I upgraded my phone on an existing Boost account. I was told there was a $30 Activation fee. I was told that if I did not want to pay the fee, I had to buy the phone on-line. I saw the charge on the receipt as a phone setup fee, where they turned on the phone and skipped ahead a few steps. It is a total B.S. add-on. If you have the time, buy online and not from this store.
