The place was quite busy in early afternoon, and it took quite some time to receive some type of service. However, that was expected with the amount of people waiting. The staff was friendly, and quite knowledgeable as far as the types of meat. The quality of the meat was great, and the option to have meat cut on site was a great feature in the store. Overall, my experience was really good, and I would recommend anyone looking for a vast selection of meats to stop by and shop. Some meats were pricey, but given the origin and type of meat, I understood why. Just know your budget, and shop accordingly. Most of the pricey meats had cheaper alternatives.

I got the biggest steaks from them. I was able to buy one of each cut we like🥰 and 1 steak was more than enough for the two of us,with sides of course. The place had so many people there to help everyone. I was very happy n thankful to the butcher who helped me he did not make feel rushed or anything. My family will definitely be coming back.

Worse veal bone roast we’ve ever had. My poor mom spent a lot of money on this piece of meat for my dad who is dying to make some of his favorite last meals for him. 3/4 of this piece of meat was either bone or fat and I mean LOTS of fat. I will find another butcher and make this mean a proper meal for my dad. Feels like they saw an old lady and took advantage of her.

This place I fantastic..I live 42 miles away...and still go here for anything to do with meat...would give 10 stars if I could.

A very busy place but it’s loaded with any kind of meat product you could want as well as exotic meats I have not seen sold anywhere else.We walked away with a lot of fine meats that were fresh and tasted wonderful.Prices are actually pretty reasonable given the area and I saw they take ACCESS which is good for those who are using that program

Ive experienced nothing but Good service, great meats, delicious fresh sausage, steaks, hard to find items, all Consistently good products. Can get crowded get there early but if you happen to have to wait in line it goes quickly. Cant wait to go back!!

Great selection. Nothing here is higher in price than youd expect for fresh meats, in fact some things are much cheaper than Id expect. The sausages that we tried were all terrific. We grabbed the chorizo and the chicken maple raspberry sausage. Everyone was very friendly as well

My friend and I went there looking for a beef tenderloin to make beef wellington. To our surprise, they only sold huge tenderloin. We consulted the gentleman working (I didnt get his name!) and he went out of his way to discuss our options. I was hesitant to buy the entire tenderloin but after he offered to have the butcher trim the meat, cut the piece of tenderloin used for the wellington, and cut the rest into steaks, we were sold! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this information to us and helping us choose the best possible solution!It doesnt stop there though, we brought the meat home and made the wellington. The meat was incredible. Ive always heard people say a steak that cuts like butter and Ive never believed it until today.Thank you, strip district meats, for the quality in service and product!

I came early on Sunday because Saturday was not conducive to parking. This market is really extensive and more than ready to satisfy your curiosity of what a camel tastes like. The ofal and duck was packaged in convenient sizes and the prices werent extravagant unless you are.

This place is amazing. There are sooooo many choices of meats and also cuts of meats. I bought alligator tail filets, gound elk meat, ground rabbit meat, and also buffalo jerkey, wild boar jerky and elk meat jerky. Another cool part is that they take cash, card and EBT/Food stamps which means healthier meat choices for those on state help. Just sooo happy to have found this place!

We made the trip from Erie and decided on a package with a little of everything. Despite being busy, every customer was treated like they were the only one. Yet they moved quickly. What a rad place! Theres gonna be a bit of a wait, but its for good reason--there are a ton of people in there buying a massive variety of meats! The staff is extremely kind, helpful, and efficient--the queue moves steadily, so even if youve got a bunch of people in front of you, it doesnt feel like youre standing around for nothing.I received such great service and information from the staff that I am literally excited to go back.

Theyre all very kind and knowledgeable. I went there with no idea what type of ribs to buy and the gentleman explained each type individually and helped me choose. He was incredibly patient with me.

Unbelievable selection of every possible meat and every possible cut from that animal all served up and displayed in a clean and organized fashion. Very fair prices also for the rarity of their products. Located in the heart of the Stip District along with plenty of other food shopping options. Would recommend stopping.

I absolutely love this place. The customer service is amazing. You walk through the door, & the employees greet you immediately. They are eager to help & answer any questions you have, instead of acting annoyed & rushing you. They have such a large selection of meat, including exotic meat. They have both printed & displayed menus, which is helpful, since their selection is huge. I hate the strip district parking on the weekends, but I’ll make a special trip for strip district meat. Worth it!

This place is the bomb! They have pretty much EVERY kind of meat you could be looking for. They also do packages for parties, entertaining, etc. Busy environment. My faves are the rattlesnake, boar and rabbit.

I love coming here, my last visit out of many was great !👍🏾💪🏾 I have to get the young mans name & send him a thank you gift! But, I have this one complaint and it occurred this morning 😒 . I called one hour and a half before I left monroeville to pick up my package. The first time I called I was still trying to get my notebook out because the night before I wrote down everything I wanted. Anyways a lady picked up the first time & I told her I’d call back within that minute I called back. A man answered & I was sure he was young because I asked him in the beginning of the conversation if he had a minute to give me a estimate of the meats I wanted as if it was a package. He responded yes, so I started to tell him what I wanted & then he cuts me off & say oh well that sounds like a variety pack which I knew & already had written down. I responded I know that it’s the total of the meats that I wanted because I didn’t want everything that came with the variety package & as I said I had it written down on what I wanted so I can just read the list. So I did & he still asked me beef or pork for two items. I proceeded to ask him if he can give me a estimate for a whole duck & duck breast . He told me the price for the whole duck and then I explained to him that I wanted veal ground meat & tried to go back through the list again to make sure it was right 😒😫🤬😤I GOT THERE A HOUR AND A HALF LATER & NOTHING WAS RIGHT!He still gave me regular ground meat and I had to tell him no I asked for veal not regular ground meat . I got my whole duck when I got there and I requested a 10lb regular ground meat . He’s questioning me in my opinion at this point because he’s like“You have 5lbs of veal ground meat already” I responded I know I need a 10lb bag of beef ground meat. & at this point I knew he had a attitude. I pay and leave & as I get home I realize I have pork ribs and pork bacon !! 🤮🤢😷🤬 I’m furious because I hate the smell of it and also I don’t have a up and running vehicle right now so not only are your employee wasting my time & energy but my ride as well as gas ! So I will be going back up there & speaking with a manager because I come to this business way too often to be treated this way! So again yes awesome place to get meat but, some employees are just terrible. I’ve been coming here for three years for meats answers have spent a nice penny on meats and other items . I would’ve rated a 4 but, this situation in my opinion shouldn’t have happen. When I make my orders it’s under nay ..

The guy who helped us, showed us (me and my boyfriend) every meat we wanted to see. We were very curious and came out of it with kangaroo meat. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back. I cant wait to try this kangaroo.

This is the only place I can find veal for the veal picatta I like to make. Its frozen but it still tastes fine. Great selection and good service. The prices seem about on par also.

I love this place hands down🙌🏾, one of the best places in Pittsburgh to get your meat, especially if you have a knack for alligator or camel😂. One of my absolute favorite items to get from there is their housemade all beef kielbasa. I also tried their kangaroo jerky, it was really good, hardly even noticed it was a marsupial. 🤸🏾‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️

Loved this place as the meat you get is really fresh and the best part is that it is cheap. I used to love the goat I got here at only 4.49 a pound which is half of what you get elsewhere. The boneless and skinless chicken thighs was also very good and cheap.
