So after many years, I decided to repower my old pontoon boat. I was always curious about the process, and anxious about the outcome. Let me tell you, Fox Lake Harbor exceeded my expectations. As a lover of all that is boating and the river community, I want to share my repower adventure. Fox Lake Harbor was gracious enough to get me pics of the process. Going from a 50hp injected 4 stroke Evinrude to a new 115hp 4 stroke Mercury meant full removal of the motor, the wiring harness, all the gauges and controls. They seemlessly installed all new wiring gauges, controls, motor, and fuel lines. The outcome was a perfect install visually. It looks like it was built this way. Anything that was old, or of concern was brought to my attention immediately. No hidden costs, and no up charges. They are family owned and treated me like a river neighbor, as we all should be doing. Upon pick up they went through the whole process, explaining it all to my over excited girls and making it a really pleasant experience. Now we can tube, and feel confident in the reliability of a new motor. A great upgrade to any structurally sound older pontoon. I highly recommend Neil Moulis and the team at Fox Lake Harbor.

Nice people. Their harbor and the entrance to their harbor are very shallow. I continually ding my prop entering the harbor and navigating to my slip. If you draw more than 2 forget it.

I will not be bringing my boat back to Fox Lake harbor for service ever again. I bought a Lund 1875 pro v bass brand new back in January this year from Fox Lake. I had a few things I needed done to the boat, but the major issue I had was the minnkota ultrex was not syncing to the solix units properly. After Calling a few times and following up Every week, they finally told me on week six it was ready for pick up. I get to the shop, go inside ask if it was ready they said yes we’ll pull it out front. After thanking them and paying them, I go out to hitch my boat up to the truck and notice cables hanging everywhere from the trolling motor, digging into it I realized nothing has been connected. I went inside and spoke with the service manager. He said “we just got back the trolling motor from Minnkota and put it on your boat” I argued with him as it was obvious they didn’t even check to see if anything was fixed. Without connecting the cables and turning on the solix units there is no way to see if everything was synced. He took the boat back and had his team connect everything up while I waited 45 mins around. They threw the cover on and me thinking everything was back to normal I went back home. I get home and take the cover off, just to see the foot pedal out of the recess tray, cables running all over and just the Ethernet plugged in. No cable cover like I had it when I dropped it off. I wish I could attach pictures here. This is an absolute joke. So sloppy and unprofessional. It’s unfortunate that you would try and argue with a customer. And then not only did you not ask their opinion before I left, you left my boat a mess. So disappointed.

If I could leave a lower rating I would. Jeff is a complete scam artist. Tells you he will make things right and never follows through. I would highly recommend finding a boat from a different dealer. Honesty is not a word these people know. I urge my fellow veterans to look elsewhere. Dont let people like Jeff lie to you and sell you a boat with hidden problems that will cost you.

Great experience buying my first boat from Fox Lake Harbor. My salesman Mike was knowledgeable and helpful giving us the best options for what we wanted out of a boat. We bought a new 24 Avalon pontoon. After a few rides in the boat, I noticed I was getting some cavatation. I called and they had me come in right away. Took it for a test ride and they put a new prop on and it fixed the issue. No questions whatsoever... Changed the prop and I was on my way. Great experience all the way around. Highly recommend them!

Ive owned several watercraft throughout the years and dealt with several of the marinas in the Lake County area. Best experience has been with Fox Lake Harbor by far. My wife and I worked with Mike Krumsee on purchasing our first new boat together. Mike was extremely patient with us and never pushy. I especially appreciated that Mikes friendly/helpful demeanor didnt change after the sale, believe me, this is a rarity at some of the other marinas. I found that the service staff was easy to deal with and friendly as well. Highly suggest if your thinking of making a boat purchase save yourself the trouble of hitting up the other marinas and stop at Fox Lake Harbor first.

Fox Lake Harbor is great we just bought a used Bayliner from Brannon . These guys are first class all the way. Brannon was great, lining us up with a slip right away .Service and support after the sale is outstanding! Their staff has been very helpful and friendly, coming out to our boat to check things and help us learn more about some of the features on the boat.

Very accommodating people. Had issues with boat when brought home and they handle it and helped in every issue. I do recommend them.if your looking for a boat.

Purchased a boat from them and was over charged for Wi registration and title fees, called them to let them know I overpaid and they said they didnt charge me a handling fee of $166 which I was never told about nor is it on any paper work anyway they said there will be no refund! Dont trust these guys, I will be contacting the better business bureau. Again check over paper work very closely because if u overpay the will keep your $$$

So for hopefully my last update, my first impression and dealing with them I have them a 5 star, then problems arose and I dropped them to a 2 star from a lot of problems, after finally got all the issues solved and getting to know the team at fox lake harbor things have been working out well, no more problems with the boat so I havent had to be in there much recently, I can say for certain they have one of the best service managers and his name is Dave, I have had minor issues that he has corrected in a timely manor and has gotten me back out on the water, he has worked with me very well on a few problems, when he is not there seems like the entire service department loses there minds, I had a few issues when Dave wasnt around, then I had no choice but to go there when he wasnt around and he really must have worked with his crew cause everything went smoothly, the MOST important part of buying a new boat is there service after the sale, many companys are quick to take your money and when you need warranty work they disappear, fox lake kinda started that way, after a incident and I had a talk with Dave he didnt just hear what I had to say he actually did something about it, there service now is amazing and Im thankful I bought my boat there, boats are in the most extreme conditions and when you buy a new boat you would think nothing can go wrong, sometimes that may hold true other times they dont, to own a new boat and then you have a issue all you want is to get back on the water, the service team at fox lake harbor has really jumped into a class of there own and they will work with you to get you back on the boat you love, they have done that for me and Im sure they will do that for you if you purchase from them, if there is a dealer that has a better price read between the lines and know and check reviews on there service department, sooner or later you may need them, I needed them and they mis stepped, after a little they 180 and jumped. Its feet to get me back on the water........ for that reason I say to all the guys in service and sales THANK YOU for not only getting me back on the water but also for being very professional, I have already sent 2 friends there and 1 purchased a new 1875 pro v. I hope this was helpful, the key to saving a headache is knowing how they will act after the sale is final, I dont care where you go thats the most important, fox lake in my opinion is going to a new level that WILL set the standards for other dealers, saving a few dollars somewhere else can bite you, but I have noticed if you give them a shot they just may beat the others price and you know there service will be there for you after the sale!!!! Bought a new pontoon from a boat show in March. Took delivery Memorial Day weekend and found two small punctures in the captains chair. It appears someone sat on the seat with a razor knife in their back pocket. After many phone calls and empty promises to take care of the problem, the boat is in storage, cuts still in seat. These people dont take care of small problems, shop elsewhere.

If your considering doing business with Fox Lake Harbor be sure you get everything in writing and maybe notarized. They tell you one thing while your buying and then change the deal.Worst experience I’ve ever had buying anything.Buyer beware!!!

Horrible experience! Horrible business! Jeff Ernst & Warren are liars and do not return calls like a professional salesman would/should do when conducting business. It was a scam on Jeffs end and Warren tried to cover for him but there is no covering someones poor lies when the truth comes out.1. The boat for several months was promised to us that all the maintenance was completed and it was in working condition. NOT TRUE! It is July 15th and we still have a mechanic coming to fix things.2. The trailer was supposed to have had breaks, it doesnt. Nice knowing when we pulled the boat out today (the 15th of July) to clean it that we were lied to about another one of Jeffs promises.3. A couple weeks ago we went to dinner on the chain and on our way back to the marina we went to turn our lights on and I had no panel lights but if I flipped the switch the opposite way the bow light came on and no panel or vice verses.4. The stern light was said to have worked and it doesnt so we used a flashlight to ensure we had a type of light to use when it should have been working, per Jeff & Warren.5. My husband and I would call to speak to them for updates or tell them that things hadnt been fixed and we would get all kinds of excuses (i.e. Warren isnt in, Jeff is on phone, Jeff will call you back, Warren will call you back) none of which ever happened or felt they cared about the business they received from us.6. The trailer was supposed to have had been fixed along with what I mentioned above but they used 5-50 cord to hold it together along with break lights that did not work.I can keep going but I think my point is made. We even heard of individuals buying brand new and the boat not working or cosmetic problems in which they fixed but upon returning to the boat there was an excuse of I thought they fixed it...Im sorry, theyll get to it first thing this upcoming week.Its an excuse for an excuse with them. Its about the money not actually listening to the needs of the customer or keeping their word.And for the record, the voicemail you left on my husbands phone about his post/review came from him and not I. This post however, is from his wife. I will not take either down, let the truth be told. Call me if you want to talk about deleting of comments not him!

Do not buy from this dealer. Warren the owner sold me a boat. Which was in salt water never disclossed that it was in salt water. Told me I had full crownline warranty which wasnt true!

Absolute joke of a marina. Sold me a 2005 Sea Ray with a title that was screwed up. The BIN was 20 digits long because they last place that titled it included the manufactures numbers in the BIN. Then this marina proceeded to tell me this is how they do it in Illinois but Indiana would not title it for me. So I waited 2 MONTHS for them to attempt to fix this issue and they told me 3 times that they mailed me the letter that I needed for the BMV and I still never received it. Then when I told them I was going to drive up there myself I was told that the letter will be here next day. Then this letter that was suppose to fix my title ended up being a joke (just like their marina) and all it was was a letter with there logo on the top that says there was a mess up in the last BIN. So at that point I had to take care of it myself and I had to go to the Illinois DNR and get the letter saying that there was an error and this is what it should be. Total unprofessional for a business and on top of that it took 4 weeks to receive my radio faceplate that they didnt have when I picked up the boat. Please save yourself a lot of trouble and stay far away from here, how they treated me and lied to me was unbelievable. If you have any questions about this please feel free to message me.
