Petite grocery store that has a fair variety of essential groceries, with a produce section, deli, small refrigerator area and same for frozen section. This store is in the middle of a longer drive to either common grocery stores. The employees are always kind and helpful, I call before hand to see if they carry something I’m looking for (that I haven’t already bought there) before I make the drive and they always help me.

Since it basically the only supermarket in town and I dont drive so I have no choice to shop here. I find it expensive especially when your on a budget. Although I love the meat department & they have monthly freezer buys. Everyone who works there are very nice & helpful.

The pre marinated steak tips are Amazing but pricey

Great spot right in downtown Pittsfield to pick up some essentials without traveling too far. Very nice meat section. Lots to choose from.

Wonderful! We are here from FL. for the summer and noticed the shelves were stocked well and the new produce area. My friend asked if there were new owners and she was right. We will shop again.

Since the change of ownership, this place has made a complete 180° turn around. Never has Danis been so well stocked, nor has it been this clean and vibrant. The new owners first move was to give all employees a raise. The new folks are hardworking, caring people who are going the extra mile- and not to line their pockets, but to provide a genuine service to this community.

With the new owners things seemed to go down hill for a while but the last few times Ive been there things seem to be getting better

Very small town feel, nice wide aisles. Two check out lanes, friendly cashiers at both of them. I am not from this town but I noticed that everybody else in the store seem to know everybody else, lol.

This store is overpriced. Your better off going to Concord to get a good deal. They know they can do it because there are no other grocery stores in the area. Almost like a monopoly.

Only gorcery store in town . Not impressed. Prices high and limited products. Plus workers didnt seem to enjoy their job. Not a very happy friendly work place. Plus didnt require masks.

Came to this store looking for meat for to cook on the grill..we are camping 20 mins away from here. They had a good selection of meat and marinated meats. Definitely a good choice if your out camping and need a few items..also if you like deli whole pickles they have really good ones.

The market is ok (has most needed items), but they do not require covid masks. For people at risk, this is really disturbing to go into their store. Seemed like the customers didnt care about others ...and the employees didnt either.

Had everything I needed

Corner market prices, old time town store meat smells. For a quick trip to pick up a few things, this is not a bad place. Obviously not as inexpensive as a grocery store, but much better prices than a convince store or the other options in town. The selection in the meat department is fair/good, and the quality is great. The worst part for me is I can smell the meat/deli department every time I walk in the front door. As long as you keep small local grocer in mind when you go here, this place is a very nice store.

This place has a little bit of many things, but prices are high and the vegetables and fruits are not very fresh. The meat counter excellent and everyone is very helpful.

Great meats but very pricey, if u look for there weekly deals its good but very expensive, sad cause its a small economically deprived area, till to upgrade too

This is a fantastic small town supermarket. But a small town supermarket is not for everyone.They dont have a staff of people constantly tending the produce section. They dont stock 900 different kinds of Cereal and 35 different kinds of Ketchup. You are not going to find a Vegan, or Gluten free section.They are well known for their high quality Deli and Meats. If the rest of the store is a little Mom and Pop, the Deli more than makes up for it. It us VERY Mom and Pop, just like you want a Deli to be. Fast and friendly local service, top quality meats, regular monthly sale packs to preorder and choose from. And MOST importantly for me, they know what they are talking about. And are more than willing to share cooking and preperation tips.So the bad part is: It isnt a big box store.The good part is: It isnt a big box store.

Support your local grocer. They do a great job of providing a decent selection and keeping things fresh. The prices are higher than at the big chain stores because they cant buy in the same quantity but they always manage to have some good sales going on. Where they excel is at the deli counter.

Small town supermarket, still very old school, entering prices manually on the cash register, theyre good at it though so dont expect major delays. Has a really good meat/deli department.

My favorite stop whenever I pass through Pittsfield. It has everything you need and then some- dont let its size fool you. It is a very nice old style family owned non-chain 1960s size super market. They carry Shur-Value brand as well as regular name brands.

I only shop here when Im absolutely desperate. The prices are just way too high, so unless I need to get more than one or two things its worth the gas to drive to Alton or Concord to go to a chain supermarket where the prices are lower.

An old fashioned great little grocery store. When you need to pick up something for supper you can probably get it here! A large variety of produce, a dairy section, and ready to go deli salads. There is a good selection of fresh meats as well as marinated meats in the meat case, and even a butcher behind the counter!If you are traveling anywhere along route 28 from Alton to Chichester or Epsom, Danis Super Market in Pittsfield is worth the short side trip, plus you get to see the scenic river and dam!

Danis is a small friendly grocery store with a family atmosphere. I recommend getting the meats from the butcher great quality and great prices.

It seems to be stuck in the 80s but they always seem to have everything I need if its just a quick shopping stop. The waterfall/dam across the street is beautiful though

Danish is a local market that has what you need. Its small, and a little short on frills because of that but you can definitely put together a meal there. The staff are friendly.

This family owned local standard is in its 4th generation at least now & still enjoys the reputation of one of the last real butchers meat cases where you can look thru entire trays of cuts that are being trimmed right before your eyes as you shop. Great freezer deals in the meat section as well.

Food is good but very expensive, no other place to get groceries around here except Concord. I suggest you make the trip to Concord, we were short five cents and they refused to let us get what we needed, couldnt even put in five cents for us.

They discriminated me because of my working service dog. Not going here again. I was treated badly and yelled at when my service dog alerted to an oncoming seizure. Apparently poodles cant do work smh never going again. Use caution if you have a service animal.
