I just recently moved to Asheville for work and am in my waiting period before my insurance kicks in. I got an eye infection a couple weeks ago and went to see Dr. Lear. She prescribed me oral antibiotics. I did mention that my body doesnt react well to antibiotics and they often make me very ill with many side effects. She suggested this was the best and most effective route so I took her advice. I completed my 10 days of antibiotics and my infection got a bit smaller but never really went away, and I still had terrible side effects. Last week my eye infection started getting big again on Friday and I wasnt able to call before they closed for a follow up so I had to wait until after the holiday weekend. I called this morning and they were able to fit me in but told me Id have to pay again. I already paid $180 for a 15 minute eye appointment for her to look at my eye and write me a script for antibiotics that completely wiped out my immune system but didnt treat my eye infection. The staff was nice enough however, their prices are not fair. Ive had various appointments where follow up care is included as a service when the main goal is to actually help the client, not just get money from them and not treat their pain or injury. Would not recommend for self pay and definitely wont be going here even when my insurance does kick in. I picked this office for their great reviews but after my experience i am just disappointed with their quality of care and follow through treatment. Looks like another fun day of a giant stye in my eye after waiting several days for them to open back up.

Dr. Lear and her staff are phenomenal! I was nervous about switching to a new eye doctor since my former eye doctors office stopped accepting my vision insurance. Dr. Lear and her staff made me feel very comfortable! They all have the most welcoming and friendly attitudes. Dr. Lear was very thorough with her exam. She took time to explain my eye health, and gave me a chance to ask questions. I did not feel rushed at all. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Lear took her time with me! Shout out to Lindsey for being a super sweet receptionist, and to Kelly for her patience while I picked out a new pair of frames! I will be recommending Dr. Lear’s practice to my family and friends!

The staff here are a TREAT!Dr. Lear let me ask all of my eyesight-related and eyesight-adjacent questions; I really appreciated her patience in making sure I understood each part of the eye exam process and what went into finding my prescription.Kelly, Peyton, and Corbyn are the DREAM TEAM! I take glasses shopping very seriously as I wear glasses at every waking moment, and this team was so helpful in letting me try on frames. It was so nice to get their opinions and help with my decision-making process. Kelly was especially helpful in the lens shopping area, making sure I understood the difference between the different lenses and add-ons and even let me try out the different sunglasses lens options in the frame to make sure I was truly happy.Yall are a gift and a treasure, thank you so much!

I had a fantastic experience. From booking my appointment to checking out at the end.Dr. Haley, Lindsey, Lisa and Carrie. I cannot say enough. The atmosphere was clean and very nice. They have the most updated equipment. The doctor and staff are just wonderful. Sweet, accommodating, polite, funny and very experienced and knowledgeable.I don’t live Asheville year round but I would almost say that I’m willing to fly here every year just to have my appointment.

Rest of staff good too...All state of the art equipment here as well... We followed Dr. Lear here when she opened even though the location is way out of our way... Worst experience and customer service ever. Went for contacts and it never happened after multiple weeks. Absolutely no feedback during the process. Was only refunded half of my bill (which is double what i paid for the same service elsewhere) because I received a glasses prescription. Even though I was told I didn’t need new glasses and didn’t ask for that service. If you want charged double and treated poorly call today!!

Foriegn body in my eye on job site - googled eye doctor near me- so lucky it was Vision Source! Dr. Lear was able to see me right away and remove the foriegn body and take care of me!

Gave me a +0.50 prescription when the issue was I couldn’t see the board in school or the tv from far back... I couldn’t see anything at all with the glasses and about a year later I went to a Walmart vision center and she revealed I was actually -0.50 and now I’m not blind. Not even including that, they never gave me a prescription paper (which you need to get glasses elsewhere) and ended up charging hundreds out of pocket. I now have glasses perfectly suited to my eyes no thanks to this place. They didn’t even tell me I had any astigmatism, and turns out I do.

I will have to agree that all the people at this place are so kind. They are so knowledgeable at what they do. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming. Dr. Lear did a great job at helping me understand my eyes. She has great communication and was very professional and kind from the beginning to the end of my eye exam. Lisa did great at helping me find the frame that I wanted. Lisa respected what I wanted and did a great job at finding frames that I liked. I highly recommend their service!

I had such a great experience at this office! Very professional and all the staff was so sweet and friendly. I had avoided the eye doctor for five years because I was so terrified of getting my eyes dilated and all that, but I talked to them about it on the phone and they assured me that they would touch my eyes as little as possible and the only uncomfortable part of the exam was the pressure test which was over very quickly. They did everything they could to put my mind at ease and have great deals and packages and will work with you on prices! Definitely recommend :)

Dr. Lear is THE best eye doctor I’ve ever been to! I say that without hesitation! You can tell she truly cares for her patients and their health. She’s very intelligent, professional and so friendly! She explains everything to you and shows you your eyes so you can understand what she’s looking at! I’ve been coming to her for 3 years now! Highly recommend!

I found Dr Aundria Lear by searching for best eye doctor (or something like that). After cataract surgery I could not get new progressive glasses to work. Other offices said I had to get used to them.I paid for an extra eye exam with dr Lear who gave me a correct prescription and I finally had perfect glasses. Now I will go back to Dr Lear for my checkups!

This was by far the best experience I have ever had with an eye exam and buying glasses! The doctor and staff are very welcoming and make you at ease through the whole process which is incredible with the state of the art equipment! No eye dilation unless she sees something she needs to take a closer look at and no puff of air in the eye! The in depth look into your eyes is incredible! My glasses were slipping off of my face so much at work I called to see if they could help. They told me to stop by when I could (even though I didn’t even purchase them at 20 20) and they could try. 5 minutes inside and they realigned my glasses with no charge (I would still call to make sure, before assuming they will do free services). The inside was beautiful and it looks like they have a great selection of eyewear. A+ to the staff, the shop, and the service!

Dr. Lear has been my optometrist for several years now, and I want others to know how amazing she is. My eye exam was thorough, and because she has the newest equipment in the field, I was spared having to have my eyes dilated (ugh, eyedrops!) and the dreaded puff of air glaucoma test. Those things have always caused me some stress, and I am glad theyre no longer part of the process (unless the initial other tests indicate a need for a closer look, which, thankfully, mine did not).Dr. Lear always takes time to explain to me what she is doing and seeing, and I always feel confident in my results. She is friendly and approachable, and she cares about me as a person...today, when I went for my exam, she even asked about my dog, who was sick last week, which meant I had to reschedule my appointment at the last minute.Her office is lovely...spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. She has a large selection of high-quality frames, and her optician, Leslie, took a lot of time with me, helping me choose a pair that I would like and find comfortable.I will not go to another optometrist...I love Dr. Lear, and I recommend her highly!

Best Optometrist EVER! Staff and Doctor was so nice and pleasant. Have seen a lot of optometrist in the last 20 years that I have had contacts, glasses and eye surgery. Dr. Lear is definitely the best I have ever seen. Appointment was for the full work up, every test for the eye you can think of and I was in and out in less than 40 mins.

I was needing to look for a new eye doctor since Im originally from the Midwest and just moved to Asheville less than a year ago.Emma at the front desk was super nice! I called in at 8:01 Monday morning with a problem with my eye. I am not a patient and was visiting from Charlotte, not an ideal start to my trip. However, Dr. Lear and staff got me in literally right away and took great care of me. A potentially horrible situation was resolved and allowed me to carry on and enjoy my time in Asheville. Would highly highly recommend these ladies to anybody living in that area.

Dr. Aundria Lear is nothing short of a miracle-worker. I went in blind, and I came out with sight. I went in with a glass of water, and I came out with a glass of wine. I went in lame, and I came out running laps around Usain Bolt. Seriously though, Dr. Lear is amazing. My prescription changes from year to year because Im a full time student and read a lot (or I just burn my eyes out watching Netflix...the world may never know), but she is able to handle whatever optical challenges I throw at her. She hooked me up with some bomb contacts, and I still have some amazing glasses frames from last year. The service is explosively great. If you need an eyeball miracle, shell hook you up.

What started out to be just a normal shopping day and lunch with my daughter, turned into me desperately needing an optometrist QQQUICK !!! I was so very impressed with Dr. Lear and her professionalism & all the modern technology offered at Twenty20, and the fact that she just took me in with no appointment. She took care of my eye issue and I told her before leaving, that if she would have me as a new patient, I SSSOOO wanted to stay with her for all my future vision needs. So, this week I went in for my first eye exam with Dr. Lear and I must say, I was so very impressed with her professionalism, her kind and compassionate personality, her very friendly and professional staff, the newness of the office, and her vast selection of eyeware to choose from.
