The kids took me there for Fathers Day this year 2020. A lot of crowds considering the state had just opened up after the covid-19 pandemic. Felt very safe and comfortable. The ice cream was great.

Absolutely recommend. Good quality ice cream with a nice selection of flavors. Sundaes, Banana Boats, and all that good stuff. Very reasonably priced. This is the best normal ice cream around.

Great value and taste. Be transported back in time with a soda pop float of your choice or a unique sundae. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Ohhh my goodness, that was good. Taking a self care day at the Pier, and what a find! Ice cream sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes, Italian sodas -- this place has everything, and for a damned good price, especially for such prime real estate on the Pier. I got the La Monica Ballroom, a two scoop sundae: creamy pistachio ice cream with caramel drizzle (OOH, this was magick!) and cool mint and chocolate fudge, a generous sprinkle of nuts, whipped cream, and yes, a cherry on top. I was so excited to try it I kind of cracked into it before remembering to get a pic, heh. Wonderful quality ice cream, nice and creamy, not icey, and the pistachio was nice and chewy without being too much to be a nuisance, just well crafted ice cream. Look for them behind the carousel!

This place really stands out on its own. Its next to the carousel inside. Ive had the wonderful opportunity to meet Jammie and the other workers there and I highly respect the hard work they put into their customer service and quality of taste. I really really loved the Kens 50/50 shake! Its my favorite ice cream flavor and its been so hard to track that flavor down at restaurants as you only seem to find them in markets. Its so strange because the size they give you looks pretty big but because the quality of their products are so great, you drink so much, and so quickly that by the time you finish it leaves you wanting more! I love this place!

I really like the Soda Jerks ice Cream Shop and our family goes there almost every time we are on the Santa Monica Pier. I like the ice cream. The have a 50/50 shake that is vanilla and orange. It is pretty good. So why 3 stars. The service is slow, young workers without customer service skills, and unless you get one of 4-5 barstools - there is no where to sit. The shop is located inside the carousel which makes it unique enough to at least try it.

Just awesome. The milkshakes are fantastic. My son is addicted to the strawberry ice cream soda. The only problem is they are closed on odd days/hours. So check the website before you go!

A cute little ice cream parlor, but it was the worst ice cream the day we were there. The rocky road lacked any flavor or richness. Maybe just a bad batch that day? Hopefully.

Place is ok. I liked the old look of an old soda fountain hangout complete with a Merry-go-round. Place was a 4 star on yelp but sadly I saw fit with my 3 star. I asked the bartender what was cool for a first time try. He recommended a Egg Cream Fountain drink, egh. Cool with the whole carbonated drink but the taste was really funky for me. I wish I had more time to explore there menu but with free parking ticking away, and I had to see all of Santa Monica Pier in a hurry. I can see myself coming back tho, the menu looks awesome.

The pier is a great place to have fun, but this place like so many other food establishments on the pier is horribly bland and overpriced. Bring your own snacks. I miss the icee guys with the cart.

Huge scoop of moderately satisfying ice cream that tasted nothing like coffee. Fun, magical atmosphere at the carousel.

Tried their chocolate egg cream (never had it before) but my east coast friends say it reminds them of their childhood. It tasted like nesquik, soda water and cream. I asked for a tap water and they gave me a little dixie cup worth- I laughed. There is a carousel in the middle of the building and the place smells. They definitely up-charge because they are on the Santa Monica pier. We walked outside and stood in their gazebo on the pier and watching volleyball players beneath us.

Strawberry icecream was yammy, but all other flavors that I tried was literally tasteless.

If I wanted melted ice cream I would have bought a glass of milk
