Whats not to love about the Oceanside harbor? - - Calm water just begging for you to take out a paddle board or a kayak and explore.- Lots of great places to eat. Everything from seafood, to Italian, to Mexican cuisine.- A couple of really cool dive bars- And the most gorgeous sunsets youll see southern California.Parking can be a challenge at times, make sure you either come early or you park and walk from other locations around the harbor. Whatever you do, please do not park in the boat slip parking spots. You will most definitely get fined and its just not worth the risk.Outside of that, bring your pets, bring the kids, bring the family and have a picnic at the tables located near the docks & keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and seals that like to come in
Our harbor is beautiful. Its a nice walk from end to end. Small craft harbor so the boats are not too large to catch a nice view. You can rent watercraft, take off for sightseeing or fishing from the tourist docks. Sea lions lounge in the sun (they stink). Bird life, fishing pier, restaurants, etc, its a great place to visit.
Nice little area to stop by. A few seafood restaurants and souvenirs shops. The coffee shop was a good stop on the walk to the beach. When you get to the T in the road to turn left towards restaurants, you can instead turn right and just past the small fishing pier is a sea lion platform. Fun stop for kids and animal lovers!
Beautiful place if you was peace of mind or a nice place to meditate or just sight see.
FANTASTIC!SUCH A FUN TIME!REALLY GREAT AND FRIENDLYVENDORS!!HAPPY HAPPYHARBOR DAYS!!!MY 25TH YEAR AND LOVE IT EVERY TIME!!!SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY!SALLIE CAVES
Quiet harbor. There were seals and sea lions. Plenty of parking and places to eat.
My favorite local harbor to kayak. Lots of marine life. Lots of mariners. Good place to retreat from the So Cal freeways and suburbs. Boats galore.
Great little area right on the harbor. They have lots of restaurants, gift shops and they have paddle board rentals. I would highly suggest renting paddle boards here if you plan on going paddle boarding while in Oceanside. We used another paddle board shop and they gave us hard boards that were very difficult to transport to the harbor. Its very convenient to just grab your paddle board and get right into the harbor. I also saw sailboat rentals and whale watching tours. If youre looking for a quick bite to eat and a good drink I would recommend Tonys.
The harbor area has a small town feel. Its cozy and has a family atmosphere. Theres lots to see on top of all the boats here. The restaurants lining the harbor are all packed. The delicious food comes with an amazing view. Watching the sun set was beautiful.
Went to Joes Crab Shack. One of my favorite restaurants. Great atmosphere and just all around amazing!! We had reservations so wait wasnt long at all.
Completely worth a stop to duck in and out of cute little maritime shops for gifts and treasures. Take some time to watch the boats come in and out of the harbor or tourists paddle around canoes. Not to be missed is the lighthouse restaurant that serves the best bowl of seafood soup youβve ever had.
Adorable Harbor. Such a fun atmosphere. Amazing restaurants & shops. Our 2 yr old son LOVED looking at the boats. We even saw some seals one night.
I could not believe how nice everything was. OK, I got lucky and found a free parking spot. It was so nice seeing such a variety of shops and activities. My group enjoyed the excellent food at The Strafford at the Harbor restaurant.
I love the harbor. Theres so much to do! Missing the sea lions right now, they should be back! The eateries are fun and most are delicious. They are on the pricey side, so its not the normal quick bite at the beach type of food. But they are good. Theres fishing boats that leave out, you can grab a ticket and head on out with them. The whale watching boats are awesome, especially during whale season! I would suggest checking out groupon for cheaper tickets!Update... as of 07-19-2021The sea lions are back. The are fun and relaxing to watch the play in the water and bark at the others.
The harbor is a quaint yet lively place, particularly in the summer months. There have been quite a few changes lately, with a lot of renovations and restaurant expansions. We ate lunch at Dominics where we had a meatball sub and a sausage/peppers sandwich, plus a few beers. I have eaten at Dominics before and I really want to like this place, but in my opinion it falls short in so many ways. The food portions have always been on the skimpy side and the servers have never seemed to have a good handle on things, from information to service. Ordered beer - brought out two bottles but we had to ask for glasses. (Please ask me if I want a glass when I order...). Brought food out, had to ask for napkins. Brought napkins, had to ask for a fork. Etc. Otherwise, its a good place to sit outside and watch the boats come and go and people head to the beach. So while I think the harbor village is a great place to walk around, people and boat watch, buy a few souvenirs and get a bite to eat, I would suggest checking out some of the other food offerings available there.
Clean beach. We went later as the sun was setting. Water was too cold to really enjoy but if we had been a few hours earlier we could have spent the day.
I love it here, Ive been going with family since I was a kid. You Absolutely have to check out Harbor Fish & Chips, Hands down Best fish and chips, calamari, clam chowder and homemade tartar sauce in San Diego, Local Family owned restaurant thats been in business for decades. I love to get the food, then sit outside and watch the water and marine life.
Out of this world Fish n Chips!!! Cole slaw tastes like my moms home cooking and the fries were airy and perfect. Clam chowder is anothing thing to write home about...π€
Fun place to visit, had coffee at nautical bean coffee company. Lovely view of the harbor.Awesome! Bought souvenir sweatshirts. Nice!
Best fishing trip ever, on the Chubasco II boat.
Love this little area, very pretty, close to the Oceanside pier and beach. All within walking distance. Camp Pendleton is right next door, maybe a 4 min. Drive to both the front gate and back gate. There are restaurants, gift shops, boat rides, paddle boarding, and kayaks to rent. It is a busy little place but lovely.
Nice beach area to hang out. It would be nice if they had more public parking and less boat parking. Theres always so many empty spaces for boat parking
This is a nice little beach place. Shops and eateries. My stop here was brief, but Ill be going back to explore more.
Come here for a breath of fresh air.
Great views! The stores were nice! And the restaurants were good, my family would say Great!I thought it was a little pricey and the food I had was over cooked! But that was just one restaurant. So over all a good place visit
For first time there the food was just amazing and the view was beautiful you couldnt ask for a better place to eat
Good food in this beach area. Very scenic. Lots to do & very family friendly. Worth going to this area at least once.
Such a quaint and comfortable place to hang out. Easy beach access, easy access to restaraunts and shopping. Really nice little spot.
Our visitors from Missouri loved our beautiful harbor. We spend a lot of time relaxing and sight seeing.
Food was outrageous, accommodated my Daddys wanting salmon only, so kind! Forgot our cheesy- garlic bread. Brought it at the very end of our meal so they were kind enough to take it off our bill. Great wine! Fabulous server! My Louie salad was out of this world
I wish there were more than just food. So much traffic yet so little to do other than eat and drink. I love my little beach since we bike there from the North River Trail. I just wished there were more attractions.
This is one of my favorite places in Oceanside. It is fast, friendly, reasonable and walking distance from Worldmark Oceanside. 1. I really enjoy Oceanside anyway, 2. This place us one of the reasons. Fancy? No, but good? Yes. The first time I went I was surprised at the prices, they did seem a little high, but when I got the portions, I understood the price. Huge fish fillets, they come out hot. This place is always busy, at least when I have been there. The line moves pretty quickly though.
Nice peaceful village with good restaurants, water in the harbor had no oil stench... Maybe its because they have fewer boats compared to busier harbors.
A nice morning walk with the family. Good food, drinks, shops for the kids to buy some souvenirs. Calm and relaxing and just a couple minutes to the beach for some BBQ and Ocean playtime. Cant wait to visit again.
Nice place to spend an hour or two.. Lots of good restaurants. Peaceful relaxing atmosphere
Dont get crab legs unless you being your own way to cut them open..to soft to crack open and didnt have scissors or small fork. Waitress was awesome! When spending over 370 they should provide what you need to eat your crab!! Frustrating and disappointing!
Decently priced attractions and restaurants. Cant wait to return!
Great ocean views with boats, lighthouse and awesome restaurants for the whole family, couples or just being alone
Not too busy when I got there the beach and parking lot were well kept and attractive for visiting until I went into the mens room and my opinion changed immediately. Both toilets were full and either clogged or have not had their due attention in a long time that night.
One of our places in San Diego when we visit home. The fish and chips are the best and laid back atmosphere is the same its been since the late 90s. Great little shops to buy souvenirs and grab a coffee or ice cream after the beach.
This place is amazing.....beautiful scenery.....ample parking......awesome little shops and restaurants.....cant go wrong.
Oceanside village has, several food & beverage options, souvenir shops & nice marina. Great for people watching.
Staff was helpful with my questions and assisted me making a good choice for the fabric I needed for a kind of an odd application.
Always love to come down here everybodys always friendly theyre always seems to be parking bathrooms are located in great locations theres a boat ramp Little sandwich place they got it all
I was born at Camp Pendleton & have lived in Oceanside since 1963. Cant even imagine a better or more beautiful place to live in!
Beautiful harbor. Very clean place. Cute little gift shops around the harbor. I would recommend to go to the gift shops. They have really cool and unique stuffs. I bet you, you wonβt be able to stop yourself from buying anything. There a lot of eateryβs as well. If you like sea food then you have lot of good options to go. Clean, beautiful, small walk around the harbor. Oceanside beach is just a walk away from the harbor. So you can park your car at harbor or beach and can move around by walking. Which is quite convenient. There are enough places to free park your car. Good gateway for small vacation.
Tourist attraction. Thats exactly what it is. Everything is at mark up so bring your cards. But dont forget that youll pay an extra large fee to swipe that card.
