We got our primary bedroom closet done from closets by design. Im very disappointed with the quality, finish and craftsmanship. I was hoping that the price will result in a customized, clean and durable finish but it does not. I would recommend Ikea any day over this. The drawers dont feel stable at all and dont slide smoothly. They dont align with each other either. There are a lot of alignment issues throughout. Some hanger rod are extremely tight while others are very loose and fall off easily. One such rod fell and Im surprised it damaged the surface of the wood. Overall quality seems very cheap and gets damaged easily. There was a lot of dust and some dirt we cannot clean off as well. When I asked the installer about this, he tried just banging everything and said its the best he can do. We had two full days scheduled but the installer had two other jobs lined up on the second day. I felt he rushed the job and exaggerated the poor quality even further. Cannot in good faith recommend this company. This is a case where you do not get what you paid for.

Highly recommended! We have an old home built in 1949 with zero closet/storage space. The designer came in with a creative mindset while being super professional. We added his and her closets in our master bedroom along with drawers plus a full pantry. This completely changed the space and organization of our home.The installers were just as good. A crew of three came in and were clean and meticulous with their process. They had to cut out some baseboards to get the closets flush to the wall. Now it looks like the closets were built in with the home.From start to finish I was really impressed with the whole process. Zero pressure and the price came out to be far lower than I anticipated. I have recommended Closets by Design to friends and would recommend them to all.

I had my walk-in closet done. Jo came and designed my closet with me. She was absolutely amazing! She was so professional and knew what she was doing. The design turned out awesome and I was so pleased how the final product turned out after installation! Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend Jo and Closets by Design.

We had a somewhat mixed experience using this company. Great communication early on in designing and updates towards installation. Things changed during installation and it was clear the company didn’t care. After months waiting for our install date when it arrived an installer no-showed making long days for one and long hours of not having our house.Then our house received a surprising amount of damage from them. Our millwork damaged, ceiling damaged, staircase and walls- all damaged. When I reached out to the company the woman’s response about damage was that the materials are heavy but they try to avoid it. Never have we had a contractor damage other areas of our home and just be told that the materials are heavy.Lastly the finish work is totally sub-par. The closet system is sold as fitting to ceiling and moldings caulked to create a finished look. Within 45 days their too think bead of caulk had already shrunk leaving the project needing work and looking unfinished.Never would we have thought that to customize our closet and laundry we would have damage to our entry, staircase, ceiling, and walls without regard from a company. The closet itself it fine and definitely increased the use of our space. However consider the entire experience when hiring a company as I wouldn’t recommend a company who doesn’t back their errors and damage and leaves a customer cleaning up damages. I’d exercise caution before committing g to a company with such poor customer service. Our home was left needing repairs from the front door, staircase, ceiling, railing, clear to the. Loser wall. After sharing concerns in text and email we’ve had no response. Your money is spent elsewhere with a company who values and standards behind their employees and work.Read reviews, this isn’t an isolated event. And that’s too bad as we share openly our experiences with friends looking to update and customize their homes.

I was recommended Closets by Design from a friend and couldn’t be happier!Our home was lacking storage in our laundry way which is located off our main hallway, on the way to our bathroom. Everyone sees this space when they walk by so it needed to be functional but also disappear when we need it too. We gave the team at Closets by Design our requirements and after a few mock-ups we were on our way. Design, colors and install scheduled etc etc.Install was a breeze and the team was Covid safe of course. We decided to pick out hardware after the cabinets were installed, which gave us time to think about what we really wanted.I can’t believe we waited so long to do this! Very happy with the way things turned out!

Terrible customer service and cheap materials.They left a damaged baseboard and wall and doesn’t even reply to our inquiries.Based on their price I expected a better material quality and service.

The closet turned out ok but the process was plagued with issues. Melissa, the “Designer” displayed no creativity nor did she suggest anything beyond the basic design of the closet. The price bid she presented was a scribbled piece of paper with no itemized prices, so when it later turned out that the measurements of the new closet were smaller and we eliminated many of the “extras”, such as tie racks, Valet rod and shoe shelves the price charged to our card was the same as the original price . Even though we were promised a credit, Taryn, the manager refused to credit our account, saying that we signed a contract. Even the installation had problems and was blamed on us.Be aware when you use this company, they are very eager to charge your card, even before install and communication is terrible. I would not recommend this company!

Materials were as described and and as designed. Bryce was courteous, helpful and professional and completed the installation smoothly.

I have longed for a REAL closet for years. After buying our first house we decided it was time to finally get it done. I was fully prepared for some sticker shock at the first consultation. I was very happily surprised at the affordability and professionalism. Fast forward to the day the closest were done. I work from home and had to make sure to be out of the house during the construction. I made plans to be gone all day but it wasnt even needed! They had everything taken care of and put together so fast! It was all done in about half the time. I went from having no extra space in my closet to having more space than I need. The storage design is brilliant because I even have some empty shelves now! 10/10 would recommend to anyone I know.

For what we paid for these custom cabinets, we were expecting more. We agreed on the design, installers came and changed it up because something didnt fit correctly without saying anything to us. We went to see how the install was going and he said oh by the way, we had to switch a cabinet to the other side. Drawers and jewelry box was dusty. Knicks and scratches on the sides of the drawers. A small brad nail and screw were left on the ground. Im so glad my 5mo yr old pup didnt ingest them. Overall the cabinets a great, but the design change without our knowledge and the messy clean up. Thats the reason for the 3 star.

The customer service rep gave me exact expectations and followed up with me. When the installer came he was courteous, arrived on time, and even finished the closet installation in almost half the time. I have already recommended them to friends and family!
