This place is such a gem. Custard is amazing, better than soft serve ice cream any day. It doesn’t melt fast like ice cream. There is no room to sit inside here just grab your cone to eat outside. Right off the blue line it’s worth making a journey here.

They added a delicious Pineapple Dole whip that is dairy and gluten free, a vegan product. I’m a huge fan

Ive been going to this family owned place for over 20yrs. The owner I believe her name Jackie is super sweet. I always ice cream is my favorite food group and this place always makes me happy. The best shakes and freeze is. Plus they have this ice cream slushee mix thing that is addictive!!! The prices? So cheap! This is why I love places like this. Taxes are already included to make it easy. Most things are under 6 bucks. They are CASH ONLY so bring your bills! Support your local businesses!!!

So this was my first time going there and I enjoyed it. My girl raves about this place and I can see why. They are not your run of the mill ice cream shoppe. I should say custard and yogurt shoppe. They keep it short and sweet, heh 🤓, easy to order and their product is delicious. I like that theyre family owned. Friendly as well. Im going back before the summer ends. Smoothest frozen custard Ive ever had. I dont even see the point in getting other ice cream from there, because they do custard so well it just seems like Im doing myself a disservice when I get anything else. Vanilla, chocolate, or swirl, doesnt matter, its always velvety smooth and perfectly balanced. Expect a line.

Lucky to catch Hole In the Wall soft opening! Stopped in for their handmade ice cream sandwiches. White chunk chocolate and macadamia and Chocolate chip cookies with vanilla soft serve hits the spot. As always, Cash only, quick and friendly service.

If you dont know it yet, this is the place to go to satisfy your cool sweet-tooth cravings. The lines are sometimes long, but they move quicky and then you get IT! Satisfaction! Over time, try their various offerings to see how many ways you can be satisfied. Enjoy!

This place has the best frozen custard in Oak Park. I highly recommend this spot. Theres easy street parking or easily accessible from the blue line stop and there are a couple benches on the side walk. Theres only room for a couple people to order inside, so the line is all outside. Truly a hole in the wall.

This place is a summertime favorite. They offer the best unique flavors at reasonable prices. The kids enjoy going here. Their banana split is amazing. Its rather small on the inside so only room for a couple customers at a time. There is usually a line but definitely worth the wait. This place reminds you of ice cream shops from childhood and brings back memories from the past. My favorite is the cherry dip. This place is definitely a neighborhood gem sure to meet your expectations!

Waited a bit in line but the brownie bottom was awesome! Maybe they can place a menu poster outside so people waiting in line can select their order prior to reaching the order booth. This should help move the line a little faster.

My family and I really enjoy Hole In the Wall. We look forward to the summer after dinner going out for dessert, that is reasonable and delicious!

Kickin it at the Hole in the Wall since the 70s! My favorite is still the chocolate custard dipped in butterscotch... although homemade ice cream sandwiches are delicious! The server told me that his grandma makes the peanut butter cookies! How could I resist? The bomb!

Old school shoppe thats a great value for ice cream. This place is a definite throwback. The price is right for a good selection of ice cream, custard and milkshakes.Two things that you want to know: this place is just a counter, no chair or benches so dont expect a fine dining experience and its cash only so make sure to run by your local bank beforehand. Other than that, enjoy!

After having had this on my wishlist for so long I have finally made it out to this place. Their custard was quite good. I got mine dipped in butterscotch, and they had quite a few options on their menu, despite only having a few flavors of actual custard. If you want something a little bit healthier you can get a chocolate covered banana, but I go for their classic custard in vanilla.

My first going was a pleasant and the young ladies were nice. i wont know how the ice cream taste your after dinner. although the size portion cups are left to be desired.

A great local ice cream shop with a nice variety of frozen concoctions for any age. Malts, custard, yogurt and old school things like ice cream sandwiches and pops. I go for the freeze ins and malts and an occasional dog or burger if they arent too busy. This is more of a place to go if you are passing by or local to the area. Staff is always friendly and service is quick but there is no place on site to sit or enjoy your item, you have to sit on the Bus stop bench or eat as you walk.

This place is a true rarity these days. Cash only, everyone lines up outside, then steps into a little atrium of sorts to order one group at a time. Excellent selections of custard, ice cream, sundaes, splits and dipped cones with chocolate, peanut butter, cherry and others. Wow!

Have not eaten there a lot, but the twist ice cream they used tasted fake. I would love to go back because their local, but they need to use real ice cream not that Ultra High Temp (UHT) fake ice cream stuff that has a long shelf life.If you want real, AMAZING, twist ice cream go to Lucky Dog on Harlem.

No CHOCOLATE frozen yogurt for the entire summer! Inexcusable and theyre utterly rude about it. Supposedly they have a broken machine that they wont replace. A place that does this volume of business has no business operating without functioning equipment. They apparently think theyll sell more Strawberry Frappe than Chocolate! Good luck. A joke.

I asked for a small vanilla cone with sprinkles on it, but they said they couldnt do it. They said it was against the health code. They were able to put sprinkles on a childs size cone, which is only about half the size of a small cone. Not sure I believed their reasoning.
