My husband and I moved from VT to NC a month ago, and we bought 2 vehicles from them yesterday, it was easy! Not to mention they had great AND unique selection of inventory to choose from. They have the volume and pricing that large dealerships have, but the hometown, neighborly feel you want. Buying a car is a huge purchase, they made it worthwhile for sure! We will be their customers for life.
I recently had some service work done on my truck which didnt purchase at Deacon Jones and I was treated as if did. Scott and his team were professional and respectful. Scott heard me out and told what it was and sure enough it was and he took care of it quickly. Hes extremely knowledgeable. Going back to buying my truck elsewhere I wish I did buy from Deacon. I have purchased several cars from Deacon and missed the Deacon experience. Missed it so much that I sold my truck and purchased 2 vehicles from Deacon all do to the service department. I recently purchased a car that had a defective backup camera. Unfortunately this wasn’t something I noticed until the next day after I purchased the vehicle.The issue was not something that was covered under warranty but they welcomed me to bring it in and they would take a look. Since they don’t service Honda vehicles, they sent me to a Honda dealership and paid the diagnostic fee.Once the issue was diagnosed, they reimbursed me for the new camera. Throughout the entire processes, they were courteous and understanding. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure I was happy as a customer.If you’re looking to purchase a new vehicle, I highly recommend this dealership! You will be in great hands throughout the process.
This service department is amazing! I was out of town and ended up needing a new turbo in my Ram 3500. They were great about getting me worked into their very busy schedule. I expected it to take a couple of days but they had the parts in stock and were able to get in completed in less than a day. I live in Atlanta and tend to travel to get the best deal for my vehicles. Everyone at Deacon Jones was wonderful to work with.I contacted Shane on a used Jeep and he was fully transparent on the price. Super honest and pleasant to work with. When I got there, I worked with Andy and he too was awesome. The Jeep was missing a bag for the freedom tops and Andy got one no problem. Also fixed a light cover in the armrest storage. Again, no problem.HIGHLY recommend Deacon Jones.
This review is for the Chrysler service center. We have brought our vehicle in for the same problem with the sliding door 3 times now. Each time we have dropped it off at opening and received no updates at all until we call. That basically screams out that they havent TOUCHED our vehicle until we become the squeeky wheel. Weve dropped over a grand to repair but they claim there is no issue. We even researched the issue ourselves, providing the suggested steps to repair and they havent had the time to perform the repair. We duplicated the issue after the first fix was completed, to be greeted with a can of lubricant sprayed generously as a fix. Come on people!!!! Im no mechanic but did you honestly believe that would work???On a separate issue, we paid $50 to have 2 parts expedite shipped - over 3 weeks later, WE had to call to find out one part had been in for around 17 days and the other earlier this week. Apart from Shannon, the service department at this business has ZERO customer service skills. It is as if they are doing you a favor by picking up the phone. Apparently their computer system is stored by the individual user as each time weve come in weve had to literally explain the entire history of our repair and orders all over again. The one gentleman literally huffs in the phone and interrupts you, barking out whatever he needs while youre answering his question.Sadly we are too invested financially to do much more than suffer through their inept processes. Be forewarned to search for another repair center though so you dont endure the same.

I have purchased 22 cars in my life and I have never dealt with a dealership like Deacon Jones CJD&R. I made a phone call to them in regards to a Ram 1500 truck they had advertised. After speaking with Mike Reeves I knew this was the place I was going to buy from. He was professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond what “normal” dealerships do. I originally posted a one star review due to text communication problems with Deacon Jones. It seemed overly difficult to obtain a best price from the dealership. After discussing the problem with the sales manager I understand how it happened and some of the limitations of their system.Once the communication issues were corrected I was able to get a fair and competitive price. Glad it was able to be worked out.

Last night we bought our fifth vehicle from Deacon Jones Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in 5 years. We keep coming back because the sales and finance team are amazing. They are not pushy, they work within our guidelines, treat us with respect and handle every concern or question we have.This time around, we worked with Ruth as our sales rep. She was amazing. She was super friendly, respectful, energetic and supportive. She happily embraced our insanity and banter as though we had known her for longer than 4 hours. She entertained our ideas and questions and was very willing to do what she could to help us decide on anything, whether we bought a car or not. She worked with Brent (sales manager maybe? sorry Brent, i dont know your title lol!) who was very responsive and attentive in finding us the best package for interest rate, loan, trade in value, discounts, all of it. They helped me but I feel they were pushing me to other people instead of dealing with just one person. They are kinda pushy when it comes to what the warranty covers. Kind of felt like they wanted more money than the customer service. Refused to let my husband in the room while signing the papers

Jesse Upchurch is the man! I felt terrible walking in at 4pm on a Saturday two hours before they closed, but He did not mind at all! He stayed late and showed me and my Wife every vehicle we were interested in and even let us test drive them all. Outstanding Salesman! He even chased my Two year old around the showroom so I could focus on details of all the paperwork. Great atmosphere, very little pressure and I really enjoyed the service. I would recommend this dealership all day everyday! 3 hours in and out and me and my wife have a new Ram 1500 Laramie, and a Jeep Rubicon.

Today was a very special day for me. I bought my first official car and was fortunate enough to buy from the Deacon Jones Jeep dealership in Selma, Nc. I had fears at first buying my first car after hearing every horror story under the sun about the process of buying one. All those fears were laid to rest when the sales associate, Ruth Pincus, assisted me in purchasing my new ride. She made it a very welcoming experience. Theres something about her that gives you the piece of mind knowing youre in good hands. she gave me all the details about the car, coming along for the test drive and finally completing the sale and handing me the keys. There were a few aspects she did personally that both my mother and I greatly appreciate. She was even able to help me set up the bluetooth in the car to my phone which is more hospitality then i could have ever imagined. I have nothing but great things to say about Ruth and my experience with purchasing a car from her at Deacon Jones. It was extremely pleasant, comfortable and overall a great experience. Theres something to be said when you shake someones hand when you first meet them and by the end of youre meeting your hugging her as if she is part of the family.The great customer service did not stop with her however. The associate in the finance department, Calif, was very welcoming in a situation most dread to deal with. He was very informative about the services they offer and their financial assistance. His explanation was very detailed but easy to understand and not intimidating at all. By the end of it i was having a great time with him and my mother, who was assisting me in purchasing the car, talking about his family.Again, i was blessed to have Ruth assist me in buying my new Wrangler which has honestly been a dream come true. We went this past weekend to purchase a car for our daughter. I will have to say it was the best experience we have had with purchasing a vehicle, ever!! I was shopping around for a Jeep and contacted numerous dealerships for their best price on a specific model with certain features. When purchasing a car, I tell all of the dealers to give me their best price and the best prices wins...I do not play dealers off of one another. If I was a dealer I wouldnt want it done to me so I dont do it. I contacted Deacon Jones and the general sales manager Mike Reeves responded instead of me helping you get a good deal at your local dealer, after getting all your prices contact me and let me know what it will take to earn your business. I was rather put off by the response but I shared with him the vehicles I was interested in and told him to make me an offer. He made me the best offer at the time but we had not talked financing. Once we worked through the financing he went over the top aggressive with closing the sale (called me twice and messaged me twice within 90 minutes). I dont work that way and let him know I had other priorities at the time. He told me Im sorry. I have only sold one car today and thought we could wrap up your deal. Sorry to be a pest. He turned me off of a good deal while I was trying to get an understanding of what the insurance would be on the car. In the meantime, I decided to continue searching other dealerships for what I was looking for and found a similar vehicle but with more features. I called the dealership and told them the same thing I told all dealers: make me your best offer. Their offer was a couple hundred dollars cheaper for a better vehicle. So I drove 150 more miles roundtrip than I would have had to drive to get to Deacon Jones and purchased the vehicle. Mike contacted me to ask if Id bought a vehicle and when I told him yes he responded, Im glad I could help you get a good deal somewhere else. This is a false assumption and I did not appreciate my integrity being called into question.

The employees who work in the service department at Deacon Jones in Smithfield are very professional and efficient whenever they do service work on my vehicle. They diagnose the problem when I have one with my vehicle and get the repairs done in a timely manner. Whenever I have repairs done to my vehicle I know that it has been repaired correctly and I dont have to worry about the problem reoccurring. I have been a customer of Deacon Jones for many years and recommend them to anyone who needs service work done to their vehicle.
I recently bought a Ram 3500 from this dealership. The price was good and they gave me a fair price for my trade. The problems happened when we went into the finance office. My wife and I knew, like ever dealership they would try to up sale us on a extended warranty. My wife and I discussed this ahead of time and had decided we would not be doing that. Mr. Goodwin, the finance associate was walking us through the paperwork when we got to the point he throws the for $40 extra a month I can give you a 8 year warranty on your vehicle bumper to bumper. We politely declined and asked to move on. He then asked if there was a reason we were declining. We stated we had already discussed it and if we chose to buy a warranty it will be close to when the 3 year factory is up. The paperwork continued, and out of no where he stated “I make more than both of you combined and it makes since for you to buy this warranty.” I couldn’t believe what he just said. He essentially was trying to give me advice based off his income...I’m a police officer, so yes I don’t make a lot of money and to me this was a bit of a smack in the face. My wife let him know if another word was spoken We would walk out. He pretty much stayed quiet the rest the time. On to the vehicle. The trucks great except one thing. A service light was on when I bought it and I was told it would just be a quick fix (a reflash of the computer). Turns out they had to order a part. They ordered the part and then when it came in they never called me to let me know it had come in. I had to call 2 weeks after getting the vehicle looked at to see if the part had come in, and of course it had. Why wasn’t this vehicle fixed while it was just sitting on the lot un sold? They say they do a PDI on every vehicle prior to putting it on the lot...clearly this is a half truth. Because of these reasons I can not recommend this dealership to anyone. I’m not someone that normally post reviews but the total experience at this dealership both sales and service was disappointing.
I usually give 5 stars for service, but this time is different. I had a 9am appointment for service. The service was not completed until 11am. I had other appointments I had to reschedule. Deacon Jones has always treated me with courtesy and respect. I dont know what happened this time. They ended up giving me a free oil change and tire rotation. This helped a little, but it took up my time which was valuable that day because of previous appointments. I will not stop coming to Deacon as I have bought 3 Town and Country vans from them. I drive from Jacksonville, NC to have my van serviced as this is my preferred dealer. It will continue to be.

Service department is lacking in every avenue. I dropped my car off Sunday night for Monday service. No calls nor contact of any kind. I called and left messages with no responses. Finally Tuesday I had the receptionist physically go get someone so I could find out the status of my car they had for 2 days. It would be nice to know if they needed it overnight. I finally talked to Lee who had no answers and said he would call me back. I ended up going to the dealership and got a rough quote of $850 for the radio to be replaced on my 2016. I paid for my service and diagnostic charge and left. I called corporate Jeep and they opened a case up. About a week goes by and they call me back and apologize for the delay but the dealership hasnt been easy to get in touch with. They offer me $500 rebate once I do the repair and told me the dealership refused to assist with the repair cost. The vehicle isnt 10 years old and I bought it new from them. A couple weeks later I decide I need to go ahead and do the repair so I call deacon Jones Jeep service to get the quote again (halfway decent service departments make notes they can pull up in the system). Guess what, no answer so I leave a message. After 1.5 weeks of leaving messages I finally get Lee on the phone and was told he had to look up the part since info isnt showing. He does call me back and tells me around $1000. Thank you deacon Jones Jeep for making it aware you dont need my business or anyone else I can steer away from your company. I also will not be buying any other vehicles from your dealership based on the service or rather lack of. Side note I have had my oil cap left off and a lug cross threaded. I fixed those issues myself, because I cant trust they would be fixed properly since they werent done right the first time. Horrible horrible horrible!!!!! I was an assistant service manager for years for Honda/Acura so I do know how everything works with out of warranty and just communication and customer service. This service department is garbage from the start and continues to decline!

This review is about a year over due. I had an okay experience here. Me and my husband were helped by a salesman by the name of Greg. In the beginning we were just interested in looking but somehow and another we ended up in the process of buying a car. This was my first purchase without my husband as a co-signer and was very wary with my credit being run multiple times but Greg made me feel at ease saying that I was already approved. That was far from the truth. My credit was run multiple time and it would have been nice to have been told about this as it was happening as opposed to getting notifications by my credit monitoring service AFTER the fact. Greg also told us that we would only go upside down about $1000 dollars on our trade which was also far from the truth. In total we went upside down about $4000 give or take. Last lie we were told was that Greg was going to help us get a SECOND key at a discount. When we went through the process and signed all of the paper work we went back to ask about the key and Greg was very dismissive of me and my husband and apparently WITH the discount the key was going to be about $400. So they want your business but after you buy the car they don’t really care to deal with you anymore.
Mike Reeves is the best! Will follow him anywhere to buy a new car or truck.
I have had the best experience with this dealership and their service department. Everyone I spoke with was attentive and knowledgeable. They worked with me to find the issue with my Jeep. I do a lot of my own work and they took the time to hear what I had done already, didnt waste time hunting in the same area, and pinpointed the issue. Ill absolutely be coming back for further service on my Jeep.

I have had the worst experience when buying a new car at the Deacon Jones Dodge in Smithfield NC. First I went into the service centre because my 2013 Dodge Darts key ignition was stuck and would not come out. So I got an estimate of about $400-$500 for the repair I asked the gentleman that was there if I could talk to someone about looking for a new car. I was introduced to Mrs.Ruth with Dodge, a very nice lady she asked me what I was looking for and what was my budget. We threw around some numbers since I wanted to get something that was above the the base model. I fell in love with a red and black Dodge Challenger T/A that was around $48,000. I test drove it and loved it even more so I said to go ahead and see if I can get it. I was told to call my bank to see if they would finance the car for, I called and was on hold for a long time an tell Mrs Ruth said that they got the car approved with a trade in for the Dart. Coastal federal offered $5,000 for the trade with no money down on my part. I signed the papers all was good I drove the car for about two weeks when I got a call from one of the financial people about proof of income, I said that I would text a picture of my pay stub and always said that he wanted me to send him the VIN# I said okay no problem. Once the picture of the pay stub and VIN# was sent I asked is everything okay? He stated (I don’t remember his name) to me that there shouldnt be any issues. I reply back to let me know what’s happens. Never heard back from him, I called Ruth she said that they had the wrong VIN# and needed me to come in to redo the paperwork. I came in that day waited about 15-20 minutes till Ruth said that they didn’t have the paperwork ready for me I will have to come In later on that day or she will call me to set up an an appointment before the Florence hurricane comes which was In 3 days. Never got a call even after the hurricane left, I called Ruth to ask what’s the status on the paperwork she replied not sure but there was another issue which was financial, and that I needed to talk to Bruce. So Ruth went ahead and transferred me to Bruce’s phone which went to voicemail. I happened to be in town so I stopped by to see them in person, I waited for Ruth for 30 minutes till she came to me to say that Bruce is off today. I said to Ruth that I’m only off on Sunday and Monday’s when will he be in she said tomorrow Tuesday 9/18/18 he will be in at 8:00 am, I said that I would be there around 10 am. I showed up to speak with Bruce he said that he made a mistake on paper was 28,000 for annual income he submitted it for 58,000. I asked now what he said that he needs to the the car back but what he will do for is for my Dart repair it with no cost me. I replayed there’s got to be something else I put 705 miles on the car since I had it, I want to talk to the owners about this he said that they are busy out if the the state in meetings. I asked him to find a car that I can be financed for it’s being looked at now but I feel so cheered no one told me anything about what was really going on I got a runaround. I feel very disrespected, also what makes me even angry is that Bruce said that his owner said to get back to car even knowing what happened. How do you run a business like that? Seems like the car is more important than me a human being.

Brought my daughters first car to them to get it checked out. They were honest and explained everything to me. I brought it back to get brakes, AC repaired as well as catalytic converter replaced. I bought a 2018 GMC SLT Crew Cab pickup Feb 18, 2020. The truck had 22 K miles. I live 2 hours away in VA. I had a good experiance dealing with the general manager, Mike. We made the deal over the phone. Real nice salesman waited on us, allowed me to test drive. Truck seemed to be fine. My fault, I should have driven it on a highway that I could have gotten everything warmed up. Well, on the way back to Richmond my wife and I noticed the truck had a shudder (vibration) on and off, sort of like tires but it wasnt continuous. I told her it felt like the torque converter. I called Mike the next morning and asked if Deacon Jones has a return policy? He said, we dont have one. He said he was sorry & had no idea that the truck had a problem. Long story short, thank goodness the truck has a 5 year 60,000 mile warrenty. Ive got in in service now at Haley GMC. They called me yesterday & said it is a common problem with these trucks. The 1st mechanic said that he thought it had a bad converter. Called me back today & said they are going to flush transmision first & put a different synthetic fluid in it. This is what Gm has them to do first, hopfully this will correct the problem. Beautiful truck, really like the truck. Hind sight, when you test drive, check what ever you are buying out real good & ask the salesman some simple questions like, what if? Youve signed off! Its your baby now!

FINALLY!!! A dealership that doesnt take all day to make a deal and sign paperwork!! I was in and out within 2-3 hours! Worked with Phillip Jones at the Jeep dealership to purchase a Jeep Renegade and worked with Cody Dale in the Finance Department. Both were very professional and easy mannered to work with, I never felt like I was pressured to buy a car/make a deal. This was my first time purchasing a vehicle from Deacon Jones, but it definitely wont be my last purchase!

I dont think that I will ever go back to another Deacon Jones, for anything. Not to purchase, not to service, not for anything. Its frustrating to have a dealership not understand the grief and stress that is being caused by a defected product they sell. After 2+ years of dealing with the Deacon Jones line, I dont think that I will ever return and its shameful because there are some really good people there. But, with this situation I have been through, the lack of understanding is disappointing and I am just in complete disgust. Speaking with management was a complete waste of my time and energy, because nothing has been accomplished. I have pure migraines over this and its just not fair....never ever will I ride in, drive, or deal with the Deacon Jones label. I once loved this place, truly loved this place, now, I have lost all hope in the entire business.

Drove 1 1/2 hour with check to purchase 2012 GMC and on test drive transmission would not shift. Was told earlier that morning that the truck was all good to go with no issues. Wasted half of day driving!!!!

They sold us a jeep with an open recall on a major engine component and failed to disclose the problem. When we spoke to a manager, he simply said there wasn’t anything they could do about it now. I will NEVER go to this dealership for anything again and I would advise the same for anyone looking for an honest business experience.

I had to take my Ram Truck in for a recall fix to the ignition module. I drove to the service garage entrance where the door opened automatically, drove in, gave the service manager the keys, went to the customer lounge for about 45 minutes and then it was ready in the time they said it would be. Couldnt be simpler than that. The lounge is nothing fancy but its comfortable, got a TV area, snacks, drinks, and a separate place to read. Ill be back.The only criticism I have is that when I go to schedule service, sometimes its very difficult to reach a service manager when they are really busy. I either get put on hold or the phone just rings and rings and rings and no one answers which can be pretty frustrating.So a suggestion...it would be good in these situations if there was an automated voice mail that I could leave a message with so a service manager could call me back later when theyre not so busy.
I had a problem with my Grand Cherokee as I was passing through Smithfeild. The folks in the service dept went out of their way and busy schedule to help a stranger out.Nicest, kind hearted peoplein this dealership, made my day.
