Purchased a new Scott bike from this shop, received the bike and had issues with flaws in the manufacturing on the crank arms. I emailed, facebook messaged and call numerous times for assistance and trying to make a warranty claim on the the components. I have never been able to get ahold of them or received any form of reply from this shop. I ended up having to go through both Scott and Shimano to be sent to a local bike shop for them to help me with the warranty claim on the parts. I would avoid doing business with this bike shop as they will be no help after they have sold you the bike.
Bought a used bike from them this weekend. Loved the bike when I saw it, but it made a screeching noise when I hit the brakes. They took well over a day to thoroughly inspect it, entirely changed the front hydraulic brakes, the rotors and the brake pads on both ends with good quality parts and plus gave me a discount on the marked price. They guys at the counter were very nice and willing to help. They have a good selection of new bikes at the store as well. They let me try an ebike while I was waiting for my bike to get fixed as well.
The bikes are inexpensive and a great selection. The staff is knowledgeable and Jose was exceptional. They even delivered for me on the same day. They fixed every additions I needed right away. I would recommend them.
This is a great place for good deals on used bikes. Or to bring your bike in for repairs. They’re quick and friendly with probably the best prices in the Palo Alto area.I bought one used and one new bike here in the past year and both times, service was excellent. They patiently let me test out different bikes, tweaked the setup for me and were happy to advise.
Great little bike shop. Ive bought two used bikes there over the years and have been very satisfied both times. Friendly, helpful service. Great prices. Neighborhood community vibe. Would definitely recommend.
Cardinals selection is limited compared to the Bike Connection next door, but they have a better stock of affordable bikes. They offer great discounts, too. Really friendly staff wholl take care of you and help out with installing anything extra you get.
I Usually dont review any place. But This is a really good shop. My bikes are in great condition thanks to the guys, and the prices are very reasonable. The service was awesome. Thanks for all.
I don’t normally write a review but this business deserves one.Last year, our son started his freshmen year at Stanford. He bought a brand-new bike here. He did everything they recommended him to do like installing a special security cable to make it harder to steal. A few months later, someone tampered with it (we assume trying to steal the bike - but failed). The tampering was so bad that the bike was not rideable. During our visit, we took the bike back and Jeff took care of everything. He fixed the bike with no charge and he did it the same day! Now that was amazing! If you’re a Stanford parent and are looking for a bike for your student, you are in the right place. Ask for Jeff and let him do his magic. You will be very happy!
UPDATE: After the owners response, I came back in and they were so helpful and accommodating and kept to the trade. Very pleased with this business.First post: I wanted to get into road biking so buying a used bike seemed like a good idea. I found a beautiful Buenos Aires Lemond bike for $550. They said it fit me well, I had no idea, but trusted them. Come to find out it was too big and couldnt be adjusted smaller. They offered me $100 back for it. I feel like they took advantage of my lack of knowledge. They should have told me the bike was too big for me. They just want the sales. I do not recommend their business.
These are our familys go-to guys. Theyve performed quick emergency fixes for us and are so fair in their prices. We especially appreciate Rafael who is a biker himself, understands bikes and can fix anything! Plus, hes a great guy!THANK YOU CARDINAL BICYCLE SHOP!
The crank arm on my bike was loose and we didnt have the necessary tools to tighten it enough. We brought it to the shop and Zach (sp?) patiently listened to us, identified the problem and brought the bike to the back immediately.Even though the shop was busy, he quickly fixed the crank arm and realigned the handlebars for free. We were in and out in under 10 minutes. His friendly, efficient service ensured well be back if we need any more repairs on our bikes. Thanks!
I was just up at Stanford visiting my daughter who inherited my 1980s bike and it had a flat tire that seemed to be reoccurring even though she had taken it to the Stanford bike shop on campus. It was Saturday and the shop was very busy but Ruben fixed us right up. He replaced the strip between the rim and the tube that was off, so the tire kept going flat as the spokes would puncture the tube. He checked the gears too and even though he did not have time to replace the housing he took it apart and lubed it so that my daughter could change gears more easily. This worked out very well in such great timing as we were riding over the Golden Gate bridge that morning. Thank you Ruben for the extra bit of care!
I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the quality, speed, and downright greatness Jeff (The guy with the big white beard) handled himself while building up my bike! I brought in a 1970s Chicago made Schwinn with little more than a frame and some cheap rims. After discussing my plans to make a daily 14 mile commute into SF, we settled on swapping out my single speed rear wheel with a 3 speed internal hub, added new brakes, original Schwinn fenders, a luggage rack, etc. He rebuilt me a classic hub, did everything I asked for, and more! To top it off, I had a sudden change in my schedule, and he was able to do everything I wanted FOUR DAYS EARLY! And to top it off again, I got everything I asked for for a VERY REASONABLE price!! Man was I, and am I, blown away with the absolutely fantastic service and quality. I will definitely be bringing my bike back for more upgrades, and recommending everyone I know to this bike shop!
I bought a bike for my granddaughter at this shop about a week ago. Very friendly service and great prices.
I had a problem with my chain ring. The mechanic helped me get the old one off because it was stuck and didnt charge for the favor. He was really helpful and gave lots of useful tips. He is a really friendly guy.On the other hand their orders take a long time to come in. I originally was told that my new chain ring would be in the following Friday...it wasnt. When I came in on Friday they said it would come the following Wednesday. When I called on Wednesday they said that the employee who opens the boxes wasnt in so they didnt know if my part had come yet (really? can it be that hard?).It is a friendly bike shop and I plan to shop there in the future but be aware that orders may take longer than you think to come in.
Great selection good prices helpful staff.
Excellent!! - If you KNOW what you are looking for - then this is ONE of the few places to go. My father started me here many decades ago. I continue because old parts are hard to find (if not impossible). I always talk to the OWNER - he KNOWS stuff!!!! Ttalking to the help may(or may not) get you answers
I went to various places to see if I could get my new bike assembled for a reasonable price and expediently, but they couldnt beat the price and speed of these guys! I rode it out of the store several hours later, Im very impressed with their service, would definitely go back!
I went to the shop for a quick fix, I offered more money than usually is asked by the worker refused to help me and was very rude.
I like this place because the service is friendly and theyre not snobs. The prices are reasonable too. Not the biggest selection; however, I would recommend this shop.
Small little shop with various selection of bikes. Looking for cheap n good bikes, this is a place for consideration.
I bought my bike less than 3 months ago, and I use it little and the gear broke unexpectedly. Also, they service is slow, they took almost 4 days for a simple tune up. Dont recommend it.
The staff was respectful and helpful and they tuned up my bike like new at a reasonable price and in a timely way. Thanks!
I have been a long time customer - great service at very reasonable prices. Honest and fair - what more can you ask for?
This is my bike shop of choice, I have always been serviced great at this place.
These guys are extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful! I trust them.
Prices were expensive even for the used bikes. I tired selling my old bike and they would only take it for $20
This place knows bikes inside and out. They put all bike shops in the Palo Alto/Stanford area to shame.
Great prices on used bikes
Great bikes and great service!
Helped me fixed a brake adjustment after I took a fall, very kind!
My boyfriend and I took his bike to get brakes adjusted and replaced. That was the only service requested by us. When we picked up the bike next day the brakes were not fixed and bike was delivered to us. Though, they fixed it again immediately but I found it a bad service as that was the thing they were supposed to fix in the whole bike.
Really nice employees, works with you
Good service but slightly expensive.
Very helpful, little B S
Not just new bikes, they sell nicely refurbished used bikes and often have parts on hand for older less common bikes if you need parts for a repair.
Great
Nice
Good. Service
