Highly recommend supporting Brighton music Center. A good friend of mine gave me a fender Mexican precision Bass guitar that had been in his family for 20 plus years. Hardly used but had a lot of wear and tear. I took this bass guitar to Brighton music Center to resurrect it and they did just that! Matt Sabbath, who was the tech that worked on it did an absolutely amazing job bringing it back to life. Also, Ive always had such positive interactions with the employees that work with their (including Matt) when talking about various accessories for my Bass guitars as well as exploring a new amp (still saving up for the last one!).
We visited Brighton Music center today to test out some different instrument options as my daughter was struggling with the flute. Brad was professional and personable with both my daughter and I. I was very impressed with his knowledge and ability to connect with my daughter so quickly. Well worth visiting the store to test out instruments.
Very friendly and helpful, low pressure sales. Prices are competitive, but at times slightly higher than online stores. I believe it is 100% worth the little bit more for the advice and assurance in quality. I have a child in voice lessons with Amelia and she is wonderful!!! This is a local gem and I hope people shop here to keep them successful. I have so many good things to say about this place and Im sure you will too.
Everyone at Brighton Music Center is extremely helpful. I’ve always had great experiences when I buy new equipment or get my instruments cleaned. If there’s something I need that requires a special order, they are all happy to work with me so that the proper item is ordered and, if necessary, delivered.
As a drummer, I have been going to Brighton’s Music Center since 2018.Brad, Pete, and Matt have always been helpful to me.I have gotten a nice drum throne, cymbals, drum sticks, and hi-hat stand from them and have been really happy with the purchases from them.Bobby

They are a great place to buy for first guitar or your 10th one. They service and setup you up before ya leave or you can come back for a quick adjustment. Prices are awesome and they can also order almost anything you want. They sell and order Ibanez guitars if youre into getting a great guitar.I definitely will be back to shop and order from here.$30 gets you strings and full adjustment. So if your not as good at it they will re-string and tune to your hearts content.

We just bought a used trombone for my 9yo. I went in to purchase a new case and cleaning kit for it and of course asked questions. They got us all set up. Were also looking at signing up for lessons there as well.

Meh, after driving around to shop’s and happening upon a store that sells “viola” we’re told we need to make an appointment. I’m sorry my high schoolers been playing since fifth grade and we already know what we’re looking for. Apparently nothing from a store that can’t accommodate a customer from out of town, more than seventy miles. Disappointing

Today I made my first instrument purchase of a 4/4 Violin. Matt, one of the sales techs and music guru, helped me select the best instrument for my current knowledge level and price range. The entire building was IMMACULATE. They have excellent cleaning strategies in place and have set times for people to come in and look at instruments. It was one of the best handled Covid 19 buying experiences Ive ever had. Thanks to Matt and the team, despite computer issues, for answering all my questions and being patient with me and my unpracticed fingers.

I came in for piano music for a gift. While I browsed with my two young children (5 & 2) in tow, I felt they were unwelcome in the store. I’ll order future music online rather than patronizing this local business thanks to this visit.

Bought 3 packs of strings one string broke before finishing tuning. Though single strings are less than 2$ didnt replace defective string even with another 30$ purchase. Doesnt make me want to spend more money here.

Ive also purchased a few guitars from him over the years and he always makes sure that the one Im getting is perfect in every way. Ever since the ownership has changed hands this store it has been going down hill fast. The owner of the shop only cares about making money and not the customer or the employees. He talks down to them right in front of customers waiting in line. Appalling... Also the lesson program has dropped off a cliff and most of the good teachers that has been there for years QUIT ....Stay Away!!

Brighton music Center at this location and the original one in Brighton PA are two of my favorite local music stores. The North hills store is closer to me so I spend more time there. Every time Ive gone Ive been treated very well and the staff is not only friendly but very knowledgeable. Ive also gotten several very good deals from these guys, especially during their anniversary sale with their spin the wheel discount game. If youre looking for a local musical instrument supplier who really knows what theyre talking about, this is it!

Came in a few weeks ago just to browse around, and the staff here was very friendly and knowledgeable even though I was not buying anything. The two girls gave me the story of how the business began, and that they had been an establishment for sixty years. Overall, a great cozy, family kind of store. Most stores do not take the time to really engage with the customers, especially some teenage boys that were just there to look around. And the one girl was really cute. Great business, friendly people, nice faces.

Great place to buy and repair instruments. The staff is very professional and helpful. My sons mouthpiece got stuck in his instrument and Andy was able to remove it. Andy provided exceptional customer service! I would not hesitate to bring any of our instruments for him to repair.

As a student here at the music center, I will tell you that my experiences here are all but wonderful. The staff working the main store is friendly and welcomes and respects everyone like family. Though there may be some issues with which the speed of the employees work, it mainly comes from the fact that they like the experience as musicians and music lovers working at a music store. The teachers are top of the line and irreplaceable as many of them have been professionally playing for 30+ years and stand out as masters of their respective crafts. If you ever consider a place to go for lessons, look no further.

I brought my brand new $1800 Telecaster Elite in to get set up and they scratched the finish and chipped the paint. They also didnt set my guitar up right, and I had to take it somewhere else to have it fixed because I no longer trusted Brighton to fix it without damaging it more. One thing that bothered me was that I was told by the owner that you cant really avoid scratching a guitar when restringing it. I dont agree with this. I think thats indicative of hasty work. Plus, I have locking tuners on my guitar and so it just made for a really poor excuse. Also, they both acted like the chip and scratches in the paint magically appeared out of nowhere which was even more upsetting. They both had poor attitudes about the incident and made a lot of excuses. It stung to be treated with that amount of disrespect. Ultimately I regret bringing my guitar here.
I hate to give a low review as the majority of the employees were friendly and helpful, though in one instance the guy on the floor followed me around as if he thought I was trying to steal.I took a saxophone in for spring replacement. I got it back in just a couple days. Within a week, one of the springs they put on broke. I brought it back in and they replaced it free of charge. Within another week two more springs broke. I brought it back in again and the repair tech explained that they had only had lighter springs (blue in color) but that she would now replace them with stainless steel springs that wouldnt break. Its a week and a half later and another spring lost all tension and fell off. When examining the instrument I saw that its still got one of the blue springs we agreed to avoid. Im currently using a hair band to hold the key open until I can afford to take the horn somewhere else. The tech was very friendly throughout all this and never charged me a second time, but I cant in good faith go in a fourth time or recommend their services.

Brad reset my ukelele by lowering strings and filing rough fret edges. 2 days top and very reasonable price. Changed strings for me as well. Just great overall service. I didn’t know they provided this service but a friend recently had his Uke Set up and was very pleased as well. Thanks Brad!!

Got tech work done on an ibanez rg8. Vince really helped me with the tone coming from the pickups. He removed the tone pot and added a killswitch. Gave it a perfect set up. Ill be bringing more projects here!

We’ve been renting my daughter’s viola at Brighton Music Center for almost 2 years but never had a need to go to the store since they will bring instruments to the school. She needed to size up so we went in yesterday. The staff was helpful and it was a quick process. We ended up going back today because she forgot her prized ribbons on her old viola. The staff person today was very helpful, friendly, and even went above and beyond when my daughter inquired about something.
So helpful during this crazy time. Cannot say enough how happy we are with Brighton Music.

Best experience in a music shop Ive ever had.Took my acoustic in the day before a gig for an emergency setup. They fit me in on 15 minutes notice and took care of it that day for me. Matt was extremely informative and explained everything he was doing and how I could take better care of my instrument. When he was done, the guitar played better than when i got it and I walked out better informed on how to care for my instrument.Found my new permanent spot. A+

Terrible customer service. Not only was the man who i spoke with very unhelpful, but incredibly rude. A music store should be about creativity, not proving all the knowledge one has about each instrument. I was treated as though he was shocked with my product choice, as if I couldnt possibly understand what i needed... even though i was the one coming in to buy it.I would definitely not return. Id rather have my needs met by an online box retailer than experience that again.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my child who took lessons here from Terry Magursky. I STRONGLY suggest asking for another teacher. I paid for 4 lessons on saxophone for $85 during the month of August.During this time the teacher tried changing the time of our appointment on multiple occasions. I cancelled one lesson at the end of August because my daughter had strep throat. We rescheduled for the beginning of September & my daughter had her final lesson.I texted Terry and told him that we were very busy with other activities and I would be in touch with him in the future concerning lessons. I thought that was the end of it.That is, until last night when Terry harassed me by calling my phone multiple times stating that I owed him another $85 for lessons that my daughter never took because he was planning on giving them to her during the month of September. WHAT?! I have never heard such a thing and neither has anyone else that I have spoken about this situation with. You can’t charge someone for a service that they no longer want & you didn’t provide to them.Brighton music center is great but get lessons from someone other than Terry McGurskey, unless of course you want to be charged & threatened to be turned into a collection agency for lessons that your child didn’t take. If this is the way he conducts music lessons, he needs to make people aware prior to scheduling with him. Unbelievable!
Took my Gretsch guitar in today with a mysterious broken headstock and Vince and Matt were more than willing to welcome me in and take a look. Out of all the times Ive been in that shop, i have always been taken care of, always. Great staff, great selection and well worth a vist if you are in the area. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Their customer relation skills are poor at best. They do not treat their customers with a shred of respect, and their business practices are dishonest. The manager doesnt care about your experience in the store or with the instruments. Absolutely will never come back to this store and will recommend to everyone I know that they need to shop elsewhere. There is no way they are actually this highly rated - Im sure the ratings they have on google are either paid for or their horrible owner forces the employees to write them. You would have a better experience purchasing off a stranger on craigslist. Do not go here.
