We have used uhaul many times without issue, however, this weekend we were rented a truck with an apparent fuel leak. Upon our inspection right after we brought it home, we saw a 1/2 inch HOLE IN THE GAS TANK. Someone had drilled a hole into the tank to steal the gas. They don’t inspect these vehicles apparently and this could have been a deadly situation. Absolutely unacceptable and I do not feel comfortable renting from uhaul ever again.

First I was called to say they did order in time the hitch receiver to be installed for my 2021 RAV4. I was instructed to buy my own from a third party and they’d facilitate the install.They requested I drop off my car an hour earlier than my appointment because they were ‘ahead of schedule’. A job estimated for 2 hours actually took 5 hours. Never go here again. Completely incompetent and complacent staff.

Sat and waited in the equipment return for a good 10 minutes. Even called em and they put me on hold for about another 5 minutes. Finally went in there to tell them I need to drop the trailer off and not only were they just standing there doing nothing while I’m on hold with em, the dude “working” there gave me a little baby attitude. Highly recommend going somewhere else so you don’t disturb them.

The incompetence levels at this store are overwhelming. We made an appointment for a trailer receiver installed and they forgot to order the part and canceled out appointment day of. Then we bought our own receiver and they charged us extra on the install for a 3rd party part. Then it took them over FIVE HOURS to install after telling us it would take 2. Then, the cherry on top, they kept calling my number erroneously to tell me other cars were ready. AVOID THIS LOCATION!!

Great experience at this location! We had an issue with our trailer hitch and lights when trying to rent a trailer, and they had their hitch guy come and help us out. He solved the problem immediately and we were able to get on our way. We were last minute renting a car trailer and these folks went above and beyond to get us what we needed in a very timely manner!

All of the employees throughout the years have been great to work with.Mark Martinez is by far the best manger this store has ever had. I showed up 10 minutes before they closed and from the moment I walked in the door the male employee made it clear that he resented me being there and would do whatever it took to get rid of me quickly. All I needed to do was exchange a few boxes but after being interrupted for the third time while I was trying to explain this I was told he was closing and I would have to come back tomorrow. I havent had a customer service experience this poor in years. Strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Poor service, I reserved a truck, then on the same day of pickup, they didn’t have the truck available. That’s understandable but I agreed to a $50 dollar discount before I picked up the truck which they didn’t credit me...They are (way) under staffed. The on-hold wait times are 20 plus mins. When I returned the truck, I was accidentally charged a fuel surcharge which was wrong. I picked up the Truck with only a 1/2 tanks, this caused me to have to fill up twice instead of once.I’ve been on hold to correct this and it’s now over 20 minutes.The truck was a horrible ride and bounced up and down the highway . I’ve rented a few trucks from Penske and never had this type of ride. I thought my new door that was in the cargo hold was going to snap in half.

I rent from uhaul about 10-15 times a year for the past 8 yrs, 90% of which is business. I’ve unfortunately been trying to move my home as well as finish a huge commercial project for a client downtown Denver. Things have happened: I called to keeps the reservation one more day longer which meant it needed to be back today. Well I’ve been so busy I figure they’d call around 10:30 when it was due back if it was needed for someone else. Instead I get a call at 18:12,as I’m making last drop of countertop to client, saying if it’s not returned today they’re going to report it stolen. I’ve had trucks longer than agreed on and always communicated or made sure to not mess w each branch’s flow. The fact no one called me all day until someone needed it right at that moment is BS and then to be threatened like that is BULL and unprofessional as F. I, of course am going to return the truck tonight (as I l have left my personal car at their location and as much As I love to ask friends for a ride or pay $.59 a mile plus gas to eat... sarcasm, and I don’t count the $20/ day bc my business covered that)I’m not an idiot or a thief and don’t appreciate being called out as if I was one bc someone messed up their job and know that if you had a reservation for tonight, you damn sure better have called before 18:12 making threats. I will not be back to this branch and as a backup start looking at other options and what other competitors have to offer now after 8 yrs.Bad form.

This location is understaffed and had all of my phone calls forward to another representative. My pick up time was changed without my knowledge or approval because of “a computer glitch” and when I called to have this reversed I wasn’t able to contact the store. I had to wait on hold 15 min for the scheduling team who sent me to customer service on hold for another 10. After pleading my case despite my reps (Denise, Debra) initial refusal to help, I was put on hold again for 10 minutes. The situation was only solved when she returned and briefly stated my reservation had been changed back to the original time. No apology, partial refund or sympathy was given.It was difficult to find the drop off location for an after hours truck return. This location claims they will charge a $30 fee for not returning truck keys with rental contract. This is only stated in small print on the front of the store. It would be helpful to have heard this from staff or on the website or perhaps on the drop off tutorial we finally found online.U-Haul ap worked great and was seamless.Staff was very friendly once I made it into the location. I was given a courtesy call to inform me that my rental was ready early and so we picked it up early.Overall not the experience I would expect from one of the country’s leading companies for truck rentals. Might as well put your money in smaller businesses!

I didnt need a truck - this time - but needed information about a program I was told U-Haul has called Take a Box, Leave a Box. We just moved here and had several lovely boxes we felt someone, somewhere could use. I couldnt get a different U-Haul Center closer to us to answer the phone even after several tries. So I took a chance and called this location on the other side of town from us. So glad I did! What a lovely man their General Mgr. is! Charles Evans answered the phone immediately and very patiently explained the program to me and answered several of my questions. Even though this exchange would earn them no money as I wasnt renting equipment or buying boxes, etc., he put me at ease as though I were the most important customer in the world. We dropped off our boxes there this morning for the recycle program, and it couldnt have been easier. Thank you, Charles! Youre a gem!

Left my vehicle overnight after a hitch install since they close at 7 and I didn’t get off work until 9. Well they decided to keep my car unlocked and it was broken into. They stole $300 prescription sunglasses, all my personal info in my registration and countless other things. When I call the “owner” said “well we did tell you what time we closed” which apparently means they don’t take the time to lock cars that aren’t theirs. Literally the worst customer service I have seen. Do not go here, plenty of other reputable places close by.

Find a different Uhaul store, there are better employees.The employee who helped me was too flustered/in a hurry to give me the help I was wanting. I wanted to buy a few items in the shop to help me with my move, but the employee was wanting to rush me to the rental to help with the next customer. I wanted to spend more money with the service, but because this employee brushed me off, I decided to get the materials elsewhere.When I returned the vehicle. I waited outside for 5 minutes, then the same employee came out the door and told me to hang on a little longer. 5-8 more minutes. My ride called me and asked me where I was, my ride then entered the FRONT DOOR and confronted the same employee, and the employee asked what he could do for him. This employee had completely forgotten he had just told me to hang out in the back for a few minutes. He had no intentions of returning in a timely manor.They BOTH walk out the back door, and he inspects the vehicle, writes on a tablet, and I leave.If it was that simple, why did I need to wait around longer? If he doesnt like his job, why is he still working there?

My main car had to go into the shop unexpectedly and Charles was able to get me in with 24 hour notice to have a hitch package installed on my second vehicle. The customer service was great from the front desk to the technician who installed my hitch. The hitch itself works perfectly and is exactly what I needed. This U-Haul is my go-to place for propane. I own a food truck and come here regularly. The people here are always friendly and willing to help and its always a great time every time I come by. Recently today,I needed a last-minute propane refill and got to the location 1 minute before they close and Keegan was the man who service my propane and did it with lightning speed and with a smile. Props to this U-Haul location for helping me out even thoughI was there minutes before they were about to close. They helped me out a lot and they continue to do so weakly. Thank you guys so much!!

Absolute worst experience Ive ever had dealing with any company of any kind. After installing faulty equipment into my car when I had a hitch installed, and then not texting it to make sure the wiring worked, I paid that. Big mistake on my part because once they get your money there is no form of customer service whatsoever. I have been on the phone everyday for over a week now, and every time Im told Ill get a call back or the parts not in or they have the part but have no time to do it and I will get a call back at the end of the day. Still have never been called by them. Theyre incapable of Performing the tasks you pay them for, and make no effort to effectively perform the tasks they were paid to do

They have a bell with a sign that says “bell works :)”...only you’ll wait and no one will come, then you go inside and they say “oh I never heard it, I’ll send someone right out” so you wait some more...AWFUL service here, I’ll go somewhere else next time I need propane.

The experience with renting through U-Haul on Santa Fe had a few ups, but even more downs. I had an after-hours drop off, so nobody was there to check me in.Pros:-I was able to get my rental 45 minutes early.-The store was clean and organized-The clerk was knowledgeable, but only when I askedCons:-An employee came up to the front desk, was very disgruntled looking at his personal cell phone, then proceeded to throw his phone onto the counter, in a fairly aggressive display of anger-The truck had damage to it, luckily it was annotated.-The A/C did not work while the truck was in motion, which was not ideal when it was 97 degrees out. The vehicle could possibly have been switched out, but wasnt-I was charged $25 for not folding the 3x blankets that I used. While this might be company policy: 1)$25 seems a little overboard, 2) it was annotated on my receipt that there was a note listed in Moms Attic which is nowhere near the blanket bag. There are notes printed all over the truck, dozens of them actually. The only reason I knew to return the blankets at all was because it was printed on the blanket itself to return to U-Haul. The only instructions I received from the front desk was to park out back and return the keys in the key drop. The signage in the check in area has no light on it and very vague instructions. I feel this charge is unfair.For these reasons, I will not rent from U-Haul ever again and I will not recommend to a friend.

He apologized sincerely for the issues we encountered during our rental, and offered us compensation for our troubles. This gesture, as well as his sincere concern and apology regarding the issue we had, have redeemed this location considerably and I would once again consider using them for future rental needs, or recommending them to others. I will always use U-haul for my moving needs because of Mark. I made the mistake of reserving too small of a truck and he helped me correct MY mistake with no trouble. It took extra time and he didnt seem irritated or bothered at all. He said it was no problem and helped me to get the right size truck for my move. Go to this location and if Mark helps you, you will be in good hands!

This is the second time I have used this UHaul facility, and it was an excellent experience both times. The staff provided great, friendly, service. I was checked in and returned the equipment in just minutes. Also, the vehicles were new. They seem to have just about anything you need at this larger location. Also, the office is clean! There was a slight hiccup with my order and Mark came up with a great solution that was totally satisfactory to me. Great customer service!

This is the most disrespectful company who put our growing family and things in so much danger and then didn’t even have the courtesy to attempt to make it right. We rented a small tow behind trailer to move all of our most important and memorable items back to the east coast where we are relocating. In the middle of our trip we were flagged down by an 18 wheeler and pulled off to see what they were frantically trying to tell us. The axle on our trailer hauling our things had snapped in half and was hanging on by a thread! At this time a huge storm rolled in with flood warnings surrounding us. We had to have the trailer towed onto a flatbed (which broke many irreplaceable items) to the closest Uhaul in which the town truck driver and employees of Uhaul were shocked at what a horrible oversight the Littleton store who rented us the trailer had done by renting us such a damaged trailer. We were given a new trailer and then asked to move our things alone in the pouring down rain with absolutely NO shelter and might I add I was 7 months pregnant and traveling with 4 of our pets! After arriving home and being absolutely horrified of all the inevitable water damage to our things from the swap mid storm when we called Uhaul to make a complaint and request a refund TWICE we were never even given the courtesy of a follow up phone call.Sincerely disappointed,Ashley and Ryan Butka

Abysmal customer service. They were unwilling to elevate a problem to customer service, but once it was closing time were eager to call their manager and the police (because I wouldnt leave while I was on hold with 800-GOUHAUL) so they could go home as soon as possible.When picking up reservation, they deemed that my out-of-state drivers license (presented with military ID) was invalid and blamed it on their system. When I requested that the matter be elevated, they said to call the 800 number to get help within 48 hours which did nothing to help me with my reservation that day.While waiting on hold with the 800 number, they asked me to leave so they could close. When I told them i wanted to wait until I had a chance to get assistance from the only source of elevating issues, they threatened to call the police unless I left. Even though I had not been aggressive or threatening not had I raised my voice or even cursed, their manager had them call the police-solely so they could clock out on-time after creating a situation.They only started being truly considerate when they passed on to their manager (over the phone) that I had reached customer service through the 800 number and said that if police responded and the eployees pressed charges, I could see this situation as justifying a suit for damages.I cant believe how little this location values customer service. Maybe their hands were truly tied by a higher level, but either way do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere!

I liked U-Hual for my moves in the past because it was always fast, reliable, and easy. This time was the exact opposite. I reserved a truck and tow dolly for my move. When I arrived to pick the truck up everything seemed alright, I did not get the dolly then as I was told its much easier to load the truck then come back for the trailer. Once I had the truck loaded and went to get the tow dolly, things got bad. The employee hooked up the dolly and did an inspection(I didnt get an answer as to why this hadnt already been done, I had made this reservation about a week earlier) and it was discovered that the left light on the trailer didnt work. The guy working went through a bunch of checks and had to call someone to ask what to look for and so on. After about 30 minutes of that, he told me that it was a connection from the truck to the trailer so I couldnt just get a new trailer and that he did not have the knowledge and equipment to make the repair. He then told me I was going to have to call U-Haul roadside assistance(yes, while in the U-Haul parking lot) and walked away. Once I contacted the roadside assistance and the mechanic was sent out, he told me it was the light that was out and the connection from the truck was just fine. After it was finally fixed about 3 hours later I went back inside to make sure no other paperwork needed to be signed and that I was ready to leave. The guy that originally helped me was behind the counter but another gent asked if he could help, I told I wanted to make sure I was good to go. He asked the original employee if he had signed my paperwork and the laughed and said oh yeah, haha, i signed that like 3 hours ago haha After waiting around a parking lot for 3 hours because this guy apparently doesnt know how to use a test kit or do a inspection before the customer arrives, I got laughed at. I cant say this makes me want to use U-Haul in the future.

We couldnt be more grateful for his readiness to help us with the electrical hookup for our dolly this morning after arriving at the wrong uhaul service station than our original appoinment! We had literally called everyone from the dolly manufacture, to having a mechanic look at it for an hour with no resolution! He put a new plug on it, checked our fuses, and it worked like a charm! I had made a reservation 2 weeks in advance, plus called the night before to confirm and extend my existing reserveraiton. When arriving at this location on time at 11am early I learned that there were no trucks available and to come back at 2pm and they MIGHT be able to get me in a truck, of which I heard them tell another guy the same thing! I wish the GM would of listened to our situation and offered up another solution like they did at the 830 Wadsworth location!

This U-Haul is terrible. I have never spent less than half an hour, usually much more waiting for the staff to help me. And this most recent time they did not have my U-Box ready on my move in day, which I had TOLD them previously, forcing me to sleep on the floor my first night and move in the next day. The staff is unhelpful and rude, and barely seems to understand their own business

I had set up a hitch to be installed, and there was some miscommunication and somehow the wiring harness was not put on. So I flipped out hollared at a couple employees, left the manager Tim a nasty message. Checked my messages later and he had called to ask if I needed the wiring harness and I missed it. So all my fault. went in there the next morning and apoligised and got it installed. If I was them I would have told me to take a hike. They treated me very well.

Terrible customer service. When I called Uhaul in order to be directed to this location,the main office told me they were instant messaging with the manager, and they assured me I would be called back that day in regards to my complaint. I waited 3 hours (til almost closing time) and was never called.So I called the location directly, where someone told me the manager was busy - and that they had left me a voice-mail and email about my situation - both of which were lies, as my phone never rang - and I had no voice-mail, and my inbox and spam folder had nothing in them . I dont appreciate being lied to and misdirected in order for the management to cover their butts.I just hope my situation is truly resolved as I was told it was.

Forewarned is forearmed.I made an appointment 2 weeks prior including complete description of my car, make and model for a simple hitch install. The morning of event, I called and confirmed my 4 pm appointment.I arrived at 4 pm only to hear that the Tech person had gone home for the day. No one else could do the job. i agreed to return the next day after the absentee manager agreed by phone to cut the labor cost by 50%.The next day I arrive at for what was to be a 30 minute install. Upon check in the Tech advised me he was first going to lunch because he had not eaten all day. One hour later, he advised me that they ordered the wrong hitch after he had already jacked up my car, lowered the muffler and the heat shield. after 20 minutes of arm wrestling with the Tech and the manager he found the correct hitch, installed it then tried to charge me 40$ more than the quote. Back to the phones and the manager.End result, they up-charged me only 7 USD. Draw you own conclusions. A company should take pride in their work practices and stand by their commitments without punishing their customers. I cannot obviously recommend this Uhaul location for anything.

If I could give this Uhaul Center 0 stars, I would. The first time, I rented here, they didnt give us a key to padlock of the truck. We called them to let them know, and they never called us back, and we have to take bowlcutters to break open the lock.We had to rent from them again a month later (the closest location) and I called them to see if we could extend the day, and they were unbelievably rude. Worst customer service I have ever encountered any where! If you can avoid this Uhaul location, I would at all costs!!!!

Do not make reservations by calling u hauls call center or online. They will mess it up. Make reservations in person. I rented twice from the call center and when i showed up to pick up the reservation was wrong or non exsistant. Luckly the employees at the store were able to fix the mess up and get me out the door with a trailer. They saved this review.
