Paul and Henry were fantastic to work with. I brought a new to me 77 year old M1 Garand and wanted a once over from a professional to make sure I was good to take it to the range. They worked quickly, shared their years of knowledge on cleaning and maintenance, checked its head spacing and went above and beyond to make sure I was confidently safe to fire it. Any future work I need will come to Grimes.
Amazing place. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. Friendly customer service and they treat you like they’ve known you forever. That’s not mentioning the quality of the work. They were packed with orders but still managed to cerakote pins and backplate and install a new trigger and mag release. In exactly one week. For a very reasonable price. If you want a knowledgeable owner who cares about customer service and takes pride in his work, grimes is where you need to go.
I took a Moisin Nagant in to him to add a muzzle brake, remove the original sights and some other work. He did an excellent job and his prices were very reasonable. He also mounted my scope mount for a reasonable price. Other shops wanted 2-3 times a much and spent their time ridiculing my choice of firearm to build. He just did what I asked without any editorial opinion. Im going to use him for future work as well.
Great couple of guys. Local place to get your gunsmithing done and affordable as well. Love what they did for my Mossberg Shockwave... Thank you guys.
I would throw away my gun before I would take it back to Grimes. Grimes was my #1 choice when I read all the positive reviews. I initially called to get a quote to switch my trigger, trigger spring, and shotgun followers. I was quoted $75 but I was told that they were booked out for 4 weeks. He said I could drop it off and they would be able to work it in sooner since it was a simple job. So I did.Two weeks later, no call. Four weeks later, no call. I call the store and they ask me which gun I dropped off. Then the fun begins. The guy Im talking to has no recollection of my shotgun. He spends about 5 minutes rummaging around and finally finds it in a safe. Then he says, What are we doing with it? I asked if he was joking and he tells me that there is no tag on it. I dropped it off with all of the parts and they filled out a tag with the work order and provided me with a receipt. He finally tells me to give him a week and theyll get it it done. One week later, no call. Two weeks later, I received a invoice in my e-mail. I open it up and its $50 for the labor associated with the trigger. I call the next day to ensure they also installed the followers I dropped off before making a 45-50 minute round trip. Nope! He asks me if I have the tool to remove the barrel nuts. I explain to him that I took it to a gunsmith because I did not have the tools to do it myself. He tells me that hes going to make the tool to do the job and it should be done by the end of the week. One week later, no call. Two weeks later, I finally decided that Im going to pick it up regardless of the status. I call and he tells me that they ordered the tool to remove the barrel nuts and it should be here tomorrow. Then some guy yells at him from the back and tells him it already arrived. I told him that I would be coming by the end of the day to pick it up regardless. I show up 8 minutes before closing and the CLOSED sign is hanging on the door. I enter anyway and the guy is looking at me like Im an idiot from behind the counter until I tell him which gun I came to pick-up. He gets my gun and gives me a bill for $100.So in closing, I was quoted $75 in labor for a simple job that they were supposed to work-in within a 4-week period. They charged me $100 for labor and gave me my gun back on week nine. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. Let the hassle and the $100 I spent be a lesson learned for you. Good luck!
Great experience. Not only was my problem resolved but they showed me how to avoid getting in that position again. It cost me a bit but sometimes you pay mor for the lesson than the cure. 100% no doubt who I will go see the next time I have an issue
I came in 20 minutes before closing and they worked on my weapon for 45 minutes! They finished everything after closing hours for me. I would recommend this Gunsmith to anyone. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to get your weapons worked on.
He did a bang up job, did it for the right price, and did it quick! Couldnt ask for more in a gunsmith. I would gladly return should I need his services again.
I was looking for a local machine shop to do some milling on some suspension parts for my car. Got a reco to contact Grimes Gunsmithing. Henry said he could do the work. His work was perfect. He completed the job within a couple days. I will definitely go back for some additional work. An excellent experience!!!
Great place with really knowledgable amd friendly ppl. They helped me with a small issue I was having with a tool. Will def be coming back to get some other stuff done Ive been wanting. Cant go wrong here!
Friendly & fast service
Got a muzzle device pinned and welded, took less than 48 hours. Looks good, much better price than other big name stores which I requested a quote for the same thing...I would recommend anyone to definitely call this place and ask what they can do before taking it somewhere else...
Found Henry by accident in 16 ( drove by and decided to stop in ).. Took some stuff in that someone else had messed up, not only was he gracious and accepting but a cool guy to just to talk with. In 08-17 I had a house fire, I lost EVERYTHING except my guns because Henry saved them all.. There were modern rifles and pistols as well as pieces that are over 100 years old. Not only did he save everything but he was able restore my older stuff to better condition. He also put me in touch with a guy who was able to restore the 1800s era leather case for my 10g Parker Brothers Damascus shotgun. Henry is my goto guy now, he should be yours too
Great service
Great guys.
Unable to reach this business by phone. They have no voice mail . Will seek a business I can actually contact
I am a very satisfied customer here. Henry is a very nice, friendly guy. I took my .357 mag. lever gun over for him to fix. He took great care of it, fixed it up at a reasonable price and time. Totally recommend!
Courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Who could ask for more?

Ive had Mr. Grimes do a few small jobs for me. Always top notch work and very reasonable prices.
Great place and guy. Super friendly which is unusual in the gunsmith biz and really knows what he’s doing.Highly recommend.
Henry did great work at a fair price with no overselling. Barrel work, combo brake, and BFS trigger install without any dings or knicks. Veteran friendly. Selection of small arms, rifles and knives.
Henry is a good man go see him for all your gun smithing needs.
Great guys ! I would trust them with anything I own . Did a perfect job installing a Break on my Remington 300 Win Mag .
I was referred to Grimes Gunsmithing by a friend... Henry repaired my Remington 870 while I waited, (less than 30mins) which is almost unheard of these days... Also took a look at my Ruger SR22 and let me know it would most likely be covered under Ruger warranty and give them a call. Called Ruger when I got home, and theyre taking care of the problem... Would like to thank Henry for the honest and not trying to make a quick buck... You sir have my business going forward... Thank You and will see you again... JJ
Great fast service with correct price at invoice time. They had my gun ready way before first mentioned time line..I highly recommendthem!
Henry answered my call right away, helped me with my issue, and had me out the door in 10 minutes. Great customer service.
