I really dont know much about make up, so it was very much appreciated when they helped recommend products based on what I needed (which have worked fantastic so far!) but were still in my budget. They were so kind and welcoming! Definitely will be coming back!
I have been seeing Angela Kidder at the Wheaton salon for about 12 years now, and I have never had a single complaint about her. (I had just moved to the area and was leaving a salon where they dyed my hair jet black instead of brown, and when I wanted it corrected they told me to wash it out in the tub with laundry detergent!) So I was pretty gun shy about anyone touching my hair again. When I went to Ulta, I told them I wanted their top stylist. Angela was so patient while I only let her trim my ends for like the first six months. Now my hair has seen it all — colors, undercut, you name it. She is the absolute best at what she does, she’s funny but professional, and I recommend her to everyone I meet. I love her and if she retires at some point I will just shave my head and call it a day. That’s how amazing she is!
I have been shopping at this location for almost 10 years. Had a really good experience with Reina (Rayna?) and Ryan. Came out with some great make up. Even with COVID it was fun shopping.
Awesome displays, staff always smiling and willing to assist you in any way. Suggested a perfume for my wife and wasnt disappointed

I consider myself as someone that knows a lot about make up, but everyone needs some advice sometimes. I loved coming here. The people working are always so attentive and ask if you need some help. If you don’t at first, you might need some later so I really appreciated that. The store is well maintained, they have a lot of variety of product. I don’t believe they carry MAC, but that’s not a deal breaker. Overall, I am impressed with the service here.

This ulta has a lot of inventory. They usually have plenty in stock which I love. There customer service here is not so good. The lady that greeted me by the door was very sweet. She was walking the floor. But the young woman with dark hair was not polite at all. She stared me down and seemed annoyed that I was returning some items. She was not welcoming or polite. When I tried to make conversation she was not interested.
In these days of masquerade, we needed advice for skin treatments to help with the resulting maskne that comes from all day mask use. But where to begin? We knew that Ulta would have answers. We were able to find our way to the skin care section of the store where one of the sales associates could sense we were overwhelmed with the selection of products. She asked us about our needs then took time to explain some good possible treatment options. I appreciated that she took our budget into consideration, too and showed us skin care products to help the problem, but kept to the dollar amount I wanted to spend. It felt like concierge service in a friendly and caring atmosphere. Her advice was spot on and the products are working great!

I had to pay $280 for the worst color and cut of my entire life; when I told the stylist I didn’t like it she told me she could fix it but it would cost another $200, what?! I called customer service and they never even bothered getting back to me. I was literally crying in the salon and no one cared. Awful experience, please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

So yea the negative comments about rude staff is very true and super intimidating for anyone who hasn’t been in there. I walked in needing help finding a face routine and after 5 minutes of walking around aimlessly I flagged someone down to help. She was just “meh” and seemed bored by me. She was kind of helpful but missed a great opportunity to make a sale. I told her I had no experience with face care and she didn’t even tell me about sun protection? I forgot to mention stuff for my pores but, again, she just seemed bored and didn’t care. I would go back if I really had to but I’m sure BlueMercury or Sephora would have the same products and hopefully better customer service.
Terrible experience, I left without buying anything, an older shorter woman with shorter blond hair was so rude to customers in the store then gossiped about them after they left. She attempted to help me but didn’t listen to my needs at all and I must of not appeared to worthy of her help finding my needs, she was too busy telling all the other employees how she made customers leave, too much drama, such a turn off I’ll not ever visit that location again.
Friendly staff, especially the manager I spoke with for a return issue. The place is organized and clean, and the newer promotions displayed in the front part of the store .
Store personnel are friendly n helpful. The store is always neat and clean. They usually have what you want in stock and if not can order online.
Not the worst Ulta Ive been to. Its always a toss up if youre going to get the super friendly and sometimes overly aggressively helpful employees or the rude, unhelpful and uninterested staff who view your existence in the store as inherently burdensome. The overwhelming majority of the time its the latter. Too focused on tasking or with their eyes glazed over to actually help anyone.
Great staff. Had my hair done by Christina and CJ boy did a great job. Christina did color it still looks fanstatic. Skilled ladies in the Wheaton store. I highly recommend.
Ulta is a great place for cosmetics except a high charges price is high in the sky but its effective.

I love the variety of products but sometimes they can be pricey. The staff is always nice and professional. But you will find things you cant get elsewhere.
I hate being pressured to join their rewards program---and they dont give up after one or even two simple requests for your phone number. When you politely decline, the cashier routinely pouts and is completely rude. Ive shopped there a number of times but its always the same and the cashier never even says thank-you. I can just as easily order what I buy on Amazon, so dont plan on subjecting myself to rude personnel anymore. Brick and mortar retailers need to make the in-person experience a whole lot more tolerable if theyre going to survive.
I just went yesterday for the first time at Ulta to purchase a Too Faced palette and some brushes. I was greeted as soon as I came in so instantly I felt comfortable to look around and shop in the store. There was an employee who helped me purchase the it brushes for Ulta (they are great and so soft on my skin!). In the process of purchasing my two items the manager suggested me to opened an Ultamate Rewards (it was so easy and fast). She explained how it worked and as well gave me some samples to try out :) Great experience and great customer service. Would definitely shop here again!
I only shop at Ulta about once a year for gifts, so the loss of my business is no big deal, but I feel compelled to tell you that I left about $250 worth of merchandise on your counter yesterday since your cashier refused to process my sale without me providing my phone number. This is a stupid way to do business, friends.

I appreciated going to the Wheaton ulta cause bolingbrook was sold out plus a item I recieved for my Birthday was not sealed. They exchanged it and damaged it out. Thank goodness they had the stock.
Worst customer service, in store and by district manager. I did contact customer service and the person that called me back was dismissive and condescending. When I called customer service the representative even told me the store and district manager would just ignore the complaint but I was shocked at how blatantly the Ulta management team disregarded the complaint.
I just got a great haircut by Molly at the Salon at Ulta. She really took her time and gave me exactly what I wanted even though I wasnt totally sure at first what I did want. Id definitely recommend her to anyone!
You can find the same products anywhere else, I felt pressured to get a membership card the cashier insisted so much, I said no thank you.Is the first time coming to ulta, and the firs time I dont get a purchase receipt because I dont sign up for their membership. Obviously I dont come back.
This place kind of sucks because they dont have a frustrated husband seating section. So the men have to awkwardly follow their wives around. The worst is when your wife asks you to help her find something and sends you off on your own and youre afraid youre weirding out all the other customers because theyre wondering what this dude is doing looking at make up.

Always have what I need and great customer service
Everyone was very unhelpful. I asked an associate where I could find lip stains and she had no idea what I was talking about. She then paged for someone to help us over the PA, no one even flinched to come help us. I asked another associate for help and she told me she was busy. Finally the Benefit representative was actually willing to help us and showed us kind of what we were looking for. Ended up buying a cheap eye pencil because I couldnt find anything in this store. I would like to think me being bare face had nothing to do with it, but I always find the associates in here to be very cold and short with me. Also there is only ever one cashier up at the front which is maddening after having to spend a half hour milling around this store trying to find anything.
Very upsetting. Everytime i go to get eyeshadow blush or other items they say they are out and to order on line. I like to see what i am ordering. Hate being blindsided that what i thought it may be isnt.
Get all my haircuts here, mostly because I get compliments for lovely ladies there.
Moved to Wheaton about a month ago and I must admit, as a makeup artist it was super convenient to literally have this across the street! Did an online pickup and the woman at the register was extremely rude about me not having my phone on me to scan the barcode, even though I had my ID. Finally went back to the car to grab my phone and the second woman at the register was also rude. She barely looked away from her friend to hand me my bag. Apparently their conversation with one another was more important. Why work there if you seem annoyed that you actually have to work? It literally felt like going through TSA to pick up two items. My fiancé had the same experience when picking up another item for me prior to this visit. Never again. The Oakbrook location is way more friendly and super informative about the products!

Complaint regarding Wheaton location. The Orly Nail Polish Dept. Is a mess and empty. Talked to manager and she didn’t see it to be an issue. Just told me to call when they get a truck. The NYX eyeshadow dept. Is also a complete disaster. The samples are all ripped off or empty. EVERY COLOR is in the wrong spot. No attention to detail on the non premium makeup side. I wear all brands from high to lower end cosmetics. If this store is not going to be detailed when it comes to stocking both sides well that’s extremely unfortunate! Im minutes away from this store and now I have to drive across town! I will shop at Sephora from now on!!!In response to reply.... “Right you are sorry!” Very Sorry!

Not customer focused. Went into get brow wax and the person conducting those was in the back have a heated exchange with someone else. This was all told by another employee. Then I went to check out and there was one person checking out and they were on the phone. I waited 10 minutes for the brow person and gave up and I waiting another several minutes in the check out line. No customer centric selling
The clearance items are marked incorrectly... so the manager decided to have an attitude with me about it ... if something is marked a price and advertised that was they should honor thE price ... I’ll take my money else where .
They love you when you spend a lot of money but give attitude when you return it even if its unopened.
Why is there always a long line every time I shop here? I come at various times throughout the day to avoid the long lines but theres always a long line. There are 2 to 3 cashiers and still...the long line. Today was the deciding factor that I never go back. I went in right when it opened. Went in line to pay and there was no line BUT the system was down so you could only pay cash. I ended up walking out. Im done with this place!!!

This Ulta is bright and clean and convenient to a lot of locations. The associates are friendly without being annoying, and they have lots of brands of make-up, skincare, and hair care. I dont wear any make-up so I cant speak to the quality of what they have, but skincare and hair care have multiple brands from cheaper drugstore stuff to higher end/professional products.I went into the store looking for K-beauty and was disappointed. I heard they are trying to increase the amount of K-beauty they have, but I was not pleased with the selection. It was mostly masks, both sheet and potted, and a limited range of cleansers and moisturizers. They only stock the big brands (TonyMoly and Skinfood were the ones I saw). The items were reasonably priced and had sales going on, but I still left with only one product (intending to buy a whole routine) because the selection was poor.
I came here some time ago to get my brown/redish hair to a blonde color and definitely didnt want it to turn orange. Nadya was my stylist and she explained to me that because of the dark color and how much i have dyed my hair that it might take two bleaching sessions. Nadya did a wonderful job; she got my hair to this BEAUTIFUL light blonde color with only one bleach session. I will definitely keep coming to her for my hair colors and I highly recommend her for your salon sessions.

Possibly the worst Ulta Ive been to. They were out of stock of the most popular color basics in Anastasia brow pencils, IT Cosmetics foundations, Tarte blushes, Stila liquid eye shadow, and ALL of the NYX setting sprays. How can a beauty store be out of stock of so many popular beauty basics? Store was also messy - shelves were in disarray and so many items were in the wrong place. To top it all off, I was approached TWICE by a rather pushy salesperson trying to advise me on how to treat my rosacea (I see my dermatologist for that, thanks). Ill never go back to this store.

Just came from this stupid place i made an appointment for 4:30 pm as i reached there hair stylist told me she is busy have to wait for 15 more mins. Another lady came up and start apologizing and ask me to reschedule my appointment as their hairstylist was the only one in the store. I drove all the way to get my haircut and this is what their customer service is hate this place will never go to ulta ever they dont even have the courtesy to call their clients and inform about change in plans.
