As an added bonus the people are consistently helpful and friendly.Heres one thing you may not know about academy, they have an excellent outdoor cooking section. Simple things like grill brushes and utensils are good quality with prices second to none

Really nice folks behind the gun counter. They will answer any questions they can and let you know whats coming in and when. I was actually able to find some brass .380 here on an early Saturday afternoon. The ammo prices are really good here compared to other places. You just have to know whats coming in and when.If you are looking for the Smith & Wesson EZ, they have it. A bunch of other models too in 9mm, 45, 38, etc. It surprises me that a chain is able to keep on top of stock like they are. Check them out. They might have what you want.

Here we are in the end of tax free weekend and I needed a pair of Camouflage Crocs in a size 13... Not an easy find on a good day. When I asked Ryan and sales associate if they had anymore in the back .. I got the standard answer that everything they have is already on display.Ryan went the extra mile and looked up the stores close by and called to ensure they had them in stock for me. I so appreciate when someone really cares about the customers needs. Ryan your ROCK!!!

They have silicone wedding rings. Who wants to wear an uncomfortable overrated stone that somebody somewhere was enslaved for when you can go in comfort. Bonus: you dont cry when you lose it. You just go buy another one. #fedupwithallthehype

Good Customer Service, Clean, Well Stocked But Not A lot Of Variety Of Shoes.. Very Limited..Lines Are Quick.

Great Academy located on the corner of 2920 and 249. Its always quick and easy to get in and out of here. The employees are always super nice and willing to help and are very knowledgeable about the products they sell. This is one of the only Academy left in the area that has an archery expert on hand to help you with anything you need for your bow including adjustments, refletching arrows, setting up sights and drop away rests! For some reason Academy is phasing out theyre archery services.

This is a good store for all things sporting goods but what some folks may not know is that, among other things, Academy provides a really good variety of shoes and boots from different manufacturers. Its the only place that carries the New Balance shoes I like.

Love The North Face products! ~ Always able to find supplies i.e. shoes, shirts, socks, shorts, sports shirts and more for my family of 5. Store is always stocked and filled to the ceiling. Quick check out and returns are easy. Keep up the great work!

My husband went in to buy a new chair and fishing stuff. The chair was not in the shelf and he went to find an employee. Once he did he asked him to see if there was any in the back because the website said the had some. The employee said What color is it? My husband suggest he scan the bar code with his device that was hanging from his hip and check to see if they had any. The employee did not want to check to see if they had the chair in the back but finally agreed to go. Still not scanning the code. After waiting 15 mins, my husband found the employee in the BBQ section helping someone else. My husband said I guess there wasnt any in the back??? He just looked up and said Ooohh naw.Then my husband went to get his fishing license and waiting 20 mins there and still no one showed up at the counter. So he walked over to pick up 2 shirts. While waiting to be checked out he watched the store manager yell and scream at another customer when she pointed out that a bike was ringing up for a higher price than the tag said it was. He was very rude and was saying she should know that the sale was over. She also said that it was ringing up $100 more that the posted regular price. The manager said that was her problem. Needless to say she just walked out without buying anything.So my husband finally get to checkout and asks for his veterans discount. The cashier asks for his ID to provide he is a veteran. My husband asks what kind does she want. As he says this that same manager comes over and yells at my husband and the cashier You are not a veteran! You are not getting any discount!!!. Now understand my husband was a Navy Corpsman who served with the Marines wearing a shirt and hat stating that fact on Memorial Day weekend even. I am actually quite impressed that my husband did not get right back in this mans face. But this was over a discount that amounted to less than $4. The manager walked off before anything else could be said and the cashier gave it to him anyway. Needless to say we will think again about going there again!!!

Came in tonight to buy my boys some new tennis shoes. An associate named Spencer was very helpful and patient with us. Nicely priced shoes, decent selection. Will return for other needs. Thanks Tomball Academy.

Had a great visit. Was in and out with what I needed to get. The line was long but it went really fast.

Lots & Lots of floor employees willing to help. Now apparently there is only 1 person who can run a check out register. Line backed up into the clothing section. Still the poorest run Academy I been to. This one not seen me in almost a year. Reminds me Kmart. I put my stuff back on shelf and left.

Always cheaper than the competition and clearance racks are full of good finds. Hate that I missed the big sale earlier this year, but theres always next year.

The employees followed me and my family around the store the whole time we were there. We were fine until they just started grouping up and following. After we paid for our stuff the employees all grouped at the door. While we were walking out they all heard something on their radio and walked away from the door. I’m assuming they heard, “they weren’t stealing, it’s ok!” It was absolutely embarrassing and rude. Like their were plenty of people in the store and I feel like they profiled my family. For what? We pay for our stuff. All those people focused on us probably missed the ones who were actually stealing. I’ll never go back to this location. Or possibly even this store.

Asked an employee if they could look up an item on the store computer to see if they had the size I needed in stock.Instead the employee took me to the fitting rooms, opened an office supply drawer fiddled around in it and then told me they could not help me.Other than the awkward incident this Acadamy is average.

I understand that everything is busy right now with the holidays. But waiting well over a hour to get a hunting license reprinted/replaced because there is only 1 person working at customer service. Then the machine runs out of paper. Then it runs out of ink. Then between 4 different associates they cant figure out how to work the machine..... What else can you expect from anything out of Tomball.

There are never enough employees for the checkout.

Ok. Some of the customers that leave reviews and complain about the associates are a bunch of KARENS literally. Just because they cant get their way they want to complain. If you were told to get in line because any register can do a return and exchange please do it. Customer service isnt Customer service anymore. Customer service isnt the only line that can do it.Its for online pick up orders. No the customer isnt always right. Yes there maybe a long line yes you still have to wait in line like the rest of the people who are there to pay for their items. There people who want to get out of the store just everyone else. Just wait in line like everyone else. If you would like to speak to a manager please do not do it in a very rude attitude, the person who is helping are trying their best. If it isnt thier department let them ask first. Yelling at the associates does not help. Oh and everyone should know ammo is finally sale. Its federal law that ammo can not be returned or exchanged. Even if its the wrong ammo

I went to buy a 10 round mag for my sons M4, because his 30 round mag us illegal in New York.

Really quality place to get anything sport/hunting and fishing/ and clothes related. Theyve got everything for a fairly reasonable price. There is no reason not to come here, and Ill continue coming to academy for a very long time. Customer service is also very high quality. Great store!

Usually we can get in and out pretty quick....they are running with one register open. When we checked out there were 10 people waiting in line behind us. Just not acceptable practices or during the holiday shopping season.

Frequent this Academy and they have great products with competitive pricing... issue lately has been that even though they have increased business, they always have a line for the front end that goes down and around the fitting room to the back aisle. Usually only have 3 registers open and never open others - sometimes they will check people out at customer service. Expect to wait in line for 15 minutes to check out.

The SS guard at the front door was less than pleasant when asking me to gown the covislave garb, but the funny cashier more than made up for her hate-filled counterpart. Was able to shop and pay for items with minimal energy exhausted in regards to the bs mask indoctrination.

Unfortunately, this trip was not a success... it seems many retailers are low and not getting shipments. But applaud the store for making sure all employees and guests wear masks.

Discounted prices definitely not always as marked. When I brought it to the girl at the registers attn, her response was I dont work in that area, (duh) do you still want it. No offer to call for a manager or any help for that matter. Poor customer service, obviously theyve forgotten that they DO have competition out there!!!

Everything for common American sports (Football, baseball and basketball mostly) and outdoor activities (camping, hiking, fishing and hunting).

Whenever I go to Academy I wish I had more money. All the fishing gear, shoes, clothes! Employees are good, very helpful.

They always have what I need and for a great price. Very low on ammmo ( understandable ) but that is about all.

Highly recommend! Good sport type clothes reasonable priced friendly staff and safe large parking area.
