Owner was helping a customer when I came in; came over to greet me. Asked what I was looking for and gave me several options plus a suggestion I might be interested in. Im not a collector but it seems like a decent place for that.

Phantom is the best comic store in Pittsburgh (sorry Eides, yer next). I am friends with the owner, just due to the fact I have been a customer for 30 years now. I know him, because he is my only comics purveyor. And it will never change, I am a lifetime customer. And friend too. So yeah, 5 stars.

Best venue in the greater Pittsburgh area to find comics! Theyre friendly and helpful, with a huge collection of new, and older comics/graphic novels/manga. Across the street is the Phantom of the Attic table-top games store, which is considered a great place to shop by nerdy types. They have games events too!

Ive been here off and on, and I really do appreciate the people who work here. Their comic selection is inclusive, and the staff has always been incredibly helpful and kind to me, whether or not I ended up purchasing anything. This is one of my favorite comic stores in the area and I highly recommend checking them out if you have the time. New comics sell fairly quickly, so get there early on Wednesdays if thats your jam.

Not open on saturday like it said on thier web site. Drove long way to go there and were closed.

Super friendly and helpful staff. i dont know much about comic books but there seemed to be a really great selection. lots of fun merchandise too. the manga section is small but i was still able to find what i was looking for, and they even offered to order the next few volumes for me. overall, i highly recommend this place!! will definitely be returning

Great staff with a wide selection of current and silver and bronze age of comics. They have a huge graphic novel and trade paperback section as well. I highly recommend going to take a look for yourself!

The supreme comic books store in the burgh..nothing even comes close..this is a must stop shop for all things comic books or anything like that.

I stopped by recently, and they have a great selection of comics and miscellaneous figures and merchandise. I had fun just browsing through everything. The staff was friendly, and helped me locate one specific comic I was looking for.

Never been to their events, but it seems like they have a lot of them, and glad to see theyre involved in the community. A staple of the Oakland area!

@Comic Store: Great selection of local authors/artists and a selection of queer authors! Lots of indie comics worth reading. Theyll order anyway they dont have but the stock is impressive without being overwhelming and its impeccably organized. Not a single book out of place youll never have to go digging though a box or a pile for the things you want.@Game store a community hub for RPGs, Card Games and Miniature Wargaming. Again always well organized with contemporary stock that has a lot of independent games worth playing.

This place might just be the very best comic book shop in the country. The knowledgeable, friendly staff set them head and shoulders over any other store. Geoff and Wayne are institutions. Giants in the industry. They know and respect the history of the medium in a way that perhaps only Michael Chabon rivals.

I personally think this place is pretty great. Theyve got all the latest comics, and a good backlog as well. Theyve got manga, and other merchandise too. If youre a local comics reader (DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, etc.), then this is a good place to make your Wednesday comics run.

Really neat little store to visit, they have a TON of selections and carry back issues of a bunch of comics. They also have some neat little novelty items like action figures, posters and small statues. The gentlemen working there were super friendly and helpful as well!

This place is great. My wife and I went here for free comic book day, even though the place was packed the staff helped us well. This place was a massive selection. I personally got a copy of Watchmen by Alan Moore here which is one of my all time favorite comic books. This place also has new releases here every Tuesday. I would suggest this place for anyone looking for a comic book.

In addition they have various other offerings - manga, books and comics for younger readers, collectible figures, statuettes, pins, glassware and toys. The staff is highly experienced, with a staggering wealth of comic knowledge, carefully considered recommendations and opinions, and couldnt be any friendlier or down-to-earth. Theyve been in this neighborhood for years for a damn good reason: They are a much-needed, and beloved, member of their community.

PotA is my favorite comic book store! They always have a large selection and usually always have what I am looking for - And, depending on the item, if they dont have it they always offer to order it for me. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful towards me, and I often strike up wonderful conversation with both the staff and other customers looking for comic recommendations. The store itself is spacious and clean, the comics are generally pretty well organized alphabetically and if they have the item in stock, I never have issues finding it. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in comics, beginner or veteran!

Phantom carries a wide selection of comics and a small selection of action figures and t-shirts. The customer service is beyond stellar, and the staff knows their stuff and their customers. Ive been shopping here since 2005, and this was the first shop I ever felt truly welcomed to as a woman.They dont have a ton of back issues, but they do have some. They have a HUGE selection of trade paperbacks, collectors edition hardcovers, and indie comics, including some manga. They will special order books and even supplies.Seriously though, the staff are this stores strongest asset. They go above and beyond!

Its an alright place, it isnt any cheaper than buying online and is more expensive in my personal experience. They have a large selection but more of a jack of all trades master of none place. I want to support local business but paying extra for nothing extra is just wasteful in my eyes.

One of the best comic shops Ive ever been to. The staff is friendly and theyre knowledgeable without being ostentatious. If youre anywhere in the eastern part of Pittsburgh I cant imagine buying comics or graphic novels somewhere else.

I think this store is the best comic shop in the whole area! The staff is very helpful, which to be honest, is a rarity anywhere these days. Usually youre made to feel unwelcome at comic shops, but not here! And... they have literally everything! Worth a stop, if you are lucky enough to find parking. Try parking at the Carnegie Museum lot. Its worth paying $5 to not stress about your car. Its a little bit of a walk, but youll get to take in the neighborhood.

I dont know if Google is asking me to review the comic shop or the game shop across the street. They are both very nice shops. The comic shop has a great selection and i can find my manga there. I went across the street to get some pokemon cards for my kid. They had some at a normal price, but also had card sleeves, to help protect the more rare cards.
