Fast food extremely slow if I wanted McDonald’s quality I would go through a drive-through I was looking for two eggs with toast you cannot get that here

I hate to give local businesses a low rating but for The Roost, my hands are tied.I love the environment, its very much a Northampton hipster decor theme but when it comes to the food i think you can find a much better AND cheaper place just down the street.I ordered a chai because it is my favorite drink in the whole variety of drinks. This chai i got was small, luke warm and tasted like watered down green tea, the foam on top was unnecessary and didnt have any flavor.Although their Itty Bitty Sandwich SLAPS, all the other sandwiches are basically tomatoes and lettuce between half- warmed up bread.The staff is very nice and considerate with their plating, although i cannot enjoy the food due to the recipe behind it.I realize it may just be my taste buds that dont enjoy the food but as a cafe in town i do hope it stays open.Best luck to you and your staff!

I used to love this place. The food and drinks are still amazing, but the service has gotten sooooo slow. Took me nearly 30 minutes of waiting for an iced coffee and a premade piece of cake to go. It wasnt even that busy either.

Good healthy sandwiches and salad choices. Vibe is friendly there are board games and puzzles...an atmosphere that invites loitering! There is everything to drink from milk shakes to cocktails. Desserts look great. Coffee is good and they also sell bags of branded whole bean.

This was my favorite cafe when I was in college. I used to love sitting in the window with a sangria, a slice of cake, and an essay. Went back a few weeks ago and though I miss the ambiance inside, the quality of the food hasnt changed. Great service even for takeout and excellent baked goods.

I stopped here on the way to Vermont. The staff is very friendly. The food is good. I just stopped for breakfast, so I didnt get to try everything they have to offer, but I would definitely return when Im in the area.

I had an iced peach green tea, and it was very good! Looks like a cool place inside. I wish I went before Covid to get the full effect.

The Roost hosts a variety of food options and great local beers. Located off the main road, I highly recommend coming by here to enjoy the nice coffee and beer selection.WiFi is available during the week, however on the weekends the WiFi is turned off, for good reason!

I stopped here for breakfast and enjoyed my waffle with REAL maple syrup! I got a raspberry scone for the road and it was delicious too. Their waffles are gluten free.

I stopped in for a snack before an outing/ errands and was so pleased at all the tasty options and that they had a hibiscus tea! I love the atmosphere and definitely need to hang out here more.

Really nice place! Good food, drinks, and atmosphere. The only downside for me was that they turn off the wifi on weekends and the lack of outlets to charge my dying laptop. Wish I had been able to stay and work a bit longer.

I’ve gone here twice and will be a continued supporter once I move to the area! They have quite a few gluten free options including waffles and ice cream sandwiches! Nice atmosphere whether you’re there doing some computer work or meeting up with a friend.

This place has fun decor and great vibes. I just got a latte and the itty bitty breakfast sandwich which was actually a normal sized sandwich. Both were really good and would love to go back to try the beers and cocktails they serve as its a nice alternative to a typical bar scene. Healthy food, vegetarian options and desserts can all be found here.

Their espresso has this nice warm taste, I can only describe as the flavor of the color of warm brick or red earth. No, it didnt taste like dirt or brick, but the flavor reminds me of that color.The sandwiches were exactly the right size to be enough without being too much, and the price was exactly right for the level of quality.

Stopped in to get out of the rain and ended up purchasing an iced cold brew coffee. Wow was this good! I will be back to try some of the other beverages they have to offer!Better coffee for same price as DD works for me!

Enjoyed a beef sandwich on whole grain toast here for lunch with coffee in a travel mug. Coffee was a quite reasonable price for a 16 oz refill. Sandwich was a bit modest for its price. Later on the Strawberry lemon ginger bar was a well made piece of goodness.

CAUTION: “Restaurant” without basic seasonings.Tried to order an egg sandwich with salt and pepper because it was super bland last time I got it from this place, and now I know why!! She said they had no salt and pepper to give me to season it myself, and they had none in the kitchen to season it before bringing it out. Now I don’t know about you, but a “restaurant” without salt and pepper is unacceptable to me.

The Roost is a local and tourist favorite. The food is excellent. There is a wonderful selection of pastries and other fun confections. The coffee is top notch. There are lovely up cycled tables and seating. There are fun decorations and board games to play with. My only constructive criticism is price vs. amount for the value is slightly unbalanced. Maybe offer coupons or sales once and a while to show loyal locals your appreciation?

Freshest salads Ive ever eaten! I think Ive tried just about everything here. Never had something below top-quality! Service is friendly. Perfect place for a coffee date, studying with a group or solo, or just reading and enjoying your lunch. Walkable from town. Not a lot of power outlets, so make sure your electronics are adequately charged!

Arugula salad with fruit and tofu is spectacular. Also, fruit and granola is great. They dont have outlets to plug in your laptop. Not ideal place to spend all day working. Go to dobra up the street for that.

Amazing customer service, fantastic location, and great selection of baked goods and coffee. I love their fruit tarts and maple lattes! A good place to be at if youd like to read a book, study, work or meet up with friends. One thing to note though is that they do not have any outlet and no wifi during the weekends.

Small, clean, rustic place. It has a very relaxing vibe to it, they have a ton of healthy options, and some comfort food, too. They are sort of on the slower side, but its because I think i always go during rush hour. The food is sorta pricey for a college student but totally worth it. All the food is such good quality. I highly recommend their Grilled Cheese sandwich, their salad dressing are super yummy too. Its the perfect place to just sit and relax, or even do some work.

I went in a Sunday evening 45 minutes before they closed so it probably wasnt the best representation of the usual service and usual vibe of the place but at that time it wasnt the greatest service or vibe. The coffee we got was good, although they already had packed up there milks and creams and some options werent available. Id definitely give it another try at a different time.

This place does not have [public] outlets or wifi, but they have great food, so I can’t be mad about it! I came here to study, and I’m sure it’d be a great place to do that if you don’t need internet access or anything. That’s the only reason for the 4/5 stars. I haven’t had a good waffle in a while, and they didn’t disappoint!

The Roost is a restaurant that somehow magically knows what I want. If someone wanted to, they could have a tasty meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, not to mention drinks and dessert. They do so many things well, its almost uncanny. Most places that try that either fail or are mediocre. Speaking of dessert, the first thing you see upon entering is the amazing dessert case. If that doesnt get you, soon you see the comprehensive coffee menu. And a beer menu, including many regional beers. Oh, and wine! And smoothies! And the fun food menu! Its just unbelievable!Although the food is very tasty, its reasonably priced. They have gluten-free items, vegetarian and vegan food, and offerings that will work with many types of diets.The decor is fun and retro funky, making good use of some antiques. The staff is unfailingly friendly, helpful, diverse, and polite. We joke around with them all the time.They also have occasional events, such as movies or drink-and-draw.We were fortunate one day to get to talk with one of the owners, and she was delightful. Seeing her in action, its no wonder its a great place.

Absolute disappointment. This place is located in a college town yet offers no Wifi & plug outlets sealed off from the patrons. Not to mention the servings all run on a small scale. Size of a buck fifty rest area coffee. Just buy our products at a high price and get out. Go elsewhere.

Good food, vegan and gluten free options (clearly labelled), and a good atmosphere. Coffee is good and they have a cool menu section where you can put together a charcuterie/vesper board with the items you want. Staff is friendly enough, sometimes a bit standoffish but I dont hold it against them. Review is four stars as there are 0 outlets in this place to be able to charge your laptop. My laptop battery is shot and only lasts for an hour and a half, so its kind of a waste to come and buy a coffee to do work if I cant stay for that long. The clear intention is to stop people from camping all day but it seems a bit ridiculous to me.

The good:Excellent baked goods. Their enormous eclairs are some of the best Ive ever had.The bad:The Roost wants to encourage high customer turnover, so they provide no power outlets to charge your laptops or phones. I understand why they do it, but it means that I cant use the Roost the way I use other coffee shops, which is a nice place to enjoy food and atmosphere and do a little bit of writing.I mention this here because if youre looking for a coffee shop to spend the afternoon in, you probably wouldnt mind knowing about the lack of outlets in advance.

Great place to sit and do some work, excellent baked goods. Their breakfast sandwiches always feel like they should be better, but theres just something missing. With that being said, Id still recommend enjoying what The Roost has to offer.

When I ordered a local beer on tap that kicked before a full pour they were kind enough to offer me a full pint of whatever other local brew I wanted. They offer a low-key but diverse menue. The folks there are nice and welcoming.

The quiche, its amazing. Im not gluten-free or vegan, and the quiche at The Roost is regularly both those things, and yet I marvel every time at how incredible it is. And not incredible for something thats gluten-free and vegan, just incredible tasting, fresh, and always satisfies whatever that craving is that demands quiche. Everything I order here is worth the wait. Smoothies - wonderful, salads - fantastic, selection of beers, wines, ciders and meads - perfect. Always the freshest ingredients and always really wonderful pairings (the cilantro salad dressing is worth its weight in gold). What can I say, I love The Roost.

Northampton is full of nice places to sit for a good while and chat or read. Roost is one of my favorites. Prices are reasonable, food is good, the atmosphere is chill. Keep your receipt for the bathroom code!

I love The Roost! Stays open late. It used to be the closest coffee shop but after I moved my office its a bit of a walk. The place is filled with plants, lots of big windows, and reclaimed wood community table. Seating can be tricky at peak times but for good reason: the coffee is strong, great salads, and nice selection of sweets. Vegan friendly, but not overly creative with their selection. Also, takeaway can be slow, so call ahead.

One of my favorite places to go when Im in the area. Best coffee. Best egg sandwiches. Best waffles.. Desserts to die for.

Great food, awesome smells (if you like to smell ciabbatta baking and pastries being home-crafted). Its pretty much always busy but there is always a chair or two available to sit and the rotation is quick. The cappuccinos here are so delicious.

This. is. the. study. spot. At least for me. This place can get a little cramped but it has a cozy feel to it. The food is great, and when you are done studying you can grab yourself something off their drink list. Or while youre studying if that floats your boat I guess.

I come here for lunch all the time, and their food rarely disappoints. New variety of quiche and spunky side dishes every day. Baristas make excellent coffee, and theyve got wine and local craft beer. And they make dessert! Great atmosphere, quick service, and you can work from one of their bar tables as long as you make a purchase.

Ive been going to this place for years. Its got a wipe selection of coffee, teas, beers/wine and even some good eats (patties, soups, sandwiches, salads). Very vegetarian, gluten free friendly. Meat selection is small.

Everything here is a dream thats real. I love their draft selections and food is really nice and local and organic. Service is great! You can go for a study session there. Just a perfect sport really.

The food and coffee are great. I mostly use cafes for working. Its probably a good place for short work meetings between two or three people, but its not a place to buy coffee and study all day. If you plan to work for more than a couple hours you should probably find another cafe, even if youre buying a lot. They dont have outlets, and I think thats on purpose. They also turn off the internet at like 8pm (its possible thats just one day of the week).

Sandwiches and pastries are absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and something to suit everyones tastes.

All hours of the day this place is a great place to recharge and catch up with your studies and your friends. Its got a typical cafe feel during the day, and at night its like sophisticated indoor elementary recess with alcohol with bored games, cards, and paper to draw on.

The reason why am subtracting two stars and his reviews that they cut off the Wi-Fi towards closing time. I understand that this place wants to just turn and burn a lot of its patrons, but not having an easy way to access the Internet nor have any ability to charge my devices makes it less likely for me to patronize this business ever again

First of all, there are such things as dehumidifiers. I don’t know what the deal with the steamed up windows. It’s like a jungle inside. Food is bad, just bad. Baked goods are very good but so are most places in noho. The one thing that I do love is the stout milkshake.
