Vienna is a great cafe. Although, I find it alarmingly under-staffed, the baristas are extremely helpful and considerate about any customization you might have. It is one of the few places which doesnt charge extra for soy milk. I wish they did the same for other non-dairy too. Soy latte with coconut flavor is one of my favorite drinks on campus. They put great amount of effort in making the sandwiches too. Its a nice place to sit inside and outside, I like the dim lights. I am waiting for someone to fix the couch in the corner.. Vienna also hosts events and advertises some great events in Lafayette, so check them out.
Cool cafe. I like the cappuccino and brownie here. Highly recommend it!
Local coffee shop with a unique vibe. Quite the hangout for free spirited individuals. You will never have a dull conversation in the patio. Good coffee and baked goods to energize you for the day.
Great ambiance, great people, and great conversation. The baristas are extremely friendly and make you feel at home. The patio outside is also a great place to hangout when the weather is nice.
Great coffee. Reasonably priced for what you get. Love the vanila chai lattes.
Nice relaxing cafe open late. The breakfast quiche is so good.
Love it!The one place in town that can make Turkish Coffee!
Amazing. Try the Hummus, and the curry cashew sandwich. Oh, and of course the coffee. These guys know whats up.
Good, but the couch where I sat seemed dirty and was positioned in a wrong place. Decoration is not the best.
Love this cozy spot. The baristas are friendly. There have delicious coffee. Try the lavender vanilla latte or the strawberry mocha.
Good coffee and people. Great place to smoke darts
Hands down my fav coffee shop during my time at Purdue. Greay breakfast and sandwiches, cool varieties in daily special drink rotation and very busy social vibes.
The best coffeshop Ive ever been to!
The refresher is absolutely worth it.
Nice pastries and good chai tea. Good place to relax.
Great place to get a coffee/tea on campus. The staff is great and the overall atmosphere is my favorite of all coffee shops on campus in my personal opinion. We went here often during our time at Purdue. The manager is a great guy and the staff was always kind to us. I would highly recommend this coffee shop!
Best coffee shop in West Lafayette!! Staff is always friendly coffee is always great:)
This is mine and my fiances new lunch hot spot. The coffee is great, and the sandwiches are amazing. I highly recommend the Charlie Parker, it is the best sandwich Ive had in a long time. Pita bread with oil, pesto, and dont forget onion and turkey. Its the bomb. Also their potato salad is pretty good, and I havent found a dessert yet I havent enjoyed. Lots of Purdue college students doing homework, and there always seems to be a math study group hanging around, but the atmosphere is nice.
Purdue Alum here! This was my spot on campus. Great desserts and specialty drinks. I even enjoyed lunch there often. Go go go! Enjoy
One of my favorite places to go on campus. The food is affordable and flavorful, I love the drink options, and their bakery treats are phenomenal. I appreciate their night and weekend events and how they open their space to community activism. This is a very meaningful place for me, overall.
Too many coffee drinkers. Sometimes they have people who are bit hippie here. Sells good hand-made coffee. Good Lunch/bites.
During my stay in Lafayette I came here and spent my mornings and some afternoons relaxing here. Nice atmosphere to study and hang out outside or inside and the coffees are very nice. People are very nice and all types of people hang out here. Great environment.
Cozy if a little run down. I like it, and visit often. But it could really use a deep clean.
If Abby is serving you can be sure that it will have good music playing. Its my favorite coffee shop on campus, the staff is always friendly and the music is good.
For the most part, Vienna has been great. However, today I bought some scones that were pretty hard/dry. Come to find out, not all the baked goods are fresh. I would recommend asking about the freshness of a baked good before buying it, because its disappointing buying something full price and finding that its stale.I mentioned this to the employees working at the front, and there was little action taken to rectify the situation, which was more disappointing.
I usually use the place as a fallback to Greyhouse if I cant get a seat there, but primarily because generally when I go to one of them, I go to get reading done rather than work, the latter of which Vienna is better-suited to, given the table-to-cushioned chair ratio. Its probably a bit quieter, too, if only for usually lighter crowds. Beverages are of price and quality fairly typical for a coffee shop. Havent tried to the food, so I cant really speak to that.
Their vegan options are spectacular.
Wonderful place to study! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are cheaper than most coffee shops in the area, and they play such a wide variety of music that changes with each shift. A great place to come and do homework or just hang out and chat with friends.
I love the coffee here! My favorite drinks are all the flavored black coffees and Chai Lattes (try half vanilla and half spiced - It is incredible!).Vienna is a wonderful environment to be productive and hold meetings. My friends that I conduct research with and I meet here all the time. I strongly believe if I were to document the time I spend here and the number of papers I complete, there would be a strong correlation.I recommend Vienna to all my friends; most of my friends who come here tell me later how they started come here all the time too. :)
Absolutely, hands down, the best coffee shop on campus. The John Purdue Club is the best sandwich ever made.
Love their brownies! They have good blended coffee for ppl who dont prefer ordinary black coffee. Its a place where you can find the best vegan desserts too. Their spinach quiche is a must try brunch!!!
The atmosphere at nights is amazing. They have kareoke nights and the vibe is amazing. Ive had their iced coffee and its really good!
Friendly staff and great coffee! Vienna is one of my favorite places to caffeinated and study on the weekends. The shop is spacious, with plenty of comfy seating whether you prefer cushy couches or tables. Ive found that while their WiFi is a little slow, you can easily use Greyhouses guest network from inside Vienna, which usually is better. It definitely varies depending on how busy they are
Great service, even better coffee and pastries.
This quaint and cozy coffee house is extremely friendly and has an ambience that welcomes anyone who walks through the doors. I stopped while I was driving on route 65 N. had to travel about 15 minutes but it was worth the drive, the service was exceptional, courteous and the coffee was excellent also their prices are extremely reasonable.
Great coffee shop! Decent prices too! Only complaint is the last few lattes Ive received were more like cappuccinos (way too much foam for my taste)
I cant say I had the full experience, because I stood at the register for a couple of minutes without being acknowledged by any staff. I ended up going to the neighboring coffee shop because of this.Vienna was recommended to me by a friend, saying it was cheaper than others, and tasted wonderful. I guess I will maybe find out another day. I was in a hurry today, and didnt have time to wait around at the register.
Its busy. Coffee is good. I like how they make both traditional and Starbucks style Macchiato.
The mocha freeze I got was really good! But the desserts were pretty mediocre and did not taste fresh. Would come back for the coffee but not the food.
Compared to the massively busy greyhouse next door, I would come here every time.I came in expecting the usuall midday line at greyhouse (and a thirty minute wait for my latte) but was pleasantly surprised by immediate service and a latte in less than five minutes. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, and their christmas decorations are lovely.Would 100% recommend.Good coffee too
Great atmosphere, good coffee, and reasonable prices. Its perfect for studying or meeting up with friends. Its not usually too crowded, which is nice.
Nice place for sitting down and sipping on a latte. Theyve got WiFi so thats cool too. Coveted study location during finals week 👌👌
Lots of really smart people hang out and study here. The coffee and tea are priced well. The cupcakes are great. Typically has room for conversation to accommodate you and your friends.
I have some of my fondest memories of my time at Purdue here. Great coffee and desserts. Vegan desserts also available. The friendliest baristas and outdoor seating options makes for a great hangout place with friends. Or you can just go there and make a bunch of new ones. Theres something 8n the air!
Good coffee. Great atmosphere for studying. The people in charge also support good causes.
Great service. Great coffee. The barista working 9/7 at around 10:30 was very polite and efficient!
Best coffee shop in the greater Lafayette area. Coffee is exquisite, the vibe is great and the customer service is beyond measure. I would give more stars if I could.
Great little relaxed coffee shop close to Purdues campus. Coffee on the whole is great (but dont get the Turkish coffe!)
Great place, I am happy to report that they fixed that smell problem. Very nice coffee and great choice of pastries and desserts! Now, if only the city of West Lafayette would end the insanity of mandatory masks for everyone. I am not crossing the river as long as that is in place.
Worst coffee and cappuccino I ever had, and its very expensive for what it is; no wonder everyone goes to Greyhouse. They went through all the trouble to redecorate the place, and it does look quite a bit better, so you would think they could make serviceable coffee as well, but no. Too, I noticed the half and half canister was empty, so I opened it, and it stunk as if it hadnt been cleaned since the day before. I handed it to the clerk and tried to make a gesture that it needed to be cleaned, but she just poured more half in half into the canister. The place is, on the whole, pretty gross. There should be something much better for the Purdue community.
The drinks arent bad, and they feature a very nice International crowd. If youre interested in performing for said International crowd though, they are very unprofessional in setting up anything. One employee told me to, Just bring my guitar in and play, while another took my name and number, then never called. The employee that took my name and number refused to even look at a flyer I had in my hands after being told to, Just bring my guitar in and play. This was the first place I ever played in public over 20 years ago. I have several years of live performance experience and was looking forward to playing for an International crowd. Especially after seeing how they positively reacted to an employee performing a single song. Maybe live music isnt their thing, although it used to be.
Always chill. Always friendly staff. Really great place. The big boss even gave me a size larger Americano the day I woke up at 8 and looked like a mattress zombie.
The only thing wrong with Vienna is the music; they used to play only jazz but its more hip-hop lately. The drinks are lovely and the service is good if slightly inconsistent. It is the best coffeehouse in West Lafayette.
Love the real ice coffee ..it has no cream in it ..hear that other shops
A very welcoming and cozy cafe with a wide variety of delicious coffee and tea beverages as well as some of my very favourite lunch options and fresh baked goods.
Eh. Watered-down tea (the employee put a tiny bit of ice in the cup and it quickly melted), messy and average-tasting sandwich, slow service, and no sense of customer service or appreciation whatsoever. I felt like an inconvenience. Good things: vegan desserts and cool music. Wont return.
Great coffee. Friendly baristas. Vegan baked goodies. Cozy, comfortable place.
Loved the beverages here. I used to play chess with friends over a cup of Latte.
Great coffee shop. More relaxed than Gray House.
Highly underrated especially compared to their next-door neighbor competitor Greyhouse. Viennas food is amazing and the drinks are very reasonably priced!
Finally has soy milk. Has vegan desserts, so that makes me happy. Nice atmosphere, but the music is horrible its like of elevator music. The music at the village coffee house two doors away is better.
Wonderful little coffee shop. Nice atmosphere, great place to go escape or study for a few hours.
It was a good place to work at till midnight. Cool staff
Nice, quiet atmosphere. Really good coffee and tea. A great place to study or meet with a friend or a group.
An increbly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything you could want in a local coffee shop. Serving tea, coffee, meals, and a variety of sweets and pastries. Its a popular study and meeting spot, and much quieter and more easygoing than most other places around the area, like Greyhouse. Often they have local performers in the evenings, you can usually find out whats happening via Facebook or fliers in the building. Highly recommended.
Excellent espresso and atmosphere. Their scones are above average most certainly, and only the Wifi can I criticise. However, there are many places on Chauncey where the Wifi is spotty, and so I dont blame Vienna.
This has been my favorite coffee shop since 2005 and excited they finally take credit cards. Great vibes
This is my favorite coffee house in West Lafayette. Warm and friendly staff that greet you immediately and make you feel welcome, good coffees and delicious pastries!
They have the best chai and good white hot chocolate 🙂
Great quiet coffee shop with good food. One of my favorite places to go, especially when the students arent around
They have many types of coffee and latte, which all taste good. Foods (bakery) and desserts are mediocre.
The best cold brew in town. The place is cozy and nice.
Great atmosphere, and even better coffee. I recommend a soy white mocha.
A double espresso from Vienna is 25 cents cheaper than greyhouse and comes with at least twice as much liquid. There are always a lot of smokers in the courtyard but coffee alone Vienna is the best.
Fantastic baked goods and the best spiced Chai Ive ever had.
Love this place. Way less crowded than Greyhouse and has great espresso and chai. The bakery stuff is amazing, but so rich, even the vegan stuff.
The coffee and food was good. But the barista today evening was really rude.
Good coffee and friendly staff. good Wi-Fi too.
The best coffee shop in town. Yes, better than Greyhouse
Got coffee or food here almost every day for more than 6 moths, now ive boycotted the place! The biggest points have already been mentioned: the prices are less than greyhouse, the regulars are more chill than greyhouse, the menu has a lot of great vegetarian and vegan options, the employees are chainsmokers, there is usually only one barista working so usually a long wait to get anything other than a drip coffee, the loyalty program is great. The main issue I have with this place is the new barista who refuses to greet me when I walk in. I was the first one in the shop and waited for him for several minutes without acknowledging me to put out all the cookies and snack bars while I waited for him to ask me what I wanted - a drip coffee. The last time I was in there I waited 5 minutes at the counter for him to finish cleaning stuff by the coffee maker. Then when he greeted me with what do you want... i was like can you make me a breakfast sandwich? he was like can you wait until 12 when i get off? i just said nothing and walked out. Step it up Assam!!!!
Great coffee, good ambience, fun baristas!!!
Their coffee is absolutely amazing!
Much nicer atmosphere generally than Greyhouse but the seating is not as good and I miss the bottomless iced tea. Still, the sandwiches are surprisingly good
Great place for coffee and great conversation. Also great soda.
Great coffee, great vibe and great crowd..!!
A cheaper, less packed alternative to Greyhouse. You can get peanut butter and a bagel plus coffee here for just the price of coffee at GH, so its a no brainer. Love this place
Good coffee, okay prices. You can actually sit and think (study) here. I love the giant couches and the space - it doesnt feel crowded even when full.
The superior West Lafayette coffee shop
Its at least as good as Greyhouse -- and its cheaper, too!
If you want slow service for subpar drinks or food, this is the place for you! For being located in Chauncey Square with tons of competition, including a much better coffee place two doors down (Greyhouse), I dont understand how Vienna is still in business. The baristas that work here move at snail speeds when they acknowledge youre even there. Half the time they just talk to their hipster friends instead of helping customers. And god forbid you come at any time of the day when they sun is visible, because their windows bake customers inside and make it necessary to wear glasses.I wish Greyhouse wasnt so busy on the weekends so I wouldnt have to come to this hellhole.
Excellent coffee Customer Service this time was very polite A++++
Chill place to focus and study, awesome drinks and amazing food!
I feel like the options here are limited.
Great local spot for fellow coffee addicts
This place is so cheap that in the summer they just leave the doors open and dont turn on the ac. there are tons of flies and nats
Best cold brew
The best at Purdue
Good coffee, Great atmosphere
