Love the updated look, and still love the cupcakes. Very cheap compared to other bakeries in Chicago, while also still being equally, or in some cases, more delicious, and also sized perfectly. The addition of the nitrogen ice cream is a cool novelty, and its also really creamy, with a ton of flavors to choose from. The ladies who work here are very friendly and patient, and the customer service is a large part of why I keep coming back. I highly recommend this location if you have a sweet tooth that needs to be satisfied.

Employees are rude. Donuts are hard. Ice Cream wasnt even scooped right. Cashier had an attitude with my wife. They said everything is made fresh everyday, my wife overheard the employees talking about the donuts they were making and how they cant sell them tonight but tomorrow instead. Do not go here. $5 for 2 scoops of hard ice cream. Wish they would make things fresh. I will make sure my family stays away from here.

Writing this review about an experience here this weekend; came in with my family Saturday evening because we had received coupons in the mail for free stuff (Thanks!) It was a 15 ALMOST 20 minute wait for ice cream. Insane. The place wasnt even that packed. There was only 3 people working on a SATURDAY night, place seems understaffed and unable to keep up with the crowds. It advertises quickly frozen ice cream but waiting 15-20 minutes is not quick. Menu was very confusing. With the one staff member, we inquired the service was great. Not sure if Ill be back anytime soon.

Donuts were hard, an employee said they make them a whole day before. There never fresh. Gas station got better donuts. And everything on the menu is overpriced in general. Really not getting what you pay for.

Ugh! Should of gone to Crave or ColdStone! We went to try it out after receiving a coupon in the mail but not really impressed! We weren’t greeted or helped, as some people stated, the menu is confusing and a little bit of a wait. I wouldn’t jump and down for nitrogen anything lol All it did was make the ice cream smooth but it didn’t make it magically delicious!

Ive had the cupcakes before and they are good. Not worth the price, but good. Tonight in addition to getting the cupcakes I got macarons. I absolutely love macarons. These macarons were frozen and hard as rocks. If I wanted frozen macarons, I would have gone to a grocery store or gotten ice cream. The customer service was AWFUL, and the girl who took my order acted as if I was inconveniencing her. Disappointed all around.

Ive only been here once. Disappointed that I took so long to finally try this place out. I took my daughter here on her birthday to buy a single cupcake for her. I ended buying half dozen! The young lady that helped us was so patient and sweet. I saw they offered Frappuccinos and thought for a moment which one I wanted. She recommended Madagascar Vanilla Caramel and it was seriously so amazing!! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Been ordering cakes from here for a couple of years. I ordered one for my daughters birthday and it looked great but was mushy and wet on the inside. We cut the cake soon after it was picked up so I dont know why the cake would be so mushy. None of my guests enjoyed the cake. I informed them, and they said they ensure that the cake was cooked and tested properly and offered me a $20 gift card. I asked them if I could get some complimentary cupcakes for my kids since I had to dump the $125 mushy birthday cake and drive 15 miles to pick up the gift card. That was over a week ago and I still havent received a response. Not going back as I have been a loyal customer but not willing to deal with this type of customer service.I definitely wouldnt risk ruining a special day by ordering a cake from them.

This is one of my favorite cupcake place. I have lupus and am frequently hospitalized for it. A friend sent me these and I was in heaven for the thirty days I was in the hospital. Thank you a million times. They were delicious and wonderful treats.

I actually have one complaint. And it’s about how small your cupcakes are and the price is extremely EXTREMELY high for the little portion size cupcake. I’d understand if they were larger like butterfingers sell. Then I wouldn’t complain,, the cupcake and the taste of the icing are out of this world moist and it dissolves nicely but 4 bites and your done. I doubt you will ever change the size but the price doesn’t match the smallness.

Got one ice cream and machines stopped working. Waited 15 minutes for the other 2 I ordered but they couldn’t get em running. Employees said they were changing something in the back. Had to get refund. Too many m&ms in the one we got. Maybe the machine didn’t work properly for the first one either. Waste of time and money!

I got 6 cupcakes and 12 macaroons, they only gave me 11. Employees weren’t the nicest, seemed bothered I was trying to pick my flavors which didn’t take much time at all. All the macaroons tasted the same and they just put the flavors they had and not the ones I ordered.

I was with a group of friends and we Bought a variety of cupcakes and was so disappointed in the flavors or l should say missing flavors. I expect a lemon cupcake to taste like lemon, the only time I got lemon was the very small amount of lemon curd it had. Every cupcake was the same.The macaroons where the same, ordered blueberry and it was overwhelming sweet, but one again no blueberry flavor. I’ll make my own.

Horrible service! Went in to purchase a certain kind of cupcake and since many were not available I was told I couldn’t purchase them all! When I questioned why I was informed more would have to be made! And what about other patrons who might want them. I guess they know nothing about supply and demand! Rude!!!

The cupcakes are so moist and delicious. They just about fall apart in your mouth. The macaroons are delicious as well. I tried the fruity pebble flavored macaroon, I was very satisfied with the taste. The building was clean. The staff was very friendly. I love the doggy cupcakes!

Stopped in here last night for the first time. The cupcakes are large, which is good. Cheaper than I expected at about $3.75, most similar establishments are in the $4.5-$5 range. The presentation is nice. The frosting/toppings are excellent. The cupcake itself was tasty and moist, I would have preferred it a bit denser. All and all it was a good experience. Staff was friendly, the place was clean.

After all the pictures I decided had to come into this place. I went in with my dad to get two dozen cupcakes, one for my husbands family, and my dad was getting some for ours.Went in, no lines, and no greeting, even though there were two people up front. :(We walked up to the counter and a younger gal asked what she could get for us, and an older gentlemen interrupted her to let us know they were having a Black Friday deal. Of course that’s awesome news!We explained that it was our first time in and that we wanted to get 24, while the girl was explaining choices and favorites. The guy cut her off... again.... to let us know that the deal was only for 1 order. Explained that’s okay we are paying separate. He then explained further that we both couldn’t get the deal because we came in together, even though the cupcakes were going to two different locations. I wouldn’t mention it, but he was very condescending, we walked in willing to pay full price! It was almost as if he had an attitude.Thankfully he went towards the back for a moment and the young gal was sweet and apologized that we couldn’t both get the deal. And she helped box up 1 dozen. As she was putting in the last one .the guy had come back up front and again explained to the girl helping us that the deal is only for one box.......... then he went to help a couple of girls that had just come in.At this point it was becoming just rude. I think at that point both my dad and I were just upset and confused, ... we get it already . But we skipped the second dozen, just because of the attitude. (And honestly almost had the girl cancel the first box too) the girl though you could see was clearly awkward about the whole thing and apologized multiple times while ringing us up.I’d like to say she is the only good thing we experienced in the place. As for the cupcakes? I made sure that my dad took my box because my aunts were so excited about them so I wouldn’t know. And will not be returning

You guys need to try this place. They bake everything fresh daily and by hand all from scratch and they donate all the left overs. They donated to the hospital when I was there so I had to stop by and support them and it was well worth it. Great customer service and very clean place. And the cupcakes are the best in area I will tell everyone about this place.

What an amazing Staff. the cupcakes are the best I have had in a while. Moly cupcakes was my favorite till I tried this place. the Manager was supper nice and build my cupcake for me as I wanted it. I am a gluten free customer and they made me the best gluten free cupcake ever. The best ice cream hands down. Freshly made to order ice cream and cones. And its not the rolled one. Its actually scooped just like the regular ice cream we all know. They use liquid nitrogen to basically flash freeze your choice of ice cream in seconds. They have 5 bases to chose from. Classis ice cream. Yougart, vegan, sugar free and sorbet. Unlimited flavors to choose from as well as mixings and toppings. The ice cream is very smooth and creamy the best I have ever tasted so far. They also sell some frappuccino drinks. I tried the white chocolate caramel cookie and it was amazing.

Hands down the best cupcake and ice cream shop in NWI. I have tried all of them from designer desserts to Butterfingers. this place has the freshest most moist cupcakes. and service is just amazing. you can actually have a conversation with the employees as they on purpose dont display their ice cream flavors so you can have a real conversation with the employee. I felt their customer service is the greatest and they take the time to explain to you how they made their homemade ice cream. great job please keep it up

Friendly Staff, Clean Facility, Delicious Cupcakes and the guy that works there won Sugar Rush. What more can one ask for? Oh I know, How about ice cream that matches the flavor of the cupcakes. I cant wait until my sons birthday. I am excited that they do custom cakes. The other ones I visited dont.

All of the cupcakes had an overwhelming amount of dense, over sweet, cream cheese based frosting on them. We got a couple dozen and half of them ended up in the garbage. The kids even thought they were too sweet😳 Please offer some cupcakes with a light whip cream or light butter creme frosting. On another note, the cupcakes looked great and my dogs loved the mini dog cupcakes.

Delicious cupcakes, home made ice creams with unique flavor combinations. (I just picked up lemon blueberry Ive cream and its to die for) and you can even pick up all natural cupcakes for your furry friends at home for a treat!! Wonderful staff and really cute cafe. I will be going back to try more Ive creams and different cupcakes again soon.

There cupcakes are delicious. I usually hate frosting, but here it doesnt taste like too much sugar. They have a variety of flavors that makes it hard to chose one. Their ice cream is also delicious they have amazing flavors there too.

Ive been there 3 times and I was pleased at the cleanliness, variety, and the taste of the flavors that I chose to purchase. The creativeness of the cupcakes and the presentation keeps you coming back for more. I also communicated with them on Facebook when I was looking for a particular flavor and they responded promptly. When that flavor became available, they messaged me and I went and purchased after work and I was quite pleased.

I came in here for the first time today because someone told me they have cookies and cupcakes for puppies. They also have the most amazing cupcakes, ice cream and cookies for people as well. There prices are reasonable! Highly recommend trying this place

Went in to use a groupon, did not realize it was for a different location. Cashier scanned my groupon, she then marked it redeemed from my phone and confirmed it from my phone. She then realized it was for a different location and advised me she could not accept it. My voucher is gone, Im out of $7 and neither the cashier nor the manager could offer anything other than 20% off (which means I would have to spend about $40 to recoup my $7 loss from their mistake). I never write negative reviews but this could have been handled better. They have lost a customer.

I was visiting family in Indiana and stopped by small cakes to buy some sweets. I liked the variety of flavors, great taste, and most important the friendly customer service. I recommend the place to everyone to give it a try.

First time trying this place, and I must say these are amazing. Im visiting from LA and Im used to getting my cupcakes from Sprinkles, but these have definitely beat them in my book. Not only are the cupcakes super moist and have a lot of flavor, but the staff are super friendly and the shop has really nice decor. We tried a Smashcake which was made with their homemade ice cream in-between one of their cupcakes, and man was is tasty. Overall I love this place and service and products are top notch. I definitely would recommend giving them a try.

Unless you have money to spend and dont want to have to say you got your cupcakes from a grocery store, I recommend you dont waste your money. I spent $80.. Everyone had the same opinion. My family ordered two cupcakes, the cake was ok but tasted like box cake. Frosting was terrible, tasted like stale marzipan. Service could have been better, my husband asked the counter staff if they had any additional flavors available in the back, an employee said no. After we checked out, he brought out a whole tray of additional cupcakes. Cakes were really over priced... I would have been better off getting grocery store cupcakes.

Ive tried several cupcakes at other local cupcake shops, but the cupcakes at Smallcakes were the best ones Ive had. They were moist and the buttercream had a great smooth taste to the ones I tried. Im a home baker so I dont usually order baked goods, but this is one place I would spend my money for an order. I cant wait to try their other flavors and treats.

I am so disappointed a few weeks ago, i stopped to place an order for a doggie cupcake. The young lady took my order, I paid full price for a LARGE cupcake. Few hours later the young lady called me to tell me her boss said she couldn’t make one LARGE doggie cupcake . I would have to place an order for a dozen and as she was telling me this over the phone as she was giggling !!!! Very unprofessional how they handle this situation. We went to the grand opening on Saturday. They had balloon animals for the kids which was nice. We ordered a dozen mini cupcakes so we can try a variety and then several big cupcakes and some macarons. The cupcakes were definitely amazing. But I must say I was a little disappointed in the macarons. I love them and they are hard to find places. I ordered 4 medium sized ones in a different flavors and the first one was super hard, the second one was super chewey, and the 3rd one I couldnt even get past one bite. The fourth one is just sitting in a Tupperware at my house. I dont know if it was because everyone was ordering cupcakes and not macarons that day, so I was eating them that were made for the day and they were just sitting there?!? I will try them again because thats what I do. I wont write something off one time. Maybe sometime in the future when they have been open longer. But I would definitely recommend their cupcakes!!! Delicious!!

As a baker myself, I always try to try any new bake shop in the area. Hands down, this is the best Ive had! The cakes were super moist and the frosting wasnt cloyingly sweet like a lot of buttercreams are. I had the chance to have a taste of three of their flavors (unfortunately not all to myself haha): the red velvet, coconut raspberry (I think this was a special daily flavor) and vanilla with chocolate buttercream. Each of them better than the last! This is definitely my new favorite cupcake destination in NWI!

Second time here, first time workers were very helpful, came today and asked to try a flavor of ice cream that was on the wall, it wasnt available, nothing was marked and instead of the woman telling us the flavors, we had to ask for every flavor, and a man came out to help asked who was next and the 2 kids with us said they were next, and then complained because he helped us instead of the people who came in 5 minutes after us, cupcakes and ice cream 5 stars, employees not great, just seemed like we were bothering them and they were annoyed to help us
