I had a lens come out of my new glasses. I walked in without an appointment. They got me in but was told I needed an appointment for future. Thats fine. But then I was kept waiting for half hour for just a lens to be put in my glasses! My husband and I always have to wait when we go there. Unexceptable! Im not going back.

Dr. K. was an awesome Dr. and led us in the right direction.

Dr. Moorehouse fixed both of my cataracts without any pain to me and his follow up was excellent. Would definitely refer him to anyone!

All of the people are very professional and wanting to accommodate your needs. The top of the heap is Dr. Gindzin, you couldnt ask for a better surgeon! He has done four of my procedures with great success. Also, he is very personable with great humor.

Dr. Morehouse has been truly professional in helping me arrive at the best solution for my eye issues, which have recently included removing a cataract, surgically placing a stent to reduce the eye pressure responsible for glaucoma, as well as inserting the lens implants that now allows me to see everything beyond the closeup reading zone without any need for corrective lenses. As his patient, I have now arrived at a point of having the best sight ever, since the time when my vision became blurry back in elementary school almost 60 years ago. But the best thing about this is the way Dr. Morehouse presents the options he can offer, while caring for and being aware of the large scale of each decision and how it would work for me. He is a complete professional both in the upbeat, but very caring manner that he has with me, as well as the skill that he has as an ophthalmologist and surgeon. I recommend him very highly. I would also be remiss if I did not include kudos to the various assistants that work with him at the surgical center, who made my recent surgery quite comfortable as I went through the various steps there. I was very impressed by all who worked with him that day and took wonderful care of me. Thank you to all of them.

My glasses broke over Labor Day weekend and I was in need of getting an appointment as soon as possible. I ended up going to the Walker office on Tues as that was the first appointment available. My experience was very good. Not only was I able to get my appointment that same day but the customer service was wonderful. From the front desk, to the doctor and to the Optician that helped me picked out glasses. Jordan Trumpie went above and beyond helping me select my new glasses. And when I asked him if there was anything he could do to jerry rigg my old glasses (one of the arms had fallen off) so I would be able to use them until I get my new ones, he took them in the back and took time to find an old arm from some parts they had available and made my glasses useful to me. He was very knowledgeable on questions I asked him and followed safety measures the entire time. He marked my order urgent and was able to have them sent to the office that is closer to me in location for pick-up. I received my glasses in less than two weeks and am totally happy with them. Thank you Walker Grand Rapids Ophthalmology for all your help and especially the customer service.

She provides helpful, objective service to the patient. As a patient I felt confident and secure in her supervision.

Scheduled an appointment almost two months out and they called me late the Friday before to tell me they cancelled it. I called back first thing Monday morning and they told me the doctor could no longer make the appointment and they would have to cancel. The earliest they could reschedule was OVER a month later. Im sure theyre busy, but canceling with little notice and not moving things around to at least get me in a few days later is poor customer service.Cant actually comment on their office or vision service because I had to find somewhere else that could schedule me on shorter notice.

I didnt have to wait long to be seen the staff was very friendly my eye doctor was very knowledgeable when I ask questions about my eye exam and very courteous.

Dr Gindzin is so knowledgeable and just great! I was terrified when I lost my eyesight in one eye one morning. I saw a different Dr at 1st and he came in as a 2nd opinion. He knew exactly what was wrong with me and took the time to explain to me what the prognosis would be. He did not encourage me to take unnecessary treatments that would not help but his recommendations were just what was needed to help me through this situation. I saw him over a period of a few months and everything worked out exactly like he said it would. I felt cared for as a human being and was definitely in the best hands. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at such a difficult time. The staff at GRO Walker are just the best, very polite, timely and caring. I am grateful for everything!

This isn’t really a medical office. They don’t even use ophthalmologists except in rare circumstances. It’s basically a giant LensCrafters. I got about 10 minutes with an optician who didn’t prescribe or do any treatment. They couldn’t even tell me what they would charge after the appointment was over.

Dr.Boyle is truly outstanding! Takes his time explaining things to you before and after surgery. I would honestly recommend him to anyone. The staff is always friendly when you visit or call the Walker St location.

Doctor Boyle incised my 7 year old sons lower eye lid granuloma. When we were referred to GR Opthamology, we assumed there would be a series of appointments (as there sometimes are at specialists) before anything was done. Dr. Boyle incised it on the first visit. Im extremely pleased with my resent eye exam and consultation with Dr. Angela Huizenga, she answered all my questions and more, she gave great solution options for my vision issues. I just learned that I havent seen an ophthalmologist in years despite having been to Grand Rapids OPHTHALMOLOGY twice in the past 3 years.This practice is passing off optometrists as Opthalmologists. It is fraudulent and the public should know what they are doing.

I was visiting from out of state with an eye injury and was fortunate enough to be able to get an appointment with Dr. VanderLugt. I was very impressed with how well trained and professional the team at the Walker office are. The staff all spoke very highly of Dr. VanderLugt. I feel fortunate to have been treated by him. He truly takes a personal interest in his patients well being and with his years of experience is someone you can trust. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Angela Huizenga seemed very knowledgeable but was able to explain things on my level of medical comprehension. She also took the time to make sure I understood the issue I had going on, why I keep having reoccurring issues, and how to correct it, also, future steps if the first treatment wasnt effective enough. Lastly, she didnt seem to glance me over, then shove me out the door like the previous Dr did. She also knew there was a likelihood that my insurance wouldnt cover the drops she prescribed, so she made the note to the pharmacy immediately that its ok to substitute with the given alternative...The pharmacy even complimented her process in that. So it made my experience even after the appointment hassle-free.

Both my husband and I have received excellent care at GRO. The wait can sometimes be a little longer than wed like, but, we have both had issues that required an unplanned visit and GRO graciously fit us in each time, on the same day of our call. One of those visits saved my husbands sight, for which we will always be thankful. The doctors weve met with are kind and ALWAYS willing to answer any questions we have-- we never feel rushed through a visit. Support staff are always friendly and helpful.

Professional yet very personal experience. I had an emergency retina tear and was seen and completely treated immediately. Even though there can sometimes be delays for a regular visit, I always remember how grateful I was that day I had my emergency.

Everyone’s really nice but the wait times seem unnecessarily high...

I am not at all happy with my glasses; they are to strong and give me bad headachs, but the doctor is insisting my script is correct and is making it out like Im crazy. For paying close to $400 out of pocket AFTER insurance I will NOT be going back there. I got TWO pairs of glasses for a 1/4 of that price at American Optical and was VERY happy with them!

I had a chalazion removed from my lower lid. They are busy, so it took a while for the entire process but they staff was very nice and it was fast and almost painless. They are very thorough.
