We recently had a death in the family and we needed to get our loved ones boat from the Fox lake area all the way to Lake Havasu Arizona. With the just one phone call Erin, Tyler, and Matt saved us all kinds of problems and helped us from purchasing the correct trailer, picking up the TriToon from the lake, putting it in temporary storage, and completely wrapping the boat and preparing it for its long journey. Not one time did I fee like I was over charged or forgotten about-that was comforting. It was all very smooth and we would recommend them to everyone. Thanks again to the Munson Marine Team.Jeff and Donna from Arizona
I just bought my first boat from Munson, thanks to Matt Harves! It’s a difficult market to find a good used boat but Matt knew what I was looking for and didn’t forget about me, he communicated with me promptly and did NOT put me in any bidding war! That was huge! The financing end was a breeze as well, thanks to Erin! They made sure I had all the safety items on the boat, and installed a new fire extinguisher too! The guy that took me out on the sea check out was very experienced and knowledgeable, he took his time to show me how everything worked on the boat which was extremely important to me since this is my first boat! They even delivered it to my boat slip since I don’t have a vehicle to tow! And the service guy even took the time show me little nuances on the boat that will be helpful! A great experience! I extremely happy!
Jody and his service team took care of my recent repair needs promptly and professionally. They even called and emailed on week-ends in regard to scheduling and updates on progress! I first started going to Munson Marine in 2009!
Great experience with Munson. Professional crew, Rick had great attention to detail with any changes made to the order. Erin worked diligently to ensure everything I needed for financing was provided promptly. Tyler took us out for the demo and really made us comfortable on our brand new boat. Would definitely recommend this company, and the products they sell are top notch. Our Stingray 192SC far exceeded expectations! Anyone looking for quality boats combined with quality professionals look no further!
A Great Purchase Experience. Worked with Mike to select and purchase my South Bay. The dealership had several quality lines to choose from and so the sales process focused on my needs rather on what they preferred to sell me. Following the sale, was always available to field questions and assist me.
Thanks to the entire staff at Munson’s for helping us buy our first boat. Mike helped us choose the right boat for our needs and Erin helped us through the purchasing logistics. Tyler’s demo drive was such a helpful intro to our new boat. We highly recommend Munson’s to anyone thinking about buying a boat!
My cousin (Yomi) and I really appreciated the customer service we received from the first phone call to the test drive when we picked up the boat. Matt our sales guy was always available to answer questions (even on his day off he replied to texts & calls), Tyler was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly as he took us out on the water when we picked up the new toy, and Mark made the paperwork process painless. Great teamwork. Looking forward to a fun summer.
We have been using the boating docks for at least 3 years. We bought our boat from them at a reasonable price. The maintenance services have always been done with pride and expertly accomplished. We are glad to use them for all our boating needs and store our boat with them during to off season.
We bought our Bennington pontoon over 5 years ago from Munsons and it was a awesome experience, any service needed has always been great. When the material started wearing out in some spots I brought photos to them, they went above and beyond to get Bennington to replace and install all my seat and changing area. I couldn’t believe it, I am beyond greatful the way they stand behind the product they sell. They have always been helpful and very professional.
Bought a boat here about 20 years ago and was very pleased with the boat and service. Returned recently to have one of their customers boats put on a trailer, cost was $200. Requested to adjust the trailer bunks before the boat was loaded (them or I, I had brought tools). They loaded it while I went inside for a couple minutes. The boat was placed on the trailers fender, gouging the gel coat. When I tried to talk to them about it, they blew me off. Just plain lazy.@Muson, I have the correct location. Ask Jody, was there with my brother on 4/21. Yes you are correct; you did not adjust the trailer, I requested to do it with tools in hand. Jody rudely said We DONT DO THAT. I replied I would do it before it was loaded (was waiting for the boat to be pulled around to get the measurements). Went inside for 5 minuets and came out to the boat being pulled around from the back sitting on the fender and the gel-coat damaged. We had to make the best adjustments we could after the fact. Very sorry to interrupt your YouTube video watching.
We love our boat from Munson Marine! We keep it in their marina too and have the best service always friendly faces amd happy people to help us.Sales guys are knowledgeable honest and will help you find what you want, they actually listen!Go here for your next boat and you will be happy with your decision!!
Rick at Munson Marine is the best salesman and gave me the best price on my Manitou.Wonderful company, great delivery and wonderful service! Definitely a must for your next boat.
Great place to enjoy your time on the water, family friendly, great selection, they have Boats!!!
I’m really disappointed with this company, really bad service dishonest people, I had my boat for maintenance and picked up my boat with the trailer after supposedly they have done the maintenance.1- the license plate is missing from my trailer, I contacted the manager and I got ignored2- while I’m on the highway on of the wheel bearing cap came of and the tire started smoking almost Caught on fire .If you don’t believe me you can try them .
Rick Robinson is especially detailed and knowledgeable about all of the boats features and designs for what you want!! Highly recommend using him for purchasing a boat !
Found A Boat I loved and Mike our sales guy was the best !!!Everything went smooth and I got a great deal.I highly Recommend Munson Marine
Rick Robinson and the Munson Team are my go-to for my boating needs. Purchased my 2004 Chaparral 190ssi from them and it’s been a great boat. I highly recommend chatting with Rick to get familiar with boating and the Chain O’Lakes he will take great care of you!Thank you Munson Marine!!!
Munson Marina the only place to go!Rick Robinson througho, polite and knows his stuff. Thank you for a most amazing experience!
Great place to go for your boating needs, Rick Robinson was great answered all our questions and made sure we were happy with what we purchased!!
The people are great! I was looking at a 22 foot South Bay boat and all my questions were answered! :)
Stay away from this place absolutely scammers .
This place is great! Matt was awesome!
Being a newer boat owner, Rick has always been extremely helpful with answering all my questions!!
Terrible service. Took my boat in for an estimate. They told me $135 for an estimate. I got no estimate and they want to charge me $250. Not recommended to bring your boat here.
Glad to see a new dealer for Veranda Pontoons the area needed one.
So far so good!! I have good feelings about these guys and our purchase. Bought a beautiful pontoon boat at the RV & Boat Show this weekend in Chicago from them. With all those overwhelming, amazing and competitive choices there these guys made it happen! Matt, Casey, Marty, Mike H, Tyler and owner Mr. Munson himself clinched a SCREAMING DEAL ...and Im happy to write about it! Once we get our boat the in water this spring and complete the last leg of the deal, Im sure that experience will be equally as great and will gladly come back to give them 5 stars!
I don’t know where to start . Buying a brand new boat should be a great experience but no not here . I understand sometimes new boats have issues but waiting for 6 weeks to fix a sensor is ridiculous, knowing Chicago summer is 8weeks . So far I brought the boat for small issues and every time you have to wait 6-8 weeks to be looked at and then another month to do warranty job. Good luck enjoying your boat all summer hahha . This guys are a total joke
It was great dealing with rick and mark as our sales and finance . Boat was delivered as promised and even took my wife who was picking up the boat on a ride to show how it runs. Rick has gone above and beyond. Had a hiccup and he is remedying the issue to keep us happy. If you are in the market for a boat. Talk to rick. Awesome guy!
After texting Matt for a few weeks, we took the 2.5 hour trip down to Illinois to look at a Monterey boat. With relatively short notice Matt did his best to have the boat ready to look at. Right from the start he was easy going and pressure free. He was also very knowledgeable about his product line. While we have not yet made a purchase, we will without a doubt be giving him a call if we do. His follow up and easy approach were appreciated.
Very bad service .rude staff, Untrustworthy
This is the best place to go to for a boat. These guys are great and fun to talk to... They never pressure you in to something that you dont want. Matt is a great guy and really loves what he does .. Go see him!
Loved the Boats!!
First on a positive note, our sales experience last year with Peter was outstanding. From start to finish the process was thorough, timely and fair. Would I buy from Munson again? You betcha! Now although the personnel is very friendly, I have never seen a more unorganized service department in my life. I had my boat scheduled for delivery months in advance and they call me hours before, on day of delivery, where we had a payment dispute that could have been addressed months, weeks or days in advance. This caused an unnecessary delay on delivery. Not cool! Secondly, we pay twice as much as we would at Watts or Bald Knob for indoor storage and winterizing to the tune of $1,700 and Watts will do the same for $750 and my boat was delivered with opened seats, dirt and dust everywhere and leaves all over the floor and in the bins under the seats. So service? We plan to store and service elsewhere for Winter 2019.
This is where our family boat is moored. Nice marina.
Love this Place!
Good service with social distancing.
By far the biggest joke of a dealer Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Excuse after excuse after almost a year on a warranty issue. The owners a joke and does nothing but blame everyone else. Spend your money elsewhere if you want service!!
Bad bad bad experience 1 star minus 1 star = 0 stars. This is a follow up form 2 summers ago. What I figured out to fix a problem Munson Marine mechanics couldnt figure out.Handshake agreement to buy pontoon with power steering, after I agreed to buy boat I read the sticker that I found in the glove box that they told me they didnt have. Did not have power steering. Told them I didnt want with out pwr steering. They said take it for a ride if I dont like it we dont have to buy it. Could not turn boat to left, ridiculously hard, my wife had to use 2 hands. I backed out. Mechanic went on boat said it was fine. What a joke. Id find a new mechanic. They kept my $1,000.00 deposit. I left and bought from Munson Ski and Marine an hour after I left this place. Much better dealer.Find out later from a real mechanic who winterizes my boats that there is a trim tab on lower unit. Turns hard to the left then adjust the tab to right. Turns hard to the right adjust the tab to the left. Yep that simple. I think Mr. Munson and his business practice of stealing peoples money should hire new mechanics. What a joke. Asking me what I think of this place? I wouldnt buy sand from this guy and his business.
Fantastic service, make you feel like family!
This was by Far the Best buying experience we have ever had, I dont normally leave reviews but I absolutely have to. We werent even going to buy, but working with Matt Harves was unbelievable. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, we honestly are still blown away. We Love our new MANITOU !!! He went above and beyond for us and gave us Incredible customer service throughout and after. GO AND ASK FOR MATT you will be blown away!!!
Recently purchased a new South bay and it has been a fantastic buying experience. From sales, to the owner to the guys in service everyone has been great to work with. Every question we have had was been answered promptly and with sincerity. If you are thinking of buying a boat this is who I would recommend.
Always great service! I love keeping my boat here!
Recently bought a used Alumacraft from Munson and couldnt have been happier with the experience. Friendly and knowledge staff who were patient throughout the sales process; consistent follow-up but not pushy.Brannon walked through all parts of the boat on shore and during the test drive. He knew my budget and focused on why the boat fit my needs rather than trying to up-sell me something with a larger price tag.Knew I wasnt the biggest commission of the day, but always felt like I was a top priority. Excellent overall experience.
Mr. Brian Gidley, salesman at Munson Marine, went out of his way to introduce me to South Bay pontoons which I was inquiring about. He is very knowledgeable about the line and options available. His attention, assistance and advice deserves five stars! Thank you, Munson, for a great shopping experience.
I bought my South Bay pontoon last summer and love it. I keep it at the marina and it is a great place to keep it (safe). The best part of keeping it at Munson is the service. The guys there have serviced my boat well and are very nice. I will keep my boat slipped and stored at Munson.
Great experience here! Ask for Mike, he did a fantastic job showing us around!
Munson marine is is the best!!!
BUYER BEWARE!Bought a used boat from Munson on July 5th. Knowing it would be an As Is transaction we agreed, but needed to ensure it was running. On the paperwork it was reiterated that the boat should run. When we got to Munson their captain took us to the boat and it took awhile to get started. That should have been our first warning sign, but we were advised it was cold as it hadnt been started in while. We were told the motor and battery looked good.Boat started, we signed the paperwork, and we drove it for FIVE minutes back to our pier. It has not started since. That was three weeks ago and we have been given the run around. Slow response to our calls and lack of any help. They sent a Tech to our pier a week after requesting it. He thought it was likely the battery. However, he did not come with any tools to either replace or EVEN jump the battery. Most upsetting is he told me his boss told him dont spend a lot of time on it. MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A VALUED CUSTOMER, doesnt it?We still will not have someone help us. We even went and bought a new battery based on the Techs comments, but nothing. Dead boat. The boat has not moved since we drove it the FIVE minutes on July 5th. Today is July 26th.They advised us today to not even think about getting our money back, citing the As Is sale.Their advice? Theyd be willing to take the boat to look at it but we need to get the boat to our launch 100 yards away. They even offered up PADDLES for US to use to somehow row this large, 2000 pound paper weight to the launch while somehow avoiding all of the other boats docked.Further updates to come.**July update**: The next day after the original July review above we went back to Munson. Make some friends was the Managers reply after they said they would no longer help us due to the first review. Mind you, they didnt help us for 3 weeks up until that point. Then, when asked who else we could talk to about the situation the Manager said the police and then asked us to leave the store now.**October update: We finally got the boat out of the water and a mechanic looked at the engine. We were advised the starter was shot along with the rectifier. This was diagnosed very quickly and we were advised it was very apparent that the boat was likely set up to just start on that day we were there to pick up and Munson had to know the boat would not work.Thats our interaction with Munson. We did make some friends as the Manager suggested with several people down by our pier and it seems our interaction with Munson is not an outlier but the norm.Happy Boating!
I bought my first boat from Munson Marine last spring and have kept it at the marina ever since.....And I couldnt be more satisfied with the experience. It is refreshing to be on a first name basis with sales, management and the service dept. MM has proven to go out of their way to take care of their customers. I would mention the event in which I am refering to but I dont want to broadcast unreasonable expectations on the web--I am very grateful for the help they provided.I recommend Munson Marine for your boating experience. I will be a buying my second boat from Munson as well!
I would not buy another boat from this dealer, especially preowned. I drove 5 hours from Michigan for a misrepresented boat and service desk BS after trailer failure on the highway. The description of the boat said it had silent choice exhaust (minimum $1000) it didn’t (how could you miss that). The salesman lied about the hours on the boat. He dodged the question, then finally answered it. When I got there the boat didn’t even have an hour meter (how could he have stated hours). The salesman told me the boat would be prepped and detailed for me when I arrived. They had a purchase agreement signed with plenty of time, and they never touched the boat and it showed. When you’re a full service dealer some moron from a service desk shouldn’t tell anyone their trailer bearings could fail because they’re not new. They got money to take the boat in on trade, and retail to sell it. You have a guy you employ in a blue uniform pull it apart, inspect it and take care of it if it’s suspect. The owner was receptive to fixing a non-functioning trim gauge, which I did appreciate. But the other stuff is directly related to the people that interact first with the customer, and they failed miserably. If things are handled properly you should never have to meet the owner of any dealership!! Bottom line: I got a bunch of crap from a sales guy that didn’t know what he was selling or really even care about it, and a junk trailer I was responsible for fixing when it didn’t get me home without failing.
I have bought boats, had them serviced and also had a slip there. Always great experiences. Friendly staff.
Excellent service department they took really good care of my boat thanks a lot
Great staff and facilities. Purchased and boat and slip. Cant wait till the season starts again.
I bought my used Crownline from then in 2015 - I was very happy with the transaction and follow through. There are now my go to from service work.
This guy cares a lot about his reputation and business.
Very friendly, nice and knowledgable
Great service
The service here is always above and beyond. Period.
Very helpful
