Good store, but some items were in low stock and some are overpriced, like a pack of 6 cucumbers for 6$ and avocado for 2$ each. Fresh salmon didn’t look so fresh neither. But there were good deals for some items. And it is certainly the best supermarket in the nearby area.

I prefer acme over any other supermarket since the take-over of super fresh

Rude storeCashiers have no idea pricing on your products. I needed help at customer service and I was told I needed to wait 15 minutes since she was on her brake .The cashier yelled across the store when the wait was longer than that.Not One of your employees would assist .A male employee came over finally and was human and nice. . The situation was adjusted after 20 minutes.Train the new employees Please.Thank you.This never happened before Covid.I am aware how difficult it is for hiring however fir the sake of continuity fir Acme reputation, please share importance of customer service.

Almost every single employee was wearing their mask improperly with their nose and nostrils exposed. Masks do not work if your nose is uncovered. We all know this by now. Wear the mask right or do not wear one at all. Wearing it wrong is just deceptive.

Ordered a cake from the bakery and the artist, Emily, was incredibly helpful and really cared about making it right. She did an amazing job recreating the UPenn logo by hand. Oh, and the cake was delicious too.

Im a regular shopper at this location as this is the closest grocery option for me (I live in Old City). I can almost expect that cashiers will be rude and act like I am inconveniencing them when I check out. Today was no different.Managers are equally rude and seemingly uninterested in providing good customer service.

First time in this store and the manager was giving attitude to the cashier attending me. Her attitude was very off-putting. The kid was doing fine. Both me and the lady getting attended in front of me were very uncomfortable by her snappiness. I dont know what her deal was, but I probably wont be back there.

Small acme with the essentials and not much else. For larger shopping trips consider the one on South Street a few blocks down.

They built this grocery store and others like it, to keep poor people, poor (through their outrageously priced items) and un healthy through the poor quality of options.

I just moved to Old City from South Philly. The Old City Acme makes the one on East Passyunk Ave look like a theme park. This store is small--like INSANELY SMALL. If you open a door in the freezer section, you pretty much block the aisle. Because its smaller, theres less selection. The way inventory is laid out seems nonsensical. There are no self-checkouts! (Theres no room for them anyway.) The employee who checked me out barely looked at me and didnt say one word. Very rude. And Im almost positive the prices are higher at this smaller, less convenient, uncomfortable, less friendly location. Ill be shopping elsewhere.

Seems Like a great little market . Great variety for a small downtown grocery store. From deli and produce to frozen and munchies. Be heading back for supplies again during my extended stay in Old City Philly .

Consistently bad quality produce and meats. Ive went here numerous times and found blueberries or spinach that was about to expire. Ive also bought chicken several times that ended up smelling really funny when I got home. Fish Ive seen is sometimes packed 2-3 days ago.The place is definitely passable, but easily sub-par.

ACME market had so many sales going on, I couldnt believe it. I love ice cream (Talenti and Ben& Jerrys) and they always have some sort of deal going on. The cashiers are really nice and the store is clean. if youre hungry or looking for a quick dinner for the family they have a hot and ready now area with items like fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders,wing dings, macaroni and cheese, and an assortment of vegetables. The items vary from day to day

There is an old man by the name of John, who works stocking the aisles. He is incredibly profane, unwelcoming and unprofessional. This Behavior was then supported by his coworkers. There are MANY grocery stores and pharmacies in the area. I would not recommend this particular store to anyone.

Small friendly neighborhood Acme!

ACME is in the final stages of a major overhaul from the old Super Fresh layout. The new setup adds checkout registers and lets in more natural light. Its a great change, and their prices are going to start chipping away at Whole Foods business.

Good: the staff is always nice and very helpful. Usually not a long wait in line and there is a parking lot.Not so good: theyre small and dont carry all brands or varieties. Also due to the size things arent always where you expect (frozen chicken next to produce & meat, not the rest of the frozen food).

I misread the sign for the barbecue sauce and I was able to get the two for free (Sweet Baby Rays).

The store is small but it tries to have as many items as its space will allow. The staff is super nice. I find that I can get a better price for items at stores in South philly, but this store is close for emergency pick ups.

As a neighborhood grocery store, it cant be beat. The vibe and convenience of a bodega but the benefit of full service grocery. It isnt as large as other Acmes, like that on South or Girard, so if youre driving, may as well go to the larger locations. But if youre in the neighborhood, nothing beats the convenience.

Good area, offers a place to park although most people live in the area, staff is friendly enough (a bit slow but there usually arent bad lines depending on the time of day), and they dont make you carry a discount card....we all get the same sales which makes much more sense! They also offer contests from time to time, such as monopoly tickets you collect when you make a purchase.

Decent selection of goods. Deli has very good fresh cheese and cold cuts, but for some reason there is no list or complete menu of whats available--you have to ask the attendant. Management seems to be cruel/harsh on the stockers and cashiers based on the interactions I have observed. Generally, service can be either friendly or spiteful depending on who you run into. Reasonable choice for a convenient grocery, but dont expect anything that will make you want to come back inside.

ACME has a wide variety of groceries and produce. Plus! they also have Wine and Beer.

Great little full line grocery in the city. Just like you would find in a small town.

This Acme is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. One of my items did not ring up for the sale price that was posted, and I was given the item free of charge. I received superior service at this store and recommend shopping here.

Certainly one of the poorest selections of any grocery store in the history of the world. Ye Olde Trading Post had more variety than this joint, and at better prices. Post-apocalyptic Mad-Max style heathens would probably rather trade with irradiated mutants and risk death in the Waste than shop here. Unfortunately its the closest one I live to so I just like to gripe and moan when Im forced to run there to grab some last minute ingredient. My advice? Find a better Acme, or better yet to move to Florida and find a Publix.

This ACME seems to have a better selection than the other grocery stores that are around my apartment. Its about a mile away but I still make the hike with some others who live in my apartment because they dont disappoint!I see that others are disappointed in the store for various reasons, but none of those have affected me personally so I dont really feel qualified to comment on them! What I can say though is that the sales people here are really nice and helpful. The store is set up a little oddly so it takes a minute to find things but thats a small point. The lines are generally a little longer than I would like (sometimes its a little ridiculous -- Ill be honest) but that doesnt mean its not worth! Finally, the wine/cider prices were like a buck more than I wanted to pay but meh. I still think its a worthy choice!!

This little Acme is where A&P and then SuperFresh were. It is a neighborhood cornerstone. Since Philadelpia is a walking centered place, locals need this store. It is well stocked and well maintained for such a small store.

Its convenient and good in a pinch, but pretty small.

I dont like to view myself as handicapped. My right arm was amputated a couple of inches below my elbow. One of the results of being hit by a drunk driver. I bought more than I could manage. I asked management if I could purchase the 3 cases of water on sale and come back for each. Bob a fellow who works for ACME rallied with the result being; Bob allowed the kindest young lady, Armyni to push the shopping cart filled with 3 24 packs of water as well as everything else I had purchased a block and a half to my home. Not only did Armyni push the cart, when we arrived to my home she was already unloading the water into the vestibule. The reason why I went into such detail is because never once has anyone at ACME made me feel less than. People are generally looking at the bad experience that happened 1 time instead of viewing the employees as people who have feelings. Everyone from upper management to the bagger has been so kind to me just because they are kind people by nature. Thank you Bob, Armyni, Angela, the young man at the deli who always makes me smile, the 2nd shift produce man who went out of his way to bring a cart with grapes for me to choose from instead of looking the other way. I have never had a bad experience with anyone who works in this particular store. I am at a loss for a way to thank everyone. I am hoping this gets back to them just to make them feel the way they make me feel. Leaving the grocery store with a smile says more than I can say to them. Thank you for taking the time to tell you how good it feels to have pleasant people around the store from beginning to leaving.

I couldnt find sun dried tomato. The staff member was very helpful and found what I was looking for. Then I get in line and shes my cashier. I like this store.

This place is a joke. The produce is wilted and old and theres a lousy selection. All the meat is packaged for families, so if youre a Singleton you cant go in there and just buy a small amount. The one good thing I can say is that the people at the deli counter are usually real sweethearts!

The store is okay, but I am Italian, so something is way too expensive for me...nevertheless I can shop here easily because there is everything I need for good meals

A great little grocery store, thats super quick to get through. Has the deals and best stuff from every category. But you can be in and out in 5 minutes and get fresh produce, deals in every category. Something hot or from the deli.Here and there, especially around rush hour, there can be a line in the checkout. But it varies, sometimes you go in, and theres noone there. Usually not more than 2-3 ppl ahead of you.Most are walking so they only get a bag ful of stuff, which means people checkout quickly.Patronize here, PLEASE. Because they plan on closing. So if you want this supermarket to have any chance of continuing they need your business.I dont want this place turned into condos which is the discussion.There is nothing else near, so when deciding on where to shop, always choose this store imo.
