I actually love many workers here but the receptionist is just plain rude. I got off the phone with someone about 5 minutes ago, and I was very kind to her while asking questions. She answered the phone already in an aggressive way, and on top of that she didn’t say one “Thank you” “Have a good day” “Can I help you with anything else?” Just hung up in the middle of me saying thank you to her. Very very rude and dismissive. Why do you work in customer service if you can’t be kind to customers asking a simple question? I will not be scheduling here anymore.

Love the staff, doctors, and choice of eyewear!!!They were excellent at finding the right eye frames for my husband and now I am making them my place to go for eyewear!!!

Everyone is extremely friendly at the downtown location of Visionworks (in Fifth Avenue Place building). Dr. Shuba is excellent. He really takes the time to explain things well. Very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Jasmine was also a big help with picking out new glasses. I never feel pressured into a glasses sale. The woman who did my initial pre-exam workup was wonderful too (I wish I caught her name- I remember her saying she lives downtown). Everyone in the office is so personable and kind. Extremely pleasant experience every time Ive been there and I completely trust Dr. Shuba with my eye health! I pay out of pocket and it is still extremely reasonable. Visionworks is great about sending out coupons too so I was able to get a discount on my new glasses, which ended up being less expensive then even the discount websites for glasses. Absolutely excellent experience all around. Worth the trip downtown to go here! Thank you to Dr. Shuba & staff!

I was received very warmly and helped by very friendly staff, and the lady who helped me pick glasses was very patient and even helped me make a decision... when I was leaning to a bad choice, she did not hide her dislike of my choice. Thank you very much, ill continue to come to this place!

Once again had a great experience at visionworks. Went to target optical because they took my insurance. Had to return my glasses. Went to visionworks and paid out of pocket and they got it right, as usual. Alicia is always a great help.

I had a wonderful experience at this Visionworks! The location is very convenient and it is easy to schedule an appointment. The entire staff is so kind and accommodating. Dr. Shuba is very knowledgeable and extremely thorough. Because the appointment was not rushed, I was able to get my eye prescription just right! Alicia did a fantastic job helping me to select a beautiful frame that suits the shape of my face & high prescription level. She is very patient and has a keen sense of aesthetics. She knew I was worried about my glasses being narrow and went above and beyond to help me find the perfect two pair😍 To top off this great service Dr. Patterson is the best Optometrist!!! He not only explains what going on with your eyes he informed me of a condition that I was unaware of and fixed the issue with in a blink of an eye!!! I definitely recommend Visionworks downtown Pittsburgh. They were so friendly and quick. They even went above and beyond to help me during my insurance issues! I recently had to switch eye doctors and I am so glad I decided to switch to them.

My experience was wonderful making me kick myself for cancelling appointment 2 years ago. I thought it would cost to much and was afraid of being sold expensive glasses by staff. I couldnt have been more wrong. The staff was nothing but professional assisting with choosing glasses with no pressure. Doctor Todd was quick and efficient. The entire experience was quick and painless. Thanks to them i have two great pairs of new eye-wear that i am very happy with.

Alicia was fantastic! Very helpful and knowledgeable about frames, lenses and insurance. With the buy one, get one half off, I was able to get two pairs of glasses with the works (thin lenses, non glare, scratch resistant and blue light filter) for what others charge for just one pair! I wish there were more than 5 stars - the general manager, Michelle could NOT have been more helpful. Her task wasnt easy as I brought in a broken old frame for a relative who was recently hospitalized. I believe most managers or employees would have said, sorry I cant help you. Actually there 2 other places that DID tell me that before I called Vision Works and Michelle encouraged me to come in, saying Im sure we can help you. I wasnt sure but she turned out to be right. Give her a raise.

My visits are always good but Alicia makes them GREAT ❤. She knows exactly what type of frames I like and I look forward to our visits. Today I met with Dr. Patterson and he was very detailed. Definitely will return and refer friends!

I came in with a bent pair of Ray-Bans that I had purchased elsewhere and was assisted quickly by the customer service desk and directed to an associate who was more than happy to look at the frames. I informed the associate of the situation and they told me they werent liable for any additional damage, but that they have never broken a pair of frames. They stated that to fix it right I would need a special tool (special pliers with a plastic tip) and the associate straightened the frames for me since it was an inconvenience to go elsewhere for a 2 minute fix. He cleaned the lenses off for me before returning them to me. I am definitely considering shopping here after customer service like this.

I always have a great experience when getting new glasses. Everyone is very friendly. Dr. Shuba always answers all of my questions and I learn something new at every appointment. Alicia always knows which frame would work best for me before I even have a chance to look, and she’s always right. This is the best place to go for new glasses.

The doctors and staff are professional and quick, and there was no waiting whatsoever. The staff was helpful and I got my glasses quickly (in less than one day). I just wish there were more interesting frames. Theres tons in there to choose from, but they all seem kinda similar; theres nothing very unique.

Place was great. Had a wide selection of frames. Corey helped me decide on a pair, walked me through the different lens options and corresponding costs. All in all I was in and out of there in a half an hour. 5 stars all around. Corey was great - definitely recommend him if you’re in there and need help.

This Visionworks makes coming to the eye doctor simple and convenient. I encounter nothing but friendly staff (thank you, Corey for your assistance and great attitude). I never have to wait in long lines or sit in a waiting room where someone forgets about you.I recently tore a contact while at work, and came to this location to ask to buy a replacement - they immediately got me a replacement contact and didnt charge me. They are beyond helpful here, and I cant imagine going anywhere else for eye exams, glasses and contacts.

My husband and I stopped in because the arms of his glasses were breaking. When we found out they had the same frames, we worked with Aly who was willing to give us a really good discount on buying the frames off the rack. She switched out the lenses, cleaned them up, and everything was good as new! Not only was Aly extremely helpful, she had a wonderful personality and joked with us. What a wonderful experience!

Ive been a Visionworks customer since 2016. Since then my hopes and expectations have been consistently exceeded. Today was no exception: After falling on my frames I needed to engage my 1yr replacement warranty. I could live without lenses for the 7-10 business days, but it wouldve been a struggle. I asked Jazmin if I could have a loaner and she found a way to use the same style on-hand to install my current lenses while I wait. Then her Mgr Michelle and other tech Kim worked to do a full swap warranty using the new frames and ordering only the lenses, which theyll install in the new frames I got same-day. I wouldnt expect this kind of way-making, and I dont think this is something theyd make a formal program out of doing, but it was a huge clutch save for me while I wait for the replacement lenses. Thanks, ladies!

Frames ordered on August 1st and was told that theyll be in 2 to 5 days. Well after a few phone calls Im told no one knows anything about my frames. Safe to say this is the last time that Ill ever use this location

I get my annual eye exam and contact lenses from here and it’s always a pleasant experience. Chelsey in particular is super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. There’s hardly ever a wait time and it’s a very positive and upbeat atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Just wanted to say I went to Americas Best first, they had a sale going on but not for progressive. 337.00 for one pair. Mom said shop around found Vision works having a sale on progressive eye glasses. Then wasnt supposed to be ready until today. I said dag my birthday is 11-14 sure would be nice to see. I have never experienced the level of service that this Visonworks location has provided when purchasing glasses- even by other Visionworks stores. I have been wearing glasses for 5 years now and no one has ever helped me pick them out, found the perfect style for me and stayed in my budget. They were busy but I did not wait at all and they took their time to make sure I was satisfied. Also, they fixed my current glasses so they dont fall off my face anymore and they OFFERED to do that without a word from me. Kudos to these folks! I really felt like a valued customer!

I’ve purchased four pairs of glasses from this location. Everyone there is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Doctors are consultative and won’t let you make good (or bad 😀) decision without full knowledge of what might be getting into. Glasses come with free tuneups which they are always happy to do. Better to have the professionals with the tools and techniques to get them back in shape than try to do it yourself and ruin your glasses!
