Ive been going to this place for years. They were always competitive compared to Home Depot on pricing, if not better, but lately I feel like Ive been overcharged. I just bought three 2 x 8 x 10 treated #2 lumber plus two 2 x 4 x 10 treated boards. The home depot price for this was $40 less than what I paid. I had a bunch of 2 x 4s delivered to the house a few months ago for another project. Once again, price was way out of line with what the big box wanted. Whats going on? Buyer beware
Called today to ask about 1/2 thick lumber for a small outdoor project (not available at Home Depot/Lowes or Tart). i was immediately put on hold at the customer support desk. it has been a constant recording loop for 30 minutes now without anyone coming back on the phone even to say please continue to hold. the funny thing is the recording keeps reassuring me that my business is important to them and please hold the line. my question is, for HOW LONG?! complete waste of time...easier to show up and get into the face to face queue as they dont care about telephone inquiries.called again a few hours later trying to save the trip. same deal (see picture).i drove over there *bugged* only to discover immediate help at the customer service counter (*now more bugged*). complete waste of an hour as they dont have anything to offer for my project. sadly a quick 1 minute TELEPHONE conversation couldve saved a repeat customer lots of frustrations and time.
After waiting and roaming around for 25min at the warehouse, I found what I needed, and loaded up the materials by myself, I drove around to two spots and got what I came for.!! Dont believe me? Check your videos! BS! the warehouse guys and pickup is a disaster. There are about 10/20 guys on forklifts riding around and nobody wants to help, they all look at you and just drive past. This has happened every time I come here. And after they see your paperwork, they still tell you that you are in the wrong place or area to pick up. Like I really dont even know where they keep the materials that I want?, . Stay away from this place, just go to lowes or homedepot
Wow! This is a DIYs dream store. All the weird stuff you could possibly want is rite here.
Great local business to buy lumber, hardware or any other building products you need.
This is a good place for tools and house materials.
I highly recommend this TW Perry location. I tried to work with the Gaithersburg location and it was slow going. Switched over to Bob at Leesburg and found the customer service experience better. He was responsive and I was able to actually talk to him. I’m a home owner, not a contractor, and I needed a little more hand holding than many customers (ex. I had no idea what an astragal or flush bolt were!). Bob took the time to explain everything and help me measure the openings, etc. My special order is now scheduled for delivery a mere 5 days after order!!! HD was quoting 5 weeks! If you need doors in a hurry call Bob at TW Perry!
Courteous, Professional and actually a True Building Supply house! A great find in Leesburg!
As a contractor, TW Perry is top-notch. They have a vast selection a building materials and supplies. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant.
Nice costumer service
Friendly customer service. Super busy place.
Great place, lot of material and good customer service...👍
Great staff, great selection, decent prices...very good spot for specialty lumber and decking needs.
Good selection of items but just wish they would have regular check-out lanes in front instead of a booth at the rear of the store. Makes no sense and have never seen this in another store. The receipt they give you is on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper from a desktop printer. Not very professional in my opinion.
Do not buy from them. They would not sell lumber to me because I did not have an account. I guess cash isnt good anymore. I ended up having to waste half a day. Thank you t.w. perry! Ill make sure I never buy any overpriced building materials from you!
Excellent customer service and stocking of lumber & millwork. Great prices.
Very helpful to shop at TW PERRY !!
Good materials
Just called looking for pressure treated lumber. Due to a shortage they are only selling to customer with accounts. Only looking out for the big guys and not the smaller customers. Ill remember that in the future.
I went in for some window pane glass. They dont sell glass any more, but a nice lady named Shelly gave me a referral to another vendor. They have good selection of building materials but the prices seemed a little bit high.
Very helpful
I was recommended to TW Perry because they have a huge in-stock selection of Trex composite decking. I went in and met with the salesman who was very helpful in recommending the necessary materials and hardware to complete my deck. The materials showed up in my driveway several days later (no delivery fee for orders over $1000.00).I had miscalculated a few details and I had to return to TW Perry to obtain additional Trex boards on two separate occasions, and on a third occasion to return some boards I did not use due to my design change. On ALL visits the customer service was less than welcoming and I felt as I was almost inconveniencing the counter staff who processed my order(s).I was sent back to the yard on all three occasions to obtain and return my materials. On the first trip to the yard, I was unfamiliar with the process and waited patiently for assistance. There is no queue in the yard, nor a central point of inquiry. Most of the yard crew are driving around on forklifts putting together large orders (I assume for delivery). If you want to feel invisible - go to TW Perrys yard with a giant van and wait for someone to ask you if they can assist you.I finally approached someone and asked about obtaining the materials on my invoice. He told me I was in the wrong part of the yard and directed me to the lower portion. I went to the lower portion and flagged someone down on a forklift who told me the materials I wanted were on the upper portion and someone would help me up there. I went BACK to the upper portion and still was unable to find someone to assist me. I finally went wondering around, and told someone I needed to pick up two boards next to my van, and he told me to go ahead and load them. He never looked at my invoice or checked to see what I had loaded. The second trip back to the yard I was familiar with the process and was able to be in and out of there in only 20 minutes to pick up four additional boards. I was prepared and not disappointed to play the invisible patron game once again.Third trip to return some boards was about the same. Finding someone in the yard to assist me was challenging and I had to speak to three individuals to find one who was the willing. The place is probably OK if you just need to pick up some hardware or tools and youre not expecting a friendly experience. I trust their bread and butter is supplying contractors with large orders and not necessarily catering to individuals who need a screwdriver. Because they ARE open to the public, they may want to consider some customer service training - or not. I will say that all of the individuals who finally ended up assisting me in the yard were very professional and courteous. I imagine the forklift drivers have to stop what they are doing to assist individuals like me and it is not their fault there is not system to alert them a customer may be in the yard requiring assistance. Itd be nice if the desk help could notify them a customer is coming and will be needing to pickup xyz...I would go back for Trex materials due to the immediate availability, but itd not be my first choice for standard home improvement materials (which may be their desire for average consumers).
Tommy Hall is the man! Friendly and knowledgeable about the Stihl products he sells and services.
When you are a contractor and need to be on a job site and you come here to Leesburg VA store, I hope and pray that you dont have to be on your job soon as you will be in the lumber yard waiting and driving around in circles looking for someone to point you in therightdirection, as many men who work here in the yard, sitting in there forklifts doing absolutely nothing but pointing you here and you go there but the next points you somewhere else, when a all along not one of these men moved from there parking positions, to provide any kind of help. Did I mention they are just sitting in the forklift with feet propped up like they are on vacation. VERY DISAPPOINTED and now late to start work
TW Perry is outstanding! They helped me find closest to the replacement part for a piece of plastic deck trim that the manufacturer has quit making. They spent time on the phone with manufacturer and then found suitable replacement when manufacturer no longer had. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP
I have been working with TW Perry for many years now as a contractor I have a great sales team that is always ready to support pricing and information. We work with Team Grafton, they are responsive and competitive, The outside e yard crew is also very good the place is clean and organized.
They were out of 2 items I needed. They dont seem interested in catering to small contractors anymore. If it werent for the original staff there,I would stop going.
I love the store. I build the a huge deck and I remodeled my house with most of their product. The crew outside are friendly and helpful. I do have to tell the front team are awful, they are rude, it almost feel that you are inconveniencing them when asking for their help. Probably one of worst experience I have had on several occasions. So why do still go there? well its simple they have what I need. Almost every time I go there they down talking trashing the Latinos contractor who are big portion of their clients. so sad, that I have to go there.
Always friendly and plenty of wood...
Customer service was excellent
Extremely rude on the phone. I greeted as usual with my name and was met with an extremely rude angry old lady. Will never do business with people who treat customers like burdens.
Luke is absolutely fantastic and makes sure that he provides me excellent information and helps me get the products I need quickly. Thank you for being a reliable source!
Good
HI I have been into T W Perry at least a 100 times in 5 years. I go to the retail store and find mostthings I need, no they dont have everything you want, but for a lot of the stuff the average guy needs, there Easy to get to, inside the Lessburg circle and no waiting, so its either 15minround trip or 45min. The prices are not to bad either, and they pick up the ph. GREAT PLACE.OH !!AND NEXT TO THE POST OFFICE.
