I found Dr Jerry patient oriented and efficient in his examination. Needing an annual exam a friend recommended Eyes of the World. I was able to pick glasses with all the features I wanted. They went out of their way to accommodate my specific requests and was pleasantly surprised at the cost. Several hundred dollars less than I had anticipated. Thank you Eyes of the World!

Great selection of frames, the Dr. and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Made getting a new prescription easy. Im really happy with the prescription sunglasses. They fine tuned the fit when I picked them up so they stay on but arent too tight.

I had a fairly specific request for once-daily toric contact lenses that wouldnt leave my eyes dry. Dr Jerry and his crew helped me through 5-6 different samples of lenses over weeks (or maybe it was a month!) and I was able to find my ideal lens. I go there yearly for my exam and I have started taking my kids also. We ordered glasses through them for one of my children and that also went smoothly.

I really appreciate Jerry and his staff. They are all very friendly, and Jerry is the best optometrist I have ever had! Not only was the exam thorough, but his prescription finally solved a problem that others had failed to do. I look forward to my next visit!! See you soon!

I had such a wonderful experience at Eyes of the World! Dr. Phillips was professional, efficient, and hilarious! His staff was extremely friendly and super helpful! Their office was very clean and it was obvious they were taking their protocols for COVID-19 prevention, very seriously! They made me feel welcome and, although I felt bad touching too many frames, as that would add to how many they have to sanitize, they encouraged me to try on as many as I needed to, to find the right ones for me! I am happy to say, I have found my new eye doctor in Eugene! I will refer everyone I know to them!

I called several places before calling your office and they would not even consider using my old frame. After inspection Of my glasses by the optician I was told it should Be ok, she also told me of the possibilities that could occur when the frame is at the lab. I went to Eyes of the World with a set of brand new frames with sunglasses lenses that I had purchased from my last optometrist who is out of state, as no one locally carried the brand. I wanted progressive bifocals put in the frames, something my previous optometrist assured me was no problem when I purchased the frames and had them shipped to me. The manufacture’s website also confirmed this.I was met at the front desk with what can best be described as indifference bordering on being a nuisance. After explaining what I wanted, indifference escalated to obstruction as the front desk person repeated questioned whether the frames would accept Rx lenses, something my prior optometrist assured me they would. Multiple attempts to assure her they would went unheard.After popping out a lens and looking at the frame she said they would send them to the lab for an evaluation. She further stated that there was no guarantee on frames not purchased at their store. If they were broken in the process of having Rx lenses put in I was out of luck and would need to apply to the manufacturer under the warranty for reimbursement as they didn’t carry the frames.At this point I simply asked to have the lenses put back it and requested the glasses back and left. I understand that businesses have policies. And given reasonable customer service and even the illusion that I mattered I’m fine with that. However the indifference I felt and resistance and unwillingness to consider anything I was saying combined to create a level of customer service that insures no one in my family will visit this establishment again. Perhaps the owner should consider additional staff training.

I have been going to Eyes of the World since I first moved to Eugene in 2013. Dr. Phillips and his staff are so kind and helpful! All of my exams are run smoothly and I appreciate that they have the machine that scans your eyeballs (clearly I am not well-versed in optometry jargon) so that you don’t need to get your eyes dilated. They never push me to order anything I don’t need, which I appreciate. The most amazing thing they’ve done for me recently is hand-deliver my contacts to my house because I wasn’t going to be around to pick up my order for a few days! So thoughtful. They also have a great frame selection and have knowledgeable staff to help you pick the best pair! Thank you Eyes of the World!

Front staff was excellent. Exam was not. I told the doctor that I had trouble with the test that uses a puff of air. He tried twice and gave up. I have never had a doctor do that before. They always tried until they were able to do it. The main reason for going to an exam is health and I felt the exam was poorly done in that respect. I will not return.

One of the few places in Eugene that accepted my vision insurance. Happy to have given them a try. On time, thorough exam. Lots of great frames to choose from. This morning I went for an exam at another location because thats where Ive been going for 25 years. While there I asked their spectacle shop to upgrade my Rx onto the frames I bought onsite years ago. They said it would be a risky, farmed out, weeklong project and wouldnt consider it. Same afternoon I took my old frames and new Rx to EOFW who replaced my lenses in ten minutes while I went shopping at the market next door. Came back to improved arms on the old frames, plus a gourmet gooey chocolate ball. Moreover they have giant photos of people on the wall that I trust, like Garcia and Lennon. Great service, walking distance to my house. Glad I went there.

Had a great experience at Eyes of the World. Best exam in 40 years of wearing glasses. Friendly staff who helped my get the most out of my insurance benefit. Will be back next time.

I have been wearing glasses for over 45 years. The glasses that I got from them were by far one of the best ever. The lenses are great. I am not a easy case and have had bad prescriptions before but they got it right the first time. The frames I got are light and flexible and they had lots to chose from.

I had to cancel two appointments for my kids because work wouldnt give me the time off. I gave plenty of notice both times. However, the second time when I tried to reschedule I was denied. They said you can only cancel twice, even with notice. I chose this eye doctor because I am a Deadhead... At least they could have warned me of the policy in advance! I am definitely not GREATFUL for this Eye Dr.!

We have been coming here for the last 4 years. The staff is friendly & helpful. Dr Jerry is mindful of any health issues that will affect the eyes. They have a great selection of frames at prices less than other places in town. They replaced the lenses in one pair at no charge because I had an anti-scratch coating. We use insurance & never have been pressured into purchasing anything!

Great customer service and frame selection. The eye exam was, by far, the most thorough I have ever experienced. The place feels more like a cozy coffee house than an office. Very comfortable and friendly environment.

I brought my 11-year-old daughter to Eyes of the World recently and had an excellent experience. Our appointment started exactly on time (which I appreciated since I had to take her out of school), the doctor communicated well, the choice of glasses was excellent, and they had them ready for her the same day! Also, when they called the day before to confirm her appointment, they told me what to expect in terms of time and copays (all of which was accurate). I cant recommend them enough and plan on scheduling an appointment for myself in the near future.

This is my absolute favorite office; Im sad I only get to see them once a year! All of the staff members are excellent. Cherish, Jeremy, and Amber are helpful, understanding, and genuinely kind. Dr. Phillips is professionally silly, and I really value his expertise and humor. Dr. Phillips also has an eye for picking out frames you may not consider at first. If youre lucky enough to have his help, definitely give those frames a shot!

Excellent service, kind staff, and they go beyond the call of duty in helping customers. My wife broke her frames one week out of warranty, and they honored the warranty anyway. Wow. I am gobsmacked.

I cannot say enough good about the service here. They really go above and beyond to take care of their customers well. I honestly dont think I will ever go anywhere else for my sunglasses. Fantastic communication, friendly staff, good prices, and local! I remember I was hesitant to walk in the first time because of the name, but I am glad that I did. Just go visit them and see what Im talking about.Regarding the review below saying they only care if you are spending hundreds on frames, thats absolutely not true.Ive had multiple pairs of glasses purchased from here and they have been incredibly helpful with figuring out fsa and insurance payments as well as recommending less expensive options, and even calling vendors to see if they can get a better price. Ive never had so much help figuring out the financial piece of my glasses.

Dr. Jerry Phillips is excellent at what he does. Hes always kind when I come in and very helpful with everything when I go in. Im prone to eye inflammations for whatever reason and Im in front of a computer a lot. They always see me right away whenever I call (which is usually after a day or two of mulling it over hoping the problem will go away), and have always been so sympathetic and helpful. Cant recommend this place enough!

I feel a little guilty that Ive waited so long to write a review because I had such a good experience here. Im a UO student, and after noticing I had trouble reading slides that the people next to me didnt, I came to eyes of the world for my first eye exam. Dr. Phillips was so thorough and easy to talk to, and clear about what my insurance would cover.I was especially impressed with Jeremy, though! This is my first pair of glasses and Ive honestly never even worn sunglasses before because Ive never been able to find a pair I like. Im so picky! I mustve spent almost 2 hours trying on almost every pair in the store, I felt so bad being such a pain of a customor but Jeremy was EXTREMELY patient with me, I cant believe he spent so much time with me helping me find the perfect pair! He even picked out pairs for my boyfriend to try on to keep him entertained.EXCELLENT customer service, and Im so happy with my new glasses! I get so many compliments and my life is so much better now that I can see. I had no idea my vision was getting so poor. As a bonus, I get dramatically fewer migraines now.Overall, very happy! If youre not going to spend hundreds of dollars on frames then they will treat you like scum. They have no respect for people looking to get the frames & lenses covered by their insurance. Selling frames to college students is their goal and as a college student wanting glasses & exams covered by insurance, they never wanted to respect me enough to make my experiences at least decent. They have a lot of sales intended to encourage kids to spend more money. Money is clearly more important than customer service.Went here when I moved to town because they had such high reviews, but ending up having a terrible experience time & time again, for years. When I had to have emergency surgery and reschedule an appointment they left me a very rude voicemail saying Please dont bother coming back here ever again. So I went in to address the voicemail after I had recovered, and was told it was a mistake, but that I shouldnt ever reschedule in the future. To say they were not understanding about my medical circumstances would be an understatement.They were consistently inappropriate with their attitude towards me whenever I came in. When I brought my fiance in with me to pick up frames, he also commented that they were extremely nasty towards me, something I had been trying to convince myself wasnt actually happening for months. But it was blatant rudeness, every single time. It took me a long while to figure out why they treated me like garbage but once I put it together, I stopped going here and have been so much happier.They have a rather limited selection and even more limited number of frames covered by insurance. Everytime I needed new glasses they would ask me to look around at the other frames but when I politely declined, asking for glasses covered by my insurance, they would audibly sigh very loudly before pulling out the eligible glasses. The interaction would end there, they wouldnt check in on how I was doing, and if I had questions or concerns they would be dismissive and find things to do around the store instead of help me. Needless to say I never ended up getting glasses that fit comfortably because they didnt view me as a customer worth helping. When frames came in that needed adjustments they would tell me to figure it out later when I got home.People using insurance shouldnt be treated as lesser people...Ive been wearing glasses since I can remember and the staff at Eyes of the World have given me, by far, the worst customer service experiences for vision services Ive ever had in my entire life.

Called to make an appointment and the receptionist on the phone was extremely rude and abrasive with me. If this is how they treat customers on the phone, I dont want to see how they treat people in person.

I initially liked eyes of the world for contact prescriptions but will no longer go here due to the ramifications of a misinterpreted test result. I have a rare retinal disease and the doctor wanted to use some of his new equipment to evaluate it. He misinterpreted the results and took away my drivers license (via the DMV). There was no offer of referral or sympathy for this devastating news. Two years and several thousand dollars later, I found a great specialist that has retested my vision and restored my drivers license. Unfortunately, the DMV now requires annual testing which means I have a yearly expensive reminder of this mistake. This has not only been a huge financial undertaking but also an emotional drain. Do not go here for anything beyond the basics.

Friendly staff, Dr. Phillips was incredibly precise, left no stone un-turned when it came to my exam, he took the time to make sure that my prescription would be PERFECT. They took my PeaceHealth insurance which paid for 75% of the exam, contacts, and glasses total!
