I have stopped in to Greenstreet cycles numerous times and have never been disappointed. From tuning, adjusting, fitting, new tires, seat and general knowledge they are the Greatest. The staff have sure made my riding more enjoyable.
On my way home from work stopped by for a fix on my left front brake. They had it fixed up in 30 minutes and even touched up all the other brakes. I bought this bike used and it’s better now than when I bought it. Thanks guys I’ll be back if I have any more issues!
I had my heart set on a Cervelo Caledonia and this shop had the only one in my size within about 500 miles. I informed them that I was driving the three hours to their shop to have a look, and they very kindly assured me they would not sell the bike from under me, and they did not put any pressure on me to buy the bike when I arrived. The bike was set up perfectly when I arrived, and the staff stayed a bit past close answering my questions and making sure the size was indeed right. Though I had eyes only for that Cervelo, I noticed the selection at Greenstreet was unusually good. Im happy enough with my buying experience I might even go all the way back there for some of my cycling needs.
Both staff members were less than friendly like they didn’t have to talk to me. Not sure why the stuck up attitudes but won’t be returning. Went to endless trail afterwards and the gentleman was extremely friendly and helpful.
Got myself a good bicycle. Nice shop. Friendly staff. Impressive bicycles.Bit expensive. They open by 11:00 which I find a bit late, especially in the weekend.Their admin processes are so-so. My reservation got lost, then, in the rebound, booking took 10 minutes (with a nice, somewhat confused guy asking me for data I had provided before). He was friendly. The process was a bit clumsy. The output was very OK. Nothing really bad.The coffee shop in the same space is very nice. The bicycle was good. Price & process offer room for improvement. The place is OK. I am a happy customer.(I got a lengthy mail from the manager because I did not give him a 5 star rating. He was upset.)
Phil Rivera at GreenStreet walked me through a new bike purchase and was super friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service. Answered all questions thoughtfully and never felt rushed. He also went above and beyond to find me a bike during this pandemic rush and I’m so grateful. He made sure I had everything I needed to be successful. Definitely will be back for all my repairs and service needs!
Went in for an air pump, left with a Cervelo. Alex and Phil have been amazing to work with. Friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great advice. Shop is well stocked, clean, and there’s coffee - what more could you ask for? I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
Bought a used bike from the downtown Omaha location from these guys. I was looking for a solid road bike that wouldnt break the bank to see if I wanted to get into cycling or not. Found one here, went and checked it out and it looked good. Was told by the people working it was tuned and fully inspected before they put it for sale. Little did I know I would have to spend roughly $250 more dollars on adjustments/parts/tunes that 100% should have been taken care of by them. For instance... had to get derailleurs adjusted before I even went on my first ride since they clicked so much, had to get a new derailleur hanger, and a whole other tune from a different bike shop before I even felt comfortable riding it. Oh... and not to mention before I took it to another shop for the derailleur adjustment, I took it back to Greenstreet to look at and they said they took care of it.I have never written a review on any other company before but I have also never been disappointed in a company. I guess I was too trusting in the fact that a local bike shop was going to be up front and trust worthy. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere for any bike/service needs. I just would never recommend to anyone that they can trust these people.
Always a pleasant experience. And even when things aren’t right, they go above and beyond to make them right. Love you guys/gals!
I changed my review from 5 stars to 3 because the bike is beautiful but their repair service isnt the best.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don’t know much about bicycles so I went in with a lot of questions and the staff were helpful. They have a variety of different types of bikes. The bike I took home was a simple hybrid and I have gotten a lot of compliments on the pretty mint color of the bike.UPDATE: I took my bike to get its brakes fixed. They were behind 3 weeks schedule, which is fine, I was willing to wait. What bothered me was when (after my bike being in their shop for 2 weeks) I called to see if they had looked at my bike yet, and they said they couldnt start because they needed my permission? As if handing in the bike to them wasnt enough? So I told them yes, please start service. One week later, and they still hadnt even looked at the bike. I ended up just taking my bike back. I thought it was a simple brake service, so Ill be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
Dont waste your time! Terrible service and no selection. We called ahead and they assured us that they had gotten in the type of bike we were looking for. When we arrived at the shop, they only had two of the type of bike we wanted on the floor (we wanted a hybrid bike - you know the kind you see about 90% of cyclists riding). We stood by the two bikes for over 15 minutes and no one even greeted us, much less offered to help us. My son and daughter then went and stood directly in front of the counter and it took the staff over 10 minutes to speak to them, upon which they were told they did not have any of the type of bike we wanted in our price range. The staff didnt even bother to come out from behind the counter to show us anything or give us an indication of when bikes might be available. Given the complete lack of interest in running an actual retail business (i.e. demonstrating basic salesmanship, greeting your customers, stocking products that mainstream customers would buy) I get the impression that this shop is just a hobby for the owners. If you are a triathlete who wants to buy a multi-thousand dollar road bike and are friends with the owners you may have a better experience at this shop. For everyone else, I suggest you go someplace else.
Professional, knowledgeable staff. Alex was super patient with my many questions and indecisiveness.
Great bunch of guys here. Came in with a minor repair and they helped me on the spot! Thanks.
A piece of my bike was stolen over the winter, and not knowing exactly what piece I needed / how to fix it, I walked in with my bike last Tuesday and they fixed it up in 5 minutes and sent me on my way. Friendly, quick, knowledgeable customer service. Would recommend to anyone!
Wanted to support local rather than shop online, and came in for a few accessories for my bike. Wasnt greeted by a single employee, and even after trying to get the attention of a guy at the counter nobody seemed willing to help me. This was at 12:30 on a Sunday and it wasnt busy. Shop was clean and stocked but whats the point if I cant get any assistance? Guess Ill take my business to amazon, wouldnt recommend coming here if youre looking for decent customer service.
I went into Greenstreet Cycles it was pretty busy so you may have to wait for a little while. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They checked my bike and aired up the tires for free. I bought a new saddle and I’m very pleased, so much more comfortable. Thanks!
Stopped Sunday for a few items. Great selection. Excellent advice and assistance 👍.
Excellent and enthusiastic staff. I was having problems with my bike and they went above and beyond for me to get it working again. Couldnt be happier with my experience there
Just had Ben complete a fit service for my bike. Deep dive with no stone unturned. After replacing a few parts to properly fit and correcting others it feels like I’m on a brand new bike. My ride now feels comfortable and confident. Ben and his staff are very knowledgeable. Greenstreet has bikes and components for cyclist who know the difference will appreciate.
Greenstreet Cycles really cares about their customers. We had some issues with our bikes so they took our bikes back and gave us a full refund. The bikes were not the right fit for us. I recommend them to everyone!
I went to Green Street with saddle issues that have prevented me from riding my triathlon bike for the last few years. Ben spent TWO HOURS with me helping me out trying new saddles to find one that fits best. He was patient, kind and genuinely wanted to help. I have not had an experience like this at any other bike shop. Green Street Cycles is one of a kind!!
I had a great experience working with Ben and the rest of the staff. Great service!
Awesome place and people! Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Not only did they hook me up with the best bike for me they made custom adjustments to make sure my ride would be smooth. They even let me test ride before I bought following one of them on a route of the city! I was in great need of some new apperal in which they answered the many questions I had about the proper gear. Thanks again for keeping it real and being awesome! This is my forever bike shop!
I went into Greenstreet Cycles to buy a helmet and a car rack for my bike, and found them to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable. While I shopped, they did a checkup on my bike and aired up the tires for free! Although you may have to wait a few minutes when they are busy, it is well worth the extra time to have professionals who love to bike help you and recommend what works for them! Wonderful people!
I purchased a FOCUS Mares AX from Ben, owner/operator and overall rad dude. I was in the market to get a bike and was upfront about what I was looking for. Ben was incredibly helpful in making sure I got what I wanted after I dragged it out a couple of weeks. Ben runs a bike shop, but he is all about community and what revolves around that shop. From setting up group rides to working to get a coffee shop, MUG LIFE, RIGHT in the shop, its not just a store, its all about the relationship. Greenstreet Cycles and its employees want to help educate people that are willing to learn. They arent trying to sell you something you dont need. Its one of the friendliest bike shops in the city.
This bike shop in downtown Omaha is the bomb! Cool urban feel with an even cooler staff of mechanics and employees. I rented a Specialized hybrid bike while visiting from out of town and these guys set me up with a great way to put in some miles and were super helpful. While I was in the shop I heard them giving advise to a few customers on a new bike and I was impressed with their knowledge and low/no pressure. Very nice folks!
Met Justin today looking for a good place for us 20-22 inch riders in the 402. Rumors are a Haro order is coming... very friendly and knowledgeable associate. Hopefully a place for BMX needs in the future. We drink coffee too!!!
I have purchased my last four bikes from Greenstreet Cycles and each time I have been completely satisfied. Ben and his staff have a great selection of bicycles and accessories and go out of their way to assure that their customers are satisfied with their purchases. Prices are excellent and after-sale service is outstanding. They are always welcoming and ready to assist with any questions, adjustments, or repairs. I would highly recommend buying a bike from Greenstreet Cycles!
Their space may not be the largest in Omaha, but these people do a huge job when selling bikes. My first two bikes were stolen, over $2200 gone. But because Greenstreet keeps great records, and helped with the police report, my bikes were recovered almost 5 months later. In the mean time I had replaced the stolen bikes, again through Greenstreet, and like my new bikes better. The selection is huge, the service is great, the store is not gigantic, but their support is amazing. Great people at Greenstreet... oh and their pricing was the best I found in town, if price is your primary concern.
Best bikes, best price, and fantastic, knowledgeable, low-pressure staff. A very pleasant purchasing experience!
Nice folks, great bikes. Not a lot of selection but knowledgeable staff. They seemed a bit understaffed when I last came through but still let us get a nice tryout of a bike and got us a sameday tuneup on my current bike. The coffee shop inside is a great side attraction too, amazing cold brew.
My first visit to Greenstreet was a good one! I was greeted by Ben, the owner. I was not sure if I needed or wanted a new mountain bike, but it was on my radar. I told Ben I loved riding the local dirt tracks and trying to improve. I asked what would help me go faster, compared to what I currently ride. He showed me the Focus carbon fiber hard tail line up. I had never even heard of Focus, the light weight and quality components had me interested. After a brief test ride I purchased the Focus Raven 4.0, 27.5. Amazing! My first run on the trail shaved minutes off my fastest times! Its only been a week, and I have improved on each ride. This bike is a blast to ride, it is fast and light. I call it the Rocketship! I am thoroughly impressed with Focus. Also, with Ben and his first class shop. I look forward to spending more time there, and on the trail. Thanks Greenstreet!
The staff here are my go-to guys for anything bike related, particularly triathlon bikes. You won’t find another shop in town with the knowledge the staff here has about triathlon-specific cycling. I bought my Cervelo P3 from them and I love it. Ben fit me perfectly- I’m so comfortable on my bike.Biggest thing is customer service. I had a last-minute brake issue with a race coming up in two days and Matt basically dropped everything to figure out what was going on. It wasn’t a quick fix, either. I’ve also had great experiences with Seth, James, and whoever is working. Love Greenstreet!!
This shop is great. Bought my brand new Specialized from here. They have great service deals and packages and their once or twice a year sale is totally worth it. Also, the coffee shop, Mug Life, is amazing.
These guys were very helpful! Got my shoes and a converter for my shoes for my mb cleats all set up! Also the insoles definitely helped me out! Thanks guys!
If you need anything related to riding this is the place to go. Ben and his crew provide the best service, gear, parts and bike selection Ive seen. The bike fitting Ben provides was extremely thorough, and made an extreme difference with comfort and speed on my bike. I am forever going to Greenstreet Cycles.
I do not recommend this bike shop for shipping bikes. First, the shipping date promised was delayed by more than a week. Next, my bike arrives in San Antonio late and badly damaged. There was $280 worth of damage: a pedal was missing, the derailer was damaged and the chain bent. Initially Greenstreet offered to make it right when contacted by receiving bike shop. Then, in an effort to get clarity on the damage, Greenstreet started dragging their feet and blamed the receiving bike shop for the damages. I have shipped my bike many times and I have NEVER had ANY damage to my bike. The most likely reason for damage to my bike would be poor packaging. The bike should have been packed better to absorb improper handling. The receiving bike shop took the high road and absorbed all costs of the damages!
Phil and Matt they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I have never been disappointed with the service and even after I break or mess up thier hard work they always are there to pick up the pieces. Great selection of bikes and good people.
Got a tire repaired after puncturing the tube for 8 bucks. Was able to purchase gear necessary for repairs and then got a tune up for my bike. They completed the tune up 2 days earlier than expected at a fair price.
Service wasnt remarkable, but the rental bike was in exceptional condition. Felt like a new bike. Great location and good variety of Specialized products.
Unbelievably helpful! Came from recommendations from several friends due to the high level and personal service! Very glad I was led to this place!
Excellent store with great staff
Green Street Cycles is where its at. They do a lot to separate themselves from the other shops in town. The shop itself is a very welcoming environment, that is just about as far from a big box store as you can get. I have always received very sincere and un-biased advice on any questions or concerns I have voiced. The service is honest and genuine, and performed in a very professional manner. Green Street seems to welcome all breeds of cyclists, instead of catering to one and neglecting the others.I have been a customer of Green Street Cycles for 4+ years, and have always turned to them as my cycling needs develop and grow. I would without hesitation recommend them to any one.
When I arrived to the shop the staff were rude. The simple service I required was overpriced and was done incorrectly. This incorrectly done service also took a week to complete. In honesty, I was really shocked at the service I received.
Great folks and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Helpful and friendly staff with a bunch of sweet bikes!
Found them on the internet when I was in town visiting family and wanted to get in a bike ride. Stopped in for a visit before deciding to rent and found the staff very friendly and helpful. They gave me a map of local bike trails and provided suggestions based on how much time I had and the type of ride I wanted to do.I picked the Keystone Trail, came back, and rented a hybrid. The rental was good quality (lighter than my own) and they even had one with an XL frame (Im 65). I had already done a GoogleMaps search for bike routes from the shop to the trail. They provided suggestions to improve the route to help me avoid high-traffic areas. And you can change from your street clothes to your cycle gear in their restrooms. All in all, a great experience!
Very inefficient and rude when called to check progress of bike.
Had to revise my review. These people do not know how to build wheels. First I brought in a hub to get it built into a wheel, and it was improperly built. The spokes to me looked far too bent, and as it turned out they were. I kept breaking spokes just days after getting the wheel. They replaced the broken spokes, only to have more break within a week. I then brought it back in for a full rebuild, and they did do it at cost, but now 2 months later its breaking spokes again, all at the nipple which tells me the spokes are not straight. One of their builders even said it was clearly not built right, though the person who built it disagreed. I also got another wheel rebuilt at the same time and just got around to installing it on the bike it was for, only to discover it was built off center and is nowhere near true. Ill never use them again and suggest others avoid this place. Dont let the high rating fool you. Most of that came from when they where on Mike Fahey street under different employees. That Greenstreet was great. As a side edit I brought my wheel to the Recycle bike shop off 47th and center and its been over 6 months and the rebuild I had them do is still going strong. This is the third wheel I have had them build and all three have been fine. A this point I almost feel robbed by greenstreet. They should not offer services if they cant do the work. My bicycle is my main mode of transit so it simply HAS to work.
They are incredibly nice and helpful.
Best shop in town!
I typically dont write reviews but my experience was so bad I felt I needed to let the public know. Typically you go to a bike store instead of the internet because they have knowledge and advice that is useful.I went in tonight with a pretty good idea of what I needed to get to make my fat bike tubeless. I asked for the first item.... Uhh... blank stare. I asked for the second item. Whats it called again?...twice I told them. Ok yeah, we have it.....somewhere After a few minutes of looking around the store he found it on the counter. Then the second employee jumped in to assist. I read off the instructions on the bottle of fluid I was buying and it referred to an injection system that wasnt attached to the bottle. I inquired about this. Oh, no, its not an injection system. You are talking about a valve stem. Here let me show you A few fumbling minutes later... Well we normally have them in stock. Then he proceeds to show me a picture of a valve stem and I explain that I know what it is and that Im referring to something else. He explains that he doesnt know anything about what its referring to. At this point I said thank you and left.Honestly the thing that bugged me the most wasnt the ignorance. It was the arrogance displayed when clearly they didnt know what I was talking about. It was immediately that I didnt know what I was talking about before I finished my sentence. If you need grips they have them. If you need intelligence or input, they are lacking.
James was very helpful with finding what I needed.
Coffee is good, but bike service stinks. Just observed LAME customer service with someone who was picking up their bike. I was considering buying my new bike from them. Nah, Ill pass!
They have a coffee shop inside! Great shop owner. Got my first hybrid from here, which is what got me into riding. And now I just bought my first pro carbon fiber cyclocross bike here! A Focus Mares CX 3.0 with SRAM Rival, hydraulic disc brakes like a car. Beautiful. I am not a customer of Green Street, I am a fan.
Friendly, fast, reasonable, reliable. Youll love the service here.
Wonderful shop! Great people, great service! Helped my pick out my first mountain bike, a 2012 Specialized Hardrock disc 29er, and I love it. They have a great selection and great prices and wonderfully friendly and helpful employes. If you are looking for a place to get a bike, I highly recommend Greenstreet Cycles!
Great shop! Saddle broke just before closing and they stayed after hours to get me riding before a trip!
Sent Ben (Owner) an email with the following experiences explaining that I hoped it would help him improve his business. Unlike most business owners, instead of being grateful for the feedback and apologetic for the poor customer service, he became defensive, unapologetic, and insulting.1. Tried to return a fairly expensive head light that quit taking a charge after a few months use. Ben questioned if it got wet, asked if I knew how to charge it, and acted as through he did not believe me. Finally, I said that if I left without a replacement, I would never return. I agreed to buy the next model up, since it was all he had.2. A friend and I were at Mug Life one morning about 10AM when a Green Street employee came through with a turbo bike. We struck up a conversation about the bike, and my friend was considering buying one for his girlfriend. The employee invited us to come back and ride it. After we finished our coffee, we walked back. We were greeted by Ben with We are closed. Youll need to return at 11:00. Understandable, but rude.3. A few weeks ago, Green Street did a thorough inspection of my bike to ensure it was ready for an upcoming IRONMAN. Got new sprocket cassettes, chain, tires (larger size for smoother ride at their suggestions), and brakes, as they recommended. I also purchased new handlebars and aerobars. BIll was over $700. No complaint. But, then,a. They did not include the price of wrapping the bars....thought I might want to do that myself. When I declined, they added that charge. No complaint.b. They returned my accessories (front light, bar mitts, cable lock, tool pouch) in a bag. The $30 rear light, which I purchased at Green Street was missing. The entire bracket was gone, but they did not recall removing it, could not find it, and denied responsibility. I purchased another one from them. No complaint.c. When I got home, I noticed they had put the old tubes in the new tires, because my valve stem on the old tube was bent. Also, they had not replaced the valve stem caps. This might be standard practice, but it seemed cheap.4. A week later, on a Saturday, a spoke broke on my rear tire and left me stranded. While waiting on a ride, a called Green Street to see if they could look at it that day or the next,. I am in the final weeks of training for an IRONMAN, and cant skip too many days. Spoke with Ben, explained my situation. He said he was too busy to look at my bike. Understandable. So, I called TREK, who were also busy, but said they would take a minute to look at it, and if it was only a spoke, they would try to get me done by Sunday, so I could get in my ride.5. Learned at TREK that all the spokes were damaged from the chain. I could see the damage. Some looked old, some new. This suggests that: 1. Green Street installed the new chain and cassette incorrectly, AND/OR 2. Green Street failed to recognize the damaged spokes (adjacent to the new chain and sprocket they installed) and failed to inform me so I could repair the spokes BEFORE they broke and stranded me on a long ride. Thank goodness it broke before the IRONMAN.6. The larger tire they recommended was rubbing the carbon forks on the rear and ultimately would have ruined the bike. I could see the areas it was rubbing. In response to all of this, Ben refunded $139.10 and instead of apologizing, said, Your customer account has been closed. You are no longer welcome in my shop. Please do not contact me or my staff again.Shop here at your own risk.
Best service in Omaha and great place to rent a quality bike at a reasonable price.
Great customer service!
Its the best bike shop in town!!
Customer service and care is on point with these guys.
Good service,
Great shop
