The only shop I would trust repairs on my tubas. 100% means 100% here.
Mr Smith has been very helpful with my daughter’s clarinet. I love that he is conveniently at her school (I think about once per week or so) so I don’t have to drive the clarinet to him when it needs a repair. And he has been more than fair on the price he charged me. Very grateful.
I have worked with Bill for over 8 years in the music industry - and in business altogether. He explained his strategy to enter the musical instrument repair market when he first started out, and has held firm to his commitment to provide the best customer experience possible.I knew he was on to a great concept, and have watched him methodically invest in the repair and cleaning technology, techniques and employees that are allowing him to provide the best, most competitive instrument repair services in the industry - in the Atlanta area and beyond. His mobile repair facility approach is truly innovative and has allowed for rapid expansion and more personalized service to customers. It is no surprise that Bill and his team are winning more and more public school music department business - while still being able to work with individual customers. The high reviews on this site speak to the commitment and service quality provided. Its always satisfying to see a business owner come in with a bold vision and the ability to disrupt a category once dominated by players that provide minimal value, have no identity in the marketplace, and no desire to offer more to customers.I cant wait to see where things will go with his new East Cobb storefront location, expanding team of repair specialists, and planned musical instrument repair courses.
I’ve worked with numerous High School Band programs for the last decade and a half, and Bill Smith Music is the primary repair service for almost all of them. In the instrument repair business the two most major elements are a quality repair and fast turn around. I’ve heard many stories of how BSM came through on tough deadlines whereas other repair companies just get to it when they get to it.If you do business with this company, you’re dealing with pride and work ethic. Highly recommend!
I dropped off my sons saxophone for Bill to fix, theyre very professional and will work with you an awesome place to have your instruments worked on Thanks Bill
Great service from Bill Smith Music!! The employees are knowledgeable and personable, and I got my repair done very quickly. My daughter and I really appreciate how helpful everyone was. We will definitely use Bill Smith Music again!!!
Bill always diagnoses instrument repair needs quickly and repairs efficiently. Always quality work with the utmost integrity. I recommend him as the first and only person to repair any band or stringed instrument.
Wonderful techs; incredible service. Very quick and efficient, but if something needs time and attention they will be up front with you and make sure the job gets done right.
I had such a great experience. Professional, quick turnaround, and excellent work! I highly recommend!
I had severely broken keys due to dropping my Sax. ”Bill Smith Music“ services were timely, proficient and very professional. And most of all my instrument is in perfect condition and works great!
Owner is rude, arrogant and aggressive if you question his work or practices. There are many better repair shops out there that treat you instrument and the customer better than this guy. It is highly disappointing that directors in some districts are forced to do business with this person due to contracts. I would avoid his business unless you like to treated poorly or have your instrument improperly handled or repaired.
One visit is all it takes!Bill has excellent rates, hes very personable, and his repair work is out of this world. He did routine maintenance on my alto, and then he worked some magic on a beat up tenor that Ive had for a while. Both horns play great. Thanks Bill!
Fast! Reliable! Experienced and Dependable! Bill is fully equipped not only with the right tools but the knowledge, experience, and creativity to handle nearly any repair situation at your location! He handled our Drum and Bugle Corps horns while on a stopover during their tour across Georgia with a very tight time schedule. He was also noted to be very pleasant and easy to discuss our needs with while not only providing excellent service but great solutions to keep us on track to perform later that same day!Give Bill a call! You cant go wrong with his services, knowledge and experience! And hes mobile and comes to YOU, TOO!!!
Bill Smith was able to repair a dropped Bari Sax in one day and it sounded better than even before it was banged up! He also fit us in on the weekend. We needed it back fast due to our sons busy band schedule and Bill was willing and able to accommodate us. He did a terrific job!
Bill and his crew know their stuff and shoot you straight with a great price to boot. He worked magic on a trumpet I scored at a garage sale. If you want it done right the first time, call Bill.
I took my custom F horn to Bill for an ultrasonic cleaning and some dent removal. He was very responsive to messages, and he did an excellent job! The horn came back looking as good as new, even where there had been some dents. Im preparing to sell this horn, and I expect to have no trouble doing so now. Thanks, Bill!
Ive had my trumpet Bach Strad. 72 overhauled from other top, reputable, well known shops around Atlanta. This was the best work Ive had done on it. I highly recommend this company. They even finished my horn early. Thanks for the great work!
I recently had two vintage saxophones, a King Super 20 Tenor and a King Zephyr Alto completely overhauled by Bill. His attention to detail, dent work and his willingness to take the extra step has resulted in two horns that are set up to my liking. Both horns are responsive and have a good feel to them. I am more than satisfied with his work. I would recommend Bill for any and all repairs concerning saxophone..
Outstanding job! Both my Tenor and Alto have never played so well. In fact, I had completely given up on my Alto (vintage Selmer SBA) and a vintage mouthpiece. I can happily say my Alto feels and plays great. The mouthpiece looks like new. Prior to meeting Bill, my alto was serviced several times within the last 18 months along with a recommendation for a complete overhaul. Bill was able to make the horn play great for a fraction of the cost of a full overhaul and said we can reevaluate a full overhaul in another year or two. Bill provides outstanding craftsmanship, attention to detail, and shows he really cares.
Bill is professional! Not only did he identify the same problem I found but a few others that I missed with my horn. He fixed the issues in a timely fashion and was flexible on price and time. I highly recommend him!!!
Bill Smith is a knowledgable, friendly, and professional instrument repair technician. He completely overhauled my instrument to nearly a better condition than when I bought it used four years ago! After the four years of heavy usage, my instrument had become very worn down inside and out. I was fortunate to find such a skilled technician so close to home! I would not hesitate to recommend Bill to any of my colleagues of any instrument. I will certainly be back for another clean when it is time!
Great service and prices. Exceptional, quality of work.
Just bought a beautiful classic trumpet from Bill. Fabulous price and service!! Very fast professionally packed shipping. The horn arrived in perfect condition and was better than described!! Super communication all the way through by Bill. I highly recommend!!
Mr. Smith has done a lot of good work for my school program and I get my school gear back in timely matter.. on my personal Saxophones Bill and his staff had taken care of my instruments I have a mark VI alto and Tenor he cleaned and adjusted my keys back to Selmers spects
Absolutely excellent work on 2 trumpets! Highly recommend for cleaning and dent removal....as an added bonus his rates are extremely good. So excited they look this good!
Bill has helped me out so many times in the past few months. Marching band has taken its toll on my instrument, but each time Ive brought it into him, hes fixed it quickly and pleasantly; it took longer for us to drive to him than it did for him to make the repair. He is almost always available too; I contacted him late at night with an emergency and he was able to fix my instrument very early the next morning, in time for a huge competition. If theres ever a problem, even a slight one, with your instrument, let him know! Hell respond in very little time, and he is so well-prepared to fix any issue that he comes across.
I have had a 1948 Olds trumpet since the 1960s. It had seen some hard times. I heard about Bill Smith from a chance meeting with a professional jazz musician, Kevin Tanner. I told Kevin about my horn & he highly recommended Bill. I shipped it off to him and, after a reasonable wait, and payment (again very reasonable) its very nearly a brand new horn! Thank you!!!
I sent my wife to the shop with two horns four repair. Bill Smith took great care of both my baritone and her trombone. He repaired a dented slide, stuck tuning slides and did a chem clean for us. The price was great ava service was quick, Im looking forward to taking more instruments to be repaired.
Here is someone who has built a business the right way, from being personable to his clients, doing great work, and to mindfully charges prices that are fair to the customer and also to his competitors/market. Hes an absolute asset to the music community he serves and looks to raise the bar for the business around him. Ive paid more elsewhere for a professional cleaning of a horn only to get it back and think It wasnt any better than when I worked on it home with soap and water. I brought my custom horn here and got it back not only looking great, but mechanically the slides and valves are performing better than when I first got it straight from the horn maker who built it. I will bring my work here from now on and recommend him to the horn players I work with. Its such a great thing to see a person have a vision on how to build a business and execute that business with quality and excellence in our community.
This guy is a workaholic when it comes to servicing wind instruments. Hes not just a tech, hes also a player who recognizes that players, regardless of age, need their axes repaired quickly. He not only delivers that, but does it at a very fair price. Look no further. Bills the man.
Bill recently restored my “over forty years old” Mark VI and Mark VII Saxes. WoW ! These horns play like they just left the factory ! And for a very reasonable price. Thanks Bill 🙋♂️
Thank you Bill for tuning and selling my alto for me. I really appreciate your professional help and appreciation for the condition of the horn. I remember taking the bus into Boston and trading my Conn in for this horn. I was a junior in high school and loved this new Selmer (smile). After high school I only played it one more year at community playhouses and summer theater.s etc. I think I was paid $25 a night (smile). Hope whoever purchased it appreciates as much as I loved it. Thanks.
Fair and flexible pricing on brass repairs. Knowledgeable about Dynasty product as well as Jupiter. On site repair option was a great asset. Highly recommended.
I’ve had multiple horns worked on and they’ve all come out great! His speciality is everything, it seems! Dirty, dented, or damaged horns come out looking and playing like new and it’s so great to have someone who’s 20 minutes from where I live provide such quality work!
Bills ultrasonic cleaner cleaned my horn so well! Looks like new, will be coming back whenever I need a clean or repair!
Got my horn cleaned by Bill. The clean was great and he got it done much faster than other places Ive been. Im definitely coming back whener I need my horns serviced!
I entered into a verbal agreement with this gentleman to buy a horn and did not live up to his contract. When I messaged him to make it right and threatened to go to the better business bureau he blocked me from making comments on his facebook page. I would be vary of doing business with this individual as he is quite shady.
Excellent service! Great prices!
We just had our daughters flute repaired by Bill. Very reasonable and excellent service. We would highly recommend!
Great work done in a very timely manner. I will take all my instruments to him for repairs!
He was really easy to work with and was able to get a quick turnaround on my horn when I needed it back only a couple days after I gave it to him. Very impressed with the quality of his work!
I was needing a professional saxophone for my son who is a freshman at UNG, so his professor, who knew Bill, highly recommended him. We made an appt. to go and view the saxophone and try it out. He was very patient and accomodating as he played around with it. My son loved it, so we purchased it for the price that it was listed which I thought was a fair price. (I play clarinet and teach, too.) . . . Couldnt be happier! Recommending to my friends!
Bills level of expertise and affordability is unparalleled! He loves what he does and it shows! I definitely recommend him!!!
Bill studied with one of the best teachers/technicians in the field....and carries on with that old school attention to detail, craftsmanship and pride in workmanship.
Bill provides expert service! I wouldn’t trust our inventory with anyone but him.
Trust me this guy is legit!! Great follow through on customer experience from start to finish. Im an experienced Sax Player (22 yrs) and had an issue with the lower stack on my Cannonball VR Pete Christleb tenor. My usual guy whose been around for 30+yrs in ATL was clueless on finding the problem😕So I went to Bill Smith Music...not only is he professional and skilled but hes a Sax player himself. he immediately found the problem effortlessly in a matter of minutes. Bill is the man in ATL and has my business from here on out and better yet his business hours are convenient for working musicians! I would recommend this guy to anyone needing woodwind or brasswind service!-A. Horton
Bill fixed up my vintage Conn tenor, plays like butter now. Give him a try!
Really knowledgeable and professional. Bill takes the time necessary to make sure your equipment is in optimal condition.
My horn looks and plays like new. Very professional, couldnt be happier!
Prompt, professional service.
Exceptional service and professional
Disrespectful, immature, non professional, shouldnt be allowed around kids
Rude and unprofessional towards me
Friendly and professional!
Had to have emergency work done to my Edwards dual bore trombone slide. Shout out to Brandon - this young, bearded man dropped what he was doing to not only inspect, but repair the issue with my slide. Trombonists know that you cant take your slide to just anyone but I will tell you that you can take it to this young man. Very knowledgable and professional.
