Very clean, customer service is great and they have fresh cupcakes in the back if you want one that has not been sitting out. I asked for a fresh cupcake (lemon drop is my favorite) and the lady went straight to the back and got one for me, she even added a little bit more lemon to the middle... now that is what I call GREAT customer service. I visited for the first time and I got the 4 pack pawcakes for my dogs and they loved them it was great to see them there and I ordered just a vanilla cupcake with cream cheese icing everything is made in store and the staff was excellent I will be coming back soon!

Delicious cupcakes and cookie dough. The chocolate cupcake with fudge icing was so rich and the red velvet was perfect! The cookie dough bar is so unique. Also, the employee was really friendly and helpful.

I love this place. The cupcakes are always fresh. Sometimes they switch up flavors seasonly like they currently have a pumpkin cupcake. I usually stick with vanilla cupcake chocolate frosting but have tried red velvet, cookies and cream. You wont be disappointed with what you get. There is seating available inside.

Way too sweet! They make my brain hurt. If youre down to feel what a real sugar high is like, then please dont let me stop you. They need to take it easy with the sugar. I wanna see at least another decade of life.Also, they do do customs cake orders for pretty cheap. Got my Dad a cannoli cake for a birthday... it was even too sweet for him and family. They wouldve preferred I made it myself from scratch.Honestly for real guys... take it easy on the sugar. I swear you put 1 whole cup in one cupcake. Classic Koolaid syndrome.

The place was clean and the service was good. I have to say that the cupcakes were a little disappointing. They were fresh and moist. However, if you advertise a lemon or peach cupcake then the that taste is expected. Neither had the fruit flavor. The dollop of fruit jam on top of each frosted cupcake was the only place where the fruit flavor came through. For the price expected more. In Washington DC and in Northern Virginia great cupcake bakery experience from Sweetz bakery and Georgetown Cupcakes, I believe Smallcakes can be to that caliber if they make a little adjustment to those particular flavors. Overall good experience and edible cupcakes.

Bravo!!! My family and I purchased several assorted cupcakes late in the afternoon. The cupcakes were fresh, fluffy, and above all delicious! Cupcakes are made daily too. The carrot cupcake was my ultimate favorite. Well done!

I went into the store two hours before it closed and the cupcake shelves were practically empty. I asked if they had and Red Velvet in the back and it just so happened that they did. While I was waiting for the employee to bring the cupcake up from, a couple had walked in and walked out because there was so little to choose from. Im sure if they keep the shelves stocked, they would have more business. If I wouldnt have asked if they had any in the back, I would have just left too. But anyway, The Red Velvet cupcake was amazing and Id love to come by when they have everything fully stocked and pick another flavor cupcake.

The website shows While we offer gourmet cupcakes without nuts and/or gluten... blah blah blah, we still use nuts in this facility. SO I waited until 10am to reach someone at their partially working phone tree, and Beth answered and told me that they dont do anything Gluten free... So the website is wrong and they wasted a lot of my time.

Cakes are always good...4$ per is kinda high and they were out of many options...otherwise 5 stars.

The cupcakes were not at all appealing. Putting icing on a cupcake and fruity pebbles on top is not creative! Save your money and go to Sprinkles cupcakes in Hyde Park or Disney Springs if u want awesome gourmet cupcakes.

I had a similar experience to the other reviewer who had poor service. I visited the shop on a busy Saturday afternoon in early January and two teenagers were working the counter. I walked up to the display and a male worker stood at the counter and just stared at me. There was no Welcome or Can I help you?. The girl ended up taking my order. She was slightly nicer but I felt like they just wanted me to hurry up and leave. I got the salted caramel cupcake. The icing had a weird gummy like texture with a slight caramel aftertaste and there was way too much salt on top. The cake crumbled apart easily and was really messy. Not worth the money or the calories.

We tried several flavors and all of them were delicious. Great place for dessert or a quick snack.

We were excited about this place but all the flavors are very cliche. The cupcakes are overly sweet and honestly, for $4 per cupcake, its not really worth it. Nothing that a regular bakery couldnt do at a tenth of the price. Our stomachs were also pretty unhappy afterwards (just one cupcake each). Also, most minimalistic service ever... Two teenagers who couldnt care less and disappeared the moment we paid. Save your money.

Went in after lunch on a Thursday afternoon (@ approx 1:30 PM Jan 15, 2015 to be exact) and the shop was completely empty. An apathetic teenager (or in her ealry twenties) glanced up at me and my friends and proceeded to walk to the swinging door that separates what I am assuming is the kitchen and the display area and she inserts herself in between it with her back facing us to proceed to carry on gossiping with a co-worker in the back. I figured she must have been needing to say something to her coworker but would acknowledge us and help us shortly. Well, I was wrong. She carried on her conversation as if we werent even there. We looked and the selections and had made our choice and looked at her but she still made no effort to come help us. In a completely empty shop!!! I got irritated by this very poor customer service and slowly walked towards the door to leave to see if she would even bother to say can I help you? but she never did. She turned her head as we exited to see us go, I even looked her straight in the face and she still couldnt be bothered to even acknowledge us and then she just turned back to continue carrying on her conversation she couldnt be bothered to leave. I wish I could review the cupcakes but the complete lack of service made that impossible. She must have not been in the mood to work that day so she didnt. Having employees like that will not help your business at all. The shop was empty, the cupcakes are nearly $4.00 a piece and then thats the service given? I wouldnt be surprised with the high rents in that shopping center like they are and service from employees like that if Smallcakes is non-existent by next year.

My husband and I ordered about one hundred medium sized cupcakes of varying flavors for our guests and one larger cupcake for ourselves for our wedding in April this year. They were a hit! Especially, the cannoli cupcakes! If we had only known, we would have bought more cannoli cupcakes over some of our other flavors because they were gone in an instant and our friends and family still say those cupcakes were one of the most memorable things about our wedding. Also, our larger and custom created cupcake was wonderful and was definitely worth having that night.We just want to thank the employees at Smallcakes in Lakeland for their hard work and effort towards each cupcake they provided us with that night, so thank you very much!Anyone looking to cater a large event or a wedding, definitely consider Smallcakes for your special day! The cupcakes are delicious and are well priced.
