I called asking when they could look at my brakes and they said to bring right on over. They diagnosed the issues in minutes. I was able to schedule an appointment for them to change my rear rotors and brakes for the next day. The price was great compared to what I’ve seen other places and they were very personable. My daughter also loved the toy car that they gave her when we left. 10/10 would recommend.

0500 Mechanics is an amazing shop with great people working there. My car had trouble late at night so my car barely made it to their shop just as they were closing up shop. They took the time to help look at my car and to drive me home. They were able to get the parts that I needed sooner than I could have with their connections so my car was up and running quickly. This was during the expensive holiday season and I didnt have money for the repair right away so they worked out a payment program that fit my budget comfortably. Love this shop!

I was planning on visiting my family for Independence day, but my brakes started grinding just the night before. I took it here for a brakes inspection in the morning, and they got back to me pretty quick with an update. They were able to replace the brakes well before the time I wanted to leave, so the issue did not interrupt my plans. There is still a minor squeak when I use the brakes, but that may be from the front ones (which they had no need to replace).

The cost is reasonable and they get your oil change verily quick. It takes a couple hours for an oil change for my car. Grateful for the reasonable prices.

I am not from Idaho and needed someone to fix two different vehicles before I could go home to Oregon. I was given 0500 as a reference from a local friend. I was stressed and overwhelmed and very scared of the bill. Not only did Chris get me in last minute on a Thursday for both cars, but he had them fixed by the end of the day so that I could leave first thing Friday morning and he didnt charge me an arm and a leg. His price was very fair and I left with confidence. To make my experience even better, the next business day he shot me a text asking if everything was still good with our cars. I receive one of the best service from them. I had troubles with my car on 2020 and I took it to another place that was so unprofessional and took my car for almost a month. This was a minor problem. After another incident with my car I need it to find another place. My roommate refers me here and they were amazing! They check my car promptly, told me what was going on and I had the car way sooner that I was expecting. Besides that everybody is so polite. Yes, come and bring your car in here, you will not regret it.

We love going to 0500! We were wanting to buy a car, but we wanted to get a prepurchase inspection. Chris was able to work with us and get us right then. Nate was super helpful and explained everything he saw! We are car shopping and Nate told us to call if we have any questions! We love Chris and the gang. We trust them and we recommend them.

They were really nice and able to look at my car quickly. However, they quoted me $350-400 for a repair that Point S was able to do more simply for less than $80. Im not sure if they are just less experienced or if theyre more focused on profits, but I am very glad I got a second opinion!

This was my first time taking a car into a repair shop, so I have little to compare it to. However, I can certainly say I hope for the same quality of service in the future. The people I spoke to were professional and informative, and the car has been running well since it came out.

Terrible experience! They were pushy with me when I saw they were asking a ridiculous price for a service they thought needed to be added on. They charged me $50 for an unnecessary check that yielded nothing because they felt like it was needed. I had told them it wasnt necessary but they insisted they wouldnt do anything else including running the diagnosis I paid for till it was done then when I told them I would be doing the repair myself instead of accepting their add on, they said they wouldnt do any more work on my car if I did it myself (threatening!?) In the end, They pretended to know more than they could tell me and were very unprofessional in the way they acted like i didnt know anything. Go to a more professional shop.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE! My car broke down within the city and I called these guys last minute and Nate took me right in. They are very thorough and look over the car before you leave and tell you what to expect. They do follow up phone calls explaining the issues with your vehicle and ensure that you are okay with it before they proceed with repairs. We have been pleased with the service we have received from 0500 Mechanics. When we have had car issues, they have very good about fitting us in, contacting us about what the issues are, the cost of repairs and also the timing of when they would be done. We have used their services for several years and have been pleased with their work.

The men working there are very sweet and care about customers as people, not just for the money. I went in to ask if they thought my car needed snow tires, and instead of taking advantage of my lack of knowledge, they were honest with me and told me my tires would work just fine for me. I went to them again later for my oil-change and they did a courtesy check on the rest of the car to make sure there werent any issues, and they did an awesome job at replacing my oil and breaks within just a couple hours! They were patient with my questions and made sure to help me understand what they were saying was necessary.

Be careful of this place if you’re a college kid or low income. They’ll charge you about double what the next expensive shop will charge and about 2 1/2 times more than the cheapest. Idk if they were just charging that much because that’s just how much they charge or if they were trying to charge more because I’m a dumb college kid.

UPDATE 08-24-2020 6pmAt the end of the day the character of a man is measured how he reacts to adversity. This evening I received a phone call from Chris and he worked with me to make things right. He looked at my leak, diagnosed it and we both came up with a solution. This act alone has won me over. Rexburg needs mechanics like 0500, would recommend to anybody in need, 0500 will work with you to get you back on the road again. They’re very reasonable and honest, just communicate with them and they’ll help.08-24-2029 9amThis is nothing personal. The staff is very polite and the owner, Chris, really wants to help the customer. The reason I am giving it a one star review is because last week while driving from IF my truck broke down on the freeway. I had to push/drive until it broke down again for about a mile, this repeated a total of three times. By the time I got to 0500 I was exhausted and in need. I got checked in and all was great. I told them my issues and told them what I thought was the problem; check gauge light was on so it was either low coolant, gas, or oil. They really wanted to help. The next business day I received a call and was told my truck was driven around to Thornton and back and worked fine. It was also hooked up to a computer to diagnose. The mechanic found nothing wrong. I was upset because clearly something was wrong. I came in to share my disappointed but was met with the same mechanic who checked me in. Goodbye Mr. Smile, I was received with condescension and argument. I said I didn’t want to argue and then paid the $114 I was charged. Today I, an unprofessional, amateur everyday man found the issue: low oil and a TERRIBLE leak. Had the technician checked my oil level he would’ve come to the same conclusion, clearly he didn’t. I called the 0500 to tell them my concern, they let me down. Same technician answered and another attempt at argument ensued. 0500 you let this honest customer down. I would have loved to have done business (my leak needs fixing) but if I paid you $100 to drive my car around and put a computer on it (something oreileys does free) what guarantee do I have that you won’t let me down again? I hope you read this and we can work something out. Your technician made it clear that you have qualified technicians. Please prove it. You have my number. I’m not here to argue. It’s just business. Had a great experience. I took all of 0500 mechanics quotes and forwarded them to two of my mechanic buddies, (whos sadly dont live close or I would have gone to them) and my friends said that the pricing wasnt bad. 0500 mechanics fixed 3 problems on my truck in a fast time. They were very friendly. I mostly dealt with Nate. And they offered me a military discount which took $100 off my total.

My car broke down on my morning commute, deep in the farmland of Eastern Idaho. The tow-guy referred me to 0500 because I didnt know one Rexburg mechanic from another. Glad I found these guys. I thought my engine might have a major problem, but they diagnosed the issue as a gunked up air/fuel sensor with a bug stuck in it for good measure. They gave me a loaner car and had my CR-V up and running by the end of the day! I will go back to them for all my maintenance and repairs.

0500 were perfect. I told them the car was going to arrive the day of. They checked it as soon as they could and had my car done by that afternoon. Its been running smoothly ever since.

For over a year we have had problems with our car not starting when it was cold outside, which is a fairly big problem in Rexburg. We brought the car in for a oil change and to see if they could figure out what was wrong with it. We had been to 3 other repair places over the year and none had been able to find the problem. They found it and fixed it, and we havent had any problems so far. They are super easy to work with and their customer service was great! We would recommend this place to anyone searching for a mechanic.

Great service! In and out in one day. Employees were friendly and up front about the details of the repair. My battery wouldnt hold a charge, they discovered it was just a loose or damaged cable. I did have one problem with it starting after getting it back from them, but I waited a few minutes and then it started up fine and has been working good ever since. They also give you a free ride back to wherever you live/need to be while they work on your car. Would totally recommend!

This is the ONLY place I will ever take my car to in rexburg. The staff are super friendly and have the best customer service. I have never had a bad experience with them and I am never disappointed with the quality of service. I have taken my car here in the past and so when I had a check engine light pop up on my dash board this was the first place I thought I thought to call and take my car to and they were able to fit me in right away and diagnose it and get it all sorted for me for a great price. My wife’s 2011 Land Rover LR4 HSE had a coolant leak. Brought it in to 0500 and asked if they would be able to do the job. After tests and removal of some components they were able to find the issue. Two hoses were corroded and cracked off on top of the engine housing. When the issue was found 0500 contacted me and asked if I wanted to proceed with the replacement and the part was ordered. I received updates through the day of the vehicles status and was very happy with how the servicing was handled. I would take my vehicles back if needed in the future! This job would have costed me 1200$-2000$ at Land Rover or jaguar for parts and hours of labor but I payed way less than that.Notice all the bad reviews on here are illiterate individuals who can’t even use proper grammar or punctuation, or cheapskates who complain about a few hundred dollars.10 out of 10 for this company from me!

Being stranded on a work trip, we asked them to rush as much as they could and they had us back on the road by noon.

When our car completely died, 0500 Mechanics was able to get us in the same day, even providing towing service. They had the car fixed and back to us within 24 hours. They were also very upfront about the repairs that were needed, along with the cost. I was very happy with my experience!

I called them and Nate answered. I told him that I wanted a second opinion on my 2009 Silverado. I had just taken it in at Taylor Chevrolet for an oil change and they lightly skimmed over the possibility of a leaky steering gearbox and said it was going to cost $700 to fix. When talking with Nate, he said he’d just take a look at it real quick to see if it really was a leak from the steering gear box. He came back ten minutes later and explained that it could be the hoses and o-rings causing the leak. I asked him how much it might cost and he said let me just go take another look at it for pricing. He came back again and said he tightened a bolt that is holding a bracket that holds the hoses onto the gearbox. He said that’s probably why it was leaking. I asked him how much it would cost for the diagnosis and he said, “nothing, just leave me a good review.” So here I am! These guys have also worked on a couple of our vehicles in the past and I trust these guys’ experience over a dealership.

I had issues with my heater not working in my car as well as needing an oil change. They did a great job and are so nice, they called me with an update of what the problem was and how much the cost would be for everything depending on what i chose to do. As a female it is sometimes frustrating to go into mechanic shops but going here i always feel comfortable. Also as a college student it is expensive to get car repairs but they are always very fair and tell you how much everything will cost before they take the keys to your car. They are very nice and dont make me feel dumb or try to rip me off in any way. They also offer to give me a ride to anywhere i need to go when i drop my car off. I highly recommend 0500 mechanics, will share my experience with others, and tell them to bring their car to them for anything!

But, they were and still are HONEST and never trying to upsell me so I let them handle it all because they’ve done me right time and time again. Les Schwab, in it’s fire truck red building, is right across the street from this NAPA Auto Care Center painted a nice true blue.I serviced my car at Les Schwab before staying at 0500 and I would say the knowledge, skill, and service is about the same, but 0500 CRUsHES Les Schwab in customer service, price, time, and I enjoy the people there a little bit more too! (They have even shuttled my wife back home) I highly recommend this place and I bet you with all I’ve got that you will save some money, get treated right, and be back again. Ask for Nate! I am extremely satisfied with these guys. My father used them for years prior to me giving them a shot, Andi happened to be up in Rexburg in a bit of a time crunch, and they got me in immediately, and had me up and running very fast. My truck now performs really efficiently, and I have the peace of mind that I didn’t get screwed over by some money hungry mechanic. Their prices are more than fair, and they didn’t once try to BS me into getting more repairs than necessary. I was very pleased. It’s hit and miss with mechanics; these guys are definitely extremely knowledgeable, but don’t try to boast that to your face. I got my car serviced here and was very pleased with the service. They were super flexible and were able to get me in within a couple days (I would have gotten it done the same day but was busy). I got a synthetic oil change and they even did a tire rotation for me and checked for anything else wrong with the car; diagnostic check. Definitely recommend and the cost was cheap in comparison to other mechanic shops!

I have gone here for oil changes and have been absolutely impressed with the customer service and efficiency here! They have always had the oil change done very fast and very well. They also take the time to answer all of my questions that I have pertaining to other car issues. This being said they dont make me feel like I am being pushed into a trap and Im grateful for that. They tell me their prices and how long its going to take them, but at the end they say that its my choice and to think about. Which speaks volumes to a customer that doesnt like to be pinned up against a wall and feel pressured to give the response the company is wanting. They dont make me feel like Im a nuisance but that I am respected. Overall the best car experience Ive had.

My radiator cap broke and i had a leak in my hose and they fixed it as soon as possible for a lot cheaper than I expected. They ran a full diagnostic and told me what needed fixed right away as well as well as what else needed some work. They called and texted when they found out what the problem was and fixed the problem immediately. It was a good experience even though I was stressed about my car and I would definitely go back.

Nate was my mechanic who worked on my Jeep Liberty which had some issues with the oil pump and sensor. He pin-pointed the issues that needed to be addressed and was very honest with his work.I took my car to other places and I was given a long list of potential issues and oil leaks that could be causing my check oil light that would have costed well over $2,000. Some of which where not even accurate or related to the issue.Nate on the other hand cleaned the whole bottom of my car to see and pin point exactly what was causing the oil light issue and fixed it saving me over $1,500.Chris the owner also followed up with me a few days after to double check if our car was still doing good, Which I appreciated. Our car is doing great!

I really enjoyed my experience with 0500 Mechanics. We had to get a part replaced, and I knew it was on the pricier side. The guys at 0500 told us what was wrong, what needed to be fixed, answered all of our questions, and never pressured us to buy anything or have any work done that we didnt want. When I gave them the green light on some repairs, they got them done quickly and we got our car back later that day. Ill definitely be returning to them and would recommend them to anyone needing automotive work done.

My husband brought his Suburban in for some work. We had been quoted $400 for the repair. When they got it in to do the work, it was not as extensive as he had been quoted. They only did the work that was needed. We were able to have everything done for less than $100. It was great to know the honesty was more important than making extra money. They fixed the Suburban in a timely manner. We are always very impressed with the work done here.

I took my car to 0500 Mechanics a couple weeks ago with a coupon for a $28 oil change. They also did a full inspection of my car. They found that the serpentine belt was worn and needed to be replaced. When all was said and done, I payed much less than I anticipated for the oil change and repair. I had a great experience with them!

Tried to rip me off $200. The airbag icon on my dash was flashing, so I took it in to get looked at and I had to spend $130 to only diagnose the issue with my car. They couldnt even tell me what part was broken. They had to guess. I took it to Rexburg Auto Repair for a second opinion and they told me what the specific issue was. I figured out the part name and model, and went back to 0500. The clock spring I needed runs $239 on the market and they were trying to charge me $300ish for parts and another $150 for labor, NOT including the first $130 for the diagnosis, which I was told cost $105. So I would have spent almost $600 there. I ordered the part and took it somewhere else and they repaired it AND aligned my tires ($99) for $500. Without the tire alignment, it would have cost $398. $600 vs $400. Thanks 0500 Mechanics.

These are just my kind of people! Friendly, considerate and doing the best work that they can! Even gave me a ride back to the college while my car was being fixed the first time so I had extra time to do homework! :) I highly recommend them!The car runs much smoother now and we feel more confident that it will last us till a few years after college even!Thanks again!

I feel that they are not very honest with you in the pricing. We had our car taken and they said that the front axle was broken. They said it would cost about $700 to fix. Another mechanic told us it would be less than $400. 0500 Also offered to buy our car for us for $75 after he had checked our vehicle. He probably assumed that because I was a women I didnt know anything about cars, business, or pricing, The only thing wrong with our car was the axle. I know for a fact that we could get $300 from the junk yard for scrap metal. My husband and I had just barely put on new tires, new alternator, new battery and the car was completely fine besides that. We could easily sell those parts back for at least $500. After I explained the new things we added to our car, he said theyd buy it from us for $200-$300. Yeah, I know about vehicles extensively thanks to my dad. We will never go to this mechanic. We feel all college students should steer clear of this place unless you want to pay double.

Chris and his team provided excellent service in checking our vehicle, and doing an oil change on our 2011 Mazda 2. They found that our serpentine belt was cracked (after 71,000 miles!) and recommended replacement. We had the work done, and are happy with the outcome. We will definitely continue to have 0500 Mechanics work on our vehicles.

They are always very helpful in allowing me to understand what repairs I really need and which are most urgent or necessary. I am a single college student and my budget is tight. I have been so grateful to have their help in planning along with me to figure out what is best for the car and my overall budget. I love that they email or text you the diagnostic results after they run a test as well. It helps me know they are being honest with me about what the vehicle really needs.

Worst ever, charged me $110 for a diagnostic on my transmission, which I told them I needed to know what is going on with it my trans. They gave me 2 codes charged me and only said needs replacement. Got all mad because I asked them how they know it has to be replaced and made me get out of there.The old guy with the mustache told me they were going to call me the next day with the information of what they did to my car. Its been almost a week since they said that. Instead of calling me they responded below saying It would be hard to have me in the front sit while working I clearly not ask to see. Only asked for what they did to my car since they are charging me. Do not get mad. Just call me as you said and tell me what I asked for.
