I like my glasses. A good selection of glasses and price ranges.One of the staff out front seemed to lack any interest in providing supportive feedback regarding eye ware options and pricing information with lenses and frames. Service was was fair. I nearly got my prescription and left.It was better the last time I went back; a bit more pleasant experience with someone else.Changed to a 4 Star from 3 as they checked in about my experience.

This was the best eye exam ever. The doctor was personable and knowledgeable. The other staff members I dealt with were cheerful and very nice.

There is no way that it should take over 2 hours for a simple check up for my 92 year old mother. I know it takes time and they were busy but to make her sit for over a half an hour after the examination for her to pay her $25 copay is inexcusable. If I hadnt raised a stink for someone to come over wed still probably be there. It only took a couple of minutes to process her payment AFTER I finally got someone to help us. Then to add insult to injury they wanted her to get back on her walker and walk back across the store to sign for her credit card. Also there is no ramp near the store to get up on the sidewalk. While I would not say this place is handicap inaccessible, it is not handicap friendly.The only reason i gave them even 3 stars is that the professional staff were very good and they use state of the art equipment. This location just needs to make the check out experience more efficient and more handicap friendly. They would then get a 5 star rating.

I cant say enough good things about Shopko Optical. Professional and personable staff. Great selection on glasses and contacts. Convenient location and hours. Best choice for eyecare in Oshkosh by far!

The people are so helpful and friendly. Dr. Forst is just incredible, paitent, informative and really listens to you. I cant recommend highly enough.

Dr. Forst did a very thorough exam. I had a recent head injury and he checked me over more thoroughly than Urgent Care had the day before. Sandy discovered I had insurance coverage I wasnt aware of. I mentioned that I had been a Shopko Optical patient in Neenah and suddenly someone brought the information from my last visit there into the exam room. Very happy and impressed

My husband and I had the worst experience. They totally took advantage of my husband not knowing what his insurance was supposed to cover. In their defense we did not list any eye insurance on the online appointment request (mainly because it was through both of our regular insurance carriers) so my husband was supposed to give it to them when he checked in. However, when I went in a few days later they weren’t even going to try and hear me out when I said (handing them my insurance) “I don’t need to use my eye insurance for this exam because my regular covers it for free.” So even if my husband tried to the other day he would have been shut down if it was the same lady. I had to put my foot down because they did not believe me and were so frustrated they were inconvenienced. They had to call my insurance and sure enough, I was right. When my husband was trying to get reimbursed for the $115 regular eye exam he had the other day they could only refund him $45 with no explanation. I’ve worked in customer service my whole life and this place (mainly the front desk lady. The refund receipt says Sandra L. so I assume that was her name) had the worst patience yet. I totally get that my request was inconvenient and caused me to be late for my actual appointment but in my opinion she over reacted way too early in the process. This made me need and want to keep my foot down on my request. We will not be returning or ordering anything from them in the future. My husband is such a good person and wants to believe the best in everyone so he was expecting them to be honest in what his insurance provided him. Instead they totally took advantage of him. Completely disgusting.

Would highly recommend Dr. Forst! His exams are top notch. Hes very thorough in explaining test results, doesnt rush through your exam and asks several times if you have any questions. My eyes were dilated when looking for new frames. YIKES, what a challenge! Ashley came to my rescue. She helped me pick out a purple frame that I wouldve never picked for myself but Im so very happy with!!! Thank you Shopko Optical!

Appt was on time and done very professionally, i wish is would of recieved a little more assistance picking out frames because i have progressive bi focals, i can not see hwat i am ytu/ing on. i will there was some way for me to truly see what look like with them on

I picked up my glasses and knew something wasnt right. I was told to Get used to them. Two to three weeks later I called and found out I was given the wrong prescription. It has been hell not being able to watch tv and read a paper without having to put my glasses on and off. It is so hard to drive when I need my glasses to read gps which is no problem but than the distance was so blurry. I had to take off my glasses for distance but couldnt see signs because my eyes needed time to refocus.

Dr. Frost and all the staff were very helpful and had a wonderful attitude even in these trying times. They made me feel welcomed and at home. Would recommend to everyone.

Ive been using Shopko Optical for almost 10 years now. On my very first visit there they saved me quite a bit of money by telling me my current eyeglasses prescription was good for 2 years, not the 6 months my former practitioner had told me (they lied so they could charge me for another exam), and, therefore, I didnt need another full exam to replace my broken glasses. I have seen both doctors and like them equally well. The staff has always been friendly & helpful. Most recently I was in for an exam & ordered new every day glasses. I also have a separate pair which I use for reading music and used to use in my former job for reading the computer screen; they are a different prescription from my every day glasses. I forgot to mention them in my appointment, so I made another appointment to have them upgraded. Shopko, seeing that I had just been in, called to inquire about the additional appointment. I told them the circumstances & they told me I didnt need another exam but could just stop by & they could figure out what Id need once they knew how far from my eyes my music stand is. Thats twice now that they could have gotten money from me for an exam, but chose to be honest & save me that money. And an extra bonus is that their frames & glasses are much less expensive than where Id been going Ten years ago that was around $50 vs the $200 Id paid before. All in all I am VERY pleased with Shopko Optical!

Very disappointing this trip! Ive been going to Shopko Optical for years. First I had an issue with the insurance, but with several phone calls Ashley the Manager in Training was amazing and resolved the issue. Due to Covid we have to wear a mask, but when you get Bifocals you have to have measurements done, i was worried that this would mess up the no line progressive in my glass i was assured this wouldnt happen. Yesterday I went to pick up my glasses and I told them they hurt behind my ears and that I couldnt see, I was told to take them home and put them on in the morning with fresh eyes. So this morning, with my fresh eyes, I tried my new glasses on. They are still to tight and are pushed into my eyebrows and the prescription is so low that I have to tip my head back to be able to see, and I work at a computer all day and the computer is blurry. I call to see if I could come in and have them look at them, and due to Covid I have to wait days to get in and get them fixed. I get the Covid thing but, I shouldnt have to wait to get my glasses fixed so I can See!! I give the Doctor a 5 star, I give Ashley a 5 star, but I give the rest a 2 star.

Staff was very helpful and attentive, only thing I dont understand is how 2 years ago with no vision insurance, my glasses and exam cost the same as it did with insurance. Is the price inflated that much for insurance companies

My eyes were diated before I wad directed to look at frames. It was very difficult to choose without being able to really see the shapes and colors and how they looked when wearing. I started feeling a little nauseas from trying to focus on frames. Also, I returned home and realized I was never given my prescription.

Relaxing atmosphere, great doctor

Billing is very unorganized. Have been trying to schedule an appointment for over three months and right on the appointment day they call and come up with a billing glitch that they are unable to bill the insurance. I will take my business elsewhere before I go through runaround after runaround for a simple eye exam.

Ive been going to Shopko Optical for years and cant imagine going anywhere else. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. Dr. Forst is very thorough in explaining everything about your eye care and genuinely cares for his patients.

Dr. Patrick is the best eye doctor, hands down! She answered questions I didn’t even know I had and explained everything more thoroughly in our 30 minutes together than any eye doctor I’ve ever had! I’m so impressed and won’t hesitate to call again for my next appointment.

The Male dr was amazingWhen I got my glasses I had problems with the fit-on the 20th of feb I came in again to have them they were sliding off my nose luanne helped me- she told me there was nothing they could do, laughed at me n then when I said I was returning them over tightened them. I came back 2 days later n leah was wonderful. Said the left ear was twisted up n obviously too tight. Sje out plastic nose pads that gripped. And they fit perfectly. Because of the wayianne treated me I almost tossed the glasses n went back to wearing my old 1s. Never in 25 years of wearing glasses have I had anyone treat me so rudelyI would still go to shopko- just avoid luanne

They consistantly throw me for loops and can never do anything conveniently for me. Ive been a customer for 6 years and they treat me poorly Everytime I go there or call them. Save yourself the hastle and go somewhere else.
