Foreign Affair is probably the most trusting and solid mechanic I’ve EVER used. They are about 20 miles from my home, but it’s worth the drive and the coordination of Ubering home when I drop my Toyotas. Most recently I had a broken back window. I called for advice. They called Auto-Glass To-Go, verified that I could get the repair done today. Bob called me back, provided their number and told me if I called right away they would come to my home today to install the glass. He made $0 for doing this! Just a good honest person willing to go the extra mile to SERVE someone. Thank you Foreign Affair!

Happy to be back in San Antonio so I can use Foreign Affair again. I moved away 10 years ago and forgot how good they are.

We have two Toyota’s. One is 11 years old and the other is 14. One has 150K and the other has 300K. They visit Foreign Affair about once a year. They run great and the AC is still going. The prices are wonderful and the are incredibly honest. I have to drive over 30 miles to their shop and do it gladly.

My Volvo was making a loud noise and I took it in for diagnostic. I was told the air oil separator went out. The owners are extremely kind and very knowledgeable. They explained what was needed in detail. They had my car repaired the same day as promised, and it was affordable. Thank you so much for fixing my car. It’s greatly appreciated. The owner of this business is very knowledgeable and amazing. He took his time to diagnose my car and told me exactly what was wrong with it. His customer service is exceptional. Took my vehicle to the dealer for a P0301 cylinder misfire. Dealer gave me two options. 1 take the engine apart and perform maintenance at $4K. 2 perform dynamic oil change and that MIGHT fix the problem at $1125. Brought my vehicle here and they were very attentive. I got a phone call later on and he explained that I had the wrong spark plugs in and that the coil was fine. Also had an air intake hose that was broken. I gave him the go ahead to fix it as well as an oil change. All together I paid less than $400. My vehicle is back up and running. I cant thank them enough for the awesome service, honesty, and professionalism. Highly recommend them to anyone. Do not take your vehicle to the dealership.

Dealership wanted to replace several A/C parts for $2000. I spoke to Rob on the phone. He was cordial and professional while keeping his terminology in layman’s terms. He didn’t even want to know what the dealership recommended. He did his own diagnostics and found out I only needed 1 major part replacement. He had my car fixed for half the price and had it back to me in less than 24 hours.

This small business mechanic shop provides good prices, quick work, and fair opinions on all matters related to your vehicle. A friend turned me on to these guys and weve been taking our Honda there ever since. The only downside is that they wont work on my Chevy. This business is definitely worth checking out if you need some work on a foreign car.

Foreign Affair are wonderful! We take both of our Toyota vehicles there on the rare occasion that they need repair. The last time, we were having an issue with an air conditioner. When Foreign Affair was unable to duplicate the problem after trying for a full day, they returned it to us WITHOUT CHARGE! A few days later we took it back while the problem was happening and they fixed it courteously and promptly, and at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, there are some shady repair shops out there. It can be intimidating for anyone to take their car in for tuneups or repairs. As a woman, I am always nervous, but you don’t have to worry about that shady business here.Everyone is so honest and helpful. You can tell they really care about their customers and the work they do. They have gained my business for life. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Ive taken my truck here before. This time my car. They checked brakes and fault codes and reported that the car was OK and didnt need anything. How often do repair shops do this? Besides never. Bob could have replaced rotors and pads and I would have been content to pay the bill. He chose honesty. I will be a loyal customer and share my experience with others

I used to work for Bob and Olga when I was in college. It has been some years now but I can personally attest to their honesty and fairness to their customers. Ive seen Bob go over and above several times to make sure his customers are well taken care of. He personally supervises every single job that goes in and out of that shop. Hes thorough and very honest with competitive pricing. He trains all of his mechanics to be just as meticulous when it comes to diagnostics and repairs. Love this place. So hard to find an honest mechanic - but you have one here! Foreign Affair was recommended by a coworker when I first moved to San Antonio and I couldnt be more pleased. I had taken my Accord to a local dealership where they tried to charge me nearly $3K for a variety of trumped-up repairs. I took it to Bob and he fixed what actually needed to be fixed for @$600. I now take my car in for an annual inspection, which I would never do at a dealership (they would have a field day) - that is how much I trust this place. And both Bob and Olga are lovely (except when Bob gives me grief about the dog hair in my car. I swear, I just cleaned it! Hes a shedder!! ;)

None better. My vintage MG had a slight surge that I put up with for years, and several MG gurus had been unable to fix. Mac fixed it by polishing an internal part to make it smooth - car hasnt run better in decades. And like others have said in their reviews, I was amazed when he called me on a Sunday night to tell me what he had found. Im a fan!

2004 VW Passant | Coolant issues | Bob & Olga once again resolved the issues faster than expected and was able to get the vehicle back on the road. Master Mechanic that is fair and knows how to fix cars.

I took my sister-in-laws 1982 Alfa Romeo to Foreign Affair for repair; it had been sitting for quite some time and would not start. After a few updates I was told it was running and ready to go. When I attempted to drive the car away it stalled before I got to the driveway. He took it back to the shop and said we had to wrong gauge of fuel hose attached to the fuel pump and he had none in stock to replace the hose, but once I did it would be fine. I took him at his word and limped the car home as it stalled and barely maintained above 20 MPH. After replacing the hose there was no change so I call Foreign Affair and informed them the vehicle was not functioning. His response to me was, and I quote you said you wanted it to run, you didnt say (run) well. After I recovered from a brief state of shock I was outraged that this master mechanic would say such a thing and took no time in letting him know. He thereafter said I could bring it back in or he would refund the $280+ dollars he charged my sister-in-law. I took option 2 and would NEVER recommend this facility and NEVER take another vehicle there for repair. However, if you choose to ignore this review I highly recommend you specify how well you would like your vehicle repaired.

Foreign affair is run by a wife and husband. I came across this place accidently when I was having problems with my Infiniti FX35 near RAFB. They are extremely honest, I check their prices on parts and they were not ripping me off. I was very impressed with the communication and the ease of the process. I had 2 coils burn out I believe coil 3 &5.

4 stars I guess? I went there with my 5 series bmw and they referred me to another shop for quicker service.
