This place rocks! Allocations are awesome. They bought a Wii system from me for thirty bucks. They have a lot of people trying to make sales so try to call ahead and make sure that they are interested in your product and also plan to drop your stuff off and come back a few hours later. Also they dont let you know what their offer is over the phone even when you have drop things off hours prior. You have to come back either way to pick up your stuff or your money so its really not as big of a deal as it sounds like.

I love this Zia. Ive been to all of the locations including Tucson and both Vegas locations and this is my favorite one. (They are all great though) The selection is great for everything. Ive probably spent thousands of dollars here over the years. The first Zia I ever went to was the old location off University and I miss the old school record store vibes, but this location is just better in every way

It may take a bit to find what you are looking for, however the selection is amazing. Save time and ask a friendly staff member to look up what you are trying to find. Pricing is fantastic at this place!

Cool place to shop. My usual go-to for vinyl records because I started collecting those in March 2021. Staff is very helpful for someone like me who has low vision.

Not just a record/CD store, although those selections are significant. You can even find old receivers and turntables, used books, and various other interesting merchandise. Love this place.

Stop in periodically to browse when I have time to burn. Always something new or quirky to look at. Can spend hours going through everything. Great laid back staff.

This quirky neighborhood store is a hidden gem. Great deals, and always getting new merchandise in. Friendly staff is a plus too. Its central location in town makes it very appealing and the deals inside make it worth your trip. Be prepared to do a bit of looking around, even though its very organized.

Havent been out much except for RSD at another shop. I was on a Linda Ronstadt binge and Zias didnt disappoint. Shes covered so many genres, I spent time in all areas of the shop. Didnt find any Stone Poneys, but was able to find Trio and some of her bigger sellers. Randy Newman, Emmylou Harris picked up and some Circle Jerks in the recent bin. Was sort of looking for Nightwish but blew the days budget on a George Harrison album and didnt spend much more time than 90 minutes. It was fun to see all the people flipping through titles!

Always get more than I went in for because theres always some great movie, album, or book available. Their website is also useful for know what is at each store if you know what you want, but going there without knowing what youre getting is half the fun.

They have lots of neat stuff. Great for music. Small video game section. Neat Keychains and pins.

Actually very pleasant. I brought in a plethora of cds and couldnt believe how well they paid for them. Pretty shocked it was awesome. Im a loyal customer so thank you. Bookman needs some guidance. Zias super staff and inventory is so impressive I really regret ever going anywhere else!Thank you to the night manager (the short dark haired tiny Young gal) was so nice to work with and made the experience very easy and profitable.

A great local source for anything entertainment related. They have thousands of movies and tv shows, along with records, video games (old and new) and a lot of sci fi/fantasy/niche merchandise.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! So cool and inviting. Fantastic staff they know their stuff. Very wide selection of everything! Vinyl is great and well kept, pre-owned stuff is clean and good quality. Books here are well curated as good as the records. Great place for fun gifts and trinkets for friends or family! 12/10!

Employees are friendly and a good vibe for sure. Clean shop overall and the browsing experience is great for the actual media (vinyl, etc.) with quite competitive prices. Be warned their prices are pretty astronomical on all the used electronics and audio equpment though. Wouldnt buy a new or used turntable or speakers from them, much better off doing your research and buying online or Craigslist etc.

How can you not love this place. Its always fun to go and bicep or just hang out

Great place to drop in and either purchase or trade in any type of media! Vinyl, cassette, VHS, dvd, BluRay, video games, everything!!! Lots of cool memorabilia too. And if they don’t have it here, they might have it at another Zia location! The music that plays inside is always good too.

Its always been good but ultimately their A/C is off and it becomes hard to breath, its really hot inside, I guess this virus is in someway gone, nothing is gonna happen if they have their air conditioning on

I love Zia.This is the friendliest, best stocked, and best discount Zia that I have been to. Since it is in a nice area in Tempe, you can look hip/punk Rock/ hip hop, and feel at home both in and outside of the store.Theres a Frys across the street, Venezias Pizzeria, Burger King, and much much more, which I wont mention because of which, I will not promote.It is also just a short drive north, to downtown Tempe, Mill Ave and University, beautiful city, mountains, and female scenery.Anyway, that is neither here nor there.Have fun you crazy kids.

I travel far to see what new. Guess first time for everything but I dont know if I will be able to be traveling back there again to many worker and dont ask if need help?

Great alternative place to find new and used movies, blu-ray, cds, vinyls, video games, board games, books, random knicknacks like cups, socks, wallets, lanyards, hats, clothes, etc. They accept all of the above for trade credit or cash back as well, just like Bookmans; trade credit is always higher. On the bottom of every receipt from purchases or trades you recieve a coupon for 10% off any item in the store (I believe not on discounted merchandise). To redeem, simply go on their website listed, let them know how your experience was, and write down the code on the receipt! Friendly associates avaliable whwnever to help you find what youre looking for. I would recommend to anyone!

I have been going to the ZIA in Tucson for 5 years but since Ive moved to Phoenix, I find myself driving from Glendale to Tempe at least once a week just to go to this location. They have a great Metal section and I can always find a few hidden treasures among their sale bins. The store manager Brianna is very helpful and Paige who works the trade counter is very nice and friendly and quick to finish my trade-ins (even when I bring a large bunch of CDs). Definitely the best of the ZIA locations in the Valley.

I went to sell my record collection of over 400 records. I knew it was going to be less than market value, but the offer was much lower than I was expecting. I told them I couldn’t sell them for that price and they said they would package them back up for me. When I got home I noticed that some of my records were picked through and missing. I called and after 10 mins of having to explain that I know my records were not all there, they “found” them. I came back and picked up a box that had all of my higher value items in it. Shady business.

Review written after purchase of several CDs and a gift card. Store has huge selection of music on CD and vinyl, as well as movies, merchandise, candy, drinks, etc. Staff are helpful and friendly. Masks required (with sign posted), and all staff I saw adhered to the guideline. There was a manufacturing issue with one new-in-package CD I bought, and both the employee and manager with whom I spoke were courteous and provided a very satisfactory resolution to the problem.

Marked as a record shop, this place has so many more things to offer, including pop culture merch, toys, novelties and some nostalgic used goods! The variety of their stock is completely astounding, and I feel like I could browse for hours on end! I know I did.Also, I particularly love the humor in their labeling system. Definitely the sort of people that are passionate about their trade!

I dont recommend buying used stereos from this place and I doubt they bother testing them either, you wont get your money back.

Dont Waste your Time. You can buy everything they sell new for a cheaper price elsewhere. And what they sell used, is most likely someone elses garbage theyll leave you stuck with, No returns accepted. Buyer beware potential for faulty products.

I have not been in a true music store since I left California 4 years ago! I was in Phoenix area for business with time to kill and with stores like Best Buy and Walmart not carrying much of a selection for CDs I googled music stores and found Zia Records. The store was awesome. Very large selection of music from CDs to vinyl with great prices! Staff was very friendly! I will definitely be back when Im in the area!

I love the selection & variety of dvd/blu-ray movies, cds & pop culture paraphenalia. I find something new & interesting each time I go. Theres other locations but this one offers store front parking & seems to have that college vibe I like.

Found an awesome 1970s leather jacket that I call my Starksy and Hutch coat. A coat that looked like the one my dad had when I was a little boy. They had it for only $20! This was the greatest Christmas present Ive ever bought (and for myself)! LOL

Love the spot. This is my favorite store in Tempe. Great selection of CDs, records, knick knacks. I bring my son here and there is a great section of use family movies, we usually grab a $5 movie and Ill get myself a CD and or record.Pretty chill way to spend a Friday night if you ask me.

Needs ti organize their comic book section it is a mess, hard to find anything.

Definitely a good place to find new records, staff is really friendly too, but if youre coming here to sell your records youre better off selling them on your own. These guys wont give you much at all.
