them ($10), I was extremely disappointed. Mandatory insurance? I cant use my own lock? The sales guy was indifferent to the fact an employee told me otherwise!Beyond that, access is easy and location is convenient. However, I wont be giving U-Haul anymore business after this month is up!

Wasnt that bad when i rented a storage space 8n June but the storage units are unusable now with they way they have it set up. Dont expect to get to your storage unit because chances are its blocked by a truck or trailer. Its insane. Why such a mistake of a change was made is beyond understanding. Avoid this place for storage. Ridiculous.

Terrible job on trailer hitch wiring installation. Customer service is bad, never answer the phone or call back. They put the wrong wiring box in my car. When I brought it back after it stopped working in less than a week, they wanted to charge me a complete new installation fee plus the new box. It was never correct and never worked properly. They dont do a good job and dont honor their work. Go to Hicks Welding.

Had a hitch and wiring done hitch seams fine but the wiring comes out In my trunk that is not right and now I am getting the run around from everyone including the GM Mike now what I have to spend more money to make it Right Garry MacArthur

I rent a truck 3 to 10 times a day never have an issue leaving a cash deposit as I have history with Uhaul. Michael requested I have an additional form of meaningful assurance as he felt I would steal his truck, I was appalled at his remark and could not begin to understand why a manager would make such a statement. He chose to continue with how he was only following procedure. So after a brief discussion I provided an additional form of meaningful assurance. So as he began the rental he hands me the R&D tag and request I sign and initial prior to seeing the truck. I found this completely absurd as he wanted to follow procedure. After another brief discussion we finished the contract printing and I met with Willie who helped me with the checkout processs. Willie was a great help and did his best to get me out as fast as possible. I did mention to him that the fuel was about 15/16 and the mileage was .1 off from the dispatch paperwork so he corrected it on my paperwork and got me on my way. Upon return Willie got me checked back in quick and easy. Michael had a few other rentals ahead of my return. the refund was process with no issues. I just found Michaels behavior questionable and his statement very rude. Ill never recommend this location to anyone again.

Don’t go there. There are issues with their trucks and trailers. Their equipment even caused damage to my vehicle. I took my truck to GMC and they confirmed it was issues with whatever trailer I was using. I went back to U-Haul and in a cocky manner they said that their trailers are perfect and would not cause the issues that GMC told me they were. He kid didn’t even go check his trailer and said there is nothing they can do. Now I’m out of the money I had to spend at GMC as well as the four hours I spent at GMC. Very disappointed in their customer service. I wish I could take back the times I used them.

We were moving my parents from Virginia to Florida. The POD we rented was filled before we finished packing, so we rented a U-haul trailer. It got the job done. This is where we dropped the trailer off. The process was relatively smooth.

The rep here fixed issues with our reservation and offered a solution to get us out quickly. We were very grateful.

Only u-haul, I will rent from in the area . Friendly service, nice clean trucks and almost always has every size available. Has after hours drop-off and will assit you in any personal adjustments when renting your truck (ex: adjusting mirrors)

Horrible customer service. 2 hrs to get a truck so at the end they tell us they don’t have one after all the time waiting.

I rented on the 24/7 and the location DID NOT prepare the truck for me for my 8:00am pick-up. I waited for an hour until they opened at 9am and they acted inconvenienced that they needed to prepare my order for me... They were rude and disorganized.
