Wonderful museum...lots of educational information about the history of America, presented in a lively and interesting manner. Its a winter Sunday when we visited so the tourist was not so many and we could spend a good quality time both indoor and outside. The staff and volunteers in dressed native costumes were friendly and knew their duties of work very well. Highly recommended to those who are interested in history and heritage. Thank you very much.

I was called to the site by my company. Im a security officer, and it was a very educational day. They have progressed so much over the years. It has been 20 years since Ive last visited Jamestown, and at that time I was a student. It brought back wonderful memories; of the experience I had when I first visited Jamestown. I would advise that all adults and children visit and experience Jamestown Settlement.

Wow! Had never been to Jamestown before and this was a real treat. To preface - this is NOT the site of the original colony but its an excellent recreation amd living history museum. The costumed interprettors were very knowledgeable and the sites were well done. The main facility also contained an outstanding museum and artifacts. Learned a great deal from both the museum and the walkthrough. Kids really enjoyed the trip. Fun and affordable. Easy way to kill a half day.

Eric Ely wad our guide and was very knowledgeable and had great engagement with the kids. I highly recommend all homeschool families take advantage of this if they can. We go to Yorktown later in the week. So excited! The boys especially liked the musket firing demo.

Very nice place to visit, whether your local or visiting. We did the full-on tourist thing and went to see the ships, and the Native village and the reconstructed fort and it was all very amazing. The museum is very nice also, but the exhibits of how the early settlers live were just unbelievable. There are demonstrations of everyday life and even musket and cannon fire.

We travelled there by bike from Williamsburg on the Colonial Parkway. Very scenic and easy 10 mile ride. The museum had very interesting exhibits. Outdoors, the re-creations of Jamestown settlement, the Powhatan Indian Village, and three ships that brought the colonists were realistic. The staff that were in character, were very knowledgeable. Great for kids.

A very interesting place to visit. Historic Jamestown is a recreation of the original Jamestown based on recorded history. It is run by the state and while it has a fantastic museum the live history portion feels a bit neglected. I still recommend it just for the history lesson. Buy the 4 park ticket and visit the real settlement location along with the Revolutionary Museum at Yorktown and the actual Yorktown battlefield. Take sunscreen, bugs pray and plenty of water.

History lessons abound! You get lucky when you come upon interpreters dressed in costume. We were trapped with Sir Yeardley in the Jamestown church during a thunderstorm during the 400th assembly anniversary and it was excellent! This particular interpreter is brought in from Britain 3X a year. Catch him at Christmas! The whole place is pretty amazing and you leave with a new sense of being part of something great, the USA (known as Virginia by the colonists at the time, yes the whole USA was called Vurginia!)

And the museum was interesting enough that it was able to hold their attention for a brief period of time :-) my husband took them out so I can finish walking through the exhibits because they were immensely interesting to me!
