The owner or employee working here wouldn’t let us park and get a donut. He was very very rude. My boyfriend said he just want to get a donut and walk around. But he said no you need to get a donut and leave and he won’t take care of anyone’s car. My boyfriend said he wasn’t asking him to take care of his car and the man said, “It doesn’t matter. I will have you towed.” This creepy person just stands outside by donut shop watching who is parking and threatening to tow them. We were not able to get a donut here but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone based on how filthy it looked on the outside and how rude this person was.

Greatest doughnuts anywhere. The glazed are to die for, applefritters are wonderful, buttermilks melt in your mouth. I go every weekend for at least a dozen. Go early, they only make so many varieties and when they are gone, there gone. Absolutely love this place!!

Delicious!!!! I saw the reviews and saw that I had to be there early. Sunday I was there at 8 and wow what an experience. Apple fritter, chocolate donut and cinnamon crumble for the family with a coffee. Paid 14.00 for 1 apple fritter, and 4 six donuts plus coffee. Every bite was heaven. We tried our luck today and leaving Salem at 10 to see if they still had donuts and no, they were sold out. So glad for the experience on Sunday. Recommend getting up early and grabbing this for an early breakfast to anyone.

I think these are the best Donuts in Salem! They open at 5 AM and sell out pretty much every day. The coffee is darn good too!

I just made my first trip to King Donuts, after several disappointments at other donut shops, where I got day-old or grease-soaked donuts. The people are very friendly and welcoming. I bought a variety of things, just to try, including a danish and a fritter. (I’m still hoping for French Crullers - maybe next time?) I go to St. Honore’s in PDX when I want ‘fine’ pastry. For donuts - hands down the best donuts I’ve had in years. They’re fresh, crispy when they should be, and I liked the Danish very much. It’s out of my way, but I’ll definitely be back, and will be recommending King donuts to friends. BTW...nice pastry case, rather than donuts going stale on open shelves. Thanks!

The best doughnut I’ve ever had in my entire life! The doughnuts are fluffy and not dense like most doughnut places. The doughnut melts in your mouth I would give this place a 10/10 😁I’ve been to voodoo, blue star, and our local day night but this place blows all those out of the water. Owners are very nice and friendly and the prices are fair I will be back.

Was there about 9:45am on November 25 2020. There were only 7 items left to sell as they sell what they make that morning until gone. Purchased two Apple Fritters which are delicious a cup of coffee to go and was on my way. Staff was prompt and friendly. Will go earlier next time for better selection.

Best glazed donut in Salem. The donuts are tasty, the coffee is great and the employees and owners are kind. I recommend coming early, they close when they sell out each day. Also, great appetizer while waiting for WOM to seat you.

These are the best donuts in salem. No contest. Be sure to show up early before 11am just in case because they do sell out every day. Once theyre gone its closing time.

Local favorite. King Donut is the best donut shop in town. Family owned business, amazing fresh donuts. No crazy fancy donut mash ups, just good old simple, classic flavors. When they sell out for the day, theyre done - so get there early, especially on the weekends! My parents and I have been going to this place for years, and now I take my own children there, who also love it. Try it, you wont be disappointed.

Best old fashioned glazed in town. Lightly crunchy on the outside, soft buttermilk goodness on the inside &, most importantly, plenty of glaze. The maple frosted old fashioned is even better - all that I just described with a slathering of maple frosting to boot. Mmmm!

This is a family owned and run restaurant the couple who owner are very friendly nice and clean every time Ive been in there to eat donuts Im always greeted with a smile and the restaurant is always sparkling clean but please know theyre only open till 2 p.m. and if youre not there early they may run out of donuts because they sell a lot. I am a disabled veteran and Ive been treated very well every time I been in there along with my disabled fiance in the donuts are out of this world

Great local donut shop. A wide variety of fresh donuts to choose from. Fast friendly service. Only a few chairs to sit on in the lobby. They sell out of donuts quickly most days. Plenty of parking spots around the store.

This place can be busy and does sometimes sell out at which point they close. The service is always good the family owner/operators are very nice. There are donuts from another place that I like better than here however, these will not be cause of disappointment.

The donuts were very tasty. They plus use some more variety in their products. I was concerned about the cat smell by the entrance. Huge turnoff considering its good establishment. I found another donut place in town Im happier with.

We buy their donuts every Friday usually (not any more) and I had a big long plastic piece in my apple fritter Thats a Red flag for me, makes me feel like what else can be hiding in the donuts that I dont know about. Not the best donuts Ive ever had not the worst...

Fantastic donuts and has always been my go to donut shop in Salem. The have a wide variety of donuts. They also serve Odolla coffee which is roasted locally in Salem. Delicious coffee and donuts is a great way to start your day.

Delicious donuts! Friendly and patient at the counter. I had an apple fritter that was perfect, an old fashioned glazed and another glazed. They were all really good. The seating is a lot uncomfortable and limited but well worth it.

And let’s not forget that they literally only had like 6 donuts out on display. Don’t waste your time coming here.

Great donuts

Like other reviewers, I don’t really eat donuts often, perhaps in large part due to them being gross most of the time (looking at you big purple box). I’m also critical AF and roll my eyes at any 5 star review. With that said, this place is a gem. Beautiful and friendly couple making high quality donuts. I seem to be going once a week or two weeks now that I work nights. They’re excellent! If they ever read this, I dream of a blueberry cake donut, yumm. This place is so good it makes me want to be someone who eats donuts frequently, but I’m okay without diabetes. Thanks for the excellent little treat after working all night!

One of the oldest donut shops in Salem and theyre still good

I’ve lived in Salem for over 10 years and this was my first visit. I have heard a lot of good things about King’s Donuts so I was looking forward to it. My husband and I ordered 2 donuts and I went to pay with my debit card and was rudely told my total had to be $3. I never saw this posted anywhere. My husband, who has been here before, was very surprised at this and commented on the less than friendly customer service. I probably would have not thought a lot of this but when I took a bite into my apple fritter I was disappointed because all I could taste was the oil it was cooked in. One of the edges was so hard I could hardly chew it. The more I ate it the more I realized that the donut was burned and that was all I could taste. I finally threw it away and I probably won’t be back.

This is the true little donut shop. Its family run and they always have great selection. And you cant beat the fact that the donuts are great. This is not your freezer dough grocery store stuff.

I needed a ton of donuts and they happened to have enough. The lady behind the counter was a huge help and got me taken care of and on my way. No complaints, and the donuts were delicious!

The staff isnt typically social and its normal for the donuts to sell out before 10am (then they just close up shop) but 5 stars for quality taste speed price and for sticking around despite the [terrible / 24-hr] competition.

My kids and I have a weekend tradition that if they earn enough stickers on their weekly bedtime chart they get to go on a special morning date to Kings! The owners are friendly and the donuts are always fresh.

Have heard what wonderful doughnuts they have & was a bit disappointed. The Apple fritter had very little apple or cinnamon in it & the maple bacon, although fresh was just like standard type Maple bars like WinCo or bc Fred Meyer bakerys sell for 1/2 the price. If Im going to pay$1 for a Maple bar or $1.50 for an apple fritter, I would expect better quality ☹️ The staff lady was very pleasant though 😊

The nostalgia factor is on high whenever I visit King Donuts. Its like the corner donut shop from when I was kid. I love plain cake donuts, and besides being one of the few places you can find them in Salem, theyre also super good here.

Best donuts ive ever had...

Usually I cant just drive by and catch them open.They bake up a good supply fresh and when sold out its gone. So always fresh, generous and Delicious!Cans sit and eat there but mainly made for take out.I have never had a bigger bear claw than Theyre stuffed with Apple pie filling!Jelly filled and big mayple or chocolate frosted cinnamon roles and bars.Especially good crewlers..

Yo if you have not been to King Donuts but you hype up Blue Star, Voodoo or any other “classic” Oregon store you are missing out. At King’s you never have to pay more than like $1 a donut or .25 cents per donut hole. Classic fried donut taste and fluffiness at a fraction of the Portland bougie-ness price. Plus, you rarely - if ever - have to wait more than 2 minutes in line.

Salem Oregon is so Lucky to have professionals like this, serving up the most delicious, fresh doughnuts in the Pacific Northwest!

Although the donuts are fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced, EVERY time I have been there (after 9:30am), they have had fewer than three varieties, and less than ten doughnuts total! Idk why they stay open until 12n, or 2:00pm, when they have little, or no inventory left. Maybe the kinds that sell out early, they need to make more of!!! I got tired of stopping in 4+ hours before they close, to find minimal choices. At least put a sign outside Sold out!
