You will never find a more welcoming group of people than at Target Optical in Valpo. Ive been coming here for the last two years and they always make everyone feel extremely valued, even if you just want to come in to get your glasses tightened. Highly recommend, you will be in good hands here!

I already had my prescription when I went to shop for glasses at Target. Debra was a very helpful, she really knows what she is doing, and she does it with professionalism and kindness. I love my new Armani glasses, and they cost less than other places shopped. Name brand frames, quality lenses with all the extras and still less than other eye glass vendors. Bought 2 pair of glasses from this location, totaling a little over 800.00, 630.00 which was not covered by my insurance. Naturally I paid for the insurance for my 2 pair of glasses. When the stem on 1 pair began to get out of shape, I went to the optical dept to have them reshaped. I was told at that time that the arm of the glasses is in fact NOT bent, thats the way they are made. I was even lectured about how to put on and remove my glasses properly. I again need to go in to address this issue, but hesitate because of the lack of concern for my issue. But....you should be able to buy any pair, at any cost and not be treated like a child with their first pair. Ive been wearing glasses for over 50...I know how to put them on as well as remove them.

Due to covid they can not accommodate numerous family members. (4 in my case) They asked another “guest” to have his approximate 5yr old daughter to wait outside the vision center. I hope they call “code Adam’s” when they are separating parents from children. My husband and daughter needed new glasses, and I needed contacts. Target optical just lost $1200. I’ll find a family oriented vision center.

Took my 3 kids in today and had a very good experience. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The only thing I did not like was that my receipt is not exact. Not 100% sure what I paid for.

I called to make an appointment over the phone with a man. He was so very helpful in having problems finding my insurance. Regardless we set an appointment date and time. Even though he couldn’t find my insurance I thought I was still set for my appointment. I showed up on my date and time he told me, for the lady at the front desk, who wasn’t very nice at all, to tell me I didn’t even have an appointment. Considering I drove all the way from Laporte I wasn’t to pleased. I mean come on who goes somewhere and says they have an appointment when they don’t? She was really rude and said well maybe if our other 2 o’clock doesn’t show up we can get you in. So I asked her to run my insurance first to make sure I am even covered before I wait for nothing. I told her my insurance and she curled up her nose because she never heard of it and then on the back realized it was eye med. so I filled out my paper work and when two other people showed up for their appointment they were surprised at how many people had 2 o’clock appointments like they had no idea what was going on. They made a couple leave because they didn’t “text confirm” their appointment. They were mad as expected. The lady began to become nicer to me but I’m not sure if I will return. They definitely shouldn’t have someone running the desk there like that. Two stars because the eye doctor was nice and they didn’t have very many selections.

Staff is 100% utterly incompetent. It never gets better, save yourself the headache.

I would give this store a higher rating if it was not for the clear amount of disdain the employees have for anyone inquiring about their glasses over the phone. If there was a clear way to track your $500 worth of glasses, I would gladly use it and not bother the employees with my meager inquiry on my raybans. They should just post a sign that says, Calling is NOT welcome for asking when your glasses will arrive I will definitely spend my money elsewhere next time.

When staff called to confirm my appointment they asked Do you have the same insurance as last year and my answer was yes. Apparently they had not confirmed my insurance before my appointment. DURING my appointment they came in and said I was not eligible for an exam until October and I would have to pay in cash. They provided me with a print out of the insurance information which was not mine. At home I was able to confirm that they had looked up the WRONG insurance. Mine was current except I was eligible for an exam the day AFTER my scheduled appointment and was eligible for contacts. The Doctor is OLD and needs to retire. He begins sentences and does not finish them, he talked in fragmented thoughts and actually walked away in the middle of a sentence. Dr. Baker also was able to identify that the reason the contacts I had tried previously were uncomfortable was that they were the wrong size, but did not offer any suggestions for other brands or sizes. I was handed bifocal contacts and told to try these but no education on the difference of bifocal contacts to regular contacts. Poor customer care and poor medical care. I had a great visit the previous year with the other doctor but I will NOT return to Target Optical at this location due to very poor staff attention to my insurance or my needs.

Don’t recommend going here. Workers aren’t friendly and my prescription wasn’t right at all and my left eye contact was bothering me & they didn’t have a trail pair for me. Won’t be going back.

The entire staff at Target Optical in Valparaiso, IN were incredibly helpful, and one staff member in particular went above and beyond to help my daughter. I can’t say enough nice things about our experience, and heartily recommend this shop!

I came here two months ago to get an Eye Exam and new pair of contacts. The staff is super nice and helpful. It didnt take long before I was out the door wearing a fresh pair of contacts. Definitely coming back here again.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this optical office. I recently moved to the area and came in for a routine eye check. Dr. Baker identified that I had been misdiagnosed with astigmatism in the past and was wearing the wrong kind of contacts. I had been having dry eyes for a few months so he also suggested over-the-counter drops, which have made a huge difference when paired with my new contacts. On top of it, he corrected the prescription I had received from a previous doctor — it was too strong, and the glasses I had ordered from Warby Parker were giving me headaches. Dr. Baker was thorough and patient in his explanations, and I will definitely be coming back to see him in the future!
