Carey Road Kroger routinely has empty shelves (check out the grab and go deli section) and consistently fails to re-stock (look at the packaged meat section). In contrast, the 161st and Spring Mill Kroger has fully stocked shelves and has everything I am looking for. The buck stops at the store managers desk. From now on, Im driving the extra miles in order to shop at the better store.
I cannot walk due to severe RA..I call inside to ask if someone could bring out a riding cart for me and they always do!! The cashiers are very helpful, the young men who help bag always go out to my car to help put in my bags..I lost my car keys in the store and panicked when I couldnt find them..the manager looked in the aisles and found them,he came out to the parking lot to give them to me!!🤗
Just read through a few pick-up mishaps recounted here, but happy to report my order was fulfilled as desired with no subs. Right on schedule and no wait for pick-up this morning. Zac was exceptionally friendly, courteous, and efficient loading my vehicle. It was clear he had pride in his work and customer service. Thanks, Zac!
Just got home with our click list order, and egg all over my trunk. An entire carton of eggs smashed, 2 loves of bread just squished to hell. From the sound of it the lady just tossed most of it in my trunk. I assume because I had the audacity to request the bread and butter pickles they substituted for dill be removed.
Not the usual Kroger shopping experience I used to have from other Kroger stores. The staff was not friendly and helpful. When asking for help in self checkout area I received the reply “What’s going on” with a disappointing face from the staff. Maybe she’s not having a good day, but that should not be the answer you give the customer who’s seeking for help.
Kroger pick up is pretty useless... we have been doing pick up since the pandemic started and every week they have half the order out of stock.. as of 2 month ago I was pretty suspicious that common items would ALWAYS be out of stock so decided to go in one day and check myself. ended up doing the remainder of the grocery shopping myself ( nothing was out out of stock) .. I did leave feedback once in a survey and contacted the store but never heard. Pretty useless future if you have to go in and shop yourself... going to start driving the extra 5 mins down the road!
Keeps a fairly good inventory, and restocks items weekly. Associates have always been very helpful and friendly!
I have been going to this store since it opened in early 2000s. Its right around the corner from my house so convenience has been key. There was a time when every employee was helpful and happy. I would now drive 20 miles to get better customer service and pay more. From reading the reviews, it would appear this stems from poor management, if the managers are not happy or dont have proper training, well how can you expect employees to learn better behavior or treat customers with respect. Kroger Corp should read these reviews and ask, how do we correct this? Perhaps they are but not moving fast enough.Listen Kroger, there many choices out there, at some point you will treat people with enough disrespect well, profits go down and we are gone. Dont think it will not happen. One thing this pandemic has taught us is no one is exempt, many businesses have folded. The strong will survive,.There was a time where the pharmacy knew all my family members names, they cared and helped us when needed,. These days, Im a bother for them because they have to do their job or have to deviate from punching numbers on the register. Please lose the attitude, we are all just trying to make it, if I can save 5 bucks a month, well that adds up-help us out here. Its always one excuse after another. Frankly Im over it, we the customers keep the lights on. I understand Im just a number, those numbers will dwindle. Hopefully when you lose your jobs the next place will train you better on how to treat others.I have said my peace, hopefully not on deaf years. Happy New Year.
Hateful community. Customers are hateful, staff is hateful, and prices are too high for much every thing. The only way they keep people coming back are certain sales throughout the store. I have compared prices over the years and most every thing that is not on sale is 20% higher. That makes the sales you might buy from obsolete. Then there are containers. They are concaved underneath so it looks like your getting a good amount but your not. Your getting less. Greed and deceit spells coming bankruptcy. Im not shopping here ever again or any of your stores.
I HATE going to this Kroger. Seems like they pick times where there is the highest amount of foot traffic to restock their shelves. There is always at least one of those giant stock carts just standing alone in the aisle. Too crowded, never enough checkout lines open, common to be out of stock on staple items like Kraft mac and cheese and the good chocolate chips. Also, seems like the basil is NEVER in the same place twice. Weird gripe.
Will never order from pick up ever again. Waited for over 30 minutes to get my pickup order. If they are going to offer pick up they need to staff better to not have there customers waiting over 30 mins to get there groceries.
Have been shopping here for 6 years and the prices are going up nearly as fast as the level of service is going down. Shelves are empty, and the aisles constantly blocked by Click List personal shoppers with their huge carts. Finally after spending $200 you get to bag your own groceries!
Love it here. Just another Kroger, but they all deserve 5 stars right?
Literally the best Kroger Ive ever been to. Super clean! Staff is amazingly helpful! Went once at 6 am and was greeted and asked if I needed assistance 3 separate times in 1 aisle by staff that were stocking shelves. Awesome!
They have a great selection of produce, meat, seafood, deli and other basic grocery items. I love the home-y feel with all of the decorations for the seasons, truly makes it feel like your hometown grocery store. Several sections of shelves seem to be relatively empty, however, at one time; and later in the evening carts are strewn about in the parking lot and not found inside the store.
This is a nice clean friendly Krogers. Easy access, great selection of fresh meet, fish and produce. Fruits and vegetables are fresh and great selection. Nice bakery and indoor Starbucks. If this review helps u check like below.
David the manager of curb side pick up was more than rude to me!! Hateful actually. I had been waiting for a pick up 3 different carriers came to my car asking for someone else. Many people that checked in after me had got their groceries and left. When I called to see if my order was ready. Mr David jumped my wagon. Too bad that men like him ruin customer service reputation
No longer open 24/7.Good selection of everything you would expect to find at a quality grocery store. Most of the employees are knowledgeable and eager to help but that seems to be a road block in the deli department and I think what they call Market Place department to get hot food(s) to order as well as hot and ready selections.Service in these areas are sub par at best whether it be slow service, lack of enthusiasm and basic culinary knowledge on the part of your personal chef and bad presentations of hot foods.
I visited this Kroger store today and was very disappointed with the lack of customer service from my cashier and other associates who were on duty. No where did anyone greet me or my friend during our shopping experience. The produce salad selection was very poor. I will give the store the benefit of saying they were busy but it looked like they had run out of stock on many items. My cashier. Phyllis, did not smile or greet me as I was checking out. The young woman bagging was crying. I wanted to give her a hug but no one, not one Kroger person offered her any comfort. The supervisor ( I guess: an older man with very short hair) finally allowed her to go to the break room to compose herself. I don’t know what happened to make this young woman cry but no one should be that distraught on the front line. What is happening at this Kroger store that no one smiled or looked happy?
I always find what I need for a good price. Never have to wait too long for a cashier either. Love Kroger!
Great store. Very clean. Theyre remodeling and its starting to look pretty awesome. The fruit and veggie section has been revamped and completely facing the front door. So you see this vibrant, inviting display of colors as you walk in. Probably a good marketing ploy to get people to want to eat healthy.
I enjoy shopping here! Yes, they may be out of things at times, but that is the nature of retail business. Everyone that I come across is plesant and always willing to assist and they really do try to make things right. People need to ease up on these hard workers and give them a break!
Nice store and good employees. Kroger has been going more and more to Kroger brands and eliminating the competition. I am really tired of not having choices in my favorite foods. May soon be shopping at Meijer to get better choices
Clean, lots of choices, decent sales and coupons, friendly staff. The deli carries Boars Head deli meats and products. These are by far the highest in quality I have ever encountered. They also carry the Kroger brand, Private Selection, also very good quality deli meats and products for less than Boars Head. Wonderful produce area.
Many employees at the Carey Road Kroger dont wear masks or wear them below their nose or mouth.Kerm and others at the customer service desk are wonderful.
They seem to have all that we need
Never any cashiers of an evening. Always have to use self check out which I hate! Always have to sack own groceries, even in daytime when I have been there. May as well go to Aldis.
What a horrible customer experience. Shelves are empty. Theybhave added more self checkouts, which were all closed and not a single manned register open. So the same 6 self checkouts, only those open and a HUGE line. Hey Kroger, I expect a pay check for being my own cashier.
Today was an exceptionally good day to shop this Kroger. The shelves were fully stocked, produce was fresh and nicely displayed. Most importantly, checkouts were open with almost no waiting in line.
Kroger works best with online coupons linked to your Kroger Shoppers Card. Every week they send me a coupon that I load to my card for a free item. They are usually quite good. I always load all the coupons from their web site for items I normally buy. It is a great experience when you look at your receipt and see multiple coupons were used with very little effort on your part. I am a male shopper and even my wife has given me a thumbs up!
Very nice store.. My first visit Everyone seems very nice. I just ran in really quick to get something. Im actually traveling and I dont normally shop at a Krogers.
One of my favorite locations to shop. There is a great salad bar and a food bar with pizza and sandwiches. The fresh fruits and veggies section is really good.
The employees are always smiling and ready to help if you need it. The set up in the store is easy to navigate and aisles are clearly marked. If you walk by the specialty cheese area they always have some good samples. Great place to shop.
Normally not bad, sometimes lines are longer than youd like if you are grabbing a few quick items. But normally they thin down before you can get really pissed off about not opening another checkout. Parking lot is a little oddball to navigate (due to the other shops in that strip). If you enter from the road on the North side it will be easier.
None of the stockers wearing facemasks. I had thought all Kroger employees were to wear masks??
Every time I have been to this location, all of my needs have been met. Anytime Ive needed assistance locating a product, the associate Ive consulted has physically walked me to the item, which I believe naturally makes you feel like a truly valued and appreciated consumer. OUTSTANDING customer service... around the clock.
I used the order online because I wasnt feeling well. The only thing I can say is I think it took a long time to bring out my groceries. Everything else was great.
Generally a nice experience until you have to speak to the manager. She solves the issue you have, but this is the third time she has been very rude. I come here every week. Also, I had to bag my own groceries (which is fine), but I would prefer not to do someones job.
Excellent Customer Service. Case of sodas fell out of cart while leaving store & charming young male employee rushed to my assistance & replaced the sofa & carried it out to my car. Great employees at this Kroger - simply the best!
Clean. Quick. Good sale prices. Click app is very convenient. You let them do all shopping and just pick it up!
Pharmacy is supposed to open at 8 but never opens until 8:15 or 8:30 because the pharmacist shows up late so she can get her kids on the bus. My daughter needed a prescription before school started but couldnt get it because no one could get it but the late pharmacist.
I love Kroger. My fav place to grocery shop. They always have what Im looking for.
Kroger is always awesome, even when theyre getting slammed. The afternoon of Good Friday and the lines were packed, but every employee was at the registers pushing customers through.
Its closer than Walmart but looks older inside. Most Kroger stores seem to be perpetually waiting for an interior redesign. I visited during the pre-Christmas rush and was disappointed to find their credit card processor was down. It was a madhouse. I was glad I just came for gift cards because the shelves looked like the apocalypse was nigh. The checkout staff and baggers were rushed and hurried, so I didnt really get a welcome feeling on my first trip here. Maybe Ill try again later when there arent a thousand people waiting in line for checkout.
End up bagging my own groceries, even when going through a regular line. Restroom always reeks of urine.
Clean, organized store. Good deals!
I always have a great experience at this Kroger. They always answer my questions and offer a helping hand when needed.
Wonderful store, good variety. Employees there are pleasant and its easily accessible.
Decent grocery store. Friendly employees. The other shoppers will drive you nuts though!
The management here is poor. It was Sunday at 8:15 and there were about 20 people with entire cars full of groceries waiting for self check out because there were no cashiers. There was one but she was on break. The amount of money you save on one extra cashier for when the store is full on a Sunday Night will more than pay for itself. The self check out is not designed for people buying $150 to $200 in groceries. It is for people with a few items. If this store cannot figure this out I will gladly shop elsewhere
This is by far my favorite Kroger. All of the employees are helpful and I rarely have issues with items being out of stock. They also have excellent manager specials compared with other area Krogers!
Lots of great employees at this location, but lots of out of stock items and the produce selection is ALWAYS subpar. Orange, slimy lettuce, fuzzy okra, soft cucumbers and tomatoes, shriveled strawberries. Super frustrating when you want a quick to the grocery and you end up having to go to the 146th/Hazel Dell location where the produce never disappoints!
This store is great. All of the employees are awesome and very helpful.
I shop this location almost exclusively because its cleaner and better stocked than the Logan St store.
Substantially renovated and upgraded recently. Much more upscale than standard Kroger fare. Have to pick times to a certain degree because they get very busy.
Nice strip mall with wide variety of other shops, which Kroger is the main anchor. Minimal staff late at night, so you may have to wait or go find a cashier if they wondered off to do something else. This store seems to stock all the same items, give or take, as the other Kroger stores. Not the newest or most updated inside, but as long as the food isnt expired, and is a low price, I dont need a fancy store like in Carmel to do my shopping. Overall a nice store to have in the area, and I am certain the locals appreciate not having to drive far for good selection of groceries. The meat and deli sections looked nice with a god selection at both. They have a Kroger gas station at the far end of the parking lot, where you can use your reward points to lower the cost of fuel.
They have a great well lit store, with wide Isles that are inviting. Specials on occasion that are awesome, watch for the adds folks!
My one and only place i love to main grocery shop.
Holy smokes!!! The lady who checked be out was SO INSANELY RIDE!!!!! Im glad I only come here in emergencies. Ive never been so offended in my life
Very nice Kroger, good selection of breads and cheeses that you dont always find at other locations. All in all, would definitely recommend.
Good neighborhood store, Kroger has been stocking healthy and organic options in all food sections. I like the fresh local produce. The staff is friendly.
Nice and clean. Associates are always willing to help. Cashiers are fast.
I use this Kroger at least twice a week. Late night I often have to wait for a staff member as the only the self checkout is open and assistance is nowhere to be found for coupons, alcohol, or the checkout machine being glitchy. Go during the day and your experience should be pleasant.
Great store! Good deals. Clean. Lots of Choices.
Click list lets me get groceries for my family in
Always clean. Staff always helpful and pleasant.
They did away with their salad bar. That is what got me into this Kroger. I will be going elsewhere but it wont be as convenient as far as location. Poor decision on managements part. They may not have made money on the salad bar, but they will lose because of everything else that I bought when I was there.
My wife and I have been loyal Kroger customers for many years. Years ago, Kroger really seemed to care. They had competition (Marsh) and acted as though they actually wanted your business. But no more.Want to have a cashier ring you out after 10pm? Too bad. Ring yourself out, and dont bother to ask for an employee discount, you wont get it, even though you have just become a Kroger cashier.Do you love paying premium prices and bagging your own groceries? You will love Kroger! They always seem to have half of the baggers they need at any point in the day. Are we at Aldis?Does your company have a research and marketing team? If so, they need to be fired! Are you aware that plant based foods are the fastest growing market in the food industry? Yet with all of the thousands of innovative, delicious plant based foods being released daily, your company is still selling the same bland, boring plant based items you were selling 5 years ago.Fake meats are everywhere, but your less than innovative practices at procuring them seem as though resting on your laurels has become the norm. Sadly, a lack of competition has made you surly and lazy.We cannot wait for Miejer to show up. They seem to at least try to bring innovative, new plant based foods to our community. Maybe their corporate offices are actually following sales trends.Keep doing what you are doing Kroger, we will soon be speaking of you in the same past tense as Marsh and OMalias. Or ...Step up your game and act as though you want our business!
Very organized clean and great customer service always Ive been shopping at this Kroger for a year now!
Waited 30min for someone to come to the candy arrangements even after asking staff
Love itIts very good about having most things you need in stock
Inventory was minimal, only 4 lanes were open with people 6-10 deep. The little produce they had looked awful. Wont be returning to this Kroger.
Best grocer in town folks, at least for everyday stuff. Gotta check out the cheese and the bakery stuff.
Found everything quickly. Fast friendly checkout.
Kroger is the best. The emopleys are so friendly to us and others.👍
We like the .03 off per gallon of gas. Easy to get in and out.
Great selections, looking forward to their renovation. Also, hoping for improvement of their produce freshness.
Sadly i dont still have my receipt but i bought a twix from this store 2 days ago and just opened it, well the first bite was stale and made my stomach hurt so i looked at the date on it & it expired EIGHT months ago!! It would be nice if the employees tended to the shelves & make sure all expired stuff is off the shelves!
ClickList is convenient. They dont always have items in stock but Tom is helpful in trying to find what I need.
Large, beautiful open area as you enter in produce & deli, which has now reduced variety & width in the aisles
Close, convenient. Discount on fuel. Online shopping is super convenient.
Its a nice clean cheerful store the young men and women that work there are very knowledgeable where all there product are
Good food, fine workers, could use more staff.
Clean and staff nice, be nice if hot lunch options were extended past 1 for late lunch takers, but have other lunch options that are great
Good store. I love it more since the renovations
You can never go wrong with krogwr. Nice place, clean great prices
Christmas Eve or not, the posted hours say the store closes at 6pm. At 5:51 I am rudely turned away trying to buy a gallon of milk. While there are limited places to buy groceries in Indy, I will go out of my way to go elsewhere.
Great revamp of the store. Enjoy the added services as well.
Great as all ways only wish ie that they carried more Italian food.
The store itself was good. Was a to find everything I needed. But the check out was not pleasant. The clerk that rang my groceries up was very rude. He didnt like that I asked him to double bag my heavy items and he was rude to myself and mother in law who was also getting her groceries. He treated us like we were incompetent and we didnt appreciate being talked to like that by a young man. His name was Bradley.
This was an unpleasant shopping experience several of the items I went to this store to get they did not have in stock or they no longer carry it at kroger. This is not the first time i have had the same experience at this store. Items not in stock where lactaid whole milk, carnation liquid coffee creamer. Items I was told the store no longer stocks are simply potato in the cooler case, back to nature chocalate granola, and clorox scrubbing singles. I will not return to this Kroger it is to much of a hassle. I usually end up having to go to another grocery to complete my shopping.
Im changing my 5 star review from 5 months to a one star. Serious this place has really taken a dive. all cart corals are full and no baggers everytime. Also cashier just stood there while lady in front of me paid and didnt attempt to bag her groceries then did the same for me. Look if this dont get better Amazon go or something similar will take your place.
People were very helpful and it took me no time at all
Super reliable store, but it is no longer a 24 hour store. As far as I know, the new closing time is midnight.
Love this store their click pick is always on point.
Great prices and getting lots of money off my gas!
Good location. Gets busy from time to time.
Typical Kroger Friendly service friendly people a good store
I get what I need for a fair price and the selection is diverse. Very popular with locals.
